Go To

Upon a Cross of Trumpism is an Alternate History timeline written by Hal Jordan of AlternateHistory.com. It is intended to be a reversal of Reagent's Upon a Cross of Globalism timeline on the same forum.

The point of divergence is the ''Access Hollywood'' tape being leaked three months earlier than OTL. The damage to Donald Trump's reputation results in him winning the 2016 US presidential election by an even narrower margin than OTL. The Democrats manage to retake the Senate, and eventually the House, causing Trump to be unable to fulfill his "promises" to his supporters or implement his policies. This results in him losing tremendous amounts of support and almost costs him the 2020 election, which he only manages to win due to a good economy and the COVID-19 pandemic being delayed by a year, with Democrats maintaining a stranglehold over Congress. Trump finally snaps and resigns after yet another blue wave in 2022, resulting in Mike Pence becoming acting president. This sets the stage for Rachel Maddow, who by this point has radicalized into a firebrand progressive, to announce her candidacy for president on a hard-line progressive & social democratic platform. She goes on to win the primary, and subsequently, the 2024 election. With the help of Congress and the Supreme Court, Maddow implements social, economic, and electoral policies and reforms that transform America into something resembling a European social democracy. Her election and subsequent presidential elections go on to drastically reshape not just the United States, but the world.

This scenario provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass:
    • The Democratic party as a whole are this in comparison to what they were in Cross of Globalism, being able to not only thwart Donald Trump's agenda and cause his own supporters to dump him, but also being able to implement every single policy they and their voters desire under the sun and more. By the time Stephen Miller gets elected in 2040 as the first Republican president to get elected since Trump, the Democrats have irreversibly changed the nation's social, economic, domestic, and foreign policies in their favor and it's too late for the Republicans to undo what they did.
    • Carlos Ramirez-Rosa is a more specific example. In this timeline he serves as the Speaker of the House during Miller's short lived presidency, and is ultimately the one to replace him in 2043 after both Miller and Vice President Madison Cawthorn go down.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Eddie Gallagher and Stephen Miller, who were President and Vice President of the United States in Upon a Cross of Globalism and ruled the country with an iron fist, are easily taken out by Richard Ojeda and the Justice Party, the former being killed during Ojeda's Proscription and the latter being taken out by Ojeda himself in a coup.
  • Asshole Victim: Eddie Gallagher, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Tucker Carlson, Josh Hawley, Donald Trump Jr, and thousands of other SAC government officials end up being killed or arrested during Ojeda's Proscription. The only person spared is 2024 GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis, and even then it's because outside of posting an image of him voting in the 2048 SAC elections for clout, he largely keeps a low profile, ultimately passing away not long after.
  • Badass Creed: From Jon Ossoff when he accepts the Democratic nomination in 2032:
This country was founded by our founding fathers as a place where anyone who wished to start anew could come, it was founded to allow anyone to work hard and as a result create a prosperous life for themselves and their families, it was founded to inspire anyone being stepped on by the boots of evil men to rise up and fight for freedom. It was founded to be a refuge for all who are persecuted on account of being different, as somewhere where they could be accepted for who they are and be given equality under the law. This country was meant to be a beacon of light, of hope, of freedom, of equality, of justice, of fairness, of prosperity, and most importantly of all, a beacon of diversity and pluralism. As president, I will make sure it stays that way.
  • Broken Pedestal: Trump becomes this near the end of his presidency, having virtually no support due to his failure to implement the policies his supporters want and "breaking his promises".
  • Decided by One Vote:
    • Donald Trump only achieves the bare minimum 270 electoral votes in his re-election campaign, winning Wisconsin by just 500 votes.
    • Similarly, Stephen Miller wins the 2040 election by a gnat's eyelash, winning New Hampshire and Virginia by a combined total of a meager 198 votes. The vote was so close in Virginia that a full audit had to be done. When his win was confirmed though, the outgoing Democrat majority did everything in its power to severely limit his powers and authority.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • The Russian soldiers liberating North Korean prison camps in 2045 note that not even the Nazis went as far as the North Koreans did in their treatment of prisoners.
    • During Ojeda's Proscription, multiple street gangs such as the Bloods, Crips, Latin Kings and MS-13 are deputized by the feds to take down far-right militias and groups attempting to overthrow Ojeda.
    • Stephen Miller faces criticism within his own party. Some examples include when he sends the government into a shutdown when he refuses to sign a bipartisan bill to avert it just because it doesn't cut Maddow and Ossoff's social programs and fund his border Wall. They are also outraged at him trashing him behind their backs by referring to them as "snakes and judases" despite being nothing but supportive. Multiple Republican congresspersons also vote to impeach him during both his first, and especially his second impeachment.
    • Donald Trump works with Democrats to pass a $3 trillion economic recovery bill, known here as the Covid Relief Act of 2021
  • Everyone Has Standards: Richard Ojeda calls for the arrest of militiamen who killed a SAC Senator in a revenge killing.
  • Evil Counterpart: Stephen Miller is this to Upon a Cross of Globalism's Carlos Ramirez-Rosa. The Save America Compact act as this to the Restore Democracy Compact, with Barron Trump serving as the GOP version of Chesa Boudin in the Save America Compact elections.
  • Evil Is Petty: Stephen Miller, having already been in hot water for collaborating with outside forces to win the 2040 election, becomes this when he secretly conspires with far-right militias to massacre Democratic voters and politicians in response to the 2042 midterms being a blue tsunami. This comes to light in a phone/email hack in fall 2043. Naturally, the entire nation is furious, and Congress promptly has him impeached and removed, with the military arresting him after he refuses to leave.
  • Evil Reactionary: The Republicans react to the success of the Maddow and Ossoff administrations by doubling down on their xenophobic and socially regressive views despite pleas from many conservatives to dial it down. Stephen Miller runs for president in 2040 on a platform of reversing all of Maddow's and Ossoff's policies. He's able to win the White House despite losing the popular vote thanks to legal maneuvering in Virginia, but is continuously stymied by the Democratic-controlled Congress, who has him booted from office after his attempted self-coup is exposed. They eventually resort to open rebellion and are crushed by the Ojeda administration.
  • Expanded States of America: Guam, The US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and Washington DC (referred to as Douglas) are first given the right to vote in federal elections and eventually admitted into the Union, expanding the US to 56 states. The US also establishes a permanent human settlement on the moon known as New Plymouth.
  • Good Counterpart: On the contrary to above, Maddow serves as one to Carlson, Ossoff to Hawley, and Ojeda and Gorman to Gallagher and Miller
  • Good Is Not Nice: President Ojeda is firmly committed to enforcing progressive values, but he doesn't hold back when dealing with the far-right insurgency, being willing to authorize lethal force against insurgent leaders and deputizing street gangs to fight against right-wing militias.
  • Hack Your Enemy: Operation JACOB starts with a massive state sponsored cyber attack which permanently shuts down and/or disables every single right-wing news outlet and other conservative websites, along with tens of millions of cell phones, signaling the beginning of Ojeda's Proscription.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Nebraska, Missouri, Kentucky, Kansas, Montana, and Alaska, long since considered Republican strongholds, are among the states to side with Ojeda and join the NPVIC in 2044.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: Defied: Ojeda does not want to stoop to the level of Republicans, leading him to call for the arrest of some left-wing militiamen who did cross the line by murdering SAC Senator Tom Cotton.
  • Humiliation Conga: The entire timeline is one for the Republican Party. Trump is unable to do anything meaningful thanks to Democrats controlling both houses of Congress, and the Maddow and Ossoff administrations are able to easily overcome Republican opposition to their policies. They finally get a victory when Stephen Miller is narrowly elected President in 2040, but he gets stonewalled by the Democrat-controlled Congress just like Trump before him, and is eventually removed from office after attempting a self-coup. They are finally destroyed after their attempt to overthrow the Ojeda administration is crushed, with Congress banning the party from participating in future elections.
  • Ignored Expert: After the 2024 and 2028 elections, many conservatives urge the Republican Party to moderate their views, but they are ignored and the extremist faction continued to double down on their unpopular stances.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Trump still tries to appoint Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, but fails due to Democratic control of the Senate. He also made the same "many sides" comment following the Charlottesville rally.
    • Joe Biden still runs for office and selects Kamala Harris as his vice presidential pick, And he comes very close to winning, losing Wisconsin by only 500 votes.
    • Katie Hobbs is elected governor of Arizona in 2022 just as she was in OTL
    • Tucker Carlson is no longer employed by Fox News in 2023.
  • Iron Lady: Rachel Maddow, obviously.
  • I Surrender, Suckers: In the months leading up to Ojeda's Proscription, the Justice Party lulls the Save America Compact into a false sense of safety and security by letting them think they are gaining steam. As the SAC-led civil unrest intensifies and eventually reaches its peak on July 2nd, Richard Ojeda ends military curfew and even orders all soldiers tasked with maintaining civil order and enforcing martial law back to base. Unfortunately for them, it's a ruse, and it was at that point that Ojeda drops the act and begins Operation JACOB, also known as Ojeda's Proscription.
  • Landslide Election:
    • Rachel Maddow and Jon Ossoff win their first respective elections (2024 and 2032) by a very big margin.
    • When the NPVIC is enacted, elections become outright one-sided in favor of Richard Ojeda of the Justice Party, greatly exaggerating this trope.
  • Manly Tears: Barack Obama is seen crying at Joe Biden's funeral, with him saying he and Biden were "he and Biden were the best of friends, almost like brothers".
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain:
    • Early on in the story, Mitch McConnell bemoans the incoming Democratic supermajority in Congress and sees it as the beginning of the end of the GOP. He's right but likely doesn't live to see it.
"God damn him... Thanks to Trump, the Democrats are going to get a supermajority. He has singlehandedly ruined the Republican party."
    • Rick Scott chastises Donald Trump post-mortem for causing the Republican Party to lose its influence in American politics.
""Donald Trump can Rot in Hell. He ruined the Republican party."
    • Stephen Miller causing a government shutdown by demanding the cut of social programs for his border wall, combined with his "snakes and Judases" comment leads to the Republicans getting crushed in the midterms, giving the Democrats enough seats to impeach him.
  • Oh, Crap!: Rick Scott's reaction to Jon Ossoff being far ahead of him in election polling:
"This guy is like 30-40 points ahead of me this late into the election, are you F■■king joking?"
  • Oppressive States of America: Inverted, majorly. Under Presidents Maddow, Ossoff, and eventually, Ojeda, the United States is gradually transformed into what can be described as the "most democratic and freest country on the planet", ranking at the top of the democracy index and other freedom indices by the mid-2030s. The three presidents respective expansions on voting rights and aggressive social reforms such as expansion of LGBT rights, crackdown on police brutality, legalization of cannabis, protecting abortion rights, and Increasing its help of immigrants and refugees immensely improve America's human rights record and, along with their economic reforms, turn the country into an entity rivaling Western Europe, Canada, or Australia in terms of freedom, human rights, and economic development. These expansions are passed through Congress and eventually codified into the constitution.
  • Our Presidents Are Different:
    • (2017-2022) Donald Trump is President Jerkass, as his belligerent personality and refusal to compromise with Democrats results in him getting very little done during his tenure.
    • (2022-2025) Mike Pence is President Focus Group, as he does his best not to antagonize the Democrats and does very little things of note before leaving office.
    • (2025-2033) Rachel Maddow is President Iron for her firm commitment to progressive policies, and President Minority for the being the first female and first LGBT president.
    • (2033-2041) Jon Ossoff is President Iron for his strong progressive beliefs, and President Minority for being the first Jewish president.
    • (2041-2043) Stephen Miller is a mix of President Jerkass and President Corrupt, doing his best to reverse the policies of Maddow and Ossoff. His efforts fail thanks to the efforts of the Democrats, and he's ultimately impeached and removed from office.
    • (2043-2044) Carlos Ramirez-Rosa is President Iron for his crackdown on supporters of the disgraced Stephen Miller and President Minority for being the first Hispanic president.
    • (2044-2053) Richard Ojeda is President Iron, firmly defending the achievements of his predecessors against the far-right insurgency.
  • Outgrown Such Silly Superstitions: Over the course of the timeline, Christianity goes through a period of dramatic, steep decline in the United States. This is sped up by the Thomas Jefferson Church-State Separation Act and the violent reactions to it. Christianity no longer is the majority religion by 2032 and by the end of Ojeda's presidency, only a small fraction of citizens are Christian. Other non-Abrahamic religions, particularly the Unitarian Universalist Church see a rise in membership, but Christianity is set to fade from American culture by the 2070s according to statistics of the time period.
  • Persona Non Grata: Barron Trump is barred from entering over 100 countries as a result of him being elected president of the SAC government.
  • Properly Paranoid: Right before Ojeda's Proscription, some people in the Save America Compact believe Ojeda is leading them into a trap by letting them think they are winning only to clamp down on them when the SAC's guard is down, resulting in this reaction from one SAC supporter on a far-right forum. They turn out to be correct.
"This feels like a trap... things are going well.. TOO well..." ~ Anonymous user on saveamericacompact.win, June 23rd, 2049
  • Pre Emptive Declaration: When Stephen Miller is inaugurated, Amanda Gorman warns him of the consequences of trying to pull any of his stunts, which ends up being a self-fulfilling prophecy when he gets removed in 2043:
Miller may be president, but If this Fascist punk even tries to implement his agenda and attempts to undo all the progress we as a nation have made over the last 16 years, there will be blood in the streets.
  • President Evil:
    • Subverted, In 2040, after 16 years of Democratic dominance, the Republicans actually manage to win an election with far-right candidate Stephen Miller. However, it's too late for him to really do anything to reverse what the Democrats have done without changing the constitution, which has been amended to codify their reforms, going through the (liberal) Supreme Court or passing bills through a Congress that is against him. Those things, along with his acting cabinet and various state and local governments, as well as hundreds of local, state, and federal agencies defying him, combined with his general unpopularity, greatly stymie his agenda, and Miller is eventually impeached and taken out in a coup by Richard Ojeda in 2043.
    • Inverted with Richard Ojeda, who implements serious electoral reforms, most notably the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, which allocates a state's electoral votes to the winner of the overall popular vote. Ojeda also implements major social and economic reforms that even further liberalize the nation than it already had been.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: The 2016, 2020, and 2040 presidential elections, as well as multiple midterms, end up being this for Republicans, where in spite of winning or making gains, the Democratic party ultimately maintains control of at minimum the legislative branch. Republicans don't win the Senate again until 2040 with Cawthorn as a tiebreaker, and even then it ends up being for nothing as the outgoing Democrat majority reinstate the filibuster to prevent them from passing anything. Post-2040, especially with the enactment of the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, the Republican party is effectively powerless on the federal level.
  • Rage Breaking Point:
    • When President Ossoff announces the Thomas Jefferson Church-State Separation Act, a bill that completely ends the influence of religion in all sectors of US politics, Christian groups, already vexed by a decline in membership and having to deal with no longer being the majority religion, snap. Protests break out across the country and are at their worst in the South, where Ossoff is forced to use the Insurrection Act to quell riots in several southern cities. Once the bill heads to Ossoff, most give up and agree to comply. Several southern states sue Ossoff in the Supreme Court afterwards, only to be shut down.
    • In 2049, following the 2048 elections and the Save America Compact elections, the Republicans, who have had to deal with being electorally castrated by the Democratic (and later Justice) party, finally put their foot down and begin to openly revolt against the Ojeda administration. Initially looking like they were gaining steam, it only serves to make them let their guard down, and they are ultimately brutally put down during Ojeda's Proscription.
  • Rage Quit: After Democrats gain an even bigger majority in 2022, Donald Trump flies into a rage and resigns, saying that there's no point in leading a country that "hates him so much".
Donald Trump, Twitter: I HAVE BEEN HUMILIATED FOR THE LAST TIME. I QUIT!!! DAMN YOU ALL, AND DAMN ALL MY SUPPORTERS FOR TURNING ON ME!!!!
  • Redemption Rejection: South Dakota, South Carolina, Mississippi, Indiana, and West Virginia leave the SAC due to mounting pressure from state legislatures and civil unrest, resulting in every Republican politician in these states being expelled from the party. Ojeda and Gorman offer to give them a chance to redeem themselves by joining the Justice Party, but they refuse, resulting in them being absorbed into their fold, along with Arkansas, which remained in the SAC, by force in the 2046 midterms.
  • Richard Nixon, the Used Car Salesman: Several characters that appear in Upon a Cross of Globalism appear here, and have presidents that serve as their counterparts:
    • Donald Trump is, similarly to Hillary Clinton in Upon a Cross of Globalism, a largely toothless president who is stymied and stonewalled by Congressional Democrats, to the point where he is completely unable to carry out his agenda. Most notably, the Supreme Court ends up with a de facto liberal majority by 2019 due to Senate Democrats refusing to confirm any of his appointees. This results in Trump's transgender military ban being overturned and DACA remaining in place. Trump is also forced to cancel his border wall entirely after Congress refuses to support it. He dies about a year after resigning from heart failure caused by stress and his diet.
    • Rachel Maddow and Ron DeSantis act as the Democratic and Republican counterparts to Tucker Carlson and Gavin Newsom respectively. The former's UACOT counterpart quits Fox in 2029 and is arrested in 2049 during Ojeda's Proscription.
    • Jon Ossoff fills in for Josh Hawley, who in this timeline becomes senator in 2034 instead of 2018 and eventually leads the Save America Compact alongside Lauren Boebert.
    • Stephen Miller, who was Eddie Gallagher's vice president and right-hand man in Upon a Cross of Globalism, becomes the Upon a Cross of Trumpism counterpart to Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, who ironically becomes Speaker of the House, and then President after Miller is removed from office in 2043
    • Richard Ojeda and Amanda Gorman serve as a Democratic counterpart to Eddie Gallagher and Stephen Miller respectively, with the Democratic party being rebranded the Justice Party, similar to how Gallagher rebranded the GOP into the Liberators.
    • Barron Trump serves as the SAC's equivalent to the RDC's Chesa Boudin in Upon a Cross of Globalism, with Chelsea Clinton filling in UACOG Barron Trump's role in the 2052 election.
  • Right-Wing Militia Fanatic: The Save America Compact, initially founded as an alliance of Republican-led state governments created to resist the policies of the federal government, quickly turns to terrorism when their efforts to overturn the Democratic Party's reforms through the ballot box fail.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here:
    • Donald Trump resigns in a fit of rage following the 2022 midterms after Democrats almost secure 80 senators along with a 260 house majority. He blames his own party for not doing enough to stop them, and his supporters for "betraying" him.
    • Marjorie Taylor Greene resigns from Congress several months after her failed Presidential bid due to being unpopular amongst her party.
    • Tucker Carlson quits Fox News live on air after Maddow wins a second term, saying:
"Welp, folks, America's doomed. I'm not going to just sit here and watch this country be run into the ground by the left. I'm quitting and going off grid, see you all never"
    • Madison Cawthorn tries to do this in 2043 to avoid impeachment once Stephen Miller's plans to massacre Democratic voters and politicians comes to light, only for Acting-President Ramirez-Rosa to have him arrested several months later.
    • Following the ratification of the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC), many conservatives emigrate to Eastern Europe in 2044 in hopes of their views being better received. The demand causes such nations to establish quotas.
  • Shout-Out: Courtney O'Halloran, prime Minister of Canada during Ojeda's Presidency, is a portamento of Courtney and Blaineley O'Halloran from Total Drama
  • Sole Survivor: Ron DeSantis is the only major GOP politician to avoid getting arrested or killed during Ojeda's Proscription, largely because he kept a low profile.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Following Stephen Miller's "Snakes and Judases" comment, most of the GOP abandons him, and dozens of Republicans in congress end up voting to impeach him.
  • The Good King: The timeline centers around Presidents Maddow, Ossoff, and especially Ojeda being this. Their policies drastically improve the US economy, human rights record, political and electoral freedoms, and standing in world.
  • The Purge: Ojeda's Proscription is a more benevolent, if not still violent one. The Save America Compact, and with it 95% of the GOP, are arrested or killed in a massive counterterrorism operation orchestrated by Richard Ojeda and done through various federal and law enforcement agencies, the US military and national guard, left-wing militias and counter-protestors, foreign troops, and even street gangs.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • Jon Ossoff calls out Rick Scott and the GOP for their association with Trump at the second presidential debate in 2032.
    • Richard Ojeda calls out the Save America Compact shortly before the beginning of Ojeda's Proscription in 2049.
Richard Ojeda: "My fellow Americans, the America that we know and love, the one we have worked so hard to get to where it is now, is on the verge of destruction, not by a foreign enemy, but by the fascists and reactionaries that seek to ruin it from within with their toxic false patriotism, far-right jingoist priorities and an agenda which would make the dictators and tyrants of past blush. They claim to love America, but in reality they only care about their idea of America; a racist, misogynistic, anti-LGBT, ableist America which screws over the poor, disadvantaged, and those different from the white, rich, straight Christian male. They claim to love freedom, but only their idea of freedom, which is reserved for the white male Christian, whilst discriminating against everyone else. They value Jingoistic nationalism over integration with the world, social stagnation and regression over progress and change, Xenophobia over acceptance of those who are different, and injustice over justice. The results of their efforts, throughout history, have been only misery, violence, and death. Rejected by the ballot box and the American people as ideals and values change with time, the reactionaries have resolved to using brute force to take power. Far-right militias and rioters are preparing to storm capitols and overthrow the government to achieve their goals as I speak. Only days of opportunity remain to stop their catastrophic plans from coming to fruition at the cost of the blood of tens of millions of innocents. I ask the American people to join our military, National Guard, foreign volunteers and law enforcement to stop the reactionaries from carrying out their So-called "Second American Revolution" which will put the dictator Barron Trump into office if successful. I ask for the American people's unrelenting courage and undaunted strength in numbers to suppress this Insurrection. Together we can eliminate the reactionaries once and for all. In your capable hands is the fate of the United States and everything it stands for, Anything less than victory is unacceptable. May God be with us in these darkest hours, and may God bless the United States!"
    • Marjorie Taylor Greene lambasts Trump for passing the Covid Relief Act of 2021
"The fact that Donald Trump is willing to accept socialism and collaborate with Democrats shows us that he betrayed his supporters and gave up his ideals. it's sickening, and any sane patriot would declare that Trump is dead to him or her."
  • The Remnant: After Ojeda's Proscription purges the vast majority of American right-wingers, the only people remaining in what used to be the GOP are the libertarians, conservative leaning independents, and socially liberal fiscally conservative Rockefeller Republicans. These groups, along with the Libertarian party (which was oddly left alone) coalesce into the Union Party.
  • Taking You with Me: During Ojeda's Proscription, hundreds of thousands of Far-right protestors, militia groups, and politicians attempt to do this, knowing their efforts will ultimately fail but still refusing to go down without a fight, most notably Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Eddie Gallagher.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: Rachel Maddow's domestic and foreign policies cause her to become one of the most beloved presidents in American history. Downplayed with Jon Ossoff, who is still popular, but less so due largely to the Thomas Jefferson Church-State Separation Act. Played oh so straight with Richard Ojeda, who is seen as a hero by virtually the entirety of the country, barring the far-right after disposing of President Miller.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Donald Trump is viewed as this by the Republican party, as his presidency started the slow death of the GOP in American politics. Before his death, DeSantis laments ever supporting Trump for bringing about the end of conservatism in the United States.
  • Velvet Revolution: Starting with Belarus and Russia, many of the world's autocratic and authoritarian regimes are toppled with these, most notably Iran and the Persian Gulf countries. Brazil under Eduardo Bolsonaro is toppled in 2042, and Cuba's government resigns in 2045. The largest of these revolutions is the Chinese government under Xi Jinping being toppled with a massive people power revolution in 2038.
  • You Have No Idea Who You're Dealing With:
    • In the 2024 election, Multiple election polls and pundits predict a clear Maddow win, stating that it will be impossible for DeSantis to win the 2024 election. Rick Scott suffers this in 2032 as well.
    • Stephen Miller, while able to organize a grassroots movement and eek out a narrow win in 2040, severely underestimates just how powerful the Democrats have become at the time he is elected in 2040. Upon taking office, the Democratic party is able to effectively castrate his administration and he is ultimately booted in 2043.
    • Ojeda warns the SAC that their attempts at defying his administration will be futile. While Ojeda is in office, the Save America Compact tries everything in their power to stop Ojeda from carrying out his agenda but fails miserably, and once they begin to openly revolt against Ojeda, he ruthlessly suppresses their "uprising" in an operation known as Ojeda's Proscription.
  • You Are Too Late:
    • Stephen Miller manages to win in 2040 through legal maneuvering in Virginia, however, the Democratic party has irreversibly shifted the nation's domestic and foreign policies in their favor, and Miller is unable to do anything meaningful thanks to Democrats maintaining control of the house and a strong Democratic filibuster in the senate. He is ultimately booted in 2043 after his self-coup comes to light.
    • The Author's explanation of why the Save America Compact was doomed from the beginning when asked a What If scenario of if they had won lampshades this
Hal Jordan: They couldn't. They were severely outnumbered and outmatched by Ojeda and his supporters, both inside and outside the country. Even if they did somehow win, the entire world would come down on them like a group of rabid animals and would quickly remove them from power with the help of the local population and Democratic (or Justice in this case) state governments and restore Ojeda's government to power. There was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY they'd be able to maintain power for even a month before being violently overthrown in a counter-coup. The Republicans by that point were so weak, disorganized, disunited and ineffectual that not even open rebellion could help them. There was an inter-party civil war between Trumpists, who were far-right and essentially fascist, and populists, who wanted to tone down a lot of the social rhetoric but still undo all the progress done by Maddow, Ossoff and Ojeda. There were also liberals, libertarians, moderates and anti-SAC conservatives within the party that only added fuel to the fire. Also, the SAC states had a lot of angry liberals and Ojeda supporters within them, eating at them from the inside like a tapeworm. This had the consequence of Arkansas, South Carolina, South Dakota, Louisiana, Mississippi, Indiana, and West Virginia exiting the SAC and many counties within Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota and Idaho defecting to the Justice Party, either legitimately switching sides or defecting out of self-preservation. By 2049, the GOP was doomed. The Republican party ceased to exist as a legitimate opposition at that point and basically had the luck of OTL Belarus' opposition. The formation of the SAC only bought the GOP time and stalled the inevitable, and nothing more.
  • 0% Approval Rating:
    • By the end of Trump's presidency, even his most hardcore supporters have soured on him due to his failure to implement the policies they desire, with his funeral receiving paltry attendance.
    • Stephen Miller suffers from this even worse than Trump. Almost no one likes him during his short-lived presidency, and when Miller makes his "Snakes and Judases" comment, many in the Republican party turn on him.
