Do you have a favourite Complete Monster?

This is a hard choice, so I’ll list the ones that stick most strongly in my mind (beware of spoilers):

Shulk

Shulk himself. While still remaining a very heroic character, he is given traits and flaws that still make him relatable. For example, his initial goal in the game of seeking revenge on Metal Face is decidedly antiheroic (even though Metal Face deserves it) yet he does not let this desire get in the way of his being a good person, and his willingness to always help people when he can is proof of that. However, this desire to help everyone is in of itself a personal flaw, since he believes that as someone who can see the future, it is his responsibility to prevent every bad thing from happening and blames himself whenever he fails; even to the point where part of his development is him accepting that he can’t defy destiny all the time, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to do so. Aside from this major thematic part of his character, there are minor traits that each humanise him a little bit more, such as his Adorkable tendencies, his having to be reminded to look after himself when he focuses too much on his lab work and his lack of self-confidence in advising others (as seen in the sidequest for his Pessimism skill tree). Shulk’s character is further enhanced by Adam Howden’s brilliant performance, who does a fantastic job of conveying what kind of person Shulk is. Overall, I think what makes Shulk such a great character for me is that he is a better, but not perfect, version of myself; a person I could eventually be if I made the effort to self-improve.

Melia Antiqua

Melia Antiqua. Apart from Shulk, I’d say that she is the character I relate to the most. As a result of being evidently sheltered for most of her life due to being a princess, it’s obvious that she is unused to socialising with people, which is a similar difficulty that I have due to being quite a reclusive person. She tends to talk in a formal manner (aside from the occasional awkward attempt to speak more casually), generally seems more comfortable around Riki than the Homs party members^note and has self-esteem issues. The latter is particularly prevalent in her relationship with Shulk- over the course of the game, she struggles with her affection for the boy who has helped her so much, yet she lacks the confidence to express how she feels; she clearly wants to say something, but cannot bring herself to so. While I’m personally not a shipper of the two (mainly since their romance would likely be a tragic one when you think about it), it hurts to watch nonetheless, especially with everything else she goes through during the game. Despite this, she still perseveres and tries to move on.

Egil (Warning: This character is a Walking Spoiler)

Egil. The best villain in the game and a prime example of why I love the Well-Intentioned Extremist trope; that is, his plan is insane but has a sympathetic reason behind it. While Shulk is eventually able to let go of his desire for revenge on those who attacked his home, Egil never forgave; it is this hatred that drives the plot of the game. He sends the Mechon to attack the Bionis and wipe out its inhabitants in order to prevent it from awakening again, believing that doing so will prevent the rest of the Machina from being killed and reasoning that the people of Bionis will die anyway if it awakens, along with the Machina. What makes Egil a tragic villain is that he is aware that he’s doing terrible things, but genuinely sees no other solution. Therefore, when Shulk gives him hope that there is a way to save everyone on both Bionis and Mechonis, he finally ceases his attack and soon sacrifices himself to preserve that hope.

How old are your siblings?

Quill and Drax. Quill gets a good chunk of it from Ego and Yondu, however, Yondu is not, while Ego is himbo prime (like, who the fuck puts a brain tumor in your lovers head. You could have just went out and bought some intergalactic cigarettes).

Also, Drax is weird in the fact that he is not unintelligent, as so much he is "so smart he's stupid".

Something related to my last Linkin Park question: Favorite and least favorite out of the interludes on A Thousand Suns? That means "The Requiem", "The Radiance", "Empty Spaces", "Jornada del Muerto", "Wisdom, Justice, and Love" and "Fallout".

Funny. "The Radiance" is my favorite interlude, because I think J. Robert Oppenheimer's speech suits the interlude. My own least favorite is "Empty Spaces", because it's just 18 secs of random noise and Brad speaking Spanish (a language that I never really cared about). I never really liked tracks that are less than 30 seconds long. (looks at Meteora's "Foreword" and several interludes of Reanimation)

I've said it before, and its still hands down My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Thank Troper No. 9001 for it.
