In November 2019, Ichikara Inc. announced the creation of a new branch of the Nijisanji project in India, called "Nijisanji IN". Auditions for four initial virtual YouTuber slots ran from 18 November to 2 December, with selected candidates debuting in January 2020.
On 22 June 2020, Nijisanji IN was re-branded to Nijisanji EN, alongside the creation of an official English YouTube channel. It was short-lived however, and they were re-branded back to Nijisanji IN on 27 November 2020.
On 30 April 2021, Nijisanji IN entered a "temporary suspension", and at the same time all three members graduated.
