openLaconic edit war Live Action TV
On December 6th, Randomeditor 6969 added the following to Laconic. The Mandalorian
The given edit reason was, quote, "It's true.", unquote. Note that the page already had a more accurate laconic description; this was added below it. It's also worth noting for those unfamiliar with the show that this is a blatant joke, deliberately reframing the show's dramatic Space Western plot as a comedic slice of life, and is outright incorrect in one instance (the protagonist was never a Space Pirate, he was a Bounty Hunter).
On December 8th, snivyTsutarja deleted it on the basis that only one description was allowed per laconic page. On December 14th, Randomeditor replaced the original laconic with their jokey "true" version, without an edit reason. On December 19th, snivy reverted it, also without an edit reason. Today, Random undid snivy's revert.
Edited by Dirtyblue929openTroper with bad grammar.
Alhmeddgorshy's edits have incredibly poor grammar. I sent them a grammar PM and they seemed receptive enough when they responded, but their edits after they responded have seen no further improvement. They've also placed YMMV tropes on non-YMMV pages (one of their edits for WesternAnimation.Generator Rex is Evil Is Cool).
Edited by N8han11openReclaiming lost Pantheon profiles
A former Trope Pantheons contributor named Mr Duckington was recently banned. Given his lack of tact with edit reasons (which we have also endured), consistent rudeness on the forums and ban evasion, this move is well-warranted and a necessary measure.
However, his sandboxes contain incomplete Trope Pantheons content that as regular practice, are reclaimed in order to complete and publish, with consensus from the forum of course. In particular, Cozy Glow and Eternatus. I was quite surprised to see that his sandboxes were cut alongside his troper page, which as far as I know is not usually done, and not this fast. I PMed moderator Septimus about this but I wanted to make sure.
Given that the pages of the troper in question were cut only 24 hours ago, I would like to request that these sandboxes:
... be restored, if only temporarily, so we can safely transfer this incomplete content to our sandboxes for completion and publication. If they can only be restored temporarily, I hope a specific time period can be set for us to begin transfer and copying. If the cutting is unfixable then I apologize for the needless bother.
openHype Backlash = Flame Bait?
I recently found out that The Avengers (2012) won an "award" for Most Overrated Movie of 2012. This can be at least partially attributed to good word of mouth and glowing reviews it received at the time of its release, which raised viewers' expectations to a level the film couldn't possibly hope to fulfill. Some reviews on this very site seem to echo this sentiment, with a number of tropers expressing that although they have enjoyed the film, they don't consider it to be anything special.
These conditions theoretically qualify the movie for Hype Backlash, but, upon checking the work's YMMV page, I found out that the original entry was deleted way back in 2017, with the following edit reason: "HB doesn’t allow examples."
This caught by surprise, as I was unaware of this policy and in fact know of several pages that list Hype Backlash among its tropes. I just wanted to know if this rule is still in effect, in which case I will immediately cut said examples. If it's not, then should I restore the deleted entries?
openHow to split the Anime, Comic Books, and Literature Big Bad pages?
BigBad.Anime And Manga, BigBad.Comic Books, and BigBad.Literature are getting too long, and I am thinking of splitting the contents into folders to make them easier to find. But what should be the intervals I use? Should I split them into one folder per letter or do A-F, G-L, M-R, and so on? Or something else?

openAsking for a moderator.
What's the easiest way to contact a moderator? I saw something creepy on this site but I don't want to publically talk about it to avoid giving it too much attention from public.

A Series of Unfortunate Events has multiple tropes that only apply in The Film of the Book which has its own page. Those shouldn't be on the page for the books, correct?
openDelete Big Sister Instinct
I accidentally made an Image Links for Big Sister Instinct. I forgot about the actual trope. Can someone please delete the Big Sister Instinct Image Links page for me, please? Thanks.

Edited by Baolen2445openSense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story has a OBC entry that's very strange. Videogame
Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story has a very strange Overshadowed by Controversy entry that doesn't explain the whys and how it was overshadowed.
Also it's based around the moral backlash against the Switch version which has not released, doesn't it count if it is based around an recently released version?.
Update; Here's the entry.
- Overshadowed by Controversy: As mentioned on the main page under Content Warnings, the developers had to release an official statement that the Switch port of the game will remain uncensored. This is because, as this news update states, coverage of the game "was shared in some twitter and facebook groups which made it their mission to harass and send abuse toward both [Top Hat Studios Inc] as well as the developers of Sense publicly and privately, including significant threats as well as doxxing in addition to other less than ideal messages and false information about the game". Said media attention then led to the publishers "accused of making up the controversy for a marketing stunt, which, as those who follow [Top Hat Studios Inc's] social media may have seen, was certainly not the case".
openCleaning after problematic edits
Hi all,
Can I get some help in cleaning up this edit history? The reasons should be obvious if you take a look.
openLegacies - Character revert Live Action TV
On the character page for Rafael had the example
- Chick Magnet: He catches the eye of both Josie and Lizzie when he first appears at the school. It's hinted Hope harbors an attraction to him also.
Hope's addition to the example was deleted by troper AnonymousBitchFromHell without reason. To a new version
- Chick Magnet: He catches the eye of both Josie and Lizzie when he first appears at the school.
I believe the original version still counts as their seemed to an attraction, AnonymousBitchFromHell even added shiptease between them as an example. I sent them two messages indicating my wish to add the original version back and check if they want to discuss it with no response.
Should I wait for input from them or go ahead for the revert.
Edited by TuvokopenVideo sound skipping.
Sorry ahead of time if this is the wrong place for this...
So, I've been uploading some video clips lately. (Because I own the complete DVD set for The A-Team and felt it needed more love.) And I've got a problem with the one I'm trying to upload now...
So, the video file on my computer is totally fine. I can watch through it and it works just fine. But I uploaded it, and I can watch it on the site while it's awaiting approval, and the uploaded version has REALLY bad audio skipping/stuttering.
The other two video examples I've uploaded both came out fine, and I'm not sure why this one is having so much trouble. Has anyone else encountered this?
openCM and MB additions?
Many of troper STARCRUSHER 99's edits involve adding potholes and other (otherwise justifiable for grammar and such) minor edits to Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard entries often immediately after the entries are added.
My impression is that such additions also need approval. But it seem the troper is involved in sandboxes, cleanups, and other projects, and their edits are good otherwise. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and ask what, if anything, is going on? (Do they have some kind of approval? Are such edits ok now?)
open TRS crowner for Playing the Player
There is currently a Trope Repair Shop thread for Playing The Player with an active crowner. If one wishes to vote on the crowner or otherwise participate in the thread, now would be a good time.

UsefulNotes.Black Lives Matter Movement was moved to its redirect UsefulNotes.Black Lives Matter, was this discussed anywhere? I ask because in the TLP for the original page there was discussion that landed on the "Movement" being the more appropriate choice so a move should probably have some discussion.
I note that the page was moved by AHI-3000 who has a history of unilateral page moves, particularly inappropriate Franchise/ page moves.
