LittleBig Loco Roco is a series of custom LittleBigPlanet (and later, Dreams) levels made by yoda115 and bigphil2695, inspired by the LocoRoco series. It follows the same basic plotline as the aforementioned games: the Moja Corps are attacking the peaceful world of the LocoRoco, so it is up to them to stop the intruders and take back their rightful home. However, it also features a significantly darker tone than the series it is based on, involving guns, tanks, and frequent depictions of war, resulting in a generous amount of blood and on-screen death.

The series is largely centered around the yellow LocoRoco, Kulche, known here as Kelche Olmee. Once a cheerful, happy-go-lucky kid as in his home series, the traumatic events of the Moja War have had quite the effect on him. Thus, upon your arrival, Kelche makes your Sackperson a simple deal: go kill the Moja, or else, he will murder you in your sleep.

Its first entry came out in 2008, while the latest, The Letting Go - Episode 1: The Hour of Lead, was released in 2020.

This series provides examples of:

  • Adaptation Name Change: Kulche is now known as Kelche, and has been given the last name Olmee.
  • Adapted Out: Thus far, both Majoliné and Galanmar, who were major villains in LocoRoco 2, have yet to make an appearance here.
  • Artifact Title: Although the series has officially moved to Dreams starting with The Letting Go, the "LittleBig" part of its title remains.
  • Bungled Suicide: Kelche tries to kill himself in various ways over the course of the series, but he fails every time. One of these attempts leads to him and Dominus being imprisoned and then kicked off of Mr. Cheesemonkey's ship.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: For some reason, the Sackperson who helped revive Kelche and later kill Bonmucho is nowhere to be seen or even mentioned in The Letting Go. Instead, these events are solely credited to MuiMui and Dominus, respectively.
  • Coming of Age Story: The later entries detail Kelche's life from a child to an elderly man... er, LocoRoco.
  • Deadly Euphemism: When Kelche is prepared to shoot himself again on Mr. Cheesemonkey's ship:
Kelche: It's time for the Loco Roco... to Dream again.
Dominus: KELCHE! NO!
  • Demoted to Extra: The other LocoRoco, who originally shared equal importance with Kelche, are scarcely seen.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Kelche's caretaker is a MuiMui named "MuiMui".
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: The first few levels are far less story-oriented, each consisting of essentially just a hallway filled with LocoRoco NPCs to talk to and the occasional Moja to defeat before reaching the end.
  • Flashback: The later levels in particular use a lot of these to give a look into various moments from Kelche's life.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: Initially, the main way to tell Kelche and his brother Dominus apart is their antennae: the former has one, while the latter has two.
  • Invisible Anatomy: The limbless LocoRoco are able to carry objects and drive vehicles without a problem, among other things. Particularly jarring in The Letting Go's opening Flashback, in which MuiMui explicitly instructs Kelche to arrange his fingers on a guitar, despite him not visibly having any.
  • Last of His Kind: MuiMui states that he is the only surviving member of his species, after his home planet collapsed. This is precisely why he wanted Kelche and Elisa to have a child together, as they both possess his recessive genes. Later defied once Kelche kills MuiMui.
  • Look-Alike Lovers: Aside from her eyelashes and slightly larger eyes, Elisa looks exactly like Kelche. Justified once it's revealed that they were actually half-siblings all along.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Shortly after Kelche discovers the Elisa/Moja hybrid in their basement, MuiMui reveals to Kelche that they are actually father and son, respectively.
  • Mood Whiplash: The first episode of The Letting Go begins with a rather sweet flashback in which MuiMui teaches a young Kelche how to play the guitar... before abruptly cutting to a flashback of Kelche shooting MuiMui from the previous entry.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Dominus has two antennae, just like the original Kulche whenever two or more of him are combined into one.
    • Kelche and his family's last name, Olmee, comes from the name of a creature introduced in LocoRoco 2.
    • In the seventh entry, one Flashback has you take control of Kelche in an environment designed to be highly reminiscent of the original games, featuring Cameos by several characters such as the Nyokki and the Pickories.
    • One floor of Mr. Cheesemonkey's ship contains a barrel of toxic waste, which Kelche has the option to drink from. If he does so, he briefly transforms into his classic counterpart, as the title screen song from the first game plays in the background.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Goudachimp bears an uncanny resemblance to YouTuber Nikocado Avocado.
  • Palette Swap: The other LocoRoco all use the same model as Kelche, although with various colors and/or other minor differences.
  • Patricide: Kelche murders his biological father, MuiMui, after discovering that MuiMui secretly kept a living Moja in the basement of their home.
  • Promoted to Playable: Some of the Flashbacks have you take control of Kelche himself. He fully replaces the Sackperson as your playable character in The Letting Go.
  • Really 700 Years Old: MuiMui reveals at one point that he is over 1000 years old.
  • Slain in Their Sleep: At the start of the early levels, Kelche threatens to do this to your Sackperson unless you help kill the Moja. He eventually does it to MuiMui after learning that he secretly kept a Moja alive.
  • Stripped to the Bone: All that remains of Goudachimp after Mr. Cheesemonkey vomits all over him is a skeleton.
  • Sudden Anatomy: Despite Invisible Anatomy being in effect for the most part, the LocoRoco sometimes have visible arms when needed. For example, when Dominus hugs Kelche at the end of the seventh entry, and when Kelche is choosing between floors in The Letting Go.
  • Time-Passage Beard: Kelche and MuiMui both grow shaggy gray beards in the decades they spend locked up in their house together.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Bonmucho, of all characters, speaks with a high-pitched Southern accent, as opposed to the very deep voice he had in the original games. This is especially jarring considering he only appears in his mutated form here.
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: Whenever Mr. Cheesemonkey vomits, it's always shown in its full glory.
  • You Don't Look Like You: The LocoRoco characters hardly resemble their original counterparts. Special mention goes to Bonmucho, who for some reason looks more like a floating head with red sclerae, surrounded by flames.
  • You Have Failed Me: Mr. Cheesemonkey kills Goudachimp as punishment for allowing Kelche to retrieve his gun from the safe, leaving behind nothing but a skeleton.
  • Zombie Puke Attack: Although he isn't a zombie, Mr. Cheesemonkey seems to utilize his own vomit as a weapon, and, at one point, uses it to help Dominus and the Sackperson escape confinement.
