This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

So, the page quote for For Want Of A Nail was, not especially long ago, changed into something that does not fit at all.
SoundCloudThe current quote on For Want Of A Nail doesn't fit, but the previous quote fits Butterfly of Doom better.
I also removed the page quote on Disproportionate Reward since I received no objections to removing it

X 3, I always been of the mindset to only use the parts of the song that fit the trope and cut the parts that don't. But if the entire song is short enough or fits I'd say go for it and if it's a problem it can be discussed back here.
X 2, I agree that page quote isn't good enough as it also has a sinkhole in it. May I suggest the Mark Rosewater quote found on quotes page as a potential replacement?
Got four potential page quote I wanted feedback on before I add them. Some of these I suggested before but I got no response so I want to see If can get any this time around.
Their tins of poison laying near by their clothes
The day they both mistook an earthquake for the fallout,
Just another when the wild wind blows"
Cosmic Flaw:
Rewriting Reality:
And a magic lake which gave a life to the words the poet used..."
Social Media Is Bad or potential new quote for While Rome Burns:
My scrolling horror show
I'm live streaming the final days of Rome"

The Rosers were red. The Drownies are blue. I know What the Thunder Said. Do you?For Want Of A Nail: The Mark Rosewater quote is perfect, though the version on the quotes page has a few minor formatting mistakes. Here's the fixed version:
Mistaken for Apocalypse: I'm not a fan of song quotes in general, and that trope is normally supposed to be comedy. I'd like to use the Futurama example where Fry discovers that post-apocalyptic Los Angeles is, in fact, just Los Angeles, but I can't find the transcript.
Cosmic Flaw: Seems like it needs a bit of context. I prefer this one:
Rewriting Reality: Like I said, I'm not a fan of song quotes, but that one seems fine. I can't find anything better, at least.
Here's the Futurama quote:
Farnsworth: You wish! You're in Los Angeles!
Fry: But there was this gang of 10-year-olds with guns.
Leela: Exactly, you're in L.A.
Fry: But everyone is driving around in cars shooting at each other.
Bender: That's L.A. for you.
Fry: But the air is green and there's no sign of civilization whatsoever.
Bender: He just won't stop with the social commentary.
It can probably be trimmed to just the first two lines of dialogue if we're going to use that as page quote.
First two lines look good to me; any objections?
Also, did For Want Of A Nail.
Got Mistaken for Apocalypse and Rewriting Reality.
Wham Shot has a quote that references a specific shot that's not even an example (it's a "Hell, Yes!" Moment paired with Rule of Cool), and it doesn't fit with the quotes from Wham Line and Wham Episode, which are about the trope rather than being examples of the trope. There has to be a decent critic quote out there for this one.
It was pointed out on the now-stalled TRS thread for Keet that Genki Sakura from Monster Rancher, who's referred to in the page quote, is a Genki Guy, not a Keet. Should that quote be changed?
Keet cleanupI've got a couple of suggestions that I think fit the tropes better:
Verbal Tic:
Teleportation:
Noodle Implements:
to all of them
If there are no objections, I'll go ahead and add the three suggestions above.
clearly things are going well. The quote for The Abridged Series is quite long. I suppose it doesn't really illustrate the trope so much, either. Is there a better quote we can use?
Christmas Rushed currently has two page quotes. The Miyamoto quote was there first and I think it's the better quote. Thoughts?
I agree, delete the extra quote.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I'd like to reiterate Wham Shot. Just gonna copy what I said before:

The quote on Steven Universe: The Movie is from an Adventure Time song that's only related to the movie by being inspired by the same event in Rebecca Sugar's childhood. I think something from the actual movie or its marketing would work better.
Keet cleanupBadass Driver has a line about the Stig. The Stig is an example, but this explains nothing about the trope. Permission to delete?
Yeah, that quote should go.
Keet cleanupYeah, it's not illustrative at all.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Purenessx4 It also started bothering me today; thank you for pointing it out first.
Shoo Out the New Guy still duplicates Bus Crash. Because the quote illustrates the latter but not the former, I plan to replace the quote on the former with that on its Quotes/ subpage and then Cut List said subpage. Does that sound good?
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Sounds good
Just seen that Clarke's Third Law has two page quotes... which should be removed?
The Rosers were red. The Drownies are blue. I know What the Thunder Said. Do you?The page quote for Lame Excuse isn't an example. Does anyone have any alternatives or should we just pull it?
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Pull. I'm also seeing a lot of examples on the page that aren't about medical conditions (aka misuse).
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Is it kosher to include an entire song on a quotes page, like the stuff on Quotes.Villain Song, for instance?
