Roleplay Namespace Cleanup and Maintenance

Not yet as far as I'm aware.

If it's an upcoming work with no release date, shouldn't it be outright cut according to policy?

The Darth Wiki page says nothing has come out of it since 2011, so that sounds right.

Edit: Oh, it looks like it has been cutlisted (though the cut reason accidentally gave the gave the namespace as Useful Notes instead of Darth Wiki). It's just further down the list, so I didn't notice it until I tried to cutlist it myself.

Yeah, I was the one who made that ATT query, and after giving it time, I was also the one who moved it to DarthWiki and cutlisted the original page yesterday (along with all the Spectacular Gargoyles pages). I didn't post about it in this thread since it's focused on roleplays, and that page was for a tabletop ruleset-to-be, and thus irrelevant.

The namespace error in the cut reason happened because I was also moving the related page, D20 System, to Useful Notes namespace at about the same time.

OK, good! Though, this is why I always provide links to the new namespace in the cut reason to avoid confusion, even if I mess it up sometimes.

Wikizilla Roleplay: I don't know where this is hosted and the wiki found while Googling doesn't appear to have an easily accessible archive/log/publication.

• Roleplay.We Stand In Awe: Abandoned Bleach roleplay. I am reminded by the ZCE administrivia page rewrite. Nearly every example just says "this happens". YMMV cut listed.
• Roleplay.What Happened In Edmonton: Sequel-ish roleplay to the one below after it was abandoned. It has a long character page that needed fixing.
• Roleplay.What Happened In Oregon: YMMV items moved to subpage. Here we have a "trope" called Resurrection Tropes and a bunch listed underneath. Cut listed character pages for being too sparse.
• Roleplay.What Time Is It Mr Wolf: The page has the same bold names that the forum thread uses.
• RolePlay.When Planets Burn: The first page where the tropes weren't alphabetized. It's also in a miscapitalised namespace (Role Play), so perhaps we'll do something about that later.
• Roleplay.When The Tropers Cry: Cut listed redirect.
• Roleplay.When Universes Collide: I forgot if we determined if Discord was a "digestible format", but whatever. It's active, and there's an invitation link on the page that I haven't clicked. The character sheet isn't indexed.
• Roleplay.When Walls Crumble: There was no roleplay link provided, but it was easy enough to Google up. The character sheet isn't indexed.
• Roleplay.Who Are You People What Is This: Cut listed for unverifiable content and a page that is full of zero-context examples.
• Roleplay.Wildcard: Don't be fooled by the "subpages". They're for the Wild Card trope and a comic book work page.
• Roleplay.Wild Pokemon In The Big City: Nothing of note.

Should we document pages moved to other namespaces that were mistakenly in the RP namespace?

Why not?

My computer's back \o/ To celebrate I double-checked the sandbox pages and cleaned up any loose ends.

• BotR2: Found the link for this. Most of the rules listed on the page seem unnecessary, so I removed all but the information on the setting (since that actually pertains to the story).
• BZPRPG: Cleaned up the main and character pages. Has a lot of ZCE's.
• Witch Quest: Finished up the clean-up for the main and character pages that Tabs started.
• Wizards Vs Muggles: Same as above.
• Ye Gods: I think this got overlooked by accident while going through the 'Y' roleplays. Had to deal with curly braces, but aside from that the page is decent. Had a YMMV page I sent to the cutlist for only having a non-YMMV trope.

I should be getting to the last of the 'A' roleplays pretty soon.

I don't think we ever made an official ruling, though some Discord-exclusive RP's have been sent to the Darth Wiki. On one hand, it's a VoiP service and you need a Discord account at the very least to access a server. On the other hand, Discord is generally presented as more accessible than others of its kind (see: content creators promoting their official Discords where they probably wouldn't have done the same for their Skypes). So I could see an argument either way for it being accessible enough to be considered publicly consumable or not.

Every time you all change your avatars, I assume we've got a new user and have to adjust.

With Discord, if the server (and invitation link) is open and being advertised, that's public... enough. But I would prefer if they have a channel with summaries and stuff. We can talk about that later.

Glad your computer is back! I'm still waiting on mine... But once it's back I've got a list of things to work on, including a new section of roleplays now that the B's are done.

I've shed my feathers and revealed my true form of a pretty boy.

So if there's a Discord-exclusive roleplay, and either a link is available on the page or can be found with a search, then we should treat it as available (at least until we come to a more definitive consensus)?

I lost all my data, which is a huge pain, but it's nice to get back on the keyboard at least.

• Archipelago Exodus: Holding off on this one until I get ATT consensus on how to handle the bookmarks on the Character pages.
• Arimnaes' Happy Fun Time Power Hour and its successor The Shadow of Greed: Abandoned D&D/Completed Spirit of the Century tabletop roleplays with the same group of players. I got in touch with some of the players for these two. The RP's themselves aren't available, but they have been archived in the form of an in-character log and list of summaries respectively. I've tidied up the pages and linked to the information. Arimnaes has no subpages, Shadow Of Greed has Awesome, Funny, WMG, and YMMV.
• A Shock to the System (Roleplay): Abandoned quest roleplay, and the first we've come across to happen on tvt. Page needed minor cleaning. Has YMMV page with one entry.
• Ashworld: This is a weird one. It's a group of people over on Bay 12 collaborating on world-building, with a couple of them writing short stories in the verse. It was originally in the WebOriginal/ namespace before being migrated. Short page, no subpages, only needed indexing.
• A Slice of Life: Abandoned tvt roleplay. Some ZCE's and a sparse character page that has been moved over and cut. The page is in conflict with Fanfic.A Slice Of Life; Heartwarming.A Slice Of Life is for the latter.
• A Slime Quest: Abandoned quest roleplay. Minor clean-up and indexing. No subpages.
• ASM Cores: Abandoned deviantart roleplay. Had to go hunting around for a link. Has some ZCE's, and the YMMV page has been sent to cutlist for being a stub. Character page was blanked about six years back for no reason that I can tell, so I restored it.
• ASOIAFNG: A Song of Ice And Fire roleplay. Hosted on alternatehistory.com, and I've confirmed that it's not available at all without signing up. No-one who's edited the page has been around in years. Will probably be moved to Unpublished.

Laptop is back, but I have to work today, so I'll check out some more pages tonight. I call the C's!

• Welcome to Beacon: Ultimate

A trio of related roleplays hosted on the TV Tropes forum. These took... er, wow, three hours to clean.

The work pages are relatively short.

The original Beacon has short enough character pages that they can be condensed into one page, which I did. However, Ultimate has 10 character pages, plus an 11th called Leitmotifs that's going to be cut. Next has seven, plus another Leitmotifs. I believe both can all be condensed into a single character page as well, since there are many, many empty folders and folders only containing zero-context examples. Some had so many of those folders that I resorted to a macro to add those double %s. What a time saver!

Every character's folder was separated into a trope list for the character and a trope list for their weapon. These detailed weapon descriptions and trope lists reeked of Gun Porn, and according to ATT, weapons in RWBY are not characters, so the double trope lists were merged and the weapon descriptions deleted.

The recap pages (especially the original and Ultimate) have a skjrillion links to individual posts in the forum. Looks like they all work. This is the first time I've seen such a use for the Recap/ namespace, but it does seem to provide some "digestible" reading that we've been discussing.

The "NOTE: Please only add ideas that were approved by the GM" notice on top of the character and recap pages looks like a violation of The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours, but at this point, I'm so exhausted that I'm gonna kick that can down the road.

I remember the Welcome To Beacon RP's being all the rage a couple of years ago. I think they've died off now, though.

• AsteroidQuest: Original quest roleplay, seems to have been abandoned as of April. Page is well-done, only required minor clean-up. Has Awesome, Funny, WMG, and YMMV subpages.
• Asuka Quest: Completed NGE quest roleplay. Was in the Fanfic/ namespace with a Roleplay/ redirect, but given that it doesn't seem any different from the standard quest, I switched them around. Apart from that, only needed minor clean-up. Has YMMV subpage.
• Astral Cabal: And here's the daily dose of Danganronpa. Page had some ZCE problems, but otherwise is pretty decent. Has multiple characters pages, two of which are stubs which I've sent to the cutlist after moving tropes over. I've cleaned one of the remaining character pages, and will do the other two tomorrow. Has all the Moments, Trivia, YMMV, and Memes subpages.

• Cabaret Desespoir: You'll never guess what franchise this RP is based on! As usual, needed some cleanup, and moved good examples over from the character's page. (Edit: Taking a closer look and I can't seem to find any actual Tumblr content).
• Caligula Clown Circus, also known as The Caligula Effect Placebo: Discord-based RP that requires an invitation. Main page needed basic cleanup, but it has four character pages. Those pages are...much better than normal, I have to say, but basic cleanup is still needed. The page's last editor is still around, so I'll ping them to see if there's any accessible content for us, or if they can add context to any ZCEs. (~Exusia)
• Calling On The Nameless God: I wish this page was better, because that title is rad. It's a strangely formatted, strangely written, stub page that isn't even index. Cutlisting.
• Call To Order: Ooh, the ZCEs... Also, Danganronpa. Cleaned page, moved good tropes from character page, as usual.
• Camp Fuck You Die: Needs cleanup, but otherwise fine. YMMV page had a trope that seems to be an in-universe example, so cutting the page and moving said example.
• Campus Life: This is a big boi. Main page cleaned, could use help tackling the character page.

"Daily dose of Daganronpa" is really catchy.

Turns out I can merge the Welcome to Beacon Ultimate and Next on their main character pages without the pages getting the "too long" warning, so I've done so and cut the subpages.

That works.

Here's my second batch for the night:

• Cape and Cowl: Needed ZCE cleanup. Character's page is a stub, so cut. (Dunno if it was a page for the RP or the fanfic of the same name, but either way...)
• Capto Iugulum: Needed to go link finding and the page needed minor cleanup, but it's fine otherwise.
• Cardboard Chronicles: Already looked at. Skipping!
• Cardians: A roleplay with multiple "divisions", and those pages have their own divisions. Requires a team-effort on this one. There's a lot of pages to go through, with character pages. Skipping to the next non-Carian RP page... (Edit: I see it on the sandbox already, cool cool!)
• Carista: Stub page with stub subpages. Cutlisting.
• Carnival Mirror: Lotsa ZCEs. Everything is, for some reason, namespaced to main. As in, the tropes are written like Main/HighSchool, so yeah, I got rid of that nonsense. No link to RP and google-fu is failing me. There were also unnecessary folders. Character's page is also bad; good tropes moved, as usual.
• Carnival Of Rust: Has a non-description with no link, and since I don't know what kind of RP this even is, finding it'll be hard. Well...that'd matter if there were 3 non-ZCE tropes on the page, which there aren't. Easy cut.
• Carriero: There's a link, but since the RP has ended, the actual content seems to be lost. Needed cleanup, anyway. Had to create a YMMV page due to YMMV tropes on the actual page.
• Cartesio: Lot's of spoiler markup that I feel like just removing outright, but I'll keep it for now. Tropes moved from character page.
• Castlevania Call Of Darkness: Can't find RP link, but found link to a discussion thread. Needed cleanup, moved tropes from character's page, and added it to an index.
• Castle Verse: I counted; only two non-ZCE tropes. Cutlisting.
• Castus Hollow: Unlinked Discord-RP. Moved stuff from character's page. Character's page has a tumblr link, but I can't view it without an account.
• Cauldron Quest: Again, only two non-ZCE tropes, another easy cut...if it weren't only made a few months ago. Pinging the creator ~Anon Fangeek Girl to come help.

...And I think that's more than enough for one night.

  Oh, it's much stupider than that. Ever since the NSFW crackdown some blogs have been marked with 'adult content' and are thus completely inaccessible (even to 18+ users) unless you have an account and get a specific Chrome extension to work around it. I've confirmed that there's tropable content on the blog, but it's locked behind that set-up through no fault of its own, which sucks. The kicker is that I don't even see any adult content on this blog; a couple of brief PG-13 horror descriptions at the very worst.
  
  I don't like the idea of a roleplay being inaccessible just because of Tumblr's screw-ups, and there wasn't a ton of it, so I moved it all over to a Google Doc. I'll link that on the page.

I'll go through and add links, and clean up the character pages that need it.

You may want to change the doc accessibility, there should be a way to just have a link that lets anyone on the doc, invited or not.

Otherwise, updated the sandboxes.

Ack, totally forgot about that step. Should be fixed now.

I've added all the necessary links and cleaned up Campus Life's character page. In the middle of one of Astral Cabal's considerably lengthy character pages, but it's also the last one.

Nice.

I'm working on another big post, but because I have to go to work, It'll be several hours before that post is done :P
