One of the members of the first wave named 3SetBBQ, Hana Macchia leads the way with making her interactions with everyone being a calming experience. A university student with some know-hows of the Internet and a love of coffee, she'll often be the one treating to viewers with her way of life and a sense of humor, whether it be her own jokes or at her own expense.

• A-Cup Angst: To the point that she really likes it when artists draw her with a modestly-bigger size.
  • She once expressed her distress over her lack of assets, to the point of taking ZEA's avatar to stuck her head in.
    Hana: I look like a child! I look like a baby! ...I look so small.
  • In a talk stream with Bonnivier, she accuses him for having a bigger chest than her despite being a male.
    Hana: It's not fair! Life isn't fair! Why do you have big badonkadonkers and I don't?! I am the girl, you are a man! YOU HAVE BIGGER BOOBS THAN ME- YOU'RE A GUY!
• Admiring the Abomination: Finds Cacodemons cute.
• Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Her dad admits to invoking this, calling it a “sport”.
• Big "OMG!": Does this in her Doom Eternal playthrough when the game's composer, Mick Gordon, drops by her chat to ask "is this [her stream] what coronavirus does".
• Big, Stupid Doodoo-Head: While Hana has been known to swear she more frequently refers to characters in games, other livers and even her dad as "stinky" when they are annoying her.
• But Not Too Foreign: She's the only member of the branch who is not a native Indonesian speaker; she's Japanese from her mother's side and American from her father's. With that said, she has lived in Indonesia long enough to understand the language in a conversational level, to the point of using informal slangs. Miyu lampshades this by calling her a "bule" (Indonesian slang for a foreigner) in their collab of The Convenience Store.
• Catchphrase: "Apue", a cute sound that she made while playing Getting Over It, has become attributed to her and has even become her notification sound. This video explains its meaning and origin.
• Celebrity Resemblance: In an odd meta-fictional sort of way. Hana has agreed with her fans that she greatly resembles an adult Hat Kid from A Hat in Time, particularly when she has her cat-like smiling expression turned on.
• Clingy Jealous Girl: She has claimed ZEA as her wife on several occasions, and makes it clear that she's her wife and her wife alone. This has gone to a level where when she sees her being around other members, such as when Hana found out Rai put his bed besides ZEA's during her visit on their Minecraft server, Hana makes sure no one gets away with it.
• Costume Evolution: Her second costume is radically different from her first with a more urban styling, with fans pointing many resemblances to Arknights's character designs.
• Crossover: Aside from participating in "international" cross-branch collabs by herself, Hana has done several collaborations with Amano Pikamee due to their mutual appreciation for one another and with Kureji Ollie of hololive Indonesia.
• Daddy's Girl: Her dad, Henry, raised her on his own and supports her life as a Virtual Celebrity, and crashes in her streams at times, either to assist her or cause more mayhem. Either way, she wholly accepts his presence.
• Does Not Like Spam: Absolutely hates vegetables. Despite her claims that she'd rather eat it with something, her dad brought up that she even skipped out on a piece of cabbage attached to the corn beef he made. In the first wave's 6-month anniversary, Taka and ZEA even claim the cake she ate was essentially made up of veggies. All she does is scream in despair before the stream abruptly ends.
• Elmuh Fudd Syndwome: Being half-Japanese, she struggles pronouncing words with the letter "L".
• Fishing Episode: Hana is a big fan of fishing in games so the presence of a Fishing Minigame is a serious attraction in a game, to the extent of spending entire streams fishing in Minecraft and Final Fantasy XIV.
• The Gambling Addict: Much of her sponsored Phantasy Star Online 2 gameplay is just Hana holing up in the casino, trying to rack up Casino Coins at the blackjack tables.
• Humongous Mecha: Hana became one and attacked a city to open her 3D debut.
• Hypocritical Humor: Makes fun of Airani Iofifteen's rhotacism despite having it herself. She didn't take the realization well.
• In-Series Nickname: Hanamaki, used commonly by her peers, mostly ZEA.
• Little Bit Beastly: Her second costume gives her a pair of ears and a tail that resembles that of a civet.
• Pokémon Speak: Hana plays YASUHATI/Eight Note, a platformer controlled entirely by one's voice, but (mostly) says "apue" during the entire 55-minute stream. This trope ensues.
• Ship Tease: In addition to her long-standing connection with ZEA she has flirted with or been flirted with by several other Nijisanji members, most notably Bonnivier Pranaja, Reza Avanluna and Noor from Nijisanji India.
• That Came Out Wrong: Twice in her Doom (2016) run, she finds getting chomped by a Cacodemon and getting stepped on while losing an arm the best ways to die. Both times she realizes what she's just said.
  Henry: So what you're telling me is you're into vore, huh?
• Token Minority: A Japanese-American in Indonesia. Fellow Nijisanji ID member Miyu lampshades this during a collab stream when she makes a reference to popular Indonesian musician Iwan Fals. The reference goes right over Hana's head, prompting Miyu to call her a bule (foreigner).
• Trademark Favorite Drink: Coffee. It even helps her stay up late, something that her dad was annoyed with. This plays into her second costume that portrays her as part civet, an animal mostly associated with one type of coffee, named "Kopi Luwak".
• Troll: She loves pranking her co-workers, particularly playing around with their avatar. For instance, when Cia went for a bathroom break and left Hana with her motionless avatar, prompting her to mess with it.
• Verbal Tic: Describing things as "funny" in a slightly baby-talk tone (often stylised as "funni" in text) for lack of a more appropriate adjective, particularly calling characters in games "the funni man." Her Catchphrase "Apue" started out like this too, as noted above.
• Violence is the Only Option: During Kana Sukoya's 3D debut, she calls Hana (and in extension, ZEA and Taka) to help her please her master. Hana's solution? Make her headbutt the camera.
  Hana: Let's use violence dayo!

• Butt-Monkey: is the frequent victim of other livers' jokes, particularly Taka and other CloverMcOver members.
• Chuunibyou: See The Corrupter and Superpowered Evil Side. When you start ranting in third person about being a villain, you quailify as Chuuni.
• The Corrupter: Apparently pulls this on Etna during Nijisanji ID's 'Ball Tournament Tour' in late April 2021, causing her to have a Face–Heel Turn.
• Height Angst: Fans and other livers often teases him for his height, in which he responds with denial.
• Superpowered Evil Side: Possibly. During Nijisanji ID's 'Ball Tournament Tour', he began reffering to himself as 'Azure Striker' and openly calling himself a vilain.
• Third-Person Person: Often calls himself by name.

• Casual Time Travel: Her backstory is that she comes from a tribe who can do this.

• Chuunibyou: Occasionally leans pretty far into the 'ex-hero' character.
• Colorful Theme Naming: Well, duh.
• Face–Heel Turn: During Nijisanji ID's 'Ball Tournament Tour' in late April 2021, Etna's drive to win the tournament sees her slowly go through one of these, culminating in her apparently embracing a Superpowered Evil Side. It's Played for Laughs.

• Half-Human Hybrid: Apparently described herself as a "half-superhuman".
• Henshin Hero
• Hot-Blooded
• Identical Stranger: Many Nijisanji ID members noted that Amber from Genshin Impact bears an uncanny resemblance to Etna during their streams of the game.
• No Indoor Voice: Tends to shout most of her words.
• Precision F-Strike: Let out a rather subdued "Tadaima, motherfuckers" halfway in her Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy playthrough here.
• Red Is Heroic: Is an ex-hero who wears plenty of red.
• Shout-Out: A big shout out to tokusatsu hero in general, and Kamen Rider in particular.
• Third-Person Person: Often refers to herself by name.
• Trademark Favorite Food: Burgers. It's also a part of her fandom's icon.

• Double Entendre: When Bonnivier and Mika discuss about the topic of one of them getting stabbed in a dark alleyway, they say they would ditch each other and he would film the scene for content. Bonnivier goes even further and says if Mika's still fresh, he will take her kidneys, calling it "friendship... with 'benefits'".
• Fishing Episode: Bonnivier's character bio mentions him being a professional fishing athlete in the past before getting scammed out of his prize. He often engages in Fishing Minigames from time to time to live up to his title.
• The One Guy: The only guy in the 4th wave.
• Scary Shiny Glasses: Often put this on himself in his video thumbnails.
• Ship Tease: In addition to the below Bon has engaged in this with Hana by flirting with her in his own way to her great embarrassment.
• Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Forms one with Hana. Their Dead Space 3 collab has him constantly trolling her and leave her behind, and has attempted to snipe Hana off while she was trying to fish in Minecraft.
• Vitriolic Best Buds: His relationship with Selen. They tend to roast each other, partially because they have different mentalities in approaching team-based shooters^ContextBonnivier is used to playing with random teammates and doesn't account for others supporting him, while Selen typically plays with friends and her tactics in collabs reflect such and partially because Selen does it to everyone, but they clearly respect each other's skill and were equally disappointed that they couldn't do more for each other in the ill-fated Reignite Cup.
• True Companions: He and Sonny Brisko from the EN branch were good friends long before either of them joined Nijisanji.

• The Cutie: Her appearance evokes innocence and, while not exclusively, she does play a lot of cute games.
• Cute and Psycho/Comedic Sociopathy: The December 2020 Among Us collab with Reza, Nara, Miyu, Hana, Bonnivier, Azura, Derem, Layla and Rai saw Nagisa going ballistic as an Impostor during the "hide-and-seek" round, casually murdering everyone who came across her while giggling mischeviously, essentially making her The Dreaded to the Crewmates. She managed to kill Miyu and Azura within seconds of each kill, while singing an Ironic Nursery Rhyme.
  Bonnivier: Why am I hearing children's music and why am I scared?!
• Edible Theme Naming: Her name and design is based on that of mangosteens.
• Fun Size: The smallest member of Nijisanji ID by a wide margin.
• Put on a Bus: She went on hiatus between mid-November 2022 to early February 2023.
• Shout-Out: Her character bio references a lyric from a food supplement commerical that became a wide-spread meme in Indonesia some time ago.
• Token Mini-Moe: Is the smallest member of the ID branch, has an almost chibi-like design, and has a very cutesy voice.

• Bifauxnen: Her veil-less appearance invokes this with her Boyish Short Hair.
• Does Not Like Spam: Spicy foods, she can't even stand a mildly spicy (for indonesian standard) gado gado.
• Kindhearted Cat Lover: Describes herself as this, although the mention of "stalking cats" during her debut might raise some questions.
• Magical Girl: She's a magical girl from a magical world, out looking for a magical cat to make a contract with.
• Meaningful Name: "Kado" is Indonesian for "gift", and the belts placed on top of her head evokes the impression of a ribbon used in gift boxes.
• Mystical White Hair: A magical girl with white hair, though it used to be hidden most of the time. On March 7, 2022, Derem debuted a variant of her model with the belts taken off, showing her hair on full display. The white haired model has been her main ever since. See here.
• Too Many Belts: Probably the oddest application of this trope. How many people can claim they have belts in their hair?

• The Leader: While not officially the leader of Nijisanji ID as a whole per se, she is considered as the leader of the second wave, jokingly or not.
• Ridiculously Cute Critter: Her mascot, Otto the otter.
• Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Has stormed out of her room whenever she's flustered or embarrassed in a few occasions, such as when Riksa called her "kawaii" and when she gets forced to recite a rather... interesting line in Riksa's Nekopara group stream.
• Stylistic Suck: Sometime uses these kind of arts as her video's thumbnails.
• V-Sign: Her avatar has her in this pose on one hand. She lampshaded this during her debut in which she described herself as "a bringer of peace" because of her V-sign.
• Token Religious Teammate: While not exactly religious she sometimes reflexively says some Islamic chants/prayers when she's surprised and/or scared, the best example is in her ''Convenience Store'' stream.
• Tomboy/The Lad-ette: Has elements of this, particularly from her manners and her informal style of talking.
• Tsundere: Despite her tomboyish personality, more often or not she finds herself getting flustered easily, much to her dismay.

A Ridiculously Human Robot Girl created by one Professor Cornelia. ZEA desires to be a virtual idol while living with her human friends, especially with 3SetBBQ, along with her robotic partner BEA. She more or less describes herself as "cute and clumsy."

On April 10, 2023, Nijisanji announced that four members of the ex-ID branch would be graduating over the coming months, with ZEA the first to graduate on May 14. At the time of her graduation, her channel had 108,000 subscribers.

• Another Dimension: She originally comes from one as explained in a sadly deleted video.
• Boyish Short Hair: Her third costume features a rather tomboyish appearance including short hair.
• Cute Clumsy Girl: As noted above ZEA has issues with clumsiness and the occasional ditzy moment.
• Edible Theme Naming: Popcorn crops up a lot in her naming of memberships etc. This is a combination of the "Corn" in her surname and being a "Pop" idol.
• Fun with Acronyms: Her first name ZEA is the acronym for "Z-type Executive Automaton". Similarly her companion BEA is short for "B-type Executive Automaton".
• Idol Singer: The focus of her character. True to form she has done plenty of singing contents, from karaoke to covers.
• Little Bit Beastly: Her second costume is parrot themed complete with feathers.
• Ridiculously Human Robots: Her physical appearance doesn't look any different from any human livers despite being a machine.
• Robot Girl: She even has her needs as a regular girl, wanting to try out beauty products for herself.
• Timey-Wimey Ball: invoked in one of her last streams. Since she was going to graduate before her birthday she decided to create some temporal anomaly in which every day, backwards and forwards in time, was now her birthday.
• Token Robot: She's an automaton.

Taka Radjiman

Taka Radjiman [JP: タカ ラジマン]

• Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Some of his streams tend to get a bit... weird. His Tweets also count.
• Ermine Cape Effect: His second costume evokes nobility, with a fur lined cape.
• Honest Corporate Executive: His bio states that he's the CEO of his own company, and often tells stories about his work experiences with his clients.
• In-Series Nickname: Other members often refer to him as "pak" (semi-formal term for "sir").
• Mistaken Nationality: During his collab with Tamaki Fumino the latter mistakes him for an Indian due to the fact that Japanese term for India (Indo) is very similar to Indonesia.
• The One Guy: Of the first wave.
• Parrot Pet Position: On his second costume he has a red panda curled around his shoulders.
• Sharp-Dressed Man: Wears a full three-piece-suit. If you ever doubt that he's a CEO then the suit proves it enough.
• Shout-Out: His name is a Pun on Osamu Tezuka's manga Shin Takarajima, itself based on the novel Treasure Island. To make an even more roundabout reference, Taka later sings a cover of the song called Shin Takarajima which is also named after said Tezuka's manga here.
• Significant Birth Date: His birthdays falls on White Day.
• Straight Man: Comedic moments notwithstanding, he sometimes act as the middleman to balance out Hana and ZEA's zanier antics.
• Team Mom: Gender aside, his Straight Man antics with Hana and ZEA is oft compared to a mother dealing with her rowdy children, hence the nickname "Takamama".

Siska Leontyne

• Crossover: She has collabed with Airani Iofifteen of the Indonesian branch of hololive.
• Canine Companion: Used to have 2, Chita and Pochi, now it's just Pochi after Chita passed away on December 2020.
• Cloudcuckoolander: As chill as she can be in group streams, she acts much more out there in solo streams. Observe.
• In-Series Nickname: Amichon.
• Shipper on Deck: She had livestreamed herself drawing a Riksa x Siska comic for hours. Witness.
• Sleepyhead: Well, this is part of her character's motif. At one point she dozes off for a few minutes during a livestream of The Stanley Parable. This trait also extends to off-collabs as well, as when Riksa recounted meeting Cia in-person for the first time, he assumed that she was always looked this drowsy due to work and such.

• Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Miyu. Although on her part, it borders on Ship Tease from moments such as flirting with her in one occasion, and has a "Ottaspace Wedding Ring" in her possession in Minecraft.
• Human Aliens: She's an alien, though beyond her futuristic outfit she looks hardly different from the other human vtubers.
• Lady Looks Like a Dude: At one point, Azura assumed that her Japanese viewers might think of her as this, referring to a moment where Kanae and Hoshikawa mistakenly refers to her with masculine pronouns when they're visiting her place in the Nijisanji World Minecraft server.

• Alliterative Name: Both names start with an "M".
• Ascended Extra: Mika's Roomie-chan had been talked about very frequently on her channel, who eventually gained her very own channel (opened by Mika herself) that also gained five digits worth of subscribers in a couple of days. Roomie-chan would then later be given an actual design in Mika's animated shorts, making Roomie-chan a Canon Immigrant.
• Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: She has a habit of going on long tangents at times, especially about fashion, daily life, and in telling stories.

• Delinquents: His aesthetic at least, complete with tattoos, piercings, and a wild hairstyle. Whether or not his personality fits into the stereotype is very much debatable however.
• Enter Stage Window:
  • At one point during Taka and Cia's stream of Monster Hunter: World, he climbed to Taka's 3rd story window to ask for his wi-fi password mid-stream. In the middle of the night. Oddly he claimed to have used a ladder even though according to Taka there was no ladder there.
