"Regular Dinosaur Park"
is one of various stories set on the Coreline Shared Universe, and the introduction of a new location for the setting: Jurassic Park.
It has been five years since the Park has re-opened its doors and it is getting plenty of people daily. However, there is a constantly present and pretty clear danger: The dinosaurs that make the people come in are also very capable of destroying everything, and the many threats without and within the Park (which will undoubtedly end up releasing the dinosaurs) make security a risky proposition.
The solution? Hire Washu Hakubi, the CEO of weapons and technology MegaCorp "Hakubi Customs", and have her procure them with the firepower needed to deal with these dangers when (not if) they appear...

- Actor Allusion: A pretty convoluted In-Universe version: at one point Washu asks Claire Dearing to hold a gun and describes Claire afterwards as "a regular Sarah Connor" to encourage her. Bryce Dallas Howard was Katherine Connor (nee Brewster) on Terminator Salvation, but when Brewster was compared to Sarah Connor (by John Connor himself), she was played by Claire Danes on Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
- A Day in the Limelight: This story is one for Washu (who had appeared previously in various capacities on the stories by Gideon020).
- Amusement Park of Doom: The important part of the story is that the Jurassic Park higher-ups are looking for options to be less dangerous... ironically, it is mentioned at one point early on in the story that the Park's new key market is the "daredevil"-type tourists that wouldn't mind the Park being absurdly full of danger.
- Animal Wrongs Group: Among a Long List of issues that Washu mentions the Park needs to deal with in terms of security risks, she briefly mentions that S.C.A.L.E. and similar groups have made the Park a priority target of their cause.
- Boring, but Practical: One of the weapons the demonstration has is a boring old Ma Deuce. This Trope is name-dropped as the reason why the gun is one of the best BFG options of the group.
- Composite Character: In-Universe, the Park is the newer Jurassic World facilities with the "old" Jurassic Park name (taken back by majority vote), with the "old" parts of the Park (the former "Restricted Area") reactivated as a type of nursery and "safari" resort. As well, one of the main characters is an Alternate of John Hammond who happened to be a living LEGO Mini-Figure and combines the film and Jurassic Park: Trespasser backstories of Hammond.
- Description Porn/Gun Porn/Technology Porn: The Centerpiece Spectacular part of the story is Washu showcasing a "mixed bag" of potential options for the Jurassic Park higher-ups to check out. Every single one of these "potential options" is an absurdly lethal weapon, which she explains with glee.
- Heroic BSoD: A dark Running Gag throughout the story is Dearing showing traces of it (it is mentioned that her personal timeline before appearing on The Line is post-Jurassic World and she even went as far as freaking out when she first met an Alternate of Simon Masrani after seeing him die on an Indominus-induced chopper crash).
- If I Wanted You Dead...: The reason Washu theorizes that the mysterious Fog Fleet battleship doesn't wishes to do the Park any harm is because as a Fog Fleet ship, it packs enough firepower (such as one Wave-Motion Gun at least, plus multiple means to invoke the Macross Missile Massacre), that if it wanted the Park destroyed right now, there would be absolutely nothing on the Park (at the time) that would be able to survive, let alone stop, the bombardment.
- Insistent Terminology: "Assets" for the dinosaurs, just like on Jurassic World. On the one hand, it is because everybody tries (with various degrees of success) to be professional. On the other hand, it turns "asset containment" into a bit of a Deadly Euphemism.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Washu thinks on the final scene of the story (right after providing a Quip to Black-worthy line) that if the story was a TV show episode (she explicitly references Lost as the example), that would be a good time for a Quip to Black. And right then the story ends.
- Oh, Crap!: The whole group seeing a Fog Fleet battleship on the coast of of the island, overlooking the Park for reasons unknown, makes even Washu nervous (after all, the damn thing packs enough firepower to theoretically wipe out the island all by itself if it felt like it).
- Other Me Annoys Me: Hammond mentions at one point his disappointment any time someone confuses him for his Jerkass book version (to not mention said version having unleashed the Indominus Rex as a biological assault weapon upon the world).
- Sequel Hook: What was the Fog Fleet ship doing there, anyway? Why has it been looking over Jurassic Park for a while now? And who the hell was the guy on its deck, with the "WE ARE WATCHING IT (the Park)" sign? Its Captain, or (probably) worse yet, its Mental Model? The story ends with Washu deciding to find the ship and find out.

- The Centerpiece Spectacular sequence with Washu showcasing the various guns she brought along is a composite shout-out to various "gun salesman" sequences in movies, mostly "Easy Andy" from Taxi Driver and Justin Hammer showcasing the various guns that end up attached to the War Machine armor on Iron Man 2.
- Various of the guns showcased by Washu on the "mixed bag" demonstration include Halo firearms, the Electro-Muscular Disruptor guns from Primeval and the newest in Phaser rifle designs, plus a couple of newly-made models of weapons which had appeared on previous JP media (and acknowledged as such).
- Max Brooks' The Zombie Survival Guide and Daniel H. Wilson's How To Survive A Robot Uprising (a book similar to the Guide, only meant for Robot War scenarios) are somewhat name-dropped as the Follow the Leader inspiration for "How To Survive A Dinosaur Attack"-an In-Universe survival guide-slash-dinosaur behavior Edutainment book written by Dr. Alan Grant.
- We Are Not Going Through That Again: Zig-Zagged Trope (after a fashion): When Washu asks if the Park has an Indominus Rex, she is immediately answered that no, they don't (in the fear of a repeat of the events of Jurassic World). The "zig-zag" part lies in the fact that evil versions of Hammond and Doctor Wu have released the genes and other intel on the Rex out into the world, so now anybody who wants to do harm to InGen and the Park has the potential to breed one of the Indominuses and use it as an assault weapon for the job (and other stories set on the setting show that there is a lucrative black market for Indominus genes).
