Hope in the dark

Due to a series of accidental events, five young men find themselves in the modern world
surrounded by things they’ve never encountered before.
However, they continue on their journey to accomplish each of their goals by turning to the marvel of the Internet.

Channel: YouTube

The first three waves of Nijisanji EN consisted entirely of women. As the other branches of Nijisanji feature men and women, ANYCOLOR held auditions explicitly calling for male talent. The members of Nijisanji EN's fourth wave, Luxiem, were selected from these auditions; they debuted in December 2021.

Luxiem

    In general
  • Breakout Character: Luxiem soon became the most popular wave of the English branch, which positively impacted the branch as whole, with the branch receiving more exposure and merchandise, sponsorship deals and collaborations with other brands, and being often promoted alongside the Japanese side of the main branch. Luxiem received an exclusive channel for their unit, being the only English wave to have one, and they released their second single around six to seventh months after their debut, while LazuLight released their second single for their 2nd anniversary.
  • Five-Token Band: Lampshaded by Shu, as he's the only American of the five. Vox and Mysta are British, with the latter also being half-Filipino, Luca is Australian and Ike is Swedish.
  • Foil: Luxiem as a whole have this dynamic with Noctyx. Luxiem is the light unit, with most members being from transferred from the past. Noctyx is the dark unit that came from the future.
  • Testosterone Poisoning: Luxiem also call themselves "THE BOYS", something that is so exaggerated that it frightened Elira.
  • Time Travel: A theme they share with Noctyx, with Luxiem being primarily comprised of members from the past. Luca, Mysta and Shu were transported from the past to the present, Ike was transported from the future to the present, and Vox lived through for over 400 years to the present day.

    Luca Kaneshiro

Luca Kaneshiro [JP: ルカ・カネシロ]

"Pog!"

"A Mafia boss from the past with a slight temper.
Always down for a fight, whether it’s to show-off his own strength or to protect the weak."
— Official profile

Debut date: December 19, 2021
Birthday: April 10
Languages spoken: English (native), Tagalog (conversational), Japanese (learning), "Grill" (fluent)
Illustrator: oyo
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: 25 (23 at debut)
Height: 178 cm
Occupation: Mafia Boss

  • Afraid of Needles: By his own admission, Luca is terrified of syringes and needles. Though this begs the question of how he got all those tattoos...
  • Ambiguous Situation: It's unclear if his Attractive Bent-Gender character Lucy is intended to be just a voice he's doing, or if she's a completely separate character, as Luca will refer to her either way.
  • Animal Motifs: Officially, Luca is associated with lions, such as his plush lion companion, Augustus. However, many of his fans liken him to a Golden Retriever, given his energetic and friendly demeanor combined with his blond hair. Some of his other colleagues also compare him to a "(lost) dog".
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Subverted. While not blood-related to the other EN livers, he does often play the "younger brother" type towards some of the older EN livers and calls them by Japanese Sibling Terminology. He also annoys them whenever he can. Petra has voiced her opinion of him as an "annoying younger brother"; and Reimu is so far the only one who knows how to make him stop: by following along with his antics like how a caretaker plays along with a kindergarden child.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Lucy, the name for his "grill" persona.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: He's definitely the most physically fit in Luxiem and is clad in a white pinstripe suit.
  • Cassandra Truth: He has a good intuition when it comes to figuring out Impostors in Among Us, but most of the time, the others don't believe him. He's right most of the time, but the way he's acting suspiciously doesn't help him at all.
  • Character Catchphrase: "[Insert word]? I LOVE [Insert word]!" Often regardless of whether he actually likes it or not. Or even knows what it is.
  • Comedic Sociopathy: During his collab of A Way Out with Ike, when the boys are prompted to torture an NPC for information, he happily jumps towards the most violent options available to Ike's bewilderment.
  • Crossdressing Voices: Professes that he can speak "grill", as in he can do a rather convincing female voice.
  • D-Cup Distress: A rare male example Played for Laughs. He desperately tries to downplay the fact that he has the largest chest in NijiEN, with other livers often saying that he's "built like a fridge". He grows more distraught over a tweet that suggests that he even beats out the incredibly busty Scarle in chest size.
  • Dark Horse Victory: During a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe stream with his chat, Luca goes for a pee break, but his chat starts the race without him, giving them a big head start. He eventually comes back and manages to win thanks to the various good items he got for being at last/lower ranked place.
  • Death Glare: Despite his very happy nature, Luca's AFK face can be this.
  • The Ditz: He has his moments of ditziness that make his fans call him a himbo. The crowning moment is that it took him nine months after his debut to notice that his shirt is very tight around his chest.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Not a fan of vegetables in general, but his absolute least favorite are olives.
  • The Don: He's the boss of a mafia gang from the past. He usually tries to convince his chat and others that he's an mean and evil boss, but aside from Scarle who calls him an "evil, mean mafia boss man", he is not most of the time.
  • Evil Laugh: Being an evil mafia boss, he indulges in this from time to time.
  • Frame-Up: Happens to him during a spontaneous Among Us collab, where Pomu kills in front of Luca and successfully pushes the blame on him, getting him ejected.
  • The Gadfly: In large collabs, he's generally seen messing with other people to rile them up. He's particularly fond of doing this to Pomu because of her short fuse, with her chasing Luca around and yelling at him as if he was an Annoying Younger Sibling of sorts.
    • He also spends a significant amount of time making trouble in Minecraft, such as trapping Alban by putting obsidian walls over his spawn point or making off with Uki's bookcase (causing Uki to call Sonny on him). Not to mention how just about anyone who goes AFK around him returns to find themself buried in a hole.
    • He also frequently pranks Scarle, to the point that he might as well be her Sitcom Arch-Nemesis.
  • Got Me Doing It: Several of the other members have talked about how Luca's liberal usage of "pog" has started to rub off on them.
  • Groin Attack: During his playthrough of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, he watches Raiden get a beatdown by Senator Armstrong. While Armstrong is standing above Raiden, he's yelling at the screen for Raiden to do this. Even during the Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs scene where Armstrong tanks every punch, he still wants Raiden to give him a low blow.
  • Handicapped Badass: Downplayed, but Luca is more than capable of playing Ring Fit Adventure on the hardest difficulty setting for several hours straight, while chatting with his viewers and singing in both his regular and Lucy voices, despite having what he describes as fairly severe asthma.
  • Harmless Villain: He keeps trying to be mean and evil, but he fails most of the time. He's a very nice person and is The Gadfly at worst.
  • Hates Being Called Cute: Anyone calling him cute is liable to be answered with "I'm not cute! I'm mean and evil!"
  • Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: Comes across as this, due to the sheer dissonance between his lore and personality. Despite being a mafia boss who insists he's actually "mean and evil", he's just too friendly and cheerful to really earn that title.
  • In-Series Nickname: His fanbase and occasionally the other livers refer to him as "boss", given his occupation.
  • Keet: Despite his impressive physical build and his job as a mafia boss, Luca's extroverted and childish behavior gives the girls the vibe of a younger brother instead, as Enna and Petra can attest. The general consensus of what role he would have if Luxiem were a family, Luca would be one of the youngest brothers, as other members like Ike or Shu have said it.
  • Land Down Under: He reveals that he lives in Australia during his debut, naturally while talking about his fear of bugs and how viewers might be treated to him freaking out over one. Naturally, he's a member of NijiAU, alongside Sonny Brisko, Maria Marionette, Ren Zotto and Ban Hada.
  • The Leader: It turns out that he's the leader of Luxiem which he forgot about that until he remembers it after watching the Holostars English debut. Though he does admit that he sees everybody in his group as equals, he does possess leadership skills, particularly in arranging some collabs and being in charge of the Minecraft EN server.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Part of what makes him a Keet is that he's treated like a younger brother by Enna and Petra, respectively. Luca calls Enna in particular "Onee-chan".
  • The Load: Whenever they are playing Among Us and Luca happens to be a crewmate, he's more often a detriment than an asset and he rarely does tasks, even as a ghost.
  • The Mafia: Carries himself as a "mean and evil" mafia boss, but considering his personality, everyone finds it a bit difficult to take him seriously.
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: His range is wide enough that he can do both convincing girl voices and gravelly, evil voices. He puts both to good use during a Friday the 13th: The Game collab with several other EN members, briefly imitating one of the girls as a taunt and using his deep gravelly voice while playing as Jason (which scared the daylights out of Petra, much to his amusement). He can also do a good Vox impression.
  • Meaningful Name: "Kaneshiro" is a real Japanese name that means "golden palace", fitting his color scheme and rich mafia image.
  • Momma's Boy: He's quite close with his mother and has brought her up quite a few times, even citing that one of his earliest memories was lying between her arms on her motorcycle. He also said that she was who inspired him to start track running when he was younger.
  • Motifs: His transition screen gives him a light poker motif alongside his Animal Motifs above.
  • Nice Guy: During his birthday stream in 2023, Luca watches the video "What is Luca Kaneshiro to NIJI EN", where numerous livers from numerous branches and few guests describe how nice he is, and that he is like either a brother or a dog. Conveniently, Scarle's opinion about him is nowhere to be seen.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: He began his Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy stream by labelling it as an endurance stream and talking about how bad he was. Once he actually started though, the presence of a invoked Speedrun timer overlay and a golden cauldron, awarded after 50 wins, made it clear it wasn't his first rodeo which he proved by getting sub-11 and sub-8 minute clears.
  • Oblivious to Love: A running gag is Luca's apparent inability to recognize or notice when someone is flirting with him or having lewd terminology fly over his head, leading his fans to jokingly dub him a "dense harem protagonist". On the rare occasion where this is subverted, attempts at flirting directed at Luca leave him stuttering in response.
Monarch: You wanna go toe to toe with me, pretty boy~?
Luca: ...Wait, wait, what was that!?
Elira: [laughing] His keys are flustered, he's like pressing A and D, going back and forth, and like "wh-wh-wh-wh-what was that!?"
    Luca: Shut up! Shut up!!
  • Orgasmic Combat: During the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games collab, Luca and Finana have multiple long and intense boxing matches. Their dialogue and the noises they make sound very suggestive if watched on Selen's POV, as she and Rosemi cannot see what the two are doing.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Luca is easily the most athletic member of Luxiem, and it shows in his muscular frame (mostly the chest area). He's almost always up for a challenge. He loves barbecue. He's also an unapologetic Momma's Boy with a knack for housekeeping and a love of jewelry and pretty things.
  • Refuge in Audacity: Most of his "being evil" streams involve slinging insults around so abruptly the targets are more confused than offended.
Luca: Hey, Legatus! You don't have a dick!
    Fulgur: ... I'm sorry, what?
  • The Rival: He was track runner in his younger days and had a rival, a girl who was also his neighbor, with whom he ran early in the morning. He was even attracted to her at some point. The similarity to Pomu's story about her childhood rival did not escape his chat's notice. Naturally, he and Pomu develop a rivalry early on in his career, which is acknowledged by their fans and fellow livers.
  • Singing Voice Dissonance: He normally speaks in a very energetic, jolly tone of voice, but his cover of "Mafia" has him sing in a considerably deeper, almost menacing tone.
  • Tattooed Crook: As part of his mafia image, he has tattoos on his back, arms and chest. According to him, they represent the fiery spirit of the Kaneshiro family.
  • Time Travel: He was transported from the 1960s to the present day.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: He's become associated with cheddar cheese Pringles after he showed off an entire box of them he ordered onstream. He also has a taste for barbecue.
  • Vague Age: Averted. Unlike the rest of the English branch at the time of his debut (and more in line with the other branches of Nijisanji), he does specify an actual physical age. That said, he also brings up that the fact that he is from the past means that he is technically much, much older.
  • Verbal Tic: "Pog!"
  • What's a Henway?: Anyone who watches his streams to the end would know that he's especially fond of pulling these jokes, particularly of the "Deez Nuts" variety, on his chat. Apparently, he got the idea from Ike.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He always shrieks in panic whenever an insect or spider appears during his streams.

    Shu Yamino

Shu Yamino [JP: 闇ノシュウnote ]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shu_17.png
"Eyyyyyyy!"

"A sorcerer from the past with mysterious abilities.
Though kind-hearted, he can call down a malediction upon those who wrong him."
— Official profile

Debut date: December 19, 2021
Birthday: May 2
Languages spoken: English (native), Japanese (fluent)
Illustrator: 吠L
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: "uhhhhhhhhhh"
Height: 173 cm
Occupation: Sorcerer

  • The Ace: He's one of the most talented in terms of singing in Luxiem and several of the members remark on his reliability and handiness with tech.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Often called “Shuey-Shu” by Mysta.
  • Animal Motif: Due to the color of his bangs and him hanging around with Petra a lot, he's been been called a penguin by other livers, with him and Petra being also referred to as the "penguin siblings".
  • Anime Hair: The yellow streak on his bangs is frequently compared to a banana due to its shape.
  • Ascended Fanboy: He was already a long-time Nijisanji fan before joining it.
  • The Benchwarmer: He served as the middle relief pitcher of Igarashi's St. Azarashi High School during the NIJISANJI Koshien 2023, where he substituted for the ace pitcher Honma Himawari whenever she was running low on stamina.
  • Berserk Button: His only clearly defined rule for his chat is that he doesn't tolerate backseating, so any time his chat tries to tell him what to do, Shu will either tell them to stop or do the opposite of what he's been told. While he doesn't go mad, you can still see his Tranquil Fury whenever it happens.
  • Beware the Nice Ones:
    • While not seen on stream so far, he once recalled an incident when he was younger where he violently cursed out some bullies that were picking on him during gym to the point they were scared of him afterwards.
    • During Enna's and Kyo's Savage Tier List, Enna said that she would never roast Shu because she thinks that Shu is hiding some hidden darkness deep inside him, and if he were ever to get "really, really mad", "the whole universe would be in disarray". Enna and Kyo decided to put Shu into his own tier category to stand above the others.
    • Millie and Reimu mentioned on their own separate streams that Shu was angry during a behind-the-scenes meeting and started using Motor Mouth in Japanese. Seeing him angry for the first time made him look hot in Millie's eyes, while Reimu got excited because she understood everything he said, with Reimu claiming that "Shu Yamino has the biggest balls of all NijiEN guys".
  • Character Catchphrase: "Eyyyyyyyyyyy!"
  • Dark Horse Victory: During the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe collab with 12 boys, Shu manages to win a lot of races despite being far behind. By using shortcuts and timely placed items, he manages to go from last place to first place or snatches Ren's victory at the last three seconds out of nowhere.
  • Failed a Spot Check: The clip released on his channel that contains the murder of Wilson during the Among Us section of the latter's birthday party is shown from Shu's (unreleased) POV.note  In said clip, we see Shu's limited vision as well as him noticing the killer running away from the crime scene. However, Shu mistook the color of their overall (grey) for the color of the killer (dark blue), which led to Hex and later Zali being thrown out (the latter being also an impostor). The zoom-in in that clip showed very, very little of the grey overall, yet Shu somehow managed to miss the more prominent dark blue color of the impostor and the even more prominent glow stick on their head, which only Shu and Elira had. The clip also has another zoom-in on the "actual killer's" Evil Laugh which the crew ignored. As the title of his clip indicates, he managed to get the killer's accomplice voted out by pure luck because he managed to notice the least obvious detail of the killer while being oblivious to the most obvious details.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Swears the least out of Luxiem, typically resorting to this.
  • Height Angst: He's the shortest member of Luxiem (alongside Ike) and he's insecure about his height. Even the mentioning of him being the shortest of his wave upsets him.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: He's gained a reputation for being a force to be reckoned with in shooters, most often Valorant, much to the frustration of the more competitive livers.
  • In-Series Nickname: "Shupport", coined for his reliability in both helping the others with technical difficulties or simply acting as moral support.
  • Irony: In spite of being one of the two explicitly supernatural members of Luxiem, he's regarded as the most normal and down-to-earth in terms of personality.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Shu and Petra have developed this dynamic, to the point that they're known as the "penguin siblings". The fact that they both also know how to speak Japanese and lack some sense of orientation helps a lot. They even call each other "otouto" and "Nee-san" once.
  • Meaningful Name: His name 闇ノシュウ is a pun to the kanjis 闇之呪, which translates to "Curse of Darkness". 闇之呪 can be seen on the talisman of his second outfit.
  • Mellow Fellow: He has a notably chill disposition compared to everyone else and isn't easily fazed by things like horror games or the craziness of his friends.
  • Palette Swap: Has three of them so far, which consist of:
    • Hikarino Shu, a version of him with a purple and green color scheme that he bickers with sometimes.
    • Kurano Shu, a grayscale counterpart who speaks like an old-timey radio announcer, complete with an added static effect to his voice.
    • Akarino Shu, a brighter, ghostly version of himself with a higher sing-song voice.
  • Phrase Catcher: Expect his arrival in any of the other livers' chats to be met with a chorus of "eyyyy"s.
  • Pungeon Master: He seems to be a big fan of "I hardly even knew 'er!" type jokes in particular.
  • The Rival: Uki seems to be the one person to actually rile him up more than once by deliberately messing with him in co-op games and one-upping him in the NijiWWE tournament. That said, they still get along. Shu also has a self-made rival in Hikarino.
Hikarino: Yamino is dumb, stupid, dumb, stupid—
    Yamino: Heyheyheyheyhey NO!
  • Running Gag: He will often try to get other livers to play Valorant with him. His love for Valorant gets exploited during the NIJIEN Dating Show (particularly by Wilson), which then culminates in him friend-zoning all the five participants, so that they can play that game together.
  • Ship Tease: Despite being the Token Wholesome member of Luxiem, Shu makes frequent comments about finding Luca attractive. He often appears in Luca’s streams despite living in an inconvenient timezone, and has even ended his own stream to go watch Luca stream.
  • The Smart Guy: He's often considered this to Luxiem for his practicality and liking for computer science.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: In his lore video, his parents and grandmother have the same Anime Hair as him.
  • Stylistic Suck: The lore portion of his debut is built almost entirely with generic clip art, with his hair pasted on a child and two adults to represent himself and his parents. The lore itself involves a young Shu getting knocked into a fire by a super-powered piece of feces and being sent to the present day by God. It Makes Just as Much Sense in Context.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Subverted. He's strongly associated with bananas, but not because he likes them, but because of the shape of the blond parts of his hair. His VR avatar is also a banana.
  • Token Wholesome: Of Luxiem. Shu actively tries to make his streams family-friendly, censoring any profanity and typically not participating in any overt Fanservice. This is further cemented by the fact that he has the highest score out of all the guys on the Rice Purity Testnote  at 95. note
  • Your Mom: Another one of his favorite types of jokes.

    Ike Eveland

Ike Eveland [JP: アイク・イーヴランド]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ike.png
"You smell."

"A Novelist from the past who seems somewhat closed-off.
When an idea for his next work sparks, he becomes a completely different person."
— Official profile

Debut date: December 19, 2021
Birthday: June 12
Languages spoken: Swedish (native), English (fluent), Japanese (conversational)
Illustrator: TCB
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: "Converting was too hard"
Height: 173 (without heels)
Occupation: Novelist

  • Affectionate Nickname: The other Luxiem members enjoy playfully calling him "Ikey Wikey".
  • Alternate Identity Amnesia: He doesn't seem to have any recollection of Eki overriding his Undertale stream. He also mentions at one point that he tends to blank out when talking to Ivy and come to his senses having made her angry with no memory of what exactly he did to get on her nerves, heavily implying it's Eki's influence.
  • Ambiguously Bi: Ike has alluded a few times to having "bi panic" and crushes of multiple genders, but he's never officially stated his sexuality.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Notably, unlike the other members of Luxiem, it's not specified what era he's originally from, how exactly he arrived in the present, or what he's doing in Yugo's version of the future.
  • Animal Motifs: Between Ike's introverted but affectionate personality, his sometimes-biting wit, and his penchant for making squeaking and purring noises without thinking, he's often compared to a cat by his fans. He even has a cat-ears asset he uses on occasion.
  • April Fool's Day Episode: For April Fool's, he did a Minecraft stream where he spoke exclusively in Swedish, pretending to be part of Nijisanji's new SE branch.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Ivy, his female counterpart.
  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: His relationship with Mysta comes off like one at times, with Ike being the tsukkomi. Shu has even referred to Ike as the tsukkomi to the entire rest of Luxiem, Shu himself included.
  • Brief Accent Imitation: When the topic of impersonating accents comes up, he temporarily switches from his usual accent to a heavy Swedish accent. He notes how unpleasant he finds it, especially since he — a native Swedish-speaker — knows people that actually sound like that when speaking in English.
  • Berserk Button: Bad-mouthing caviar toast while talking to him will instantly piss him off. He's also admitted to being prone to road rage.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Ike is a strong contender for kindest and most mild-mannered member of Luxiem, but driving recklessly or insulting his tastes in food will anger him to the point of swearing up a storm in multiple languages.
  • Big Eater: He mentions rather often that he regularly eats four pieces of toast in one sitting.
  • Character Catchphrase: He's amassed a few.
    • "I hate it here." Usually when faced with the other livers' weird conversations.
    • "I didn't sign up for this."
    • "Anyway-"
    • "What the hecky?"
    • "Se-no!" and other bits of Gratuitous Japanese
    • "Bababooey!"
    • "BEANS." Especially if it's bass-boosted and in a silly accent.
    • The scolding way he yells Mysta's name when he's exasperated with Mysta is associated with him a lot.
  • Comedic Sociopathy: He gave a rather convincing villain performance when chosen as the killer during Luxiem's Prop Hunt collab, chasing the other members around and laughing creepily.
Ike: (after killing Vox) Ah, what a shame. I was hoping we could play a little more together.
  • Covert Pervert: Ike usually likes to keep things tame on-stream, but he has his moments. He's cracked a few dirty jokes and even given out eroge recommendations from time to time, and he's fairly responsive to Scarle's fanservice.
  • Creepy Monotone: His Eki persona speaks in a very deliberate, deadened tone of voice.
  • Cute and Psycho: After his disarming performance as a killer in Prop Hunt, he's gained a bit of reputation as this, not helped by Mysta suggesting Ike as the murderer in a hypothetical "Luxiem Horror Movie" AU. It's caught on enough that Ike's membership has an emote with him brandishing a knife. It's revealed much later that he actually does have an evil side named Eki, who debuts in spectacular fashion by hijacking Ike's stream of Undertale.
  • Cuteness Proximity: He starts squealing with joy when he finds something really cute, such as Ralsei in Deltarune, or the helpful gnomes from Little Nightmares. He also squeals in delight when meeting the cube friend in GRIS, with him immediately asking chat if there was a plush of it.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: He's casually mentioned wearing goth lolita at some point, with him even sending Ironmouse a picture of himself when he was being interviewed by her. Judging from her reaction, he apparently wears it well.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: "The Man of Sex," a label Vox stuck him with as a joke.
  • Fanboy: Besides his love for metal, he's talked at length about his passion for Vocaloid music. Notably, music producer Muryoku-P inspired him to take up music, and in turn Ike's rendition of "Aspirin" during a January 2022 karaoke inspired Muryoku-P to make a new song after years of inactivity.
  • Foreign Cuss Word: Has been known to swear in Swedish when he's really startled or upset. If he's already speaking Swedish for whatever reason, he's also much less restrained with his language, as demonstrated during his April Fools stream.
  • The Gadfly: Despite his demeanor, he occasionally shows a penchant for teasing his fellow livers, such as the time he entered Selen and Pomu's Phasmophobia stream just to scare them and then leaving immediately.
  • Glasses Pull: Apparently, he does this when scolding Mysta during their offline collab.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: He knows conversational Japanese fairly well and peppers his speech with it from time to time.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite his slender frame, he's mentioned doing sports in the past, particularly parkour.
  • Mascot: His Quilldren, small white puffballs with feathers on their heads that represent his fans. They have a tendency to eat soap, flirt with Ike's chair, and generally get on his nerves, but they're too cute to stay mad at.
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: Let's see. He has his normal voice, Ivy's more feminine voice, Eki's quiet and breathy voice, his low voice, the exaggerated Swedish accent he occasionally uses despite repeatedly vowing never to use it again, and the very soft, affectionate voice he uses when he's drunk, and that's not even counting impressions.
  • Megane: He's an elegant, charming, bespectacled young man.
  • The Mentor: To Yugo in his lore video, acting as the kind "sensei" that encouraged Yugo to bring hope to his timeline with his music.
  • Metalhead: He's actually a huge fan of Rock and Metal in general even listing Spiritbox, Bring Me the Horizon and Ice Nine Kills as some of his favorite bands overall. And his first karaoke stream proves, he can do a mean Metal Scream.
  • Motifs: Quill pens (befitting of a novelist) and to a lesser extent, clocks (referring to his status as an accidental(?) time traveler). He's also associated with the pattern of hearts, diamonds, and crosses seen on his stream background, scarf, and mantle.
  • Mrs. Robinson: He has commented multiple times that he attracts a lot of mothers as his viewers and he is embarrassed and confused about it. Several of his fellow VTubers have told him that their mothers watch his streams.
  • Must Have Caffeine: During his Phasmophobia collab with Pomu, Finana and Vox, he confessed that he used to drink up to 3 or 4 Cokes a day before having to lay off them. When Pomu expressed shock about it, he then admits that before that he was addicted to energy drinks. Unusually for this trope, though, he's not much for coffee.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Downplayed. He's known to enjoy horror, with some of his favorite pieces of media being Higurashi and Elfen Lied. That said, he admits to not doing as well with jumpscares, making games like Devour and Five Nights at Freddy's much harder for him to handle.
  • Not So Above It All: He acts as (and for the most part is) Luxiem's voice of reason, but even he isn't immune to acting out memes and joking around.
Ike: (after seeing a chubby demon in Doom) DAMN BOI, HE THICC!
  • Oblivious to Love: Done intentionally and Played for Laughs during Vox's various marriage proposals. Instead of offering him a swift and merciful rejection, he instead pretends to have misheard him and continues on as if nothing happened. He also teases his chat sometimes by pretending to be oblivious to flirty donation messages or supas.
  • Only Sane Man: While he has his silly moments, he acts as this to Luxiem... and the vast majority of Nijisanji EN. Especially when Mysta's involved.
Ike: (after listening to Mysta and Nina have an innuendo-filled conversation) Hi, God? Yeah, it's me again. I want out.
  • Other Me Annoys Me: Ike's female counterpart Ivy seems to find him a bit irritating, and will even throw (harmless) things at him if he's really getting on her nerves. Ike, for his part, is rather intimidated by her.
  • Palette Swap: Ike and Eki look identical except for their color palettes, with Eki replacing Ike's blue with red.
  • Pesky Pigeons: Was apparently tormented by pigeons during his visit to France with several other NijiEN members. Consequently, the first few minutes of his Half-Life: Alyx playthrough consisted of him throwing things and Flipping the Bird at every pigeon he saw.
  • Portmanteau: His fanbase name is a combo of "quill" and "children".
  • Precision F-Strike: Ike usually prefers to mince his oaths; when he breaks out the proper swearwords, you know he's either been jumpscared or gotten really into whatever's going on. There's a Tear Jerker moment in his playthrough of OMORI that makes for a perfect example of the latter case:
Ike: (gradually figuring out a massive plot twist) ...the fuck did you guys do?
    • He also has this little moment during a NijiScenario.
Ike: (after successfully getting Vox to scold Mysta and Petra via Crocodile Tears) Well that was fucking easy.
    • As shown in his 2022 Halloween stream, Eki tends to drop f-bombs more frequently than Ike himself.
  • Prone to Tears: Between his sensitive nature and his love for games that tear at his heartstrings, Ike's shed more than a few Tender Tears on-stream.
  • Running Gag:
    • Ever since his stint in Twitter jail it's becoming a recurring joke that Ike somehow manages to keep finding himself in jail (either in games or official skits or on Twitter again) and having to break out.
    • The other livers frequently joke that a surefire way to summon his presence is by opening a soda can.
    • Ike has a reputation for showing up and startling people, sometimes deliberately, sometimes not.
    • Ike finding out that someone's mother is watching his streams.
  • Self-Deprecation: He almost immediately had his account restricted on Twitter and it lasted beyond his debut, leading to several references to being a resident of Twitter jail during his first day of streaming. Even after his release from Twitter jail, he still cracks jokes about it, as well as joking about his own idiosyncrasies and fears now and then.
Ike, on seeing the Horrible Goose's bell collection: (deadpan) That's how you know that he's truly evil.
  • Ship Tease: While he doesn't initiate as often (or as sexually) as Mysta and Vox, he has his moments; he attempted to flirt with Luca during their A Way Out collab, although Luca being Luca, it went right over his head (much to Ike's disgruntlement).
    • He also says this to Mysta during their offline collab with Vox and Nina after offering to share his drink.
Ike: (flirty, in Japanese) What's wrong, Mysta-kun? Do you not like indirect kisses?
    • He also responds with this to a troll that commented on one of Mysta's tweets.
Troll: (to Mysta) Yeah, ur cringe
      Ike: Nah, he's mine
  • Signature Sound Effect: Has a very distinctive yawn. It's high-pitched, slightly trilled, and often compared to a purring cat. He's also known for playing a slide whistle to highlight interesting moments in games.
  • Singing Voice Dissonance: Zig-zagged. Ike's light tenor voice doesn't sound too far off from how he talks...until he breaks out the Metal Scream.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Ike is pretty intelligent, and wears glasses.
  • Split Personality: Eki, his evil side who sometimes shows up when Ike's playing a game that puts him in a villainous role. He seems to be especially powerful when the game that brings him out messes with the fourth wall and/or when Ike has a knife. Notably, Ike seems to be completely oblivious to his existence.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: A recurring Running Gag, as he often pops up during his colleagues's streams out of nowhere and scares the shit out of the when he suddenly speaks. He usually waits a little before he speaks, meaning that the audience can already see him.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Caviar toast. He's also quite fond of Coke, strawberries, Rockstar energy drinks, and just about anything containing bacon.
  • Utsuge: One of his favorite genres.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Ike seems to have this relationship with his female counterpart Ivy, with him constantly needling her about being lazy and her glaring daggers at him at the slightest provocation. However, it's also implied that she's snapped him out of Eki mode on multiple occasions...by throwing him across the room.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He is not a fan of spiders in any capacity. Both his streams of Limbo and Devour show him struggling to retain his composure in the face of the spider-based enemies in those games. He also has talked about having a phobia of church bells, though he admits to not knowing the cause of it.

"Was that the Bite of 87??"

"A Demon from the past who held great power.
Though confident in his superhuman abilities, he looks after those who are loyal to him."
— Official profile

Debut date: December 19, 2021
Birthday: April 25
Languages spoken: English (native), Japanese (learning)
Illustrator: LAM
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: 400 and something
Height: 178 cm
Species: Demon

  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Vox has ruffled the hair of every one of his coworkers who he's met offline.
  • Affectionate Nickname: While he does use it to taunt him on occasion, Fulgur affectionately refers to him as "Voxxy".
  • Animal Motifs: He's grown increasingly associated with gorillas because of his liking for making monkey noises.
  • Arc Number: 522, as that's the number of members his original clan had.
  • ASMR Video: He deals in these weekly, with most of his scenarios sharing a universe. He especially favors elaborate, fairly risque roleplays.
  • Badass Armfold: His model holds this pose.
  • Baritone of Strength: A powerful demon with a deep voice to match.
  • Berserk Button:
    • He does not take kindly to someone insulting his clan or mocking him for his defeat at Tokugawa Ieyasu's hands, thank you very much.
    • The Lorax (2012) is a major sore spot for him, being one of his absolute least favorite movies of all time. His main complaint about the movie is the Broken Aesop, claiming that it failed to convey the same message as the original book, and he won't hesitate to rag on the film when given the opportunity. It's to the point where "Lorax" is his Safe Word.
    • Mysta's cooking skills are yet another great way to drive him insane. According to Mysta, Vox got extremely angry at him upon learning he deep-fried uncooked rice in an attempt to make fried rice, and he spent most of their off-collab cooking stream yelling at Mysta for his screw-ups (which include, but aren't limited to: nearly reusing the water he used to wash the rice, butchering a cucumber by slamming the knife onto the board, overseasoning the meat...)
  • Be Yourself: Vox is an empowering presence among his peers, encouraging them to stick true to the content they want to create—however niche it might be—rather than pursue the latest fad and ultimately not play to their strengths. Millie and Yugo are among those who took his words to heart, and are happier for it.
  • The Cameo: He briefly appears twice in Ironmouse's lore video, first as his angelic alter ego Box Tenshi in Heaven, and then as himself living on Earth at the end.
  • Character Catchphrase: "That's my girl."
  • Chick Magnet: Various different female Vtubers have taken a liking to him just from his very brief introduction, including Ironmouse of VShojo and Shiki Myoshino from PRISMPROJECT. Most discussing his Baritone of Strength, his Bishōnen face, or his Tall, Dark, and Handsome design.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Vox is not at all sexually shy, but he's a gentleman about it, and will quickly apologize and back off if his fanservice ever gets out of hand.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: His deep voice and design aside, he's no less eccentric than the other members of Luxiem when put in the right situation.
  • Continuity Nod: He mentions in a storytelling stream that he met what could only be inferred as Luca's father or grandfather while touring Paris in the 1920s.
  • Cuddle Bug: He's talked quite a bit about being fond of affection, got a top result of physical touch when he took the love languages quiz, and will happily give his viewers virtual kisses.
  • Culture Clash: He is under the impression that bidets are a luxury item when Reimu tells him (and Luca) to get one, but that seems to be the case mainly in North America, Europe and Australia. They're pretty ubiquitous around most of the world at a low cost.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Don't let his sinister appearance fool you, Vox was a caring lord in the past and looks on his modern viewers as family. He just wants everyone to be a happy clan.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He has some shades of this normally, but it comes out in full whenever he interacts with Mysta.
  • Determinator: Vox spent the first hour and 20 minutes of his first Dark Souls II marathon stream repeatedly dying to a single ogre in the Things Betwixt before even creating his character. Despite this, he persevered, and eventually killed it barehanded.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Claims that people used to call him "manko chinko" note  back in college, before adding that they didn't use to laugh as much as Elira does upon the latter hearing it.
  • Even the Guys Want Him: Some of his male viewership have admitted to finding him attractive. Just look at VOLTACTION’s reaction of hearing his voice. (At 3:20)
  • Fanboy:
    • He is a huge fan of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with his first-ever gaming stream being a five-hour session with his viewers. His character of choice is Kazuya.
    • He's also a big fan of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, and never hesitates when given a chance to talk about the series' lore.
    • Like Enna, he is also a Deadbeat. He shares that he sang “Excuse My Rudeness, But Could You Please RIP?” for his audition audio.
  • Flower Motifs: Red camellias, which are part of the pattern on his haori. Red camellias represent love and desire, and were also a symbol of "a noble death" to ancient samurai, calling to his backstory.
  • The Gambling Addict: It didn't take him very long to descend into rampant gacha addiction in Genshin Impact, much to the amusement of his viewers.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: He gets easily angry while playing video games, and his anger becomes really intense the more he's screwed over.
  • Horned Humanoid: As of his 2.0 outfit, he now has a pair of horns that he can toggle on and off.
  • In-Series Nickname: His fanbase (and occasionally his coworkers, such as Nina and Luca) usually refers to him as "milord", given his character lore as the demonic head of a Japanese clan.
  • Insult of Endearment: Get him drunk enough and he'll start using "slut" with genuine affection.
  • Jump Scare: While writing a comic together with Merryweatherey, poor Vox gets spooked several times by Merry's transformations (with one of the VTuber models being an ugly fat man).
  • Large Ham: He can go very hammy and loud depending on the situation.
  • Lemony Narrator: He acts as this for Mysta's lore video.
  • Like Brother and Sister: How a lot of people view his friendship with Reimu. In fact, he even described himself as the older brother and Reimu as the (in his own words) frustrated and underachieving younger sister.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Vox has quite the long hair and he's very good looking.
  • Love Triangle: Played for laughs during an Among Us collab, when Mysta taunted him in the in-game chat by claiming to have slept with Ike.
  • Magical Floating Shawl: Gains one of these for his 2.0 outfit.
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: He is often impressing his viewers with his spot-on voice impressions.
  • The Mentor: As might be expected from a 400-year-old, Vox is very wise, and he's generally quite willing to offer his viewers bits of life advice.
  • Mr. Fanservice: He's well aware of his bishonen looks and is very flirty, both with his own chat and the other Luxiem members.
  • Oni: His mascot/moderator Oni Girinote  is a typical red-skinned Japanese oni. Strangely, while Vox as a character is Japanese, there seems to be a distinction between the kind of demon he is versus an oni.
  • Non-Human Sidekick: The tiny red oni he wears as a charm on his belt, Oni Giri.
  • Not So Stoic: Despite usually presenting himself as very calm, Vox has quite the temper and he's Not So Above It All to partake in silly antics.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Unlike the other members of Luxiem whose lore involves Time Travel, his lore sees him surviving a defeat at the hands of Tokugawa Ieyasu and living ever since.
  • Rejected Marriage Proposal: Vox constantly flirts with Ike and has proposed marriage multiple times, only to be brushed off if not rejected outright.
  • The Rival: Vox's first Smash stream saw him quickly develop a rivalry with fan and fellow Vtuber IceCreamKat, who battled him under the name "Kat Gaming" and later "toKatGawa" in reference to Vox's lore. Kat Gaming quickly became The Dreaded during the stream, not only thrashing Vox with great Ridley play but doing so with taunts sprinkled throughout.
  • Safe Word: "Lorax" means whatever is going on has gone too far. Vox chose it to deliberately hit his Berserk Button, figuring it'd instantly kill the mood if he ever got carried away with his Fanservice.
  • Sex for Services: When he needs to be rescued in a team game, Vox has been known to get his teammates' attention by jokingly attempting to bribe them with sexual favors if they help him.
  • Sex Sells: Vox's ASMR content is very risky and sexual in nature, and even outside ASMR he's very willing to flirt and indulge fans' sexual fantasies. He's also the most successful member of Nijisanji EN as well as one of the highest superchat earners on Youtube in general.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: He wears a snazzy white suit with a red undershirt.
  • Ship Tease:
    • Mysta is at once his wife, his son and his dog. No, he will not attempt to resolve this contradiction.
    • Vox frequently flirts with Ike to the point of proposing marriage. After a series of rejections, he streamed a continuation of his The Sims 4 playthrough, in which he devoted some time to getting his virtual self to go on a date with Sim!Ike.
Vox: The only man I’ll call daddy is Ike Eveland.
    • He constantly teases Shoto during their It Takes Two playthrough, and he even gives him a kiss during the credits, much to the latter's embarrassment; in fact, it'd probably be easier to list the times Vox and Shoto have collaborated without hitting on each other the whole time, and they're apparently good friends off-camera.
  • Signature Laugh: His "gremlin laugh", an exceedingly mischievous "hehehe" that he makes whenever he tells a dirty joke, successfully works up his chat, or is generally causing mischief.
  • Sir Swearsalot: Downplayed. Vox is extremely eloquent, but can break out swear words if emotions run high.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis:
    • Had one with his Noctyx counterpart Fulgur, for a while, getting into lengthy Twitter arguments with him mere hours after Fulgur was announced.
    • After his feud with Fulgur settled down, his increasingly daring ASMR streams have led Vox into something of a rivalry with "Susan", personification of Youtube's Moral Guardians and frequent scapegoat for scuff.
  • Speaks in Shout-Outs: Frequently references internet memes and pop culture whenever it fits his situation. Non-native English speakers, including Meloco, cite this as one of the reasons it might be difficult to keep up with what he's saying.
  • Still Believes in Santa: He chooses to believe that Santa Claus is real, the "symbol of capitalism" and goes into a long tangent about Santa Claus and argues with his chat who are slandering Santa's name.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: His eyes are a light gold, fitting his demonic nature.
  • Supreme Chef: The other members have repeatedly brought up that he's a very good cook, and he lists cooking as one of his favorite hobbies.
  • Talkative Loon: He can go off on a tangent when he is talking, and he often gets sidetracked while doing so.
  • Team Dad: He likens himself to be this to the other members of Luxiem, and frequently "co-parents" with Nina.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Often drinks tea during his streams. Brits Love Tea, after all. He also tries to make pilk (pepsi + milk) as widespread as possible, such as making Connor and Buffpup drink it if they lose a bet, convincing Salome to try it, or advertising it for the NIJISANJI Koshien 2023 when he's supposed to do a siren.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds:
    • With Mysta. Vox gets a kick out of messing with him and never misses a chance to do so while Mysta usually attempts to annoy him right back. However, Vox has admitted on numerous occasions that despite loving to bully him, he considers Mysta a very special person and is very fond of him.
    • With Reimu. The two constantly bounce back and forth between friendliness and smack-talking that must be seen to be believed, especially on Twitter.
  • Wolverine Publicity: Vox is always at the center of Luxiem. However, whenever they produce songs together, Vox is given the least amount of lines and barely sings at all. This is especially prominent in Hope in the dark where he's only given a couple of lines to say. He has more rapping parts in Jazz on the Clock, but most of the singing is still done by the other four members of the group.

"Kon-innit!"

"A Detective from the past known for his eccentric nature.
As a natural-born genius, he solved countless mysteries with his keen deduction skills."
— Official profile

Debut date: December 19, 2021
Graduation date: August 27, 2023
Birthday: January 20
Languages spoken: English (native)
Illustrator: 吠L
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: 27 (25 at debut)
Height: 177 cm
Occupation: Detective

  • Ambiguously Related: Nina jokingly has asked him a few times if he might secretly be her son, considering his very foxlike traits. He also shares his surname with Alban's late best friend in the future, though whether he's a descendant of his or not has yet to be confirmed.
  • Animal Motifs: Foxes. Officially, however, he's modelled after Dobermann hounds, and gains a Dobermann-inspired beret in his 2.0 outfit.
  • Badass Longcoat: He wears his detective trench coat over his shoulders.
  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: His dynamic with Ike is reminiscent of this, with Mysta as the boke. One of Mysta's superchat alerts even shows a gif of Ike smacking him with a harisen.
  • But Now I Must Go: Mysta has solved all crimes and mystery in the city but one, and he decided to leave the city to solve more crimes, resulting in his graduation in August 27th, 2023. He left the final mystery for Detective Pomu to solve.
  • Butt-Monkey:
    • Somehow took the title of "most bulliable EN member" from Petra before even debuting. She even got in on the action as soon as she could. Mysta also gets left behind by everyone else after bailing Ike out of jail in Luxiem's first NijiScenario.
    • During the global Among Us collab with swapped languages, Mysta ends up getting killed very early in the game most of the time. One of his two impostor rounds ends prematurely because of a server disconnection, and his final impostor round ends in failure because of him fixing the sabotage rather waiting for the last two crewmates to come nearby.
  • Cat/Dog Dichotomy: With Alban. Mysta is the canine, and Alban is the cat.
  • Character Catchphrase: "Kon-innit!" is his standard greeting when starting a stream. Also "Chat" when he's talking to chat, which he does very often.
  • Character Tics: He tends to hiccup often, a trait he happens to share with another virtual detective. His fans find it similarly cute.
    • He also has a habit of making a "nam" type noise whenever he takes a bite of food.
    • He's frequently associated with the "kitsune sign" hand gesture, and he makes it himself a few times on hand cam streams.
  • Child of Two Worlds: He is half-Filipino and resides in the UK. Unlike other examples in the EN branch, he only speaks English, though he mentioned that his Filipino parent(s) spoke Ilocano. Ironically, he dislikes tea and used to dismiss the idea of washing rice.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: As his profile states, he's very eccentric to say the least, and is frequently bewildering his chat with his bizarre comments and random innuendos. His stream content can also get pretty creative, such as playing Cooking Simulator with his model dressed as a maid or eating chips on screen in complete silence for a half hour.
  • Comfort Food: He has mentioned during a Genshin Impact stream that he has stopped telling his audience that he's sad. He instead copes with his feelings by ordering a slice of chocolate cake when his sad feelings become too much for him.
  • Cuckoosnarker: He's definitely an energetic oddball, but he's quite capable of being bitingly sarcastic when he feels like it, especially when backseating occurs in chat.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: A rare male example; even in his lore video his audience was impressed by his ability to scream at the top of his lungs.
  • Cute Little Fangs: He does have them, likely to add to his foxlike look.
  • Extreme Omnivore: He's eaten expired food, mold, chewed glass, and accidentally drank out of a bottle that still had dish soap in it, and he somehow doesn't seem too much worse for wear. And this isn't even mentioning some of his cooking escapades.
  • Failed a Spot Check: During his OPERATION:TANGO collab stream with Petra, when the former asked the latter if penguins can swim, she tried to make him realize the answer by saying that LazuLight and OBSYDIA were Similar Squads and have members that represent the sky, earth and ocean, and that she's the ocean's representative of OBSYDIA. Unfortunately for Petra, when Mysta tried to remember who the members of OBSYDIA were, he completely blanked out that Petra was the third member.
  • Fanboy: He's a big fan of Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro and once accidentally showed that he has the titular character as his desktop wallpaper (which he immediately tells chat to forget about).
  • Funny Foreigner: Invoked. He is quick to blame his quirkiness on the fact that he's British, going even further to point out his Cockney accent.
  • Genius Ditz:
    • He doesn't know what E.Coli is and according to this tweet didn't even knew that cheese was made of milk, yet despite that he's still a professional detective.
    • Adding to The Ditz side of things, during one moment on the OPERATION:TANGO collab with Petra, he begins a conversation by asking if penguins can swim, then while Petra tries to get him to understand by drawing on the parallels LazuLight and OBSYDIA have as a Similar Squad, he forgets that Pomu exists as a member of the former, then forgets that his current collab partner exists as a member of the latter.
    • On the "genius" side of things, he's demonstrated a good prowess in puzzle and mystery games (fittingly enough) and has very good memory and observational skills when he focuses, with one example being during his collab of We Were Here with Ike where he basically re-completes the game by himself because he remembered all the puzzles.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Despite his bouts of boneheaded goofiness, he shows an ability to very straightforward and mature when it comes to discussing serious topics like parasocial relationships and depression, and isn't afraid to be direct with his audience about his boundaries when he feels he needs to.
    • Though he tends to appear airheaded on camera, the other livers such as Vox and Nina have brought up how smart he is when it comes to content creation and analyzing trends, as well as complimenting his creativity and seriousness towards forming his brand and entertaining his fans.
  • History Repeats Itself: Just like Finana, he also happened to have an egg found by one of his parents.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: He's gotten some attention for his impeccable aim in FPS games, with one example being him wiping the floor with everyone during Luxiem's Valorant collab against Noctyx.
  • Just Friends:
    • He keeps insisting that he and Mika are not dating. They eventually do a lie detector stream where they confirm yet again that they aren't dating and that they don't even consider dating each other, and they're relieved that the lie detector doesn't shock them for it.
    • This also applies to other female livers he's friends with, and he prefers not to be shipped with them.
  • Keet: He's exceedingly energetic, talkative and friendly.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: He owns two cats named Tom and Jerry, the latter of which he showed a picture of to celebrate 250k subscribers.
  • Lethal Chef: Gained a reputation as this due to recounting several mishaps of his regarding rice, particularly how he once tried to fry uncooked rice (because he didn't realize you're supposed to boil the rice before you fry it) or how he left some rice in a rice cooker for several months to the point it was filled with maggots. It's enough that the other members of NijiEN and his fans react with horror at the prospect of him cooking. His bad food is also shown in animation on Luxiem's channel. Characterization Marches On, however, as with coaching from others such as Vox he's gotten much better at it.
  • Like Brother and Sister: With Mika from the (ex-)ID branch. Many viewers compare their bickering to that of a pair of squabbling siblings.
  • Momma's Boy: Like Luca, he's very close to his mom and occasionally updates his viewers on her messages or reactions to his streams.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Mysta's Lethal Chef days may be mostly behind him, but co-workers and fans alike are still hesitant to let him cook, especially if rice is involved.
  • Portmanteau: His fanbase name, Mystakes, is a combination of "Mysta" and "mistakes".
  • Private Detective: At least according to his profile. He admits in his debut that he might have exaggerated his success rate a little.
  • Punny Name: His name is very "mysterious" indeed.
  • Rags to Riches: He's talked about having an extremely poor childhood, with he and his mother barely being able to afford rent or food at times. Because of it, he's mentioned having difficulty adjusting to the sheer amount of money he's gotten from streaming.
  • Sad Clown: As mentioned above with the Comfort Food entry, Mysta has stopped telling his audience about his sad feelings due to his bad experiences on social media. Since his channel is so big, he cannot allow himself to show his sadness, as otherwise his fans and antis would backlash at him. He also feels that this applies to many other content creators.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: Out of the rest of Luxiem, he has the most high pitched scream. And he screams a lot. He screams so much, he even posts compilations of himself screaming.
  • Sherlock Homage: His 2.0 outfit has this aesthetic, giving him a checkered inverness coat, a monocle and a pipe.
  • Ship Sinking: His "We have some things to confess." stream on March 2023 is designed to be this, so that he and Mika can definitely proof that there is no romance going on between the two of them and that it will never happen.
  • Ship Tease: Has called Vox both his wife and "daddy". He corrected himself on one occasion, saying he was married to Ike instead.
  • Shrinking Violet: He's admitted to being much more shy than he appears to be on stream, and he has significantly more trouble talking in larger collabs because of it. The other members have remarked on that Mysta seemed to be a very quiet person upon first meeting and were shocked when they saw his bombastic persona during his debut.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Half cyan blue, half orange.
  • Signature Headgear: His trademark fox cap and the black headband he wears underneath it.
  • Time Travel: Like the other members of Luxiem (sans Vox) he is from the past and was brought to the present day by a mysterious force. Telling from his appearance in Luca's lore video (and vice versa), he's likely from the 60s just like him.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Magnum ice cream. He's also recently gotten a taste for mango boba tea after getting a chance to try it when visiting some of the other livers in real life.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: He's admitted to doing cosplays of feminine anime characters before, most notably Hideri Kanzaki from Blend-S. He occasionally crossdresses casually as well, since he finds men's clothing a bit samey. We get to see Mysta in a maid outfit during the fourth episode of Luca's NIJIEN Dating Show.
