The Metal Family
- Metalhead: A whole family of them! All of them have a different genre when it comes to their character design.
- Hair Metal: Glam, logically, although his favourite genre is good ol' Heavy Metal.
- Power Metal: Vicky, doubles as Punny Name on Viking Metal.
- Nu Metal or Death Metal: Dee's music of choice
- Heavy Metal: Heavy, no prizes for guessing it
- No Full Name Given: The family's last name(s) remain unknown since Vicky seemed surprised (and amused) upon hearing Glam's last name "Shvagenbagen" and Vicky's last name/maiden name remains unknown.
Glam
Sebastian Schvagenbagen, better known as Glam, is the main protagonist of the series. Victoria's loving husband and father of Dee and Heavy.
- Accidental Misnaming: Glam is misnamed 'Glen', by one of Heavy's teachers in the first episode.
- Black Sheep: It's implied Glam might be this for his wealthy family due to him refusing to embrace his family's lifestyle and not caring about the riches unlike his sister.
- Exhausted Eyebags: As a combination of stress and anxiety due the abuse at his father's hand, eventually replaced with a Guyliner
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: The kindest character in the setting, and a prodigy when it comes to music, and a music teacher, so no Dumb Blonde.
- Happily Married: With Victoria
- I Am Not My Father: It's portrayed subtly, with the most obvious example being when Dee asked him for guitar lessons, but Glam sometimes cashes himself slipping into his father's style of parenting and has to adjust course.
- Long-Haired Pretty Boy: As a teenager and young adult, as a married man he has a few raven feet, but still looking good for his age.
- Papa Wolf: When teachers assault heavy and cut his hair against his will he gives them an earful and lights a glitter bomb.
- Punny Name: His real name is Sebastian, but he's into Glam Metal.
- Stern Teacher: He may love his children, but will pull no punches if they screw up when learning. Dee found it the hard way.
- The Unfavorite: Glam was one - his parents always treated him as second best to his sister, even when he got better results at music school entry exams. When Glam walked out on his family, nobody bothered to search for him. After his death, Gustav left pretty much everything to Lydia and her cousin and only left Glam a box that contained his old replica of the city he lives or lived in for unknown reasons.
- Thrill Seeker: Part of the reason Glam loves metal and biker stuff is because they get his adrenaline pumping.
- Tranquil Fury: What Glam can do with a calm smile on his face is scary.
- Uptown Guy: Glam is shown to come from a more affluent family than Vicky.
Victoria
Victoria, also known as Vicky, is the wife of Glam and the mother of Dee and Heavy.
- Amazonian Beauty: Vikki is a beautiful redhead with her toned physique who can pack a punch.
- Badass Biker: Oh yes, Badass Biker first, Biker Babe later.
- Curves in All the Right Places: As Glam states in a Question and Answer's video, Glam loves her fiery temper and fantastic body.
- Fiery Redhead: Oh boy, is she ever, part of the reason why Glam loves her.
- Happily Married: With Glam
- Hell-Bent for Leather: Par of course with her biker lifestyle.
- Mama Bear: Not as common as Glam's papa Wolf.
- Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: The redhead love of Glam's life.
- Wrench Wench: She's a mechanic by trade.
Dee
- Big Brother Instinct: Tries to reason with a bully that injured Heavy, this... Backfires.
- Brilliant, but Lazy: His main defining trait
- The Cynic: His other defining trait, he's very negative, but still comes across as Endearingly Dorky.
- Emo Teen: Oh Lord is he ever, but don't make fun of him for it.
- Stalker with a Crush: Dee planned his first interaction with his crush, Lif, very carefully by spying on her for an unknown amount of time, even hacking through the school cameras and getting his brother in detention to make sure he and Lif could be alone and everything went perfect. Unfortunately, Heavy snuck out of detention and unintentionally ruined all of Dee's plans.
- Strong Family Resemblance: As stated, he looks a lot like Glam, but with curly hair, freckles and an upturned nose.
Heavy
- Big Brother Worship: Considers Dee the most talented guitarist he knows.
- Red-Headed Hero: He takes a lot of his mother, but he's a prodigy like his father.
- Strong Family Resemblance: Takes a lot from his mother, albeit he has slightly darker hair and no freckles.
- Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: One of Heavy's teachers says that "proper parents would never name their son Heavy" just before meeting Glam.
Other
Bug
- Would Hit a Girl: In the pilot, it is revealed that Bug slapped Vicky across her face after she refused to kiss him, prompting Vicky to beat him up and knock him out, ending their "relationship".
Gustav
- Abusive Parents: Glam grew up with his father, who would beat him on the wrist with a ruler over the slightest mistakes his son did while his mother preferred to stay out of it to avoid her husband's rage, apparently caring more about avoiding trouble for herself than her son's well-being. His father's abuse eventually drove Glam to run away and his father did nothing but insult him as Glam walked away.
- Would Hit a Girl: Gustav has shown that he would slap Lydia if she ever upset him, and implied with Mary, who's curled up in the corner of the room crying as Gustav is hitting Glam. In the comics it is revealed that after Glam walked out on him, Gustav started smacking Lydia with the ruler instead.
Lydia
- Spoiled Brat: Lydia fits this to a T. She looks down on her brother for being different than the rest of their family and doesn't bother to hide it and despite the fact that she inherited nearly all of Gustav's valuables she still throws a tantrum over not being able to get a yacht since apparently the keys are missing and threatens to sue Glam if their father left said yacht to him before storming off.
Anna
- Ambiguously Bi: When asked in a Q&A if there were any LGBT+ characters they brought up Anna and claimed she was an "interesting character."
Lif
- Perky Goth: If you don't upset her, Lif is actually a nice and cheerful girl.
