Zokie of Planet Ruby is a 2023 Canadian-American animated series created by Brian Morante and produced between Nickelodeon and Nelvana. The show debuted on December 31, 2023 on Amazon Prime. It follows the antics of alien Zokie Sparkleby and his human friend, a young influencer named Ruby Studebaker.

This series provides examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: A few times after Tweenkle rebrands to Teenkle, Ruby continues to address her by her original name before correcting herself. In "RadicalCon", Teenkle freaks out when she sees her VIP passes still have her original name on them.
  • Bad Influencer: Tweenkle Brite is fame-obsessed and can barely function when the cameras are off her.
  • Beyond the Impossible: Tweenkle has around 35 bajillion followers.*
  • Bland-Name Product: MeScreen is this show's equivalent to YouTube.
  • Can't Get Away with Nuthin': In "Tweenkle is Cancelled", Tweenkle has her reputation ruined after she understandably gets mad at a bird pooping on her during a livestream.
  • Corrupt the Cutie: In "Tweenkle Rebrands", Zokie and Ruby find Tweenkle's lost phone and decide to hold on to it, drawn in by her large follower count, and start looking and acting like her.
  • Crapsaccharine World: Pudge has the outward appearance of a Sugar Bowl, but is ruled by a tyranical king.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Zokie finds doughnuts disgusting, as revealed in "Dough-Not". It's because they look like Brox's poop.
  • Doing It for the Art: In an In-Universe case, while Tweenkle tries to make all her videos as trendy as possible, Ruby just does whatever she wants.
  • Eleventy Zillion: Tweenkle's view count is shown to be in the bajillions.*
  • Evil Is Petty: Even though Tweenkle has a follower count in the bajillions, she freaks out when Ruby (a child six years younger than her) gains just two.
  • Epic Fail: As shown in "Toxic Positivity", Tweenkle can't even eat cereal without a director telling her how.
  • Fantastically Indifferent: Nobody outside of the government cares that Zokie is an alien.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Fitting her quirky personality, Ruby wears mismatched scrunchies and socks.
  • Freaky Is Cool: Ruby finds perfection boring and prefers to be abnormal.
  • Invisible Subtle Difference: The zifflefloof and the zifflepoof are different varieties of space fungi, one harmless and one deadly. The only other difference is the zifflefloof is a light violet and the zifflepoof is lavender. Konko can tell them apart at first glace.
  • Mundane Utility: Zokie uses his magical powers mostly to make sandwiches.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted. There's Ruby Studebaker and the unseen Ruby Mayo who runs a vlog called Planet Foodie.
  • Outgrowing the Childish Name: In "Tweenkle Rebrands", Tweenkle turns 16 and rebrands to Teenkle.
  • The Perfectionist: King Pootywinkle subjects Pudgians to harsh punishments if they do anything that doesn't meet his standards of perfection.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: Tweenkle spends a lot of time on her phone, often streaming or texting.
  • Pubescent Braces: Tweenkle sports pink, heart-shaped braces.
  • Shout-Out: In "The End Times", Ruby paraphrases the "particular set of skills" speech from Taken.
  • Unfortunate Names: In "Tweenkle Rebrands", Tweenkle changes her name to Teenkle and remains completely oblivious to what it sounds like.
  • Uplifted Animal: Earl was a normal squirrel until Zokie gave him the ability to talk.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: King Pootywinkle is beloved by all of his subjects, no matter how much he abuses them. He is also beloved by Earthlings, as he's disguised as a Precious Puppy.
  • We Want Our Jerk Back!: Inverted in "Toxic Positivity". Hertzog Werner quits as Tweenkle's director and becomes the director of Planet Ruby, but finds that his creativity is crippled by the positive environment and he needs a torturous environment to make great art, so he goes back to working for Tweenkle.
  • World in the Sky: Planet Pudge looks more like a Floating Continent than a planet. As does Planet Fudge from "Virtually Reality".
