For as long as she's known she's been under the care of the state and, according to their policies, she's learned various martial arts since childhood. Ever since meeting her twin brother, who suddenly appeared, she's become enrolled in this prefecture's only high school for delinquents, Shishiku Academy, in her brother's place.
- Action Girl: Hinako is definitely this. She regularly wins the fights instigated by the other delinquents.
- All the Other Reindeer: She was bullied by the other kids at the orphanage. When she became strong enough to fight back, the other kids ostracized her.
- Boyish Short Hair: Had this haircut even before she met Hikaru, allowing her to more easily pretend to be a boy.

- Separated at Birth: Due to Isamu, their father's, fear of getting her involved in the yakuza war with the Urashima Group, he sent Hinako and her mother to the countryside. When the war did end, Hinako and her mother had disappeared. Though Hinako was to be found later, having been raised by the Suzukaze Orphanage.
- Sweet Polly Oliver: Disguised as her male twin, Hinako finds it difficult to blend in with her very masculine schoolmates.

The heroine's twin brother. Following the customs of his family he was enrolled in Shishiku Academy but upon learning of the existence of his twin sister he swapped places with her. In exchange, he entered an all-girls school as his younger sister. He enjoys his life of wearing female clothing and being a female high school student.
- Dude Looks Like a Lady: He has the same delicate features as Hinako. This lets him easily take Hinako's place at her school, with none the wiser.
- Angsty Surviving Twin: Hinako most certainly didn't die, but she did go missing. While his sister was raised as an orphan, he grew up in the Onigashima yakuza family.
- Hates Being Alone: As mentioned above, Hikaru suffers from monophobia.
- Half-Identical Twins: Looks exactly like Hinako.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's kind of a dick to Hinako, essentially blackmailing her into taking his place at school upon their first meeting. He also abuses Sakaguchi regularly (not that he doesn't deserve it...). That said, he's occasionally goes out of his way to cheer Hinako up when she's upset.

Just after he entered school he talked big about crushing the class but then had his ass kicked by the heroine. After that, he recognized her superiority and became a close friend. As a person who isn't two faced and is a good-natured person to interact with, he treasures bonds between people and will help others without compensation. Even though he's together with the heroine more often than anyone else, he's a thickheaded person who hasn't noticed at all that she's a girl.
- Defeat Equals Friendship: After being knocked out cold by Hinako, he becomes her first friend.
- Dumb Blonde: He's not stupid, per se, but he's not very observant. He's apparently good at studying though.
- Friend to All Children: Kids love him, probably because he's a kid at heart.

In the class beside the heroine, he is the strongest in their grade. As a user of jiu-jitsu he fights regardless of his physique. In regard to the heroine, who is smaller than everyone else, he feels a kindred spirit and is kind to her somewhat. But, because he dislikes females under the prejudice that "females = weak", never in his wildest dreams would he think that the heroine is a girl.
- Big Brother Instinct: Despite normally being disinterested in fighting, he challenges Hinako to a fight when he thinks that she hurt his little brother.
- Debt Detester: Becomes Hinako's friend in order to repay her for helping his brother.
- Headphones Equal Isolation: He sports a pair of headphones and is often alone.
- The Napoleon: He's only an inch taller than Hinako, causing him to consider her a kindred spirit. He doesn't like fighting, but he doesn't take challenges lying down.

It is said that his abilities and strength are number one among the second year delinquents. But this is just noise from the people around him and the person himself is unconcerned about competing for the top. A taciturn boy who dislikes hanging out with people, he's always doing things alone.
- Abusive Parents: His mother ignored him while his father beat him. Once his mother remarried, he was beaten by his step-father.
- Childhood Friend: With Hinako in the orphanage.
- Childhood Friend Romance: If the player so chooses.
- Friendship Trinket: Rintarou gave Hinako a string bracelet before he left the orphanage. In the manga, this allows him to recognize her when they meet again in high school.
- I Am Not My Father: As a child, he nearly beat up another kid at the orphanage. Hinako stopped him before he could, causing him to realize that he didn't want to become abusive like his dad.

A second-year delinquent. It is said that he has the abilities and strength to rival Kira. During middle school, he was a delinquent who was strong enough to rule the school, but all of a sudden he turned over and became an idol. He's always floating around with a grin but somewhere, under that surface, there is a deep part of him that he lets no one enter.
- Awesomeness by Analysis: Immediately identifies Hinako as a girl. Only Rintarou was able to see through her disguise and that's because he knew her in the past.
- Chivalrous Pervert: Mirako is constantly surrounded by fangirls, who he treats courteously even though he's a delinquent.
- Cynicism Catalyst: He used to be much friendlier and outgoing. His former friends betrayed him and ganged up on him, causing him to forswear friendship as pointless from then on.
- Idol Singer: He's a famous idol singer. Hikaru is a big fan.
- Stepford Smiler: He's very lonely, but keeps a smile on whenever he's in public.

Hinako and Hikaru's older brother, born from a different mother, but the details are unknown. From a young age, he lived separately from Hikaru and has a prejudice against him. Entering Shishiku Academy, according to the customs of the Onigashima family, he carries the legend of ruling the school within a month.
- Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Ruffles Hinako's hair and then picks her up and twirls her around, all with a sparkly background.
- Big Brother Instinct: Or, more obviously, a brother complex. He's absolutely sparkling with happiness when Hinako call him, "Onii-chan." He'll do all sorts of things to make sure she's happy and comfortable.
- Coat Cape: Wears his coat draped across his shoulders.
- Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Houou has quite the name for himself as the "Legendary Banchou," who took down Shishiku a month after enrolling.
- Not Blood Siblings: He's not actually related to Hikaru or Hinako. He was adopted by Isamu Onigashima after the yakuza war.

The young leading subordinate of Onigashima's henchmen and Hikaru's caretaker. He's a graduate of Shishiku Academy. Under "Hikaru's order", he'll throw everything away to prioritize Hikaru but Hikaru is disgusted with him. As the only person who knows about Hikaru and the heroine's switch, he follows up and covers for them with respect to the family's arrangements, formalities, and the like.
- Abhorrent Admirer: He clearly has feelings for Hikaru, but Hikaru does not return them.
- Beleaguered Assistant: He's frequently abused by Hikaru and has to help his young master with his schemes.
