Danny Prikazksky

"I must do better next time, I know I have it in me."
Occupation: Line Cook/Librarian
Age: 21
Hometown: San Jose, CA

  • Bash Brothers: With Ewan, as Ewan was one of the only chefs on the red team who genuinely cared for Danny and helped him get better.
  • Breakout Character: Danny made several appearances after his season, some where he judged a challenge, and in one episode where he celebrated his marriage.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: Narrowly averted this. In the wild game challenge, Danny would come up with the idea to try and serve vulture as his dish. Ewan would very quickly point out the problems with this, stating that could easily get someone sick, and there would be no defending that.
  • Dark Horse Victory: As much as Danny proved to be a strong chef, he still had to go up against Jangue, however, Danny's leadership would manage to surpass Jangue's and Hal's, resulting in him winning.
  • The Determinator: Despite all the bullying he received from Jangue and Kelly, Danny never gave up trying, which paid off big-time for him in the end.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Throughout the entire competition, Danny was put down by Jangue and Kelly relentlessly, and once Ewan and Mehgan were sent home, Danny was left alone without any real friends. Danny however would not give up and managed to defeat Jangue and Hal in the finals to win.
  • Extreme Doormat: Initially started out as this, due to his weak signature dish and being seen as a weak link. Once he gained a voice in the kitchen however, he got more confident.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Despite all the bullying and putting down he received, Danny would preserve to win the season.
  • Heroic BSoD: After his poor performance in the fourth episode despite a strong start, Danny would be absolutely devastated, and it took Ewan and Mehgan cheering him up to come out of his rut.
  • Morality Pet: In a sense became this to Ewan, as Ewan would attempt to encourage Danny throughout the entire competition and never once put him down.
  • Nervous Wreck: Started out as this, with him doubting himself in his performances, which eventually came to a head when Danny, after having a strong performance on apps, messed up on the fish station.
  • Nice Guy: Easily one of the nicest chefs of the season.
  • Number Two: Upon his return in All-Stars as the sous chef to Chef Toasty, he became this. He is often the one directly assisting him and overseeing the contestants during services and punishments.
  • Offscreen Romance: During the season and seasons after, it was revealed that Danny had started a relationship with 19th placer, Denise.
  • Power Trio: With Droidette and Shaun.
  • The Rival: With Jangue, due to Jangue's jerkish attitude.
  • Surpassed the Teacher: Upon his return in All-Stars as a sous chef, he became this to Ewan.
  • Took a Level in Badass: At the start of the season, Danny was a relatively mediocre, if not outright bad performer in services, which often resulted in him being picked on and being considered a weak link. In the fifth episode however, Danny improved to the extent he was named the Best of the Worst, and he carried that momentum all the way to the win.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Danny, despite his strides in the competition, was constantly put down by the likes of Jangue and Kelly. It only made his victory that much sweeter.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Despite being a twenty-one year old chef who also was a librarian, Danny was one of the better chefs this season, and the eventual winner.
  • What Were You Thinking?: Danny was very close to serving vulture as one of his dishes, which garnered this reaction from Ewan.
Placement: Winner
Danny's Winner Comment - "Yes! Oh my god I did it! I can't believe it, I won! I came into this competition, thinking I wasn't going to last, but I pushed through, and kept going and kept and I finally did it!"
Ramsay's Winner Comment - "This was a very tough decision, but what made Danny win tonight was his passion, his clear leadership, his excellent cooking, and most important, his heart. Heart is something that doesn't come along often in a chef, and Danny has a lot of it. I know that Danny will go on to do great things as my next head chef, and I couldn't be prouder."

Jangue Lipperbottom

  • Badass Bookworm: Whenever he's not being unpleasant to his fellow chefs, Jangue is usually studying. He puts that knowledge to pretty good use.

Hal Emmerich

Craig Alexander

Hunter Morgan

Tanner Jackson

Kelly Patel

Akshay Thakur

Droidette

Shaun O'Neale

Michael Morbius

Ewan McMurphy

"The power of Scotland courses through my veins!"
Occupation: Butcher
Age: 34
Hometown: Boston, MA

  • The Ace: One of the stronger chefs of the season, up until his injury.
  • Achilles' Heel: Usually had problems with timing during service.
  • Batman Gambit: Took one in the first episode, deciding to nominate Smelly to be the leader in order have him crash and get eliminated. And it actually worked!
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While one of the nicest chefs of the season, he has his limits. He absolutely exploded at Chris when he tried to sabotage him during the Cook for your life challenge.
  • Berserk Button: As Smelly was unfortunate enough to find out, insulting his heritage.
  • Big Beautiful Man: Despite being a big guy, actually was considered to be pretty good looking.
  • Big Fun: The biggest guy of the season, and one of the more open chefs of the season.
  • Brave Scot: Will usually go to bat for weaker chefs, and was not afraid to stand up for anyone.
  • Cool Old Guy: Downplayed example since he's only 34, but was among the oldest of the season.
  • Crack Defeat: Only usually reserved for challenges, but Ewan would usually lose to other chefs in challenges under very bizarre circumstances. The best example of this was when his well-received dish lost to a piece of salmon.
  • Deadpan Snarker: While overall being a nice guy, he'll make some snarky comments towards chefs he dislikes.
  • The Determinator: After his injury, he tried his hardest to stay in the game, and managed to make it to the start of service. Sadly, his injury nearly resulted in him passing out, and was eventually forced to withdraw from the game.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: During the bus ride, Ewan's Scottish accent was far more heavily pronounced, to the extent it was borderline impossible to understand anything he was saying. It was quickly dropped however due to how heavily complicated it was.
  • Expy: Of Declan from Season 19. Both were loud and proud chefs of foreign descent who were among the best on their teams.
  • Father to His Men: Incredibly protective of his team, and is willing to help however he can. This is likely one of the main reasons why Craig and Danny managed to last so long.
  • Fiery Redhead: Pretty much whenever he's mad.
  • Fingore: Ended up degloving his hand during a punishment, resulting in him being forced to drop out.
  • Hot-Blooded: Definitely, especially when it comes to cooking meat.
  • I Coulda Been a Contender!: Ewan was a very strong chef throughout the season, and based on his form, he could have made to black jackets at least had he not been eliminated. He actually manages to do in his return in Season 24, making it all the way to third place.
  • Large Ham: It's very clear that he enjoyed his time on the show, and it made him extremely popular.
  • The Mentor: To Danny and Craig.
  • Nice Guy: One of the nicer chefs of the season.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: He ends up degloving his hand during a punishment, and is forced to drop out of the competition.
  • Papa Wolf: Very defensive of both Danny and Mehgan, with the latter particularly when it came to Chris.
  • Pet the Dog: Gave pep talks to Danny and Craig as they were clearly struggling during service. Clearly, it helped them both out.
  • Rage Breaking Point: While he did get annoyed with chefs who were rude like Smelly and Jangue, the one time he truly blew up was when Chris "accidentally" poured water on his dish in the Cook For Your Life challenge.
  • The Right Hand of Doom: Self-Inflicted example, as it was Ewan's right hand that was injured and forced him to drop out.
  • The Rival: With Smelly and eventually Chris.
  • Scotireland: Has been mistaken for Irish a few times, much to his mild annoyance.
  • Violent Glaswegian: Of the cooking kind as he is the first chef in the show that came from Scotland.

Ben Hampton

Chris Atieh

  • Abhorrent Admirer: To Mehgan, to the extent it got Ewan legitimately mad at him.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: He served as the primary source of conflict throughout the first few episodes, before being eliminated and the role of main antagonist going to Jangue.
  • Hate Sink: With his smug behavior and attitude towards Mehgan, he was this.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: During the Cook For Your Life Challenge, he tried to sabotage Ewan by spilling water on his chicken and claiming it was an accident. However, not only did his own dish not come out right, but in the final round, his dish lost out to Ewan's, resulting in his elimination.
  • Out of Focus: Didn't stand out a whole lot for the first few episodes.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Compared to his brother in the following season, Brent, Chris is far more of a jerk and a much worse performer, while Brent was a far more affable chef and better overall.
  • Smug Snake: Easily his most defining trait. He constantly got under the nerves of other chefs, was incredibly jerkish towards them, and even tried to sabotage others on a few occasions.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After not really standing out for a while and putting in quite a few mediocre performances, he wound up being labeled as the best of the worst in the final sixteen episode. Unfortunately for him, he was gone the very next episode.

Mehgan Gill

Robert Kemp

Moe Fleming

Marcy Thomas

Denise Sunflower

Smelly Flash

"My name is Smelly, and I just wanna say, I'm gonna win this season!"
'''Occupation: Executive Chef
Age: 39
Hometown: ???, AL

  • Cool Old Guy: He was the oldest of the season, but that didn’t stop him from subverting this trope hilariously (not really).
  • Deadpan Snarker: Had moments of this even in his short stay.
  • Epic Fail: Everything, literally everything. From his awful signature dish to his poor performance in service, he was not long for the competition.
  • Giftedly Bad: Smelly believed himself to have loads of talent and leadership skills. Everyone else realized pretty quickly that he was downright horrible.
  • Hated by All: He managed to get on the bad side of everyone on his team very quickly. The blue team was very happy that they didn’t have to deal with him.
  • Jerkass: He always talked down to people and argued with them during service.
    • Like his signature dish, featuring a salmon which he cooked for FORTY-FIVE SECONDS. Ironically he kept saying he was unimpressed with everyone’s dish to an almost exhausting extent.
    • Then there’s his first service on meat, where he completely screwed the kitchen and argued with his teammates.
    • Because he was technically the team leader, he chose the nominees for the episode, but Ramsay eliminated him anyways for obvious reasons.
  • The Leader: This was technically Smelly’s role for the team, after he kinda forced his way into it during deliberation prior to the signature dish challenge. Granted that was mainly because Ewan realized that if the team failed, it would be on him.
  • Leader Wannabe: For someone who was supposed to be the leader, he certainly didn’t lead during service.
  • No Indoor Voice: He was very loud in the kitchen.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Certainly thought of himself as a great chef even though everything he did in the kitchen seemed to prove otherwise.
  • Unfortunate Name: His first name is Smelly.
