The Nagato Family

  • Happily Adopted: Nagato has adopted several of the younger(-looking) members of the household, not that anyone is complaining.

     Harry James Potter-Nagato
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harry_potter.jpg
"I don't go looking for trouble. Trouble usually finds me."
  • Abusive Parents: Before he was taken in and adopted by Nagato, his aunt and uncle did everything in their power to make him feel worthless, a drain on limited resources due to rationing (they were using his rations to benefit Dudley and themselves, thereby engaging in ration fraud), and essentially starved him.
  • Adaptational Angst Downgrade: Is far more optimistic than in canon due to being adopted by Nagato.
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Got the ability to use shipgirl equpment from Lily.
    • Got raised as a Military Brat, giving him a good sense of tactics.
    • The onmyoji shipgirls at Yokosuka Naval Base taught him some magic before he even went to Hogwarts.
    • Has multiple weapons that the Potters wound up acquiring over the years, all of which are tsukumogami.
      • Especially notable is Juuchi Yosamu, who is the Potter Honor Blade specifically because only a Potter can No-Sell the Unstoppable Rage that she makes all of her other users feel.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Due to years of being taught that he can't get better grades than Dudley in canon, Harry didn't really apply himself to his schoolwork, only getting good enough grades to pass. Here, he is consistently in the top percentile of Hogwarts students with his grades.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Because he applies himself in class, his lessons before he ever attended Hogwarts and having less reasons to dislike each other in general he and Snape get on much better here than they do in canon. Not needing to constantly wear glasses also helps, as without them Snape can see Lily's features in Harry.
  • Arbitrarily Large Bank Account: It has been mentioned multiple times that Harry's kids won't have to work a day in their lives.
    • Taken a step further in an Omake when Harry decides to celebrate his anniversary with Tamamo by buying Liechtenstein. As in the whole country. And making Tamamo the queen for two whole weeks.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: While currently exclusive to omakes from the author, it seems Harry might get the ability to switch genders, and his female form is extremely attractive, as seen here.
  • Berserk Button: Harry's time with the Dursleys has left him with two major ones: Bullying people and telling people that they're worthless. When he caught Peeves doing both of these things to Myrtle, the poltergeist got a sealing ofuda while Harry calmed Myrtle down.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Harry is legitimately nice, but his time with the Dursleys left him with a vicious side that he keeps under heavy restraint. If he ever becomes truly angry, he has some ideas that are legitimately scary.
Quietly, Natsumi had listened to Harry as he vented some and was more than a little surprised, and frightened, that he had planned out how he could have killed those that had harmed her. And just how vicious said deaths would be. Mainly by making use of Kenshō to sneak in without anyone ever knowing that he was there. Followed by using said Kogatana to make them either forget to breathe, make their hearts forget to beat regularly and cause a heart attack, or even that their blood was not supposed to clot in their veins.
  • …But He Sounds Handsome: When Harry was accused of getting the Valentines dwarves to deliver several pun-filled singing Valentines, he denied it even as he complimented whoever gave them such inspired Valentines.
  • Chef of Iron: Harry is an incredible cook. He also has been learning multiple ways to kick ass.
  • Chekhov's Classroom: Some time after Harry started attending Hogwarts, Goto and Richardson gave him a drill on how he would arrange a defense of the school in the event of a second Blood Week. When the Atlantic Abyssals, under the cover of Winter Storm Elsa, launched one last desperate attack on the Scottish coast, he immediately employed those lessons to get all available shipgirls and allied Abyssals covering all of the directions that hostile Abyssal bombers might take.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet: Harry's Nice Guy personality has attracted him the affections of Natsumi, Shinano, Regina, and several others. Due to his young age, he hasn't caught on yet.
    • Recently, Harry has started to catch on that many girls are in love with him, but due to his experiences with the Dursleys, he feels he doesn't deserve it.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Parodied. Upon learning that he had been entered into the Triwizard Tournament, and all options for getting him out had been nixed, Harry launched into a massive diatribe...of Captain Haddock-style swearing. In spite of not using any actual curse words, he literally made the air around him turn blue, and it was later noted by some Non-Coms that he had not repeated a single phrase even once.
Harry: “TRILLIONS OF BLISTERING BLUE BARNICLES IN MERCELESS TENS OF THOUSANDS OF TYPHOONS FULL OF BILLIONS OF BLUNDERING BATTLESHIP CANNONS! A THOUSAND TRILLION OF A BILLION MILLION THOUSAND PLUNDERING PORTHOLES! PICKLED HERRING EATING FRESHWATER SWABS! MISERABLE FUNGI GLOBS OF MILDEW ON LOGRIMETHIC SYCOPANTHIC IGNORMATICAL POPPINJAYS!...QUADTRILLIONS OF ECTOMORPHIC RHYNCHOCEPHALIA! GOOGLEPLEX AURORA BOREALIS ICONOPLASTIC, PINHEADED VISIGOTHIC NAUTILOIDS! ENDIACARAN LAGERSTATTEN CARPET SELLING HALLUCINOGENIA! NATROCARBONATITE TEKITES FROM AN ANACOLUTHON APOAPSIS!”
  • Cuddle Bug: Harry became a massive one after being adopted and exposed to unrequited love.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Killed Slytherin's Basilisk, as per canon. The summer after Third Year, Harry surpassed said Basilisk by destroying the reanimated pelt of Tamamo-no-Mae.
  • Family of Choice: Openly views Nagato as his mother, the other shipgirls at Yokosuka and other naval bases as his aunts and sisters, and Jane Richardson at Sasebo as his cousin. note
  • Fusion Dance: Has gained the ability to perform Kitsune-Tsuki with Natsumi.
  • The Gadfly: He'll mess with people whenever the mood strikes him, or he's bored.
  • Gag Penis: Completely humiliated McLaggen when the twit undid Harry's belt to pants him, and when Harry was getting changed for the Yule Ball with Yoichi and Kaku, the Tanuki joked that Harry must have centaur blood.
  • Gender Bender: Harry Leferts has hinted in omakes that Harry will be able to assume a female form eventually. Specifically, what his previous incarnation, Natsue, looked like.
  • Gender Flip: In-Universe via Reincarnation, Harry was once the Chinese male Jiahao and the Japanese courtesan Natsue before becoming who he is currently.
  • Happily Adopted: Nagato takes him in after the discovery of his treatment by the Dursleys.
  • Heroic Lineage: The Potters have been stated to have fought against evil for centuries.
    • Turns out that the Potters are descended from none other than Astolfo, Charlemagne's crossdressing Paladin.
  • The "I Love You" Stigma: The abuse he suffered under his aunt and uncle has left him with a deeply-ingrained belief that he is undeserving of love. He's working past this, but it's a slow process.
  • Loophole Abuse: After becoming a Tiangou Animagus, Harry was legally required to register with the Ministry of Magic. However, registering ran the risk of his enemies in Britain learning about this. So he decided to register with the Kyoto Ministry instead.
  • Man, I Feel Like a Woman: Not Harry! When he took some Polyjuice Potion to turn himself into Isokaze, Harry ignored any new parts that he had obtained, choosing instead to focus on his new center of gravity. This, combined with not acting like a pervert in any way, has caused Harry to set a standard that no other man has been able to meet, as far as the Four Winds are concerned.
  • Master of None: Harry is studying multiple combat styles, with the knowledge that he will never be a master in any one of them. As the whole point is to give him skills that could take Voldemort by surprise, mastery is not what he's focused on.
  • Military Brat: He was adopted by Nagato, it comes with the territory. He also intends to become an officer in the JMSDF and become an admiral.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He killed Quirrell, he knows it, and the psychological effects of it are played painfully straight.
  • Nice Guy: He's a nice person by nature. His nice and selfless nature, however, is very much a result of his abusive childhood and his fears that everyone would leave him if he wasn't.
  • Non-Idle Rich: Harry has inherited so many funds that he wouldn't have to work a day in his life after he graduates, yet he intends to join the Navy.
  • Not Distracted by the Sexy: Harry has shown the ability to bathe with the women in his future Fleet with only a very small amount of allowing his eyes to wander.
  • Overly Prepared Gag: Harry, while everyone was resting from the Yule Ball, had his Fleet put lawn gnomes in every dormitory (passwords provided by Kenshō, as well as the Durmstrang ship and Beauxbatons carriage, with all of the gnomes clothes transfigured into something reflecting one of the people in said dorms, all so he could say that it looked like everyone, teachers and staff, was gnome for the holidays.
  • Precision F-Strike: It really says just how dire MACUSA fleeing to their bolthole is when Harry actually curses for once in his life.
After a minute or two, the wizard's eyes widened at what he was hearing, part of him noticing that Natsumi was doing the same as horror filled both their gazes, "… Fuck, this isn't a joke, is it?"
  • Pungeon Master: Has a tendency to drop puns at any opportunity, a trait inherited from Lily.
  • Scars Are Forever: Besides the canon lightning-bolt scar on his forehead, Harry also has a scar on his arm from when the basilisk from his second year bit him. Said scar won't be going away due to the dark magic that's part of the basilisk's nature.
    • Soon afterwards, Kuroshi the Jorogumo bit Harry. While the poison from her bite was neutralized by the basilisk venom that was still in his system, the scars from that bite also won't disappear anytime soon.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: To Natsumi and Haru's species. If he were to reveal it out loud, they would be forced to leave, or so he believes.note
  • Seeing Through Another's Eyes: After Hedwig became his familiar, Harry became able to see through her eyes.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Got the Parseltongue ability from the scar Horcrux, as per canon. However, Shiromizu gave him her blessing to make sure Harry would keep the ability even after the Horcrux was removed, while also ensuring it would become a hereditary ability that would pass on to his children.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Played for Laughs. Sometimes, the Tickle Monster awakens, and there is only one way to calm it.
  • Super Swimming Skills: Is such a good swimmer that Iku and the other subgirls are prone to teasing him by asking if he's sure his biological mother wasn't a subgirl herself.
  • Tranquil Fury: When he made his entrance to Hogwarts in light of his being entered into the Tri-Wizard Tournament and the authorities being unwilling or unable to get him out of it, he marches into the Great Hall, during breakfast, with a Shipgirl and Abyssal escort, Juuchi Yosamu prominently sheathed at his waist, and calmly delivers a very pointed message about how he didn't enter himself and that when he finds out who did, he was going to introduce them to the Potter Blood Sword, which he had drawn during that speech.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Harry, when pushed to the breaking point, tends to literally stop holding back the raw power of his magic. When this happened against the reanimated pelt of Tamamo-no-Mae, Harry just kept on going, even though its attacks should have outright killed him several times over.
  • Unusual Euphemism: When he swears, he doesn't use foul language most of the time, but instead does so like Captain Haddock. Demonstrated when he went on for ten minutes straight and at high volume, without repeating himself, when he found out that he got entered into the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Albus, several marines, and Shipgirl Fairies were taking notes on his swearing while he was doing so, due to how inventive it was.
    • The main reason for said creative swearing is because Nagato raised Harry to not use swear words.
  • Verbal Tic: Being raised among Shipgirls have led to Harry gaining tics from Yuudachi, Kongou, Tatsuta, among others.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: Occasionally cross-plays, and when in 3rd Year he is pranked so that he is forced to wear a female uniform for a week, he milks it for all it is worth.
  • You Remind Me of X: Unlike the canon example, due to not needing to constantly wear his glasses letting the features he inherited from his mother shine through, the Hogwarts staff tend to say Harry reminds them of Lily Potter. Even Severus Snape has mentally acknowledged Harry as being similar to his birth mother.

     Nagato
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/001_nagato_r_4097.png
Click to see Nagato Kai Ni.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Nagato's cuteness-obsessed persona, better known as "Nagamon" has to be pushed down by Nagato. Of course, everyone on base is well aware of that aspect of Nagato.
  • Exact Words: Offered to drop the charges of child abuse against the Dursleys if they would let her adopt Harry. Nagato never said anything about the ration fraud charges.note
  • Implied Death Threat: Upon learning from Dumbledore that Harry got entered into the Triwizard Tournament, Nagato tells him to have a pen and paper ready, just in case he needs to write his will.
  • Mama Bear: Harry's adoptive mother is a 32,000-ton battleship with eight 16-inch guns. She is very protective of her family.
  • Pungeon Master: Becomes this thanks to Lily passing on her spiritual weight to Nagato.

     Hoppou
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/northern_princess.png
  • Ascended Meme: For the longest time, readers joked that Hoppo's mittens were a Power Limiter helping her contain her vast powers... Cue Harry getting trapped in a WWII-Era Magical Imperial Japanese bunker, and the first thing Hoppo — utterly furious — does when she arrives on-site? Remove both mittens.
  • A Mother to Her Men: Is a mother in every sense to her fleet, and has their full loyalty as a result.
  • Adorable Abomination: She's an Abyssal Princess, and is as cute as a button.
  • Badass Adorable: She took on five Abyssal fleets that attacked her and decimated them while giving time for the human residents of her islands to get to safety and helped take on a Gashadokuro.
    • This trope is a given, considering she's an Elder Abyssal Princess.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Her rigging is completely gone, but she still gets her moments in.
  • Defector from Decadence: By way of near escape from death.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: How her fleet managed to thoroughly decimate the five fleets that simultaneously attacked Unalaska is due to her rigorously and mercilessly drilling her daughters to the point where the attackers may have won, but were so devastated that they were easily mopped up with the USN Shipgirls.
    • Is now rigorously training her granddaughter, Regalia, to become an Abyssal Combat Medic
  • Do Not Go Gentle: While she survived the attack on her and her fleet by five other Abyssal fleets, by the time they "defeated" her she was hidden in the rubble by one of her Wo-Class carriers, she and her fleet had completely decimated the attacking fleets, allowing the Americans to easily mop up the rest.
  • Genius Loci: Represents the Children Lost at Sea, with Dutch Harbor as her Seat of Power.
  • The Gloves Come Off: The very first thing Hoppou did when she arrived to rescue Harry and his classmates from a Sub-Unit-942 bunker was carefully and deliberately remove her mittens.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Hoppou might be one of the most peaceful Abyssals out there, but she trained every single member of the Fleet of Laughter to Elite levels, meaning that when they faced five fleets of Abyssals at Unalaska, for every member of the Fleet of Laughter that sank, six of their enemies sank.
  • Happily Adopted: By Nagato.
  • Last Stand: Her facing five Abyssal fleets which attacked her due to her refusal to kill the inhabitants of the Aleutian Islands, and her commanding a fleet to buy the time needed to give the inhabitants the time to evacuate or get to shelter. She survived, but most of her fleet did not.
  • Mama Bear: She is very protective of her daughters, as Research Princess found out when she was ripped apart by Hoppou's bare hands.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Normally Hoppou is a Cheerful Child who happily wears her Power Limiter gloves and acts like a normal girl. But when Harry, Natsumi, and his classmates were trapped in a Sub-Unit-942 bunker with their attempts to reanimate Tamamo-no-Mae, the Yamata no Orochi, and various other dangerous Yokai, Hoppou removed her mittens and got extremely serious.
  • Power Limiter: It is heavily implied that Hoppou's mittens serve this purpose.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Hundreds of years old in spite of looking like a child.
  • Third-Person Person: Tends to refer to herself in the Third Person, much like how a small child would. When she isn't, you're not dealing with Hoppou, adopted daughter of Nagato but the Northern Ocean Princess acting in her capacity as an Abyssal Princess and the actual head of the Fleet of Laughter.
  • Toast of Tardiness: Harry deliberately invoked this trope at one point, just to trigger a Nagamon moment.
  • Verbal Tic: Uses PO!
  • You No Take Candle: How she speaks when she first gets adopted.

     Shiromizu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shiromizu.jpg
Fufufu snake
A small 'white rat snake', who is nothing of the sort, that was taken in by Harry when he protected her from some schoolyard bullies. Except that she was also on the run from some kind of yokai that cannot allow her to live to reach her true power and potential. In reality, she is a young Mizuchi, and the yokai wishes to devour her to gain her powers.
  • Absurdly Small Demand: Shiromizu could have demanded any favor from senior Mizuchi Yodogawa after reincarnating the latter's husband Etsumi as a Mizuchi. Due to her humble origins, all Shiromizu asked was a friendship between their two courts, and the chance to cuddle her curvy senior.
  • Animal Wrongs Group: The only time Harry ever took Shiromizu to a show, one of these tried to 'free' her. She bit her. They never got invited back...
  • Cannibalism Superpower: After eating a few salamanders, Shiromizu becomes less bothered by cold, and her domain in Japan changes slightly to reflect this.
  • Fisher King: As a Mizuchi, Shiromizu is the Kami of her river. Later, she is enshrined as the Kami of Mount Ginzan, allowing her to freely manipulate the weather to a certain extent.
  • Happily Adopted: Nobody knows it with the possible exception of Natsumi, but Shiromizu has effectively declared Harry her little brother in all but blood. This will have huge ramifications down the line. Considering she's most certainly not a small 'white rat snake'.
  • Harem Nanny: She's not interested in the slightest in joining the budding harem antics. However she's more than willing to tweak things occasionally for her own viewing amusement as she is looking forward to it all with something approaching unholy glee.
  • Hero of Another Story: Some side-plots and canon omake feature her and Natsumi investigating supernatural incidents around Yokosuka.
  • In-Series Nickname: Natsumi calls her Ero-Hebi.
  • Noblewoman's Laugh: Virtually every appearance of her laughter is accompanied by her tail snapping out a fan from....somewhere....and 'fufufu'. This gets turned back on her a few times by Haru, who's even better at playing this to the hilt if she desired.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Being a powerful spiritual being herself, she was able to beat the stuffing out of Voldemort's shade when it tried to attack Harry even after Quirrel's body expired.
  • Non-Mammal Mammaries: A spot of good-natured ribbing at Natsumi sees her point out that, for not being mammalian, her humanoid form is rather well-endowed.
  • Ojou: See Above. Additionally, she really IS a noble, but she's kept it so well hidden that nobody at the Yokosuka base knows this fact at all. The entire group of yokai and minor kami inhabiting a hidden/forgotten castle near a mountain lake view her as their rightful Lady, and have done everything they can to keep her safe and hidden from a yokai that wishes to kill her before she can grow into her true potential.
  • Physical God: It gets revealed during the summer after Harry's second year that she is a Mizuchi when they face off against the youkai that wanted to consume her.
  • Snake People: Shiromizu can transform into a lamia-like form, which she uses to beat down Voldemort's Shade to save Harry.
  • Shipper on Deck: She has been setting up situations to nudge the Spirit of Kiri Castle into joining Harry's harem.
  • Shout-Out: Mount Ginzan, which Shiromizu was installed as the Kami of, is basically a 1:1 scale Gensokyo, complete with analogues of its inhabitants.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Averted. As Harry stated to his house-mates who believe in this trope, in Japan snakes are seen as the messengers of Gods.
  • Walking Spoiler: It is rather difficult to talk about Shiromizu without revealing that she is Harry's sister, a Mizuchi, and the Kami of Ginzan.

     Rose Potter
The spirit of a tea set that has been in Harry's family via Lily for multiple generations. Married to Haruna.
  • Bifauxnen: Particularly when wearing her train conductor's uniform; a few people have confused her for a boy. Removing her hat usually clarifies things.
  • Caring Gardener: Enjoys a little horticulture in her spare time; it generates nice little nibbles to go with the tea.
  • Expy: Many readers have likened her to Samantha Stewart out of Foyle's War
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Haruna is left quite hot under the collar after Rose utilises Bartitsu and routs a gang of ruffians in a manner straight out of Kingsman for their complete lack of manners.
  • Serious Business: Was quite displeased when Ooyodo tried to pull Admiral Goto away from a tea party so he could return to paperwork.
    Rose:"Tea time is courtesy time."
  • You Called Me "X"; It Must Be Serious: The first time she refers to him as Harry, not Master, while he is recovering from the encounter with Quirrel and Voldemort and has a nightmare where everyone he cares about calls him a murderer, in spite of the fact that everyone had made their thoughts clear that he wasn't.

     Hedwig
Harry's pet snow owl, and later familiar.
  • Deadpan Snarker: After becoming Harry's familiar, she was quick to start throwing some shade around.
  • Kick Chick: Has been taking Sikaran lessons from Amick.
  • Limb-Sensation Fascination: When becoming Harry's familiar gave her a human form, Hedwig was fascinated to discover that she had actual fingers. What's more, she was astonished to discover that she could move her eyes without rotating her head.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Tore multiple verbal strips from Crookshanks after he was caught helping Sirius Black get into Hogwarts. While Hedwig and the Potter-Nagato family were fully aware that Sirius was innocent, he had still been exposed to Dementors for more than a decade and was potentially unstable, making him a risk to the health of everyone in Harry's year in Gryffindor. And this was after Convoy, the ship's cat for HMS Hermione, had already taken Crookshanks to task, too.

     Ffion
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ffion.png
An Ever Elegant Shipgirl Maid!
A hospital ship and ocean liner that the Potters helped fund the construction of. Recently summoned in a test of a prefabricated smaller summoning chamber.
  • Expy: A Ninja Maid with Time Stands Still powers who happens to be a Knife wieldernote ? Hello, Sakuya Izayoi.
  • Devious Daggers: Calm and composed, and quite good at throwing her scalpels.
  • Meido: Is the head maid of the Welsh Potter estate.
  • Mundane Utility: Ffion's Time Master powers are excellent for if she has to act in her Master's defense...but she mainly uses them to expedite her duties as a maid.
  • Ninja Maid: What else could be the outcome when she can mimic Sakuya Izayoi's time manipulation abilities?
  • Time Stands Still: Can use the stasis charms that certain rooms in her hull had for operating on critical patients to generate this effect.
  • Undying Loyalty: To the Potter Family.

     Brigita Dunsany/Daughter-Bud
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brigita.jpg
Best shoggoth meido
A maid and bodyguard for Harry. Also a newly budded juvenile shoggoth offspring of her Sire-Progenitor who serves the Arashi Clan.
  • Accidental Innuendo: In-Universe. As Brigita's age can be measured in months, she is completely clueless about how certain phrases can be interpreted.
    • At the Yule Ball, when Greg shares some roast with her, she tells him that she likes his meat.
    • After retrieving and cleaning Draco's wand, she tells him that she polished his wand.
    • Shortly before the Second Task of the Triwizard tournament, she nearly causes several bystanders to pass out from laughing too hard at a malapropism caused by her misinterpreting sentence syntax.
Blaise Zabini, who was standing nearby as he currently chatted with Gregory Goyle and Brigita Dunsany, commented snarkily to his House-mate. "Also he has a bit of brains and maturity. Unlike Mc Wanker there who wouldn't know those if they hit him with a Blasting Curse."

Greg looked over to Blaise and shook his head with an amused look on his face as they watched the crestfallen Mc Laggen slink off in defeat. "Blaise, old chap, you can be a real arsehole, buddy. Way to stick the knife in and twist before dinner." Greg laughed.

Then Brigita burbled out her own thoughts in her bubbly eldritch voice when she rhetorically 'dropped the microphone'. "Yes-yes! Greg-date, Blaise-arsehole-buddy are you looking forward to pair-bonding in Slytherin-Dungeon before dinner-food tummy-yummies too?"

Then the shoggoth Meido blinked all her eyes in confusion at the choking, wheezing laughter that Blaise, Greg, and everyone in earshot of her accidental faux pas was now uncontrollably making.

"Is solid-reaction caused by something that Daughter-Bud said?"
  • Adorable Abomination: Is quite a sweet and innocent late-teenage girl... who is in reality a literal Lovecraftian Blob Monster.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: The maid 'Solid-semblance' form that she takes to blend into humanity. Shoggoths are also superb shapeshifting mimic predators who can assume the physical appearance of someone they have devoured.(A lock of hair is enough to generate a reasonable facsimile) as well as elements of the area such as snowbanks or piles of rubble.
  • Alliance with an Abomination: Her relationship to the Potters. They saved her Sire-Progenitor Tekili-chan (the last surviving shoggoth) and treat them well as valued friends as well as servants.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Where to start? She can shapeshift into almost anything that she has the mass to mimic, she gains memories by eating a creatures' DNA and RNA, and is capable of sensing magic and magnetic field lines with some of the organelles that she forms. Also she can digest anything organic from elephant seals and penguins to dust and vermin to a Unseelie Faerie beast. And she needs a magical nuclear reactor to stimulate her to reproduce.
  • Brown Note: A minor one where proximity to or interacting with her causes human and tsukumogami 'brains to itch'. This only works on those intelligent enough to try to work out what is off with her. Gregory Goyle finds her odd humming soothing.
  • Did We Just Have Tea with Cthulhu?: Her relations to the cast, She's sweet, polite, innocent, and is utterly terrifying in a fight.
  • Did You Just Romance Cthulhu?: Her relationship to Gregory Goyle. He sees her as a wonderful girl with large tits who is also a skilled Metamorphmagus. Truly ignorance is bliss in this case.
  • Genetic Abomination: The shoggoths are artificial life created by the Elder Things before humanity evolved and took over the planet. As a result, they have wildly Bizarre Alien Biology such as needing a manatech reactor to stimulate them to reproduce by cellular fission as a failsafe to prevent their slave race from getting too powerful. (It didn't work — the Shoggoths and Elder Things basically mutually killed off each other in a slave revolt 500,000 years ago.)
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Her relationship to the cast. She's clearly happy to be here and is enjoying meeting all of Potter-employer's pair-bonds for pair-bonding and knowledge-seeking activities such as hunting delicious-creatures. Also she has no clue about many human norms, such as wondering why all the changed reactions among the students when Harry crossplayed since shoggoths don't exactly have a gender....
  • Meido: Serves as one to Harry. She cleans (by eating vermin and dust), and protects her family by devouring threats to them.

     Barghast
An Abyssal Hellcat that Hoppou created to help protect Harry.
  • Deus Exit Machina: During the climaxes of Harry's First and Second Years, Barghast was being given some maintenance that made him unable to protect Harry.

    Meilong Potter
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/100701_hong_meiling_fx_5.png
China Dragon Girl
A Chinese Fireball who was adopted by Alphonse Potter. After being exposed to an intelligence-boosting potion, she learned his style, eventually progressing far enough on the path of cultivation that she could take on a human form.

  • Bare-Fisted Monk: By virtue of practicing Alphonse's style.
  • Expy: A red-haired Chinese girl who practices martial arts...hello there, Hong Meiling.
  • Happily Adopted: Views Alphonse as her father, and Harry as her cousin.
  • Uplifted Animal: Became far smarter than the average Chinese Fireball due to an intelligence-boosting potion.

The Potter Family

Harry's ancestors, one of the oldest families of Magical Britain. Of which he is the last........of the European ones

     Alphonse Potter
A distant ancestor of Harry, Alphonse was renowned for his physical strength and melee skills, often disdaining the use of wands in favour of his fists.

  • And the Adventure Continues: Recent revelations show that Alphonse may have learned the ways of Immortality and/or teamed up with Hercules and Sun Wukong.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: A rare western version, Alphonse was able to channel magic (and even some spells) through his fists.
  • Manly Facial Hair: A truly epic handlebar mustache adorned his face.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Alphonse's Portrait goes topless in order to show his fantastic physique.

     Ian Potter
Harry's Great-Great-Grandfather. An adventurous man, he was among the first of the West to make business ties in Japan after Perry's opening of the country.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Had lots of relations. But he ensured that his lovers were always comfortable, and that any and all bastards were provided for.
  • Famed In-Story: Ian's skill in battle, along with his other tendencies, have left quite an impression on people.
  • Loveable Sex Maniac: To a degree that all others seem tame by comparison. The number of women he is known to have slept with just keeps growing.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Word of God is that Ian wasn't that strong magically, but similar to Taylor Hebert, he was a master of taking supposedly weak abilities to ridiculous extents. Examples include using a banishing charm on his chopsticks to pierce his opponent's throat and modifying a harmless butterfly-shooting spell to shoot Japanese hornets that ate the faces of his enemies.

     Lyra Potter nee Black
Harry's Great-Great-Grandmother. And a filthy, dirty pervert. A writer of smut and erotica.
  • Depraved Bisexual: While her husband was limited only to women, Lyra was aggressively bisexual, and in fact encouraged Ian to bed even more women, especially if she could join in, or at the very least if he would fill her in on the details of his trysts so that she could use it for her books.
  • Ethical Slut: Despite her love of sex, Lyra by all accounts was content with abstaining from sex with any men that were not her husband.

     Mari Potter
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oip_406.jpg
Just an ordinary witch
Harry's American cousin. A Natural-Born subgirl witch who graduated Ilvermony just before Blood Week and awoke then.
  • Catchphrase: "You can have it back when I sink, da ze!"
  • Expy: Let's see...a blonde witch who rides around on a broomstick, has extreme sticky fingers, and likes to hang around in the setting's equivalent of Gensokyo...nice to meet you, Marisa Kirisame.
  • Sticky Fingers: On multiple levels.
    • She's a Potter.
    • She's an American subgirl.
    • Her crew are mostly Potters themselves.

     Mary Read & Anne Bonny
The infamous women pirates. As Harry is told by the sailshipgirl Revenge, who has both as fairies, Mary was a Potter through her father Harold. Never knowing of each other until she was an adult, when they met they fought. He won, but did promise that he'd come to her aid if Mary were ever in trouble. That time came when she and Anne were sent to The Gallows. Harold helped fake their deaths and took them both back to England. Both gave birth, Mary to a boy, Anne to a girl. Those children would eventually marry. Harry is their many times Great Grandson.

The Potter Armory

Weapons collected by the Potter family who have manifested as tsukumogami and are more than willing to answer the call to protect the family.

The Armory as a whole:

     Carnwennen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/160_arthur_pendragon_prototype_saber_1.png
Basically this but with black hair

The dagger used by King Arthur. Capable of turning his user, or himself, invisible just by being drawn.

  • Casting a Shadow: Carnwennen has a wide range of shadow-based powers, from being a Shadow Walker, to paralyzing his opponents by pinning their shadows, to using shadows to attack his enemies.
  • Cool Old Guy: Behind the snarky, sarcastic facade, you can tell that he is having a lot of fun.
  • Deadpan Snarker: At the antics of the 'children' with only Crocea Mors being roughly his age.
  • Expy: Is basically Saber Arthur with black hair instead of blonde.
  • Failure Knight: Turns out that behind the Deadpan Snarker is a man who is suffering greatly. Upon manifesting an avatar after the battle of Camlann, he saw that Camelot was doomed, and took steps to ensure that the Britons would survive regardless. For a while, it seemed like all of his efforts would actually pay off. Then Prydwen manifested, set out on her mission to collect the same Arthurian Relics that Carnwennen had given to people in the kingdom to unite them, and swiftly undid all of Carnwennen's efforts. That's on top of almost killing him in a battle and causing the death of his Love Interest.
  • The Lost Lenore: Arianwen, an albino girl Carnwennen met during his quest to ensure Briton would survive Arthur's death. When Prydwen killed her father, the people blamed her, due to albino's being viewed as evil. Carnwennen arrived too late to prevent her dying from the injuries they inflicted.
  • Older Than They Look: Looks to be in his late teens, really over a millennia old and has the attitude of a world weary senior citizen. Acts as the elder statesman of the Armory.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: Was hit hard with this back with King Arthur. While his powers are both awesome and practical, he simply could not compare with the likes of Excalibur and Clarent.
  • Papa Wolf: Mess with the Potters, his current charge Natsumi, or Granddaughter Tsukiakari and he will give you a beating that you will never forget.
  • Scars Are Forever Has a scar on his chest and back from when he was stabbed in battle against his sister, Prydwen.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: A weaponized variation. His Shadow Walker ability, and general sneakiness, let him appear and disappear at will.

     Sabah
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/124_hassan_of_serenity_assassin_3.png
A scimitar whose blade is able to secrete a variety of poisons.
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Almost at Juuchi's level.
  • Cultured Badass: Talks about philosophy and poetry. Incredibly lethal stealth expert.
  • Expy: Of Hassan of Serenity.
  • The Hashshashin: Originally forged in the Middle East to serve the Hashshashin Order. Acquired by the Potters in the Sixth Crusade and currently acts as the last Grandmaster of the Hashshashin.
  • Master of Disguise: Spent several years disguised as "Stabby", a Potter house elf.
  • Poisonous Person: Is able to secrete any poison that she has been previously coated with. In serious fights, uses a blend of poisons to take advantage of a foe's weaknesses.
  • Ship Tease: With Andraste. This dates back to their first meeting in the Sixth Crusade. Because Andraste nullifies all poisons for her and her bearer, they worked together often to prevent her user from having a fatal accident.

     Andraste
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mash_3.png
A shield passed down through the Potter family. Enchanted to resist multiple types of assaults, and can be collapsed into a bracer.

     Cathy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jeanne1.png
The Sword of Saint Catherine, most famously wielded by Joan of Arc herself.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: One of the nicest members of the armory. Deadly if you piss her off.
  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe: Gains a pretty significant power boost by praying to God.
  • Expy: As the blade of Joan of Arc, she is one of Jeanne D'Arc, naturally.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Cathy is a gentle soul, who will not take a life unless there is no other option. She is also the current record holder for number of Dementor kills in a single night.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Gold-haired, and by far one of the nicest people in the universe.
  • Jeanne d'Archétype: She was the sword of the Trope Namer, so she absorbed some of Jeanne's personality and appearance.
  • Lady of War: When roused to fury by Creatures of Darkness, she is terrifying. Just ask the Dementors. Oh wait, you can't.
  • Martial Pacifist: Prefers to avoid violence most of the time. That being said, if she does decide it's necessary to fight, she can easily kick butt.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: Fires off a real beauty just before taking on a horde of Dementors, in response to their attack on Harry and Sirius.
Cathy: "Here I plant my standard...and here I stand."
  • Religious Bruiser: Extremely faithful to God, and one of the strongest members of the Potter Armory.
  • Smite Evil: Extremely antithetical to Creatures of Darkness such as Dementors. She serves as the Armory's big gun when it comes to dealing with pure evil.
  • Technical Pacifist: Did not kill any of the Frenchmen who were out to kill Helena Potter when she first manifested during the French Revolution. She did, however, beat them within an inch of their lives.

     Bill
A revolver from the Old West. Wyatt Earp's favorite pistol.

     Crocea Mors
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_servant_005_1.png
The sword famously wielded by Julius Caesar. Also called Goldie.

     Dracul
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fgo_elizabeth_1.png
A spear forged by a member of the German Potters who fell to the dark side. Was later claimed by the English Potters.

     Tsukiakari no Suzu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tsukiakari.jpg
She should be wearing a version of Akitsu Maru's uniform
Originally a generic kyu gunto who was abandoned by her original master once he found a proper katana, Tsukiakari was picked up, named, and turned into a masterpiece by Ian Potter.
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Ian Potter enchanted her with spells developed from his study of those on Juuchi Yosamu.
  • Covert Pervert. Hides it well, but she's pretty perverted. Of course, her first real master was Ian Potter.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Excels at fighting large groups. Not so great at one-on-one.
  • Cute Bruiser: Looks like a late-teenage girl and cute as a button. The most powerful kyo gunto ever.
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: One of the enchantments that Ian used on Tsukiakari was to enchant her true self so if her blade ever got damaged, she could simply sheathe the pieces of herself and her blade would repair itself.
  • Magic Knight: Like her first master Ian Potter, she fights with spells and steel at the same time.
  • One-Man Army: Is easily able to clear a trench full of undead by herself during Verdun.
  • Took a Level in Badass: From mass-produced kyu gunto to second-in-command in the battle to reseal Verdun.
  • The Unchosen One: Originally a generic Kyu Gunto. Was heavily enchanted by Ian Potter to be a masterpiece of a blade in her own right.

     Big Iron
A cannon.

     Nightbane
An enchanted bayonet. Formerly belonged to the Evans family of Harry's mother Lily who wielded him in World War One, World War Two, Korea, The Cold War, and the Falklands.
  • Bayonet Ya: A crack shot and never happier when on the end of a rifle.
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: When pinned down by a machine gun pit, grabs Ehren and Sabah to "invite Cousin Fritz for a spot of tea and biscuits".
  • Gallows Humor: Refers to the news of Verdun waking up with 'showing the Frogs how to do it right' and then quotes Rudyard Kipling's poem Tommy.
  • Sergeant Rock: A career British NCO and proud of it.

     Juuchi Yosamu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/juuchi_8.jpg
The masterpiece of the swordsmith Muramasa, capable of cutting anything, but causes her wielder to want to use her indiscriminately. Unless they're a Potter. Currently the honor blade of the Potters.
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Capable of literally cutting anything.
  • Berserk Button: Does not like it when Crocea Mors says Umu. Seeing Kyoshu.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Thanks to her evil sister Kyoshu, had a very hard life before leaving Japan.
  • The Dreaded: In Europe, she is known as the Potter Blood Sword. Because often when a Potter is seen wielding her, someone is going to die.
  • Expy: Of Karasuba.
  • Hate Plague: Anyone who wields her will fall victim to one, unless they're a Potter.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: As a masterpiece by the Japanese swordsmith Muramasa, Juuchi is the epitome of this trope.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: When she first met Kenshō and accidentally caused her to have a panic attack by mentioning someone using her to hurt Harry note
  • Hiroshima as a Unit of Measure: Juuchi's name has been used to describe the level of smugness shown by other characters.
  • Noodle Incident: Is annoyed by the very mention of Kogitsune, due to a previous encounter.
  • Only the Chosen May Wield: Double Subverted. Anyone can wield her, but if they're not a Potter, they fall victim to a Hate Plague.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The hot-tempered, trollish, and bloodthirsty Red to the more controlled Honjo's Blue.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Thanks to Kyoshu has PTSD. Upon meeting Kyoshu again this results in a massive fight.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Blood Oranges.
  • Troll: What else would you expect from a Muramasa?
  • Vitriolic Best Buddies: With Honjo Masamune.

     Amelie
A blunderbuss owned by the Potters.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: Blunderbusses were the shotguns of their day, and Amelie is an example of a one-handed version.

     Taiyang
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tamamocaster.png
A dao forged by Tamamo-no-Mae. Currently wielded by Natsumi.

     Vala Ulfberht
The Blade of a Mother's Duty. Forged for a Baltic queen to rescue the queen's daughter, and imbued with the spirit of the queen and her seven shieldmaidens.
  • Knightly Sword and Shield: Vala is the spirit of a longsword and round shield, with the shield shrunk and stored on the sword's hilt when not in use.
  • Mama Wolf: As per her origin, Vala is very protective of her charges.
  • Shield Bash: Vala uses her shield for offense as well as defense.
  • Summon Magic: Can summon wolves made of snow, the Fenrisúlfr.

     Schild Gottes
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/schild_gottes.jpg
Shield of God
A German lange messer sword crafted and enchanted by the German Potters to serve as a defense from the British branch's Juuchi Yosamu.
  • Combat Clairvoyance: A remnant from the first Master she had after being enchanted, she can see any incoming threat to herself or her wielder over the next five seconds.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: Tries and fails at this after learning the full extent of her failure.
  • Flawed Prototype: Was one of the first messers, but her blade ended up bending forward during heat treatment. Unlike most examples of the trope, the flaw does not hurt her performance much.
  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: She never believed that The Holocaust could ever be committed by anyone who claimed to still be human. Finding out otherwise nearly broke her.
  • Made of Iron: Her enchantments give her a unique defensive capability, up to and including allowing her to deflect — but not block — the Killing Curse.
  • Meaningful Name: Hers translates as "Shield of God," and she was enchanted to protect her wielders from almost anything.
  • My Greatest Failure: The death of Hans Potter in 1918 from the one thing she could not deflect or defend him from — poison gas. Worse yet for Schild's guilt complex, the soldier that she did save from the gas attack was a corporal from Austria...
  • Old Retainer: Served as this to the German Potters until World War I.
  • Retired Badass: First seen living in a convent after her failures during World War I, the Rape of Nanking, the death of the German Potters, and then World War II.
  • Summon to Hand: One of her enchantments allows her to apparate her true self up to fifty miles, leading to this trope being both played straight and inverted.
  • Trauma Conga Line: Hoo boy. The twentieth century was not kind to Schild, between her multiple failures to protect people (something she was very much not used to), losing her home multiple times, and learning that the family she was made to serve was killed off down to one child. It takes a century for her to truly heal.

     Kenshō
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/778272ed_0636_4518_bde6_d4cca8160c1d.jpeg
The Pancreas Destroyer
A kogatana that was crudely made by Sub Unit-942 from the tip of Kyoshu's blade. After being Pottered by Harry during the Orochibunker incident, he used some steel shavings from the shipgirls in his life and his skill at Transmutation to turn her into a properly forged blade, allowing her to actually manifest.
  • Badass Adorable: Is basically a Fun Size version of Kyoshu, and tends to act so cute she is called Pancreas Destroyer Kenshou on the threads. The badass is shown when she fights Kagegiri to a standstill, with the latter blade being the one who killed Jack the Ripper himself.
  • Body Horror: The job that Sub Unit-942 did involved grinding her blade down with a grinder and spot-welding a tang onto her. Harry's other weapon spirits described it as the pain that would be caused by deep, bad burns, that would never go away in that state, and that in some cases it would be merciful to just melt her down.
  • Expy: Kenshō's ability to make people forget that she exists makes her one to Koishi Komeiji. Visually she is a reference to Rengoku.
  • Freak Out: Had a fairly epic one when Juuchi suggested that Kenshō might be used against Harry, something that was all too common with Kyoshu, being claimed by someone else and used against her previous master.
Juuchi slowly blinked at that and gave Harry a look of concern even as her mind whirled and her hand itched to have her true self in it, "So said powers could be used against you, Master-" She didn't get any further when there was a scream of horror from the little version of her reviled sister, "What-"
Said blade spirit was shaking her head rapidly, face pale and expression one of despair and horror, "No, no, I-I don't want to be used against Master! Please, please don't use me against Master! N-no, don't use me like that! Master! Master don't forget me! Please! S-some one stop them! Master no! I don't want you forgotten or for you to forget, Master! No no no nononononono!"
  • Perception Filter: Apparently an evolution of Kyoshu's powers, Kenshō has the ability to make people forget that she exists. As shown on the train trip to Hogwarts for Harry's fourth year, she can even scribble all over someone's face and no one will even notice until she is gone.
  • Reality Warper: Kenshō can make spells forget that they have been cast, and cause damaged objects to forget that they have been damaged.
  • Superior Successor: Inherited Kyoshu's mind manipulation powers and has taken them to new heights.
  • Trauma Button: As she was created from part of Kyoshu's tip, Kenshō remembers how whenever her mother changed hands, the first target her new wielder attacked would be her previous master. Naturally, simply suggesting that Kenshō could have that happen to her will cause a Freak Out.

     Huixing
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tamamo01.png
A set of flying claws once wielded by Tamamo-no-Mae. Currently inherited by Natsumi.
  • Chef of Iron: Is quite skilled in cooking, on top of being a capable fighter with her true self.
  • Expy: Of Tamamo Cat.
  • Little Bit Beastly: In addition to the fox ears and tail, Huixing also has fox paws in the place of her hands and feet. Fortunately, she can disguise them as human appendages.
  • Reincarnation Romance: Was on extremely affectionate terms with Natsue, Harry's previous incarnation. Now that she knows he's her reincarnation, and found them to click together in a similar manner, she is looking to rekindle that relationship.
  • Verbal Tic: Tends to end her sentences with "Woof" and "Mrow". When excited, she'll say, "Aoowooo!"
  • Wolverine Claws: Claws attached to a chain, allowing them to be thrown.

     Joyeuse
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/charlemagne_extella_link.png
The sword of Charlemagne. Currently dwelling with Johann and Marie in the German estate.

     Yue
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/604200a1.png
A dagger previously wielded by Su Daji

     Argalia and Melissia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/astolfo3.png
They both share the same look
The Lance of Argalia and Melissia, Astolfo’s sword. Weapons that belonged to the Paladin of Charlemagne that were passed down to his descendants, who would go on to become the Potter Family.
  • Always Identical Twins: They look virtually indistinguishable from one another, despite one being male and the other female.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: When they returned to Harry after receiving a letter from Joyeuse, this was what happened: note
  • Cool Horse: Rubacano, their horse, which was taken by Astolfo. Apparently, he has Odin’s Sleipnir as his father and one of Helios/Apollo’s horses as his mother. note
  • The Dreaded: Despite being Cloudcuckoolanders, they are still weapons that belonged to a Paladin of Charlemagne. When asked where they have been all these years: note
  • Expy: Argalia is based on Rider Astolfo, while Melissia is a Gender Flip of said Servant's Saber counterpart.
  • The Fool: Just like Astolfo himself, Argalia and Melissia are impossible to scare, and blessed by supernatural luck. Even when faced with a Supernatural Fear Inducer, they are completely immune to its effects and more than capable of pressing ahead.

     Kagegiri
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kagegiri.jpg
Kaa-chan?note
Click to see her child form
A dagger used by Natsue, Harry Potter's previous incarnation.
  • Expy: Is an aged-up clone of Assassin Jack the Ripper.
  • Honey Trap: Her preferred method of dealing with sexual predators is to lure them in, take them to a secluded location, and end their lives.
Kagegiri: "Oji-San? Can you help me find my Kaa-San? I lost her... Oji-San? Where are we going? Is Kaa-San there? Oji-San? Why are you closing the door to the room and pulling at your pants? Oji-San... how much blood you seem to have."
  • I Will Find You: Has been waiting for centuries for Natsue's reincarnation to awaken. Now that he has, she is searching for Harry Potter.
  • Meaningful Name: Was named after Natsue used her to kill a Kagewani that had been sent to kill Mikuzume.
  • Scars Are Forever: Has a scar over her left eye, from the battle where she put down London's most famous Serial Killer.
  • Serial-Killer Killer: Targets serial killers, especially those of the sexual predator variety, who the law has proven unable to punish. One noteworthy example is Jack the Ripper himself.
  • Stripperiffic: Kagegiri's casual clothes are, shall we say, extremely revealing.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Can freely edit her avatar's age and body type.
