The Pastry of Knowledge
While hanging out in the cafeteria, Becky brings up how their upcoming grades will result in a change in courses, meaning that Anya will end up in a low-level class if she doesn't improve hers. Suddenly, they overhear from some upperclassmen about a legendary pastry that can turn any child into an Imperial Scholar. So they rush out to obtain the treat but are at odds against Damian and his coat-riding lackies. But to everyone's shock, George ends up buying the last set who offers to spare four of them out of guilt. So the kids settle things with a game of Old Maid. Anya manages to win the first round thanks to her telepathy but has to replay after everyone accuses her of cheating. When it comes to the last round, Damian tries to take the winning card but purposefully loses after being won over by Anya's adorable looks. So she eats the Legendary Pastry but is dismayed to receive a low quiz score.

The Informant's Great Romance Plan II

The two use Franky's cat-nip machine that ends up luring a horde of cats, including the elusive Mr. Kopi. Franky's inventions in capturing the cat have no effect and it's only until Yor uses her physical abilities to catch Mr. Kopi is the mission a success. That is, until Franky learns that Kacey already has a man and is set to be bethrothed to him. Thus putting his new romance plan to ruin.
In the end, Yor gets a call about an upcoming customer.

"The Pastry of Knowledge"

  • Achievements in Ignorance: Played With. Anya openly admits that she has no idea how to play Old Maid. But thanks to her Telepathy, she's able to read her opponents' minds and win the first round.
  • Adaptational Explanation: The original manga version did not show anything that specified the ancient language Anya seemed to be so good at, but Anya's test sheet in this version specifies the language is Old English, and instructs the students to translate Old English words to Modern English. The problems are actual Old English words like "scole" for "school" and "leorning" for "study".note
  • All for Nothing: Eating the Legendary Pastry does nothing to improve Anya's academic knowledge.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Anya still ends up with a poor quiz score and is destined to be separated from Becky if she doesn't perform well in the final exams. But Loid cheers her up with a hamburger steak dinner after reviewing her scores.
  • Breaking the Fellowship: Becky mentions how she and Anya won't be able to continue their friendship if they end up in separate classes.
  • Continuity Nod:
Damian: You still haven't given my pencil case back!
Becky: You made me sing when it wasn't necessary!
Anya: Anya's leaf will be avenged!
    • Anya comes close to using her killer punch on the boys for laughing at her.
  • Crush Blush: Damian gets this when he sees Anya crying during the final round of Old Maid.
  • Crush Filter: Scion Boy sees his hated shrimp foe in an adorable light. The first is when she's crying during the game and second is when she offers to share her macaron with him.
  • Dark Horse Victory: Anya, Becky, Damian, Ewen, and Emily all raced to get the last serving of the pastry. The one who finally got it, however, is George.
  • Dramatic Irony: Damian angrily thinks to himself that Anya won because she has mind-reading abilities.
  • Friendless Background: George tries to cheer up Anya by mentioning how she isn't a friendless loser like him.
  • Heroic BSoD: Anya feels genuine despair after she failed another quiz and how it sets into her that she'll be placed in a low-level class. Though she cheers up as soon as her dad offers to make her steak.
  • Hidden Depths: Loid notices that Anya actually got a lot of answers on the Ancient Language Quiz correct and was only docked for spelling errors. He thinks to himself that she must know more about the subject from wherever she originally came from.
  • Kick the Dog: After acting like crybabies over Anya winning the first round, Damian and his coat-riding jerks laugh at her for picking the Joker card in the second game. Mind you they were only playing again because Anya chose to forfeit.
  • Literal-Minded: Anya has a hard time playing along with Becky's soap opera themed game.
  • No Poker Face: Anya's poker face skills need work as she practically guides Damian to a card he needs.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Anya is worried when she hears Damian pondering the possibility of her having telepathy.
    • Bond does this after Yor offers to make everyone dessert.
  • Shout-Out: Anya gets a Super Saiyan themed transformation after eating her macaron.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Loid cheers up his daughter in the end by offering to make her favorite dinner.
  • Willfully Weak: Out of fear of Scion Boy discovering her telepathy powers, Anya has to resort to losing on purpose to keep her powers secret.

"The Informant's Great Romance Plan II"

  • All for Nothing: Franky manages to return the cat to Kacey only to learn that she's engaged to another man.
  • Book Ends: In the beginning, the informant brings up Garden to Loid. In the end, Yor gets a call from her Garden superior about a new assignment.
  • Bungling Inventor: Franky creates several clever inventions to locate the missing cat but each one ends up being destroyed by other cats, are ineffective in catching Mr. Kopi or bring about great misfortune to him and Yor.
  • Cliffhanger: Yor gets a call from Garden instructing her on her new customer.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Franky gets the spotlight as he tries to find a missing cat to impress his new crush of the week.
  • Downer Ending: Played for Laughs. Franky is crushed to learn that his new crush already has a boyfriend, thus putting an end to his efforts in pursuing her. Additionally, the Powered Armor that he spent 10 years working on went down the toilet thanks to Yor breaking it to catch Mr. Kopi.
  • Dramatic Irony: The start of the episode has Franky bringing up how dangerous the Garden Club is. And later, he ends up working alongside Yor without problem.
  • Failed a Spot Check: You'd expect a dedicated informant like Franky to have learned that Kacey already had a man in her life before going through so much trouble. Especially since he had no issue doing that the other time he had a crush.
  • The Friends Who Never Hang: Yor offers to help out her future honorary brother-in-law Franky with finding the missing cat.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Franky shows off his inventive side by making a tracking device that can detect the collar bell of the cat he's looking for, a grappling hook, a net launching device disguised as a camera, and even a mini-mech suit, that takes 15 minutes to warm up. Franky tells Yor that he intends to make the world a better place with his inventions, while also making a hefty profit, and admits, to himself, that its all lies about the fact that he's a spy.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: What we see on the lost cat notice and the sign over the cafe Kasey works in are neither in English nor German. They are all romanized Japanese.
  • Hard-Work Montage: Of the informant variety. Franky calls on multiple contacts to see if they know anything about his cat of interest.
  • Internal Reveal: Franky brings up the assassination organization Garden to Loid.
  • Married to the Job: Franky's subplot ends with the narrator explaining that from then on he decided to live for the sake of his job.
  • Mood Whiplash: After Yor goes back to the office, after she helped Franky reunite the cat he was looking for with its owner, who had a boyfriend, she absentmindedly affirms to the Director that she is now Yor Forger, rather than Yor Briar, which upsets Camilla, he informs her that she has a private phone call, which he privately tells her it's from her usual client. When Yor answer the phone, the client tells the Thorn Princess that he has another job for her, which The Stinger shows her getting on cruise ship to escort the surviving Gretcher family members.
  • Murder, Inc.: Loid and his honorary brother Franky discuss Garden which is a legendary but secretive organization of assassins who hunt traitors per orders of their government.
  • Nightmare Face: Yor gives one to Mr. Kopi just as she's about to pounce on him.
  • Oblivious to Hatred: Back in her workspace, Yor isn't bothered at all with her coworkers' condescending sarcasm as she translates it all to her succeeding at being a normal woman.
  • Oh, Crap!: Franky and Yor share this reaction when they see a horde of cats charge at them thanks to the former's cat-nip themed invention.
  • One-Man Army: Franky boasts that a single Garden Club member is capable of killing a whole enemy squadron on their own.
  • Powered Armor: For his final trick, Franky pulls out a self-made armor suit that allegedly grants him superhuman abilities. Unfortunately for him, it takes 15 minutes to power up and he doesn't get to use his supposed powers, especially after Yor breaks his machine to stop the cat.
  • Rage Breaking Point: The hopeless informant reaches his after having enough of chasing after Mr. Kopi.
  • Running Away to Cry: Uncle Scruffy Head walks away to cry in an empty alley after delivering the cat to Kacey and her unexpected fiancé.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Loid has no interest in Franky's new romance plan and walks away without a word.
