Old Complete Monster cleanup thread

Welcome to the Complete Monster proposal thread! This is the thread where new Complete Monster examples are vetted, approved, and written up. If you're looking for the general cleanup thread (for cuts, rewrites, expansions, and the like), please go here

Important: Before suggesting any new examples, please read the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List; if you have any questions, the odds are high they are answered there. Additionally, please check here for the earliest date a work can be discussed (usually two weeks from the U.S. release date) and whether the work has already been reserved by another user.

Here is how the process works:

    Process

  1. If you have a candidate to propose, you can simply come right in and propose them! If the character's run is brief, such as a single issue of a comic book, then a simple summary of their actions and any potential redeeming qualities will be enough; for longer-running candidates, an effortpost (EP) might be helpful for organizing the proposal. An EP is not outright required, but please be mindful that if a post becomes too clunky and unorganized, it can be very hard for other people to follow.

  2. After the proposal, there will be a 72-hour discussion and voting period, where people may ask questions and vote on the candidate. The number of upvotes must outnumber the downvotes by at least five for the character to be considered "approved".

  3. Three days after the proposal has been made, if the character has been approved, you may post the writeup (the text to be posted on the trope page itself) on the thread and send it to the drafts page. Your candidate will soon be added to the CM subpage. If the work has a page, you should add your candidate to the relevant YMMV page. Voila! It's that simple!

Outside of this process, we do have a few ground rules:

    Ground Rules

  1. To keep the thread moving at a reasonable pace, there are some restrictions on when a proposal can be made. There should only be a maximum of four EPs posted both per page and per hour to ensure that nothing gets lost in the shuffle; additionally, each individual troper should only be proposing or writing up characters from a maximum of three works at a time (from initial proposals to end of their voting period). If your proposal would fall outside of either of these guidelines, we'd like to ask you to please wait until they would fit within; feel free to type them up on an outside document, and then when the time comes, you can just copy, paste, and post!

  2. No plagiarism of any kind. This is a very serious matter site-wide, as the website could get in actual legal trouble over this; as a result, this can very quickly lead to mod intervention. This can take many different forms:
    1. Direct plagiarism, i.e. wholesale copying. This is not only the easiest to find, but is also the most likely to warrant quick moderator intervention. To be clear, quoting in some places is perfectly acceptable, but it has to be very clear you're quoting from something else and it cannot be anything longer than a sentence or two - if you're quoting an entire work summary from Wikipedia, no one is going to believe you've actually consumed the work, so even if you cite your source, your candidate will be downvoted anyway.
    2. Self-plagiarism. Even if you can prove that you wrote the same text in both places, the site itself can't contain any of the duplicated text. If you already wrote something once before, it's not too hard to write it a second time.
    3. Using another site's work as a template for a proposal. Just because you don't copy and paste something directly doesn't mean it's any harder to detect if you're basing parts or all of your proposal on text someone else wrote. To be clear, this doesn't violate site rules and won't lead to mod intervention, but just like if you directly plagiarize, no one will believe you've consumed the work if you're clearly basing your proposal on something else. This thread largely operates on the honor system, and tweaking someone else's work to pass it off as your own is one of the fastest ways to lose trust.

  3. Votes must be for specific candidates, meaning no blanket voting (i.e. "yes to everyone I missed").

  4. If you are the first person to downvote a candidate, please provide an explanation of why when you do so. We're here for discussions above all, and a hit-and-run downvote doesn't facilitate anything.

  5. If a work is already reserved by another user, please don't comment on the work or any potential characters worth discussion before the discussion date. We know how exciting it is when a work has a keeper that you're waiting to talk about, but it's not fair to the person who reserved the work who is just as excited to lead the discussion to see the discussion getting spoiled before they get to do it. On the other hand, if the reservation only has one name attached, shoot them a PM - they may be down for a collaboration, which will get you in on the fun as well!

  6. Please keep the thread on-topic. While discussing the trope is fun and we encourage people to enjoy it, questions like "who's your favorite CM" are off-topic and can lead to thumps. That's the kind of question to take to people's PMs if they're willing. Similarly, while we encourage friendliness and familiarity with other users, posts should always have some kind of thread-relevant purpose; for instance, if you want to wish someone a happy birthday, feel free to, but if it's the only thing in the post, it's off-topic and needs something else alongside it. Again, though, while we strive for a friendly atmosphere, this is not Facebook; life updates are fun, but unless they have some kind of impact on your thread participation, please do not bring it here - we have Yack Fest for that.

  7. Please refrain from asking anything along the lines of "How Did We Miss This One?" In almost every case, the answer is simply "No one thought about it before". This Is a Wiki where everyone has different interests, and the fact that people missed a particular candidate, even one that seems like a textbook example of a trope or a character who is particularly iconic in pop culture, means absolutely nothing. The question is disruptive, has a simple and consistent answer, and provides nothing to any discussion.

  8. If you are suspended from parts of the website, it is still possible to participate!
    1. For users who are suspended from editing the wiki, you still have full access to this thread. You can propose candidates and write them up with no issues whatsoever; while you will have to ask someone else to post the entry to the relevant pages once it is done, all write-ups are considered thread-approved - as in, done by consensus - and thus doing so does not violate any rules regarding meatpuppeting.
    2. If you are suspended from the forums, your participation is limited but not impossible. It is still possible for a forum-suspended user to assist in creating the write-up for a character who has already been approved; as previously mentioned, write-ups are inherently considered a consensus-based edit and thus not tied to any one particular user. However, you can not assist in the proposal of a character; as a proposal is based around the forum rather than the wiki, doing so with a forum suspension qualifies as meatpuppeting.

  9. Please keep all discussions "in-house".
    1. What other wikis use for CM equivalents is irrelevant here.
    2. Please be wary of using other wikis, Fandom or otherwise, as sources of information. They are just as fallible as a site like Wikipedia in regards to accuracy because they can be edited by any user, just as this site can.
    3. Do not attempt to force a communication with an author in an attempt to gather evidence or settle a debate; besides the fact that this is a YMMV trope and thus author intent has variable weight depending on the circumstance, doing so may cross the line into drama exportation, which is prohibited site-wide.

If you would like to use an EP for your candidate, here's the general format. This format does not have to be followed exactly, but these are the main topics that need to be covered:

    Effortpost Template

What is the work?

This is a brief summary of the work you're going to discuss. We don't need a full plot summary here, just however much we need to understand going into the discussion — it can even be as simple as quoting the summary on the work's page.

Who is the candidate and what have they done?

This is essentially the character's biography — who they are, their story, the crimes they commit, and, preferably (though not required), what happens to the candidate at the end. It does not have to include every single thing they ever do — for some villains, we'd be here all day if that was the case — but it should include the highlights of their journey.

Any redeeming qualities? Freudian Excuse?

This is where any potential redeeming characteristics or tragic backstory should be discussed. Do they have a tragic past? Do they show that Even Evil Has Standards or Even Evil Has Loved Ones? Maybe a Pet the Dog moment or two? This is where these should be discussed in full. Not every potential redeeming moment is a clear-cut disqualifier, but we should hear of any potential issues to ensure the character is discussed in full.

Are they bad enough?

A Complete Monster has to be particularly vile by the standard of the work they appear in. Therefore, you should look at what the character does compared to similar characters in the same work. This takes into account things like:

  • Their resource level (a human Serial Killer can't stand up to an alien Omnicidal Maniac, but they can be bad by the standard of other human serial killers)
  • The amount of time they have to work with (such as a one-shot character versus long-running antagonists)
  • The quantity vs. quality of their crimes compared to others (someone with a lower victim count but far more visceral and personal crimes could be considered as equally bad overall as someone with a higher body count but less horror involved)

Essentially, this section is an analysis of the kinds of villainy shown in the work and an explanation of why this particular character's villainy stands out within it.

Final verdict?

This is where you post your final conclusion on the character in question. You can continue elaborating on your reasons or even just say a simple "yes" or "no"; at this point, we've heard everything we need to hear.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This thread tackles very serious and dark matters on a daily basis. We will be discussing things like murder, rape, torture, human trafficking, crimes against children, and in particularly dark cases, several of these issues at the same time. We keep a lighthearted air, but all candidates carry the general assumption that these are awful individuals committing disgusting crimes. We ask that if you participate, you do so with the requisite seriousness such dark topics require; exclamations of how gross something is, whether serious or sarcastic, are disrespectful to the topics at hand, and if you cannot handle such topics, please do not participate.

And that's everything you need to know. Welcome to the thread!

Okay so here's my Complete Monster proposal:

What is the work?

Taxi Driver (2021) is a South Korean Black Comedy Thriller series which focuses on the main character Kim Do-Ki, who after losing his mother to murder, ends up joining the Vigilante group known as the Rainbow cab company where they take revenge on behalf of the clients against the corrupt sources who wronged them.

Who is the villain and what all crimes he did?

The main villain introduced in Season 2 is called Park Min Geon aka The Bishop. He is basically The Fundamentalist Incel who is the leader of the crime organisation known as Geumsa. It's an organisation in which it owns many businesses that thrives in many crimes such as human and child trafficking, drug racket, rape, murder and many more, the main businesses part of it were the Vietnam Trafficking Group which involved scamming people into working for an IT company in Vietnam only to be kidnapped and used as a slave, Feel Consulting, a real estate company which involved making children from orphanage as slaves for their brand and finally the Black Sun nightclub (based on the real life Burning Sun scandal in South Korea) which ran on forced prostitution of minors and drugging them with GHB for their clients.

He even owned an orphanage in which he had numerous children kidnapped and gaslit them into thinking they were orphans and were abandoned. Even worse he killed half of them because they didn't fit his standards of strength. Most particularly he took in a boy named Kim Dan Woo and manipulated him into becoming his protege named On Ha Joon (it was originally the name of the boy Dan Woo killed before he himself got the name from the Bishop.

In Season 2, he found out about the Rainbow crew and Kim Do-Ki and developed an unhealthy obsession with eliminating them so that he could create a world where everyone can get away with doing bad things and never suffer consequences for it and justice wouldn't exist anymore.

What makes him heinous?

I don't know how much should I add here because most parts about the Geumsa arc kind of triggered me a bit because of anxiety. But what I can tell is that The Bishop is basically a sociopathic petty incel who ran the organisation not because of money and wealth, but it's only because he simply wanted to cause chaos and destruction of the world for his own satisfaction and sick kicks and used religion as an excuse for him crimes, direct or indirect. He basically orchestrated murders of kids, rape and almost every heinous crimes his organisation was known for. He even manipulated Dan Woo and turned him into a killing machine known as On Ha Joon and made him commit one of his first murders, which was of his own father who was looking for him. He killed half of the children in the orphanage because he saw them as "weak".

Even worse it's implied that the Bishop seemed to have a decades long obsession with Kim Do-Ki and wanting to kill him and the Rainbow crew. It wasn't because of them ruining his businesses and trying to expose him because he didn't care about that, it's more because the Bishop was jealous and envious of Do-Ki and everything he achieved (beauty, wealth and youth) which he himself didn't in the past and all because Do-Ki didn't fit his standards because of Do-Ki's more rebellious, feminine and sexual nature, which made the Bishop become obsessed with and get repulsed by him.

Which is why he was more excited about ruining Do-Ki and his crew out of sheer jealousy and pettiness, much like Waltz!Blofeld from the Daniel Craig era James Bond series and took amusement and joy in making Do-Ki miserable by using his mom's murder and his trauma against him (this was one of the possible hints that the Bishop has been after Do-Ki even before the series began and Ha Joon didn't even mention that context to him) and forcing him to hear his teammates get executed next to him as he himself dies just to spite him.

All of this is why it was such a blessing that Dan Woo finally killed him at the end.

The Bishop had no reason to do all this. He was just a petty incel sadistic sociopath who wanted to cause chaos and destruction for his own amusement.

Hello, I'm a new user, and this is my first proposal. It's from a Fan Work and, honestly, this character is somehow worse than her canon counterpart. Also, I'm going to assume you know the plot of Kill La Kill, so spoilers for the work and the canon series. And, uh, Trigger warning, due the character being discussed and what she... does.

What's the work?

Kill La Kill: Natural Selection is a Kill La Kill Alternate Universe Fic by LordGinger. The story is based around the premise of "mother of the year" Ragyo Kiryuin not throwing her infant daughter Ryuko into a garbage chute after forcibly fusing her with parasitic aliens. As a result, Ryuko and Satsuki are raised together as siblings, so things should be better for them. Right?...

Who is She? What has she done?

Ragyo Kiryuin is the tyrannical matriarch of the Kiryuin family, CEO of the REVOCS corporation, and herald of the parasitic Life Fibers. Just like in canon, she marries her husband Soichiro Matoi purely for his skills in science, overseeing their experiments on Life Fibers, with their two daughters Satsuki and Ryuko as test subjects. When Soichiro desperately attempts to revive a seemingly dead infant Ryuko, all Ragyo does is stare on apathetically, and feign relief when Ryuko starts breathing again. Due to Ryuko being a part of the Kiryuin family now, she gets bonded to Junketsu instead of Satsuki.

At some point afterwards, Ragyo and Soichiro create another "daughter", an artificial human-life fiber hybrid named Nui Harime. Ragyo would then manipulate Ryuko and Nui into worshipping the Life Fibers like her in some twisted religion, regarding the Primordial Life Fiber as a god, and seeing the rest of humanity as beneath them. Satsuki doesn't fall for this thanks to Soichiro. Due to Satsuki being the only human of their children, Ragyo treats her as The Unfavorite, shunning her in favor of Satsuki's younger siblings, who were more vulnerable to Ragyo's influence.

Ragyo was particularly interested in keeping Ryuko under her thumb, which became more apparent after Soichiro faked his death during an assassination attempt ordered by Ragyo. Whenever Ryuko saw something Ragyo didn't want her to see, such as striking Satsuki, Nui attempting to kill Satsuki over a rumored betrayal, or Ragyo's plans for the Life Fibers (more on that in the next section) Ragyo would use her mind stitching to brainwash and Mind Rape Ryuko, forcing her to forget the incidents. The process is also described as being increbily painful.

Then there are the... infamous "purification" rituals, which are even worse here because... uh... Ragyo now... rapes and molests all three daughters, sometimes ordering Ryuko and Nui to... violate Satsuki. This started when they were around 7, maybe younger.

Anyways, time skip. Satsuki fakes her death to get away from and prepare to rebel against Ragyo, and Ryuko is torn up over this. To solve the issue, Mom of the Year decides to use particularly brutal Mind Stitching that completely shatters Ryuko's mind, basically leaving her in a vegetative state. Junketsu tries to fix Ryuko's mind, but ends up botching it, leaving Ryuko with mostly her negative personality traits, creating the vicious tyrant she becomes at the start of the story (yes, all this is backstory).

As for the latest point where the story ended off, due to being unfinished, Nui has betrayed the heroes, giving the rending scissors to Ragyo, and she continue her plan to assimilate the planet with Life Fibers.

Redeeming qualities?

None. Ragyo is a just a psychopathic abuser who turned 2 of her daughters into violent psychos and desires to crush humanity under her heel. Whatever "love" she shows her kids is to manipulate them and keep them under her control. The closest thing her canon self had to a redeeming quality was her devotion to the Life Fibers, which isn't redeeming in the canon, btw, yet this version doesn't even have that. When Junketsu has his memories restored, it's revealed that Ragyo plans to betray the Life Fibers as they assimilate the Earth with their Celestial Coccoon, and lord over everything as a goddess. This utterly disgusts Junketsu, a being of Life Fibers, btw. The only other mitigating factor is that Ragyo only appears in person near the latter part of the story, but due to the frequent flashbacks, we get a very good look at her personality, and how she molded her kids into how they are in the present day. While the story has some comedic moments, particularly with Nui, Ragyo is taken 100% seriously, with the effects of her abuse being treated as seriously as it should be. To put it simply, Ragyo is portrayed by the narrative as an utterly revolting individual who is responsible for everything wrong in the story.

Is she bad enough?

This fic is a tad darker than the canon series, with more horrific crimes displayed as well. Ryuko Kiryuin, while she was the brainwashed tyrant of Hounnoji, commits crimes such as burning down the Hounnoji slums and gleefully slaughtering students during the Natural Selections. Nui Harime, while more sympathetic than in canon due to the effects of Ragyo's abuse, is still a sociopathic assassin who is introduced sadistically toturing an official of a company that REVOCS is "buying". When Nui takes over Hounnoji to invade Osaka and save Ryuko, she weaves special Life Fibers into the Goku Uniforms of the students, forcing them to keep getting up and fight, no matter the injuries they sustain, even if they're visibly crying from the pain, and tortures a captured Gamagori, brainwashing him into a mindless brute. Gamagori's left in a coma when Satsuki frees him. Both Ryuko and Nui are like this because of Ragyo's parenting. If it wasn't for Ragyo, they wouldn't have been like this in the first place, and they both report to Ragyo, so she's ultimately responsible for all of their crimes. Even then, Ragyo still stands out with her familial abuse, her plan to put the entire planet in a Fate Worse than Death, and especially her sexual abuse towards her kids. Both Nonon and Soichiro lashed out in rage when learning about Ragyo's "purification rituals".

Verdict

Yes

The fic's currently dormant, and I'm hoping the author completes it at some point (it's a pretty entertaining read in my opinion), but even then, I think there's enough info on Ragyo and her crimes to be confident in her qualifying. She's generally the same as her canon counterpart, with most of the same crimes, and some even worse crimes.

Alright. Let's get interesting.

What’s the Work?

Danger Zone One is a webcomic I've covered before a few times on here. And while the main series doesn't have any other contenders yet (thanks to being in the middle of a story arc that's been ongoing since 2021), there is a potential from one of the spin-offs...

Pallad City Stories is a canon anthology series focusing on other named characters. As it's a Patreon exclusive, the series is 18+, so it focuses on some really hardcore shit like graphic sex scenes, gore, and darker storylines. Though before anybody asks, there's still a plot to all of this stuff, and it's not any more graphic than some of the anime and manga we have up on CM.

We'll be focusing on the one-shot "Shot in the Dark", which follows cybernetic assassin Kijo Kage on her latest assignment. After a woman is kidnapped and accidentally killed by a cruel gangster, Kijo is hired by the woman's father to get even with the gangster, by any means necessary. But before Kijo could deliver her payback, she gives us some backstory on her target. And let's just say, he deserves everything he's gonna get.

Who is He?

Johnny Edge, "the most depraved man in Pallad City", is a hedonistic gangster who resides in his heavily guarded penthouse.

What has he done?

Once a struggling street thug, Edge garnered money and fame after joining the Black Lotus Syndicate, growing into one of the top suppliers of Euphoria, "a pleasure drug so addictive, just a taste can turn most users into hardline addicts for life."

But Edge decided to use his newfound wealth for his own pleasures. Luring women to his tower, Edge forces them to be his sex slaves by giving them Euphoria to satisfy his sadistic depravity, not even caring when one accidentally dies from Euphoria overdose. Many women reside in Edge’s penthouse, either used for brutal BDSM foreplay, or frequent orgies, all too drugged up to fight or talk back.

However, Edge has a more twisted side hobby. Edge loves collecting body parts of not just the women he lures to his tower, but his own bodyguards as well, whom he frequently murders out of paranoia. Edge keeps several limbs as trophies on display, even bragging about them to his latest guard.

Thankfully, Kijo murders Edge during an orgy by firing an arrow from several miles away that causes Edge’s head to explode like a watermelon, with the city’s police department on the way to rescue the remaining slaves. Another job well done for Kijo.

Redeeming Qualities?

Zilch. Edge is as bad as they come, with some claiming that he was born without a heart.

Heinousness?

For a one-off fuck all gangster, Edge is as bad as could be, a sadist described as one of the worst men in Pallad City. Coercing women into being his sex slaves by giving them drugs is bad enough, but keeping body parts as trophies is a nasty niche. As mentioned earlier, this story is canon to the main comic, and I think Edge passes compared to the likes of Alacore, Bliss, and Vargo.

Conclusion

Simple, yet easy, keep

Here's another candidate from a Fan Work of an anime I like. This one is actually completed.

    open/close all folders

     What's The Work?

Scar Tissue is a Neon Genesis Evangelion Dark Fic by DeathBringer374. The concept revolves around a Post-Third Impact Scenario where Asuka, traumatized by her previous experiences begins abusing and torturing Shinji until she accidentally hospitalizes him. Afterwards she attempts to make up for her mistakes and repair her relationship with Shinji. However, we're focusing on the B-plot of the story, where returning NERV leaders Gendo Ikari, Ritsuko Akagi, and Misato Katsuragi work to stop SEELE, which has returned from Instrumentality, though with Keel Lorenz still in the Red Sea, the council is under new leadership...

Who is he? What has he done?

Yuri Kalashnikov is SEELE 02, and the organization's Russian representative and current leader in Keel Lorenz's absence. Like all the other members of SEELE, Yuri plotted with them to trigger Third Impact so they could ascend to godhood, and ordered the JSSDF to massacre everyone at NERV to stop Gendo Ikari from controlling Instrumentality. After Shinji reversed Instrumentality, all the members (sans Keel) return, angered that their godhood was stripped from them. We're properly introduced to SEELE as they rant about how they're gonna torture Shinji and make him watch as they kill everyone he cares about like the petulant manchildren they are. Keep in mind Shinji is a 15-year-old child. One of them then suggests using their secret project in Russia, Child Zero and Samael, to kill the remaining pilots, which Yuri reluctantly agrees to. Here's why.

Child Zero is Dmitri, Yuri's son born from an affair. One day, Yuri decided to remove all evidence of his infidelity and experment on a Lilith-like Angel found in Russia. So he sends a Death Squad to go to Dmitri's village, and kill everyone there except Dmitri and his little brother Vasiliy, who were to be brought alive. Dmitri remembers that they raped and murdered his mother right in front of them. They were 5 and 2 respectively at that time, btw.

So Yuri, being the great dad he is, subjects his sons to horrific experiments, turning Dmitri into the Ax-Crazy Blood Knight he is in the story, and killing Vasiliy. Dmitri is then offered a deal by Kaji and the CIA to turn on SEELE, which he obviously accepts, though he's still going to try to kill Asuka and Shinji cause he wants to. So the Final Battle happens, Asuka and Shinji defeat Dmitri, but Yuri isn't done yet, as now he decides to nuke Tokyo 03 with a missile, which, and I quote,

codemned Tokyo 02 and Tokyo 03, hundreds of thousands of soldiers, and his own troops to a fiery inferno of death.
, end quote. He's also hoping Dmitri and Samael are killed in the blast, as, if he can't be a god, then he'll just kill those that can be god. Thankfully, Asuka and Shinji, with help from Dmitri, stop the missile and Yuri is captured by Kaji, who comments on how easily his men turned on him.

Eventually, Dmitri meets his father one last time, where Samael totures the man to death as Yuri begs for mercy. Good riddance

     Redeeming Qualities?

PFFFFT-No. He's an Entitled Bastard who thinks he should be entitled to ultimate power. There's nothing humanizing about him. He rants to Dmitri about how he lost the chance to bring back his mother and brother, when Yuri was the one to kill them in the first place. He also had a legitimate family but the story says he "forfeited them", and his various affairs show that he really doesn't care about them. Not to mention, he makes Gendo and Yui Ikari look like parent of the year material in comparison, with what he did to Dmitri and Vasiliy. And his relationship with the other SEELE members is strictly professional, as he shows no care for them when they are picked off by Dmitri and Kaji.

     Heinous Standard

This should be simple, considering that he's the Fic's Big Bad. Even comparing him to the canon crimes like the Attack on NERV ordered by Keel, Yuri's cruel experiments on his sons, resulting in the younger one dying, and his attempt to nuke Japan to deprive them of victory and kill hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of people, including civillians and his own soldiers, is enough to stand out. Most of the conflicts in Dmitri's story are caused by his abysmal excuse of a dad, and he's the main driving force of the story's second act.

     Verdict

Yes for me, but it's up to you

Probably fine but I'm just gonna abstain there.

Edit: Actually allow me to expand on my concerns here. I know the original media quite well, it's my favourite anime and it's probably one of the most difficult settings to offset possible well intentioned extremism with how bad the villains get. I see the EP posits Yuri to have a god complex and be motivated by becoming one but in Eva being god means to direct Instrumentality and Keel himself is kept off for possibly thinking humanity truly is better off for being remerged as one being. The video game version counts because it explicitly has him instead which to become an omnipotent being while the rest of humanity it left to struggle in an unending whirlpool of nightmare. He's still an absolute monster in the original work and to compare with the above he has the helpless Asuka torn apart by the MPEs—something EoE's companion pamphlet explicitly refers to as a "violation'—has NERV wiped out to the man for Gendo and Fuyutsuki refusing to see his goal through and forces all of humanity to comply with his vision to be merged into one being. I'm seeing Yuri is awful here but I'd like to first hear that becoming a god is said, beyond a doubt, to mean something different than it does in the source because if it's not the case, even if he's a Sore Loser, vile scumbag, etc. I struggle to see him as this trope, as Keel gets terrible too when denied his prize but it's still not enough to get away from potential mitigating issues.
