    Main Characters

Protagonist/“Kyouji Kuzunoha”

  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Once he takes over Kyouji's body, he also keeps his white suit. Unlike Kyouji, he wears it open.
  • Becoming the Mask: He starts the game as an ordinary college student before getting sucked into the life of a Devil Summoner while acting as if he were Kyoji Kuzunoha. By the end of the game he's acknowledged as just as great, if not an even greater Devil Summoner than Kyoji was.
  • Body Surf: The crux of the game. After being killed by Sid, he gets sent into Kyoji's body by Charon thanks to that body still being operational. He then goes on to live Kyoji's Devil Summoner life for himself.
  • Escaped from Hell: The protagonist pulls this off after Kyouji betrays him and sends them to Avici.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: One of the big differences between the protagonist and Kyoji despite having the same body is that the protagonist has his hair slicked up.

Kumiko Hatano

  • Damsel in Distress: She's kidnapped by Sid and his allies in order to use her as Inaruna's new body, being a direct descendant.
  • Decoy Protagonist: She’s the girlfriend of the protagonist so you’d be forgiven to think that she’ll be this games Heroine… she not.

    Kuzunoha Detective Agency

Kyoji Kuzunoha

  • Anti-Hero: An anti-demon detective who wants to keep the peace in Hirasaka, even if it means taking care of people who aren't suppose to know what's really happening.
  • Asshole Victim: He turns out to be one, considering that he tried exploiting your death and all. He ultimately loses his body to you permanently, leaving him no choice but to possess others to survive.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: He wears a three-buttoned white suit and is a fearsome demon hunter, living up to his family name.
  • Grand Theft Me: He falls victim to this after his soul is separated from his body. He spends much of the game trying to take it back, but ultimately fails due to him being separated from it for too long.
  • One-Man Army: His first display of strength in the game shows that he's practically a bulldozer to the first dungeon of the game, clearing it and its boss while the protagonist is dragged along without even summoning any demons.
