Tear Jerker / How It Should Have Ended

Go To

  • The Hulk crying over getting skipped when it came to the Super Cafe segments. At least he finally got to hang out with Supes and Bats with the other Avengers.
  • Seeing Uni-Kitty cry in The Lego HISHE Alternate ending. You just want to hug her!
  • Peter Parker's flip out in How Amazing Spider-Man 2 Should Have Ended after losing Gwen. Considering the source material it's not really too funny when you consider it in-universe and out.
Garfield Peter: I lost my parents.... My uncle died... now THIS?! I even thought I saw my dad at Gwen's grave! I...I dunno what's real anymore, man!
    • Also, the fact that he tries to force Superman to turn back time the way he did in Superman: The Movie by pointing a gun and threatening to shoot Batman really shows how far off the deep end he has become. Hell, Superman even tries to calm him down and tells him that he's a hero and his city needs him, but it doesn't work.
  • The grim fates to the The Wizard of Oz's other heroes. The Scarecrow remains tied to a pole in the cornfield, and gets pecked by crows which he fails to scare. The Tin Man becomes rusted so stiff, he can’t move or talk. The Cowardly Lion never finds self-confidence, and quivers at every sound the forest makes.
  • The Griever's utterly anguished song of loneliness in the ending of "The Maze Runner". His crying also helps.
  • ''Bat-Blood'' has Batman singing about how he and Superman have gone from being cafe-conversing pals to fighting in a crapsack world. We all know that Batman and Superman will work things out in the end, but with 6 months before their film premiers, it's quite sad to see that their HISHE counterparts are spending that time being bitter with each other.
  • Captain America: Civil War:
    • The ending in which Bucky apologizes to Tony for killing his parents. Also kind of counts as moment of heartwarming.
    • In the same video, Rhodey/War Machine dies from the fall that incapacitates him in the actual film.
      Tony: Gimme vitals.
      F.R.I.D.A.Y. (Stark's new AI): Oh, he's dead.
      Tony: RHODES!!!!!!!!
[Smash Cut to Rhodey's grave, which reads "Fell 15,000 feet in a metal suit going 400 MPH...", while a somber choir is heard.]
    • There's also Tony's "tank missile" catchphrase. This time, it's not done with a quirky falsetto. It's declared in anger.
  • Logan: The majority of the video is them doing a parody of the Les Misérables (2012) finale. It's done very seriously in keeping the emotion of the film's ending. They even remark how Hugh Jackman is Logan after being the character for 17 years and recasting him is a lost cause. It's not trying to be funny for most of the video and gives a lot of respect for the franchise's end of an era.
  • In Thor: Ragnarok, most things work out great, but the mood turns somber as Thor remembers that Odin is still dead, and the Hulk is still missing (though at least he's having a good time).
  • Justice League
  • Avengers: Infinity War
    • Everyone in the villain pub gets wiped out when Thor snaps his fingers (without the intention of so. He just liked the music that was playing at the time and snapped his fingers to it. )Their reactions are the same as the heroes from the actual movie itself.
      • Voldemort gets this especially hard, having already been vaporized once, and clings to the Joker for comfort just like Spider-Man did to Tony from the movie. Joker just stabs him in the back for fun before getting vaporized himself.
      • Just Thanos throughout the whole thing. You think after spending years as a janitor before Infinity War came out that he'd finally get his due. Instead (because he actually won in his film) the whole video is dedicated to five scenarios in which he loses, the last of which he comes back to the pub without an arm. Then the vanishing starts to happen and he still finds no satisfaction because all of his friends are paying the price.
    Thanos: Palpatine...
Palpatine: Are you happy now, Thanos?
Thanos: I thought it was the only way... (Fades away)
    • Hell, even the heroes have one. When Thor snapped his fingers to the music, everyone gasps and even the music goes silent. Then one of them says, horrified:
    "What did you just do?"
  • For the Avengers: Endgame trailer, numerous other heroes show up to take on Thanos, some of whom have clearly lost their own friends or family in the snap like Johnny Stormnote , Mr. Incredible and Dash, Jessica Jones and Danny Rand. The real kicker is Donatello arriving completely on his own and looking utterly defeated, which is such a pitiful sight it briefly brings down everyone's triumphant mood.
    Steve: Thanos is gonna pay.
    • Among the new arrivals are Sora and Donald. This implies that among the snapped include Riku, Kairi, Goofy, King Mickey and goodness knows who else...
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: To lead into Endgame, one of the alternate endings shows Scott insist that this isn't a good time to conduct this kind of experiment, as his friends need his help, right before he sees Hank, Janet, and Hope get dusted in front of his eyes. It's immediately followed by Superman and Batman ending up falling victim to the snap, which is funny due to Batman's sheer willpower letting him live, but does let the reality of the situation set in that not even the parodied versions of these characters are safe.
  • Joker (2019): We get a more happy outcome for Arthur's upbringing where Thomas Wayne actually takes responsibility and adopts him, raising him in a much more healthy environment and officially making him Bruce's brother. This is all In Spite of a Nail, however, as Thomas and Martha are still murdered in Crime Alley.
