Hardest video game boss to you?

Heavy Press. It takes forever to kill, and it has an endless supply of minions that the fight would be easy without, there's no checkpoint before it meaning if you die you have to play the hard level before it again, and worst of all, there's another boss after it, and no checkpoints for him, so if he kills you, you have to fight Heavy Press again.

What would you do if your favorite villain genuinely asked for your autograph?

From both the pre-established hero/villain characters I like and from what I learned from my own attempts at making my own characters, there's a few things that I particularly value or found important. Now then, a character doesn't necessarily have to have all of the following in order to be a good character, at the end of the day all that matters is that they're at least engaging enough of a character that the audience actually cares about them.

One thing is backstory. It's up to you whether you want to give them backstory or not, if the whole "Mysterious Past" thing works for them then by all means go ahead and skip giving them a real backstory. For example, they can be too humble to bother mentioning their histories. For the villain side, there's Nothing Is Scarier if that's your intention. But if you do give them a backstory, make it either interesting, relevant to the story, or both.

Another is the dynamic the hero has with the villain. Their backstories can be intertwined or not. They can contrast each other in both personality, backstory, and powers. They can even be foils or Good/Evil Counterparts to each other. Or they don't have anything in common but still oppose each other regardless.

For what I like in a villain, I like Evil Is Hammy, Card Carrying Villains simply because I see them as being the most entertaining to work with. Though I do like the occasional villain you feel sympathy towards such as a Tragic Villain. Any of the villains having a few doses of Pragmatic Villainy or just being smart in general is refreshing to me as I've seen some cases of stupid villainy that made me feel like banging my head against the wall.

For a hero, well any personality that's not a jerk is fine with me. And just like with villains being smart, I like it when heroes are smart too as there's also been some cases where I felt like banging my head against the wall due to their decisions as well.

As for powers and weaknesses, if a hero/villain is meant to be a powerful character that you shouldn't mess with, have the weakness be a character flaw of theirs if you don't feel like giving a Kryptonite Factor, especially if you want them to be defeated for good. Sure, sealing them away works but that doesn't count as a weakness as that pretty much works on just about anyone. A good contrast to this is having the opposing character be the one with no powers, or at least not having as many.

As for my own personal thing I would prefer seeing more of, it's the underdog hero/heroes taking on the more powerful villain/villains and winning. I believe that makes for a more interesting battle than to have them be of equal power.
