openTrope or work? Web Original
Rules of the Internet doesn't look like a trope to me. It probably belong in a work namespace, maybe WebOriginal/
resolved You can't use playing with when troping real life, can you?
Home by Christmas. The trope isn't on NRLEP so there's no problem with Real Life folder itself. However, The Big Bopper added several Averted Trope, Inverted Trope, and call one "played straight" (and this one is minor Wall of Text) to Real Life folder World War II entry.

Since the decade has ended, though not culturally (some people think that the decade doesn't start until the "1" year), do we discuss a page image at this thread, or should it go with its own IP thread?
Also, regarding the thread I have linked, there had been a lot of ROCEJ edits popping up again after the first cleanup, plus there are still lingering issues such as the History Repeats example.
Edited by alnair20aug93openAssitance with turning a JPEG into a Transparent PNG Web Original
I've been told that the new Page Image that I've set up for the "SD Gundam" Franchise page should be a Transparent PNG and not a JPEG. I found two pages to help me with this, but I don't like how the Transparent version came out.
For the sake of comparison, here's the PNG version of the Page Image;
And here's the Transparent version;
The colors are completely washed out and it looks less lively and proper than it should be! Could someone please give me some help on how to make the image Transparent without taking away the colors?
openClarification
Would a character still qualify as a Child Hater if they only specifically hate babies, not older children?
openAbout the image I wanted to edit for the [[Wayfarer Trio]] page
How come its not showing up on the page? I know how the code works but it just appears as text. Can somebody help me with this?

Edited by nombretomadoopenDid I miss a memo?
I remember back around last year or so, a Just for Fun group of Super Smash Bros. pages was cut for being unadulterated fanfiction at their core. Going through the index now, it looks like some of the work pages (for example, Overwatch and everything under "The Angry Birds Pinball Pack," which is sourced from a fanon wiki which technically makes it fanfiction or an unpublished work) seem to be continuing this formula despite those cuts.
Was there a change to JFF that I was unaware of, or is this a problem that has evaded notice for some time?
Edited by TrocyteVopenAcceptable Targets misuse?
- Acceptable Targets: Everyone and everything on the planet, at one point or another, has been lampooned on the show, even the show itself.
- Out of everyone they've ridiculed, favored butt-monkeys include hippies, Ben Affleck (at least until Argo came out), and Barbra Streisand.
My impression is that this that it's about targets audiences find acceptable. But the entry is about the show finding them assertable which doesn't sound YMMV. ALL the Acceptable Targets entries I've seen are written as the work treating them as assertable, not audiences.
Is it YMMV because fan of the work find it such? That's not how they're written and fans of a work agreeing with the works opinions seems like People Sit on Chairs.
openPolicy on Just For Fun pages?
I got an idea to create a Just for Fun page for Dedede: Comin' At Ya from Kirby: Right Back at Ya! like how we have pages for The Ugly Barnacle and Space Heroes. Is there some kind of permission I have to get or policy to follow or can I just go for it?
openOfficial shortened name for an Anime Anime
Good evening (or night, depending on where you are):
I helped create a long time ago the page for:
I Hate Being In Pain So I Think Ill Make A Full Defense Build
But the official English name as licensed by Funimation is:
"BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense"
Now that it premiered today and it was also licensed, I need help to change the name of the page to the official one, is there a way to change the page to the official one (preferably the official short name: Bofuri) AND to make the change appear in all of the pages, or it will be necessary to change it manually in all the pages? Thanks in advance.
open Esoteric Happy Ending page = complaining?
EsotericHappyEnding.Star Wars was just made, as of now it's only examples from The Rise of Skywalker. It's 6 bullets, which seems too few to warrant it's own page, and I've argued too many for a single ending (they could be condensed to a single bullet). Should we do something about it?
They also created AssPull.Star Wars, but that includes examples from all the franchise so I think it's legit, but worth keeping an eye on.
Edited by Ferot_DreadnaughtopenAll Blue Entry and before trope list spoiler Music
There's an All-Blue Entry and spoiler text line before the trope list on The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.
For the All Blue Entry, I think maybe cut all the potholes except the ones for the works where the characters are from
openMod Revert
Can a mod revert the most recent edit on LightNovel.Shonen Onmyouji? Despite the page literally being littered in warnings and having two ZCE warnings, the most recent editor, Soupyscience7, undid the ZCE markup... a year ago, so IDK if a notifier will do anything of use.
Edited by WarJay77openWrong namespace?
During cleanup, I found Literature. Now Blooms The Tudor Rose. The description seemed a bit rambling and I noticed there's no mention of its author or publication date (the author is actually there on the page; it's just buried). Is Literature/ namespace okay for this sort of text published on forum? Namespace mentions that it's also used for eBooks and Web Serial Novels. I'm not sure the text falls into that category.
openAsHimself or AsHerself?
The trope page for As Himself adds "a.k.a. As Herself" to the page title.
I know that many tropes have an "official" name which uses the male gender, with a female redirect for the obvious reasons. Does that mean that the male version takes precedence?
I'm asking because there's an example on NYPD Blue which originally referred to one woman appearing as herself, and it was accordingly headed "As Herself". But now a second example has been added under the same heading, this time about a man. So there's one male and one female example under the heading "As Herself".
What's wiki policy about this? Should the heading be kept or changed to "As Himself"? None is really better than the other. I'm inclined to leave it as is, but I'm wondering if "As Herself" counts as a redirect and, as such, shouldn't be used unless it's necessary to avoid confusion?
As part of the whole removal of the Disney/ namespace, Disney/TheJungleBook had been moved to WesternAnimation/TheJungleBook1967 (by Nombretomado, methinks).
This led to a slight problem, however, because WesternAnimation/TheJungleBook already existed as a CGI TV series, leading to some misaimed wicks when editor changed the namespace but didn't check the disambiguation.
Now, the latter series has been moved to Animation/TheJungleBook, which is certainly more correct as it's an Indian international coproduction.
However, following this the Disney movie has been moved again to WesternAnimation/TheJungleBook (by editor AHI-3000), despite the fact that it is somewhat contrary to the disambiguation rules (there are still other movie titled "The Jungle Book", and it cause quite the subpages collisions between it, the original book and other adaptation).
So, I'd like to know if this move had been condoned.
