- Hercules: During the "One Last Hope" number, Hercules, Phil and Pegasus do crane poses together in front of a sunset.
- Alvin and the Chipmunks: Alvin does the crane pose when playing with Simon and Theodore at Ian's mansion.

- The Social Network: When Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss find out from their friend Divya Narendra that Mark Zuckerberg has stolen their idea for Facebook, Divya and Tyler want to go after Mark and sue him (or even beat him up), but Cameron refuses because he thinks it'll be like "my brother and I are dressed in skeleton costumes chasing the Karate Kid around a high school gym."
- The Dresden Files: In the short "It's My Birthday, Too" Molly addresses Harry as "Miyagi-san".
- The Mermaid Chronicles: Cordelia's favorite movie is The Karate Kid because the underdog triumphs and the jerks get their comeuppance. Wade complains that it's unrealistic, because in real life the bullies usually win.
- Perry from Are You Seeing Me? dislikes the remake because Jackie Chan does kung-fu, not karate.
- Angel: When Holtz offers to take Justine under his wing and teach her how to fight vampires in the right way, she sarcastically wonders if he's going to go Mr. Miyagi on her, and adds, "Wax on, wax off." Holtz replies "You'll find your references to modern popular culture will tend to be lost on me."
- Community: Chang makes a reference to the Wax On, Wax Off scene early in the first season. An episode in the final season features him and Annie participating in a play based on the first film with Chang cast as Miyagi.
- How I Met Your Mother: Barney Stinson is a huge fan of the first film, though of Johnny Lawrence and Cobra Kai instead of Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi. William Zabka and Ralph Macchio even guest star as themselves.
- Titans (2018): In 2x02, after the training session, Gar and Rachel share some intimate moments and make fun of Dick being obsessed with training as if he was Mr. Miyagi himself.
- Stranger Things: Max directly references the movie when Eleven asks who Ralph Macchio is.
- Father Ted has the title character refer to Mr. Miyagi in his presentation on diversity on Craggy Island. This actually makes him come across as even more racist, as he refers to Miyagi as Chinese in a blatant attempt to appease the Chinese community he had previously offended. The Chinese don't actually mind too much, as while Ted is told that his presentation was a big pile of crap, the free drinks afterwards end up having the desired effect.
- A "Cookie's Crumby Pictures" segment from Sesame Street is entitled "The Biscotti Kid". In this sketch, Mr. MeCookie teaches Cookie Monster as Cookie-san ancient Biscotti Karate so he can earn the Black and White Cookie Belt.
- Burning Rival: The game outright samples Mr. Miyagi's "Concentrate, focus power" line for the main character Arnold's theme and is played as a sound effect when a character reaches low health.

- How to be a Werewolf: When Eli is trying to figure out a starting point for teaching Malaya about werewolf things he comes to the conclusion she knows "jack shit", to which she responds "Oh wow, thanks Mr. Miyagi."
- The Angry Video Game Nerd has reviewed the licensed game of the film for the Nintendo Entertainment System by LJN.
- Cow and Chicken: "The Karate Chick" has Cow, Chicken, and The Red Guy (who is teaching Chicken how to use "butt fu" to defend himself against a bully) recreate the iconic pole-balancing scene as part of their training. The Red Guy promptly loses his balance and falls into the water below, where he gets attacked by a shark.
- An episode of Dennis the Menace is entitled "The Karate Kiddie".
- Lots of skits from Family Guy that make fun of the franchise are in these episodes:
- "Lethal Weapons": When Lois takes up a new martial arts hobby, Peter can’t help but mock her Tai-Jitsu teacher by calling him Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso's actor).
- "We Love You Conrad": Here we see Jillian's fiancé, Derek Wilcox, mimicking Mr. Miyagi as he heals an injured waiters arm.
- "Excellence In Broadcasting": Here we see Brian being attacked by a street gang, then Rush Limbaugh appears and fights off the gang single handed, (just like Miyagi in the first movie), much to Brian’s amazement.
- "Boops-Dee Bappa Dee": An excited Chris is desperate to get home from his trip to Italy in order to see The Karate Kid V. This leads to a crazy cutaway where we see an older Daniel LaRusso seeking Mr. Miyagi's wise counsel as he's having some "performance" issues. Let's just say that he'd be happy to give a helping hand.Daniel: Mr. Miyagi, this is kinda embarrassing, but I'm having a problem with erectile dysfunction.Mr. Miyagi: Hai, Daniel-san. Miyagi fix (clapping then rubbing hands together).
- "The Most Interesting Man In The World": Joe and Quagmire are watching TV at the bar showing the end of "The Karate Kid...with Realistic Feelings".Johnny Lawrence: You're all right, LaRusso.Daniel: (bleep) you! You just tried to cripple me!
