openEdit War on Uncertain Audience Videogame
Black Yakuzu 94 added an entry to Uncertain Audience about Sonic the Hedgehog on December 19th of 2020. Boxer And Crew Socks axed it with no explanation on the 21st, and Yakuzu restored it 8 minutes later.
openBuffs, reworks, nerfs, and the mess afterwards Videogame
Balance Buff and Nerf have trope pages for significant changes to the game, but on my quest to update Rainbow Six Siege Operators - Base Game, I have come across a lot of old changes and references to patches that have since changed. Should tropes related to things that existed in previous versions of the game but no longer apply (like reworks) be kept? Many characters in that page have tropes relating to things that no longer apply, such as secondary gadgets they no longer have, like flashbangs and other grenades. While it would be helpful to have tropes describing their current loadouts, I don't feel that previous ones are worth a mention.
Edited by Morgisboardresolved Dragalia Lost Antagonists Videogame
Recently, I moved the antagonists of the game Dragalia Lost into seperate pages for campaign, event, and void battle. However, I left Adventurer Story antagonists on the base antagonists page. After some thought, I feel like I should have moved them too when I did all that... That's where I ask... Should I create another antagonists page for adventurer story antagonists or move them over to the NPCs page? Or, alternatively, are they fine where they currently are?
Edited by ZerukinopenWas that allowed to not give context about spoilers? Videogame
So I was looking at BrĂĽtal Legend character page and I found this character file about a Walking Spoiler named The Leader of the Drowning Doom. They have a picture of the character from behind even they show thier face in the game just because according to the Walking Spoiler example they say this:
- Walking Spoiler: Why no, you're not allowed to even see her face or her name. Progress further into the Age of Metal and you'll understand.

openEdit war on Hades' YMMV page. Videogame
On the YMMV page for Hades, troper _____________ added an example for Narm:
- Narm: The game is rated T, so it can't show anything too crazy, but what we hear in the blacked-out sex scenes that include Thanatos largely consists of what can be described as awkwardly serious chuckling, perhaps with a crack of Megaera's whip.
A few days later, Zaptech removed this example, with the edit reason "Pretty sure that this is intentionally humorous.". Then, a few days after that, _____________ added it back, with the edit reason, "Well, I find it unintentionally humorous.".
I decided to bring this here because, besides it officially being an Edit War, this seems to being something that _____________ has done before (ie. add a YMMV example based more on his own opinions than the general opinion of the fans), as a comment on this post for Demon's Souls brought up him doing this with an example for Anti-Climax Boss
openCreating a page for the command and conquer generals contra mod Videogame
I feel like the contra mod for cnc generals is unique enough to warrant a page, with its revamped units, tactics, special ranking system lock, and an epic unit for each subfaction, 2 in the case of one general.
So can it be given the green light to create? And if I'm chosen to design it can I get some help?
Edited by ssbob90openDefiance to ZCE notice and edit war on BadassGay entry Videogame
I saw this coming from a mile away. Fireboltprime uncommented a folder I originally commented out because its sole trope was a ZCE, then added more tropes "to appease the overlord". Not exactly a bad move, but they did not elaborate on Red Oni, Blue Oni, which is grounds for edit war and non-compliance with Zero-Context Example. Also, they re-added Badass Gay, which I deleted twice because two other tropers added it prior to Fireboltprime. Is it just me, or do most of these tropers come out of the woods, ignorant that Badass Gay has been cut since a while ago? Not to mention that I explicitly stated in my edit reasons that Badass Gay is no longer a trope.
openRude reply to grammar notifier Videogame
Sullytofu is one of those people who keep confusing "its" with "it's" for possessive on their edits. On their latest edit, I fixed and sent them a notifier, only for them to dismiss me with a pretty rude reply.
Edited by AnoBakaDesuopenRequesting mod move of Mass Effect 2 character pages Videogame
Five Mass Effect 2 character pages use the invalid namespace MassEffect2AntagonistsAndNpcs/. I know the mods have a tool to move pages while preserving the edit history, and this seems like a good time to use it. Willowleaf24 volunteered here to update the navigation on the Mass Effect character subpages once they're moved.

openWould like someone to check my work. Videogame
The character page for Pikmin was getting pretty laggy to edit, so I split it up into several pages like some other character pages I've seen. Never done this before, so I'd like someone to make sure I didn't mess anything up porting the pages over.
Edited by TokoWHopenDo Steam/Xbox/PS achievements count for work pages? Videogame
I was thinking of making a page for House Flipper, and one of the potential tropes I was going to add was an example of Shout-Out due to the Steam achievement for selling to the buyer Gorgio Shanua, which is "I'm Belieber".
Does this count? Since it's technically not in the actual game, but it is directly connected to the game...

openEdit Warring on ''YMMV/DemonsSouls'' Videogame
Yesterday (11/15) I added an entry to the Demon's Souls regarding the reception to the music for the 2020 remake in They Changed It, Now It Sucks!. The general consesus from what I have gathered is that the changes to the music are the area that is seen as changed for the worse due to the music going more into trying to be "epic", which takes away from the setting.
This was what I put originally:
- While the remake has been well recieved for being faithful yet visually amazing, the music is the one area agreed to be changed for the worse. The issue isn't that the remixed music is bad, it is considered epic and great to listen to, but there was a charm to the original soundtrack that fit the game heavily. Now the 2020 remake's music sounds over the top compared to how subdued a number of the original songs were. The Maiden Astraea theme is a good example of this: in the original it was a somber song that was radically different from the rest of the themes in the game, which contributed to why the fight became one of the most remembered fights in the game. The new theme is more dramatic and intense, robbing the fight of the intended Player Punch.
Later Dem Boyz editted the entry for no reason to the following:
- While the remake has been well recieved received for being faithful yet visually amazing, the music has not been as well received. The music is very contenous; with some claiming good but many find it takes away from the heavy orchestra, similar to Bloodborne. That being said, the game's original composer, Shunsuke Kida◊, has remaked on how much loves the newer grandoise take.
Now I didn't think about this and changed it back while adjusting the text a bit to be less Natter, which is edit warring so I made a mistake doing that and should have come here first. After, Dem Boyz changed it back and the message left was "You don't get to decide that".
As it reads now, this is incorrectly using the entry and doesn't actually explain what the issue is very well. Plus it doesn't matter what the original composer said, this is about the players experience. The entry he edited was adjusted by someone else prior to him changing it again, so it seems like only this troper is taking issue with it:
- While the remake has been well received for being faithful yet visually amazing, the music has not been as well received. The soundtrack is grandiose, but many find that it takes away from the somber and bleak atmosphere the game presents, making fights more epic than they actually are. The Maiden Astraea theme in particular is often cited as the biggest offender, as it sounds like it's trying to turn the fight into a grand conflict rather than an unique track.
openChanging video game name to English title Videogame
Following up on Persona 5 Strikers, all the info got confirmed today. But now that the official English title isn't Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, is there a way to change the name on the original page, or do I have to move everything to a new page with a new title?
Edited by snivyTsutarjaopenTrying to Prevent Edit War on ThatOneLevel.SuperMarioBros Videogame
So a few weeks ago, I did a large edit on ThatOneLevel.Super Mario Bros that includee removing either every or nearly every entry that falls into Brutal Bonus Level territory, since those are expected to be hard and are therefore exempt from the trope.
Just a little while ago, a user by the name of KoopaKid17 added a few entries from a few Yoshi games. Nearly every single one of them are Brutal Bonus Level examples that I've deleted before because they are locked off behind 100% Completion of the world they're in and are therefore not required to finish the game.
In order to prevent an Edit War, what would be the best way to go about this situation?
openWizard101 Reference Overdosed Help Videogame
Hi y'all! I recently started a Reference Overdosed page for Wizard101, and need some help finding more references to put there. It has a HUGE amount of them that are seemingly going unnoticed by any community outside of those in the game. Thanks!
open Download link for Scelus’ Path? Videogame
Scelus Path is a game made by Sean Nichols, who made The Last Resurrection. I am interested in it because it looks So Bad, It's Good, but I cannot seem to find a download link or a video about it- the only record of this game existing is the trope page. Can anyone track down a link?
I have seen some tropes that skim on this (Beauty Is Never Tarnished even mentions this in passing but it isn't for what I am talking about). This isn't specifically about games either.
Anyways. Is there a specific trope that can be referenced to when the deaths female characters endure are not as violent/gory as male ones? Not trying to say death is gentle in anyway but what I mean is, like in Resident Evil 4 Leon can have his face burned off, head cut off and various other deaths. Ashley on the other hand only has one exclusive death where her neck is snapped and doesn't affect her hourglass figure in any way.
I was playing Star Wars Chess (yes I am serious) and noticed Leia's "deaths" compared to Luke. Again there is some serious overlap with the trope mentioned but some of her deaths it isn't exactly clear when she dies honestly. Darth Vader looks more like he kidnaps her more than kill her.
I guess, my question is that is there a trope that covers specifically when the deaths or even just the penalties for the ladies are not as violent as males?
