WMG / Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games

Go To

Mario and Sonic 2012 will have Classic Sonic and Classic Mario
  • Since Sonic Generations will probably be released around that time, Classic Sonic will probably appear, and Sega will probably make a Classic Mario, too. They will use Classic Sonic's model from Sonic Generations. As for Classic Mario, they could either:
    • A.) Make a 3D model of the famous 8-bit Mario sprite from Super Mario Bros..
    • B.) Make it a palette swap of Mario with the Super Mario Bros. colors.
    • C.) Give Mario a blue shirt and red overalls (like in Donkey Kong).
    • D.) To get real classic, make it a 3D model of the 8-bit Mario sprite from Donkey Kong.
      • They won't be playble though. They could appear, but as boss fights.
      • Jossed. No Classic Sonic, nor Classic Mario.

Mario And Sonic Olympic Games will have no new events, just characters.
  • Switched around. The London Olympics do have new events, but no new playable characters.

Wingo will appear in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
  • Well, he is a bird. And he acts similar to Nigel at points, so giving him some role in this game would kind of fit.
    • Jossed.

Like Nintendo Land and Splatoon Mario & Sonic At The Rio 2016 Olympic Games Wii U will have a hub plaza instead of a main menu.
  • The hub plaza would be a mini version of the Rio Olympic Park.

Events from previous handheld entries and completely new events not see before in the series to be in Wii U Rio 2016

    • Appears in the 2D events in the Tokyo 2020 game

  • Sailing
  • BMX

  • Boxing
    • Appears in the 2D events in the Tokyo 2020 game
  • Judo
    • Appears in the 2D events in the Tokyo 2020 game
  • Triathlon
  • Pentathlon

Paralympic Events will be included in Rio 2016
Why not? Add a bit more variety.

Possible Dream Events and their Possible locations in Rio 2016

In Rio 2016 Rosalina will be a playable character
  • Rosalina has been playable in all the Mario spin off games of the last 3 so years and was in Wii U/3DS Super Smash Bros so it would feel weird without her.
    • Well, she's going to wear all of these sports outfits (athletics, gymnastics/aquatics, winter/equestrian, tennis/golf).
  • Rouge The Bat has been confirmed as a playable character instead of beening a boss this time and I expect they will want the number of playable female characters per franchise even.
  • Birdo is just the goalie in football/soccer events, which leads to...
  • Confirmed!
  • DOUBLE CONFIRMED!

Cosmo the Seedrian will be playable in Rio 2016
  • SEGA seems to be aiming for unexpected characters. If Sticks can make it, I don't see why Cosmo can't.
    • Jossed. I'll keep waiting SEGA…
      • It's unlikely this will happen.

Mario and Sonic taught each other moves.

Classic Sonic will appear in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
  • If you count Sonic's appearance in the 2D games as Classic Sonic, then you can consider it confirmed. Otherwise, it's totally Jossed.

2020's Dream Skateboarding is a slight preview of the next Riders game.

Sage and Pauline will be playable in the next game.
I don't feel like I need to explain this-they are two favorite characters from more recent games so them turning up makes sense. Not to mention, Eggman would most certainly want to compete with his daughter.

Just like how the London 2012 Games was the non-Boom debut of Sticks the Badger, the next game will be the video game debut of Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Wolf.
Tangle was namedropped in Sonic Frontiers, so it would make sense for her to appear in a future game, even a spin-off. Ditto for Whisper, since she and Tangle are essentially a package deal.

The next game (whether it's Paris 2024 or Milano-Cortina 2026) will have two more female characters from each franchise.
There will be more villains in the next game.

More fan favorites will be included in the next game.
