MOD NOTE: TROPES BLANKET-BANNED FROM HAVING VIDEO EXAMPLES:
- Attempted Rape
- Bound and Gagged
- Epileptic Flashing Lights
- Jump Scare
- Nocturnal Emission
- Pooping Where You Shouldn't
- Potty Failure
- Sensory Abuse
- Screamer Prank
It's been discussed a lot at the Video Uploading thread that a lot of poor videos are slipping through the cracks, and that a clean-up effort is necessary if we are to combat the problem.
Common issues are:
- Videos spoiling major events from a work
- Videos not actually fitting the trope they're attached to
- Videos in which the important part doesn't happen until halfway through, with the length being ultimately pointless
- Videos that use the entire work, breaking copyright; this can be done either with one video showcasing an entire short video, or multiple videos that add up to using the entire work in piecemeal.
- Videos lacking the proper media source, or any media source at all.
- General quality problems, like audio issues or artifacting.
So, we've got our work cut out for us; but this is at least a place to discuss problems and come to solutions.

I can take down the video if that helps.
No, it's fine. War Jay explained well enough why it works. There's no need to take it down.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.A question here. Are we allowed to use fanmade YouTube animatics for videos from a musical?
I see the video "Room Where It Happened" on the trope Realpolitik uses the song from Hamilton but the video uses an animatic from a from a fan
Is this allowed? Or should the video be replaced with an actual clip from the show/2020 film instead?

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectCurrent video example for Brawn Hilda seems incorrect. It's missing a huge aspect of the trope in that Brawn Hilda supposed to be portrayed as unattractive.
Can a mod add tags for What Have You Done for Me Lately? and What the Romans Have Done for Us to the Monty Python's Life of Brian video for Rhetorical Question Blunder? You could add the following sentence to the description:
The People's Front of Judea despise Roman occupation, but even they concede that at least they are competent administrators who have brought with them many improvements to civil infrastructure and general quality of life.
I could do that myself seeing as it's my video.
I've noticed the videos for Sarcasm Mode all just seem to be someone being snarky, rather than a specific way of marking the text as being sarcastic. I think all of these are misuse?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYeah, that just sounds like the videos fit Deadpan Snarker better, except the second Simpsons one.

Any other opinions before I move those videos?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness"Seriously?" (Doctor Who, Crop Circles) has a watermark.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. The video example "Rubber Duckie" over at Baths Are Fun called the song "infamous", which looks a bit bashy, in the video description. Should we change it to "well-known"?
It's fine otherwise.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportYeah, it's not quite to the levels of being infamous.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.A few months ago, I asked for the Broken Base secondary trope to be removed from an MLP Analysis video because it didn't actually depict that trope. However, I've since realised the BB misuse isn't my only issue with it. Have a look at the video's description:
- In MisAnthroPony's review of A New Generation he sums up why exactly the story itself is terrible: because it invalidates Twilight Sparkle's journey and sacrifices that she made during the nine seasons of the original show, and pisses off the fans of Friendship Is Magic that have followed the show for the last decade.
I'm assuming video descriptions are subject to the same policies that forbid complaining as text examples? If so, I think the entire video should be cut. It reeks of vitriol, and the part about the FiM fans makes the whole thing seem like an attempt to further an agenda against A New Generation.
"As long as I have my comrades with me, I can do anything!" (She/Her) (Current Focus: Cleaning Hell Is That Noise misuse)There's a video example on Attempted Rape despite being on the No Video Examples, Please! list.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!x 12 (I think) ~AudioSpeaks2 there's fan animatics from Six: The Musical on Theme Tune Roll Call and Curse Cut Short as well, it raises the question though as the fan animatic side is probably an entire work I have to wonder if that's a bit iffy?
Theme Tune Role Call might not be a whole work but Curse Cut Short might be. Either way I'd recommend getting credit for them. When I needed an example for In the Heights I just snagged an online video of a local production.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe."We're Too Late" for The End of the World as We Know It uses poor, blurry quality, and is done in a cropped widescreen format.
Done.

"I just need one of you to come here to give your life to the sun god. It will be for the monkey city's glory."Only think I can think of is that the uploader thinks that having to listen to Will Smith rapping is a Cruel and Unusual Death. Which is not clear from the video.
"The Most Ridiculous Power" from video examples from The Reveal looks incredibly low quality.
And the two Wham Line video examples "Guitar Fight" and "Sora gives up" are misused or ZCE with the second video does not even have the description.

“What is that? It's The Unknown!”I think the Raised Hand of Survival video example from The Dragon Prince should have the new trope Big Damn Hug listed in it as a secondory trope given the emotional weight of the scene.

"Should You Die in the Tutorial" (Spider-Man 2, Developer's Foresight) has a Fraps watermark.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Removing.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Hey, I uploaded this 6-second video some days ago, and upon rewatching it, I realized I uploaded the wrong video. I feel like an idiot, so I uploaded the one I intended to.
I would ask for the removal of the linked one.
