Roleplay / A Slime Quest

You are a Slime. That much you knew. At least not until now. You couldn't really remember. Not that you could. You're a slime after all. There's a village in front of you. What do you do?

A Slime Quest is a Sufficient quest written by AnonymousRabbit, detailing the adventures of a pink Slime who calls themselves Poi. Poi is a kind, energetic, and food obsessed Slime monster, who takes joy interacting with the humans, spirits, monsters, and what-have-yous as they go along trying to eat and befriend everything in sight.

The quest started in 2015 and eventually petered out in 2017.

A Slime Quest contains examples of:

  • All-Loving Hero: Poi is a friendly Slime, and often tries to make friends whenever they can.
  • Ambiguous Gender: When asked, Poi gets into an existence crisis when they realize they don't know what gender they consider themselves. No one else seems to know either, referring to Poi in gender neutral terms.
  • Anger Bornof Worry: Lucy immediately beats up her fiance, Nabram, in her first appearance after finding out he went after a Dire Wolf alone and almost died.
  • Badass Adorable: As the Dire Alpha shows, Poi can be very dangerous when they want to be.
  • Cerebus Syndrome: It starts off as a slime who wishes to eat and have fun, then things start getting dark.
  • Constantly Curious: Poi is only a few days old and as such asks constant questions about the world around them.

  • Elemental Embodiment: Lucy is a really powerful Water Spirit.
  • Odd Friendship: Poi — a friendly Slime monster — is close friends with Angelica — a Necromancer. The friendship between the centuries old Lich and the Japanese High School Girl from another dimension also comes to mind.
  • Power Copying: Poi can copy the powers of anything they eat.
  • Power Trio: Poi, Nabram, and Miss Milky make a surprisingly effective one when they fight against Lucy.

  • Reality Warper: Shizue Ayumi, the high school girl who was transported here from Japan after her death, came from a world that had no magic whatsoever. As a result, her mere presence warps reality around her, causing reality to fall apart from the seems. Poi at one point indicated that with her abilities, she could have become a God.
  • Really Was Born Yesterday: Poi comes into existence at the moment the quest begins. At the most current part of the story, they are still only about a week old.
  • Shout-Out: Loads, ranging from Kantai Collection to Metal Gear. Poi is a blatant reference to Yuudachi's verbal tic.
