Mýa Marie Harrison or known mononymously as Mýa (born October 10, 1979) is an American singer, dancer, and actor. Mýa was born into a musical family and has been dancing since she was four. These talents landed Mýa a spot as a dancer on BET's Teen Summit and after shopping her demo around, she was signed by Interscope Records. She would then release her first self-titled album in April 1998, a collaboration from a wide variety of artists such as Babyface, Missy Elliott and Dru Hill. She would then release two more albums with Interscope before running into several issues with record companies and leaks, which eventually led to her going completely independent and even releasing two albums specifically for the Japanese market. In 2016, she would undergo a minor Genre Shift to a more traditional R&B sound with her seventh album, Smooth Jones, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album.

Mýa is best known for "Take Me There," from The Rugrats Movie soundtrack (along with Blackstreet, Mase and Blinky Blink), her collaboration with P!nk, Lil' Kim, and Christina Aguilera, a cover of Labelle's "Lady Marmalade" for the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack, as well singing the hook for Pras's "Ghetto Superstar" (also featuring Ol' Dirty Bastard).
