The title screennote
The Untold Tales of the Vocaloids is an Eastern RPG and a Vocaloid fan game created by Sirlothus01. It was made with RPG Maker XP and released in 2019. In its second act, it also features a Crossover with Touhou Project.

Iroha City is a peaceful city. Too peaceful, in fact, that some people felt it was dull and boring to live. Despite that, Rin Kagamine doesn't agree with this and she always finds a way to make her life exciting with her Vocaloid friends. However, after a strange accident in the school grounds and an encounter with strange men in black hood, they must embark on a quest to save the world, unaware of the consequences that wait for them.....

The game's official site is at itch

This game provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Relationship Change: Rin and Len are explicitly siblings, compared to their ambiguous relationship in canon media.
  • Arbitrary Headcount Limit : Only 4 character could be used in the party, even if all of the Vocaloids travels as a group.
  • The Atoner : The reason why Kazehi is in ruins was because Remilia once went berserk and destroy everything. She regrets this and joins Sirloth to amend for her mistake.
  • A Homeowner Is You : Some of the towns contain a vacant house which you could afford for a hefty amount of money. Function-wise, they're just free Inns though you can hire maids and buy some decorations.
  • Beach Episode: After defeating Onigami, the Vocaloids decided to take a break to the beach, except Gumi who has a family matter and Teto who hates water, being a chimera.
  • Blow You Away : Gumi uses wind magic in her skills.
  • Boulder Bludgeon : Rin resorts to this because she lost her weapon when accidentally fell from a bridge in Whispering Cave. Ironically it's more powerful than whatever you equipped her before.
  • Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick : An NPC in Iroha Library said the library has collections of "science, drama, fantasy, and ecchi" books.
  • Brother–Sister Team : Rin and Len if the later is on the main party.
  • Build Like an Egyptian : The desert has two pyramids at north and east of Desert Town. the east pyramid contains a Holy Altar.
  • Can't Drop the Hero : Rin is always required in the active party, except on a few occasions.
  • Dance Battler: Unlike how most Vocaloid-based media portrayed her, this game's version of Miku is more of a dancer. Her weapon are various fans and she has the second highest dexterity stat, which means her attack command has a high chance to deal critical hits (and she really needs it; her damage is otherwise unimpressive due to her low strength).
  • Duel Boss:
    • The Hell Hound is fought with only Teto to obtain one of the required materials to unlock her Chimera form.
    • There is also a boss battle with only Rin in Whispering Cave, due to her being separated from the others.
    • Remilia at one point challanges Rin to a duel.
  • Dishing Out Dirt : Len has earth magic in his skill, though it's rather weak because of his low intelligence stat.
  • Easter Egg: If you interact with the jukebox in the McDonald in Iroha, you can choose three Vocaloid/UTAU song to play which last until you exit the restaurant. The choices are "World is Mine" by ryo, "Kodoku no Hate" ("Solitude's End") by Hikari Syuyo, and "Fukkireta" (though its actual name is "Ochame Kinou"/"Mischievous Function") by Gojimaji-P.
  • First Town: Iroha City. It's the largest human settlement in the game and where the Vocaloids live and start their quest. Its cemetery hides the final Holy Altar.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling : The Kagamines have contrasting personalities. Rin is lazy and prefer to die than doing her homework, while Len is diligent and also a prodigy.
  • Foreign Exchange Student : Luka is an exchange student based from the status screen, though it's more of an Informed Attribute.
  • Glass Cannon:
    • Kaito has the highest strength and dexterity among the Vocaloids, but surprisingly has the lowest health (even compared to Miku and Len whom are quite frail).
    • Invoked with the Chaos Ring. It drastically increases attack and applies permanent Sharp status (attack buff) to the wielder. It doesn't grant any defensive buffs whatsoever, so the character will be more fragile than other fully built party members.
  • Holy Hand Grenade : Kaito's Holy Cut deals extra damage against undead enemies.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight : the boss fight against Sirloth on Belamy Mountain. He easily overpowers your party and then proceed to destroy the Holy Altar. Or at least it seems.
  • An Ice Person : Miku uses ice magic in her skills.
  • Light 'em Up : Rin uses light magic, later switch to Non-Elemental.
  • Making a Splash : Kaito uses water magic in his skill, though it's rather weak because of his low Intelligence stat and he doesn't has much MP anyway.
  • Noodle Incident : Meiko claimed that Rin once made everyone wasted a whole day to look for a monkey she allegedly saw in the school.
  • Optional Party Member: This game has two, both are not Vocaloid characters:
    • Sylia, who you can meet as soon as Chapter 1 by checking the solitary tree near the road to Iroha Outskirts. She joined your party after a Boss Battle.
    • Shizuka, only available after Rin gained her Chimera form. She joined your party after you save her from the Abandoned Subway in Iroha.
  • Parasol of Pain: Shizuka has her non-replaceable parasol as a weapon.
  • Playing with Fire : Teto uses fire magic in her skills.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Sirloth doesn't answer when the Vocaloids question his motive when they meet on Iroha. This results in the Vocaloids mistaking him for an enemy when Sirloth is actually trying to protect the Altars.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Onigami was sealed long ago with the Holy Altars powering its seal. However, the destruction of the altars makes the seal weakened and eventually broken.
  • Shout-Out :
  • Shock and Awe : Luka uses lightning magic in her skills.
  • Stalker with a Crush : There is a Running Gag where a a certain Rin fan boy appears to harass her and your party members proceed to beat him up in a battle for his troubles.
    • The encounter in Cerulon is particularly hilarious. The same guy appears again, only to find Rin isn't present (for spoilerific reasons) and leaves in disappointment. However, Miku, who finally fed up of his antics, decides to beat him up anyway.
  • Throw the Book at Them: Some of Rin's weapons are books and tomes.
  • Useless Useful Spell: Unfortunately, most of your status-inflicting magic are not that useful.
    • Len and Kaito's offensive magic also mostly useless since they have low Intelligence stat.
  • Using You All Along: Garon manipulates the Vocaloids into chasing Sirloth so he can destroys the Holy Altars without the later's interference. Rin realized this after the destruction of Belany's altar.
