Soon to turn 18, Solon thought his life would finally get better by the time he becomes of age, but then a new girl comes to their school and charms his friends in less than a day, enough for them to trust her with their abilities the next day. And then later...

Solon recently discovers he's half-werewolf! And so does Enzy, one of his "supposed rivals." However, much to his own surprise, he's finds himself getting drawn to him, along with the side of himself he never knew about before. As he slowly embraces his werewolf side, he befriends unexpected people, even finding love with one of them, and yet fears what would happen should his brothers find out about his secret... or secrets.

It's part of a series called Tales Underneath The Dark Moon. So far, two extra stories have been published: Tragically Hopeful and No Matter What, You Got Me, I Got You.

The story can found on two websites: AO3 here, and on Wattpad here.

    A-I
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: In canon, Solon simply shares his backstory with the other vampires. But as revealed in Darkest Hour and Nothing Is The Same Anymore, Solon has an entirely different backstory here, and it's entirely separate from his brothers (who kept their original backstory, as revealed in the bonus chapter), and explains why he's a vampire-werewolf hybrid.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Most of the characters have more complex personalities in here than in the original story:
    • Thanks to making some new friends with Enzy and the Sunshine City werewolves who also help him accept the other half of his heritage, Solon goes through some levels in kindness as he vulnerably opens up some of his fears and significantly loses his agggressiveness and need to put up a cold and arrogant faΓ§ade over the course of the first arc, overall becoming much more nicer, politer, more cordial and emotionally open as a result of no longer hiding his soft side. Although its downplayed since he was never really a mean-spirited person in the canon to begin with, since Sooha once noted that in his own way, Solon was actually a sweetheart. He also lacks his tendencies to fake hating werewolves as much as his brothers, is notably more shyer (especially around Enzy and back when he was a child) and has a cute side that only those close to him get to see.
    • The vampires' more negative traits (such as neglectfulness to Solon and his feelings, lack of appreciation for literally anything Solon does for them and hatred of werewolves) that are barely addressed in canon are cranked up here to show just how bad those traits really are, especially to Solon. But despite said aloofness, they're also more protective and concerned of his well-being, and seem to dislike the thought of Solon being in a romantic relationship, except Shion, who seems to be the romantic one between them. They even had a Jerkass Realization after they reacted horribly to Solon's werewolf half and he later got kidnapped and eventually repaired their relationship with him.
    • The werewolves seem to be less prejudiced against vampires, given their willingness to accept half-vampire Solon in their little pack and like in canon, being able to put their pride aside for an alliance later on. And according to the author's notes, their personalities here seemed to be based on the the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (particularly the 2012 series), Khan = Leo, Najak = Raph, Enzy = Donnie and Tahel = Mikey.
    • Enzy in particular seems to be a mix between his Webtoon and Wattpad personalities. And as mentioned above, his personality is similar to Donetello. He also treats Solon with nothing other than kindness and patience, not unlike how Heli treats Sooha. Enzy also has a bit of a mischievous side, as he likes mess with Solon to see his adorably angry reactions (but only if the mood of the moment is lighthearted and if Solon isn't depressed or in a bad mood) and often flirts with him until he's a flustered mess. He's also less cynical here.
    • While she seems more business-like and stoic than in the canon material, Marge is less colder and more sympathetic to other people's feelings here, letting Neoma stay when Solon shows hesitance in leaving her somewhere, realized the vampires never told Sooha what they are and changed the subject and finally after telling the group the truth about themselves, she gave everyone some space to take it all in.
  • Adaptational Protagonist: In the original webtoon, Solon was at best a supporting character, albeit one with a minor character arc following the reveal of his true heritage. Here, he's the main protagonist and the whole story centers on said character arc: him becoming less distrustful and aggressive and more calmer and kinder, identity crisis over his hybrid heritage and relationship with Enzy.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul:
    • In the canon, Solon knows the werewolves and like his brothers, he considers them rivals. Here, they all only meet up now in the earlier chapters of the story (Enzy during the prologue and Khan, Najak and Tahel in the Nightball game) because of his brothers' overprotectiveness and after resolving a misunderstanding they immediately become fast friends, the werewolves accepting of his vampire half and Solon becoming a part of their pack in the epilogue. Enzy in particular is Solon's Love Interest and eventual boyfriend and then husband/mate later on.
    • Due to multiple deconstructions of their dynamic, Solon's relationship with his brothers is much more strained here, less so with Jino and Noa but more so with Jaan, yet at the same time, they're more protective of him, especially when it comes to potential romantic suitors. However, they do eventually make up and have a better relationship than before, the vampires even getting rid of their werewolf prejudice for him. On a more positive note, Solon doesn't argue with Shion here (unless you count the arguments with all his brothers).
    • Since Khan didn't see Sooha under the eclipse where a werewolf automatically falls in love with the first person he sees (as he was out in the forest with his brothers and Solon on the night of said eclipse), because of the former, he does not develop romantic feelings for her here, and as for the latter, the werewolves are barely even acquaintances with Sooha in this story.
    • The bonus chapter reveals that Solon is actually related to Dardan as his paternal grandson. It also introduces Marge, who wasn't the vampires' caretaker but head of a group of orphanages here, and due to that, plus combined with being more nicer and empathetic (if also still no-nonsense and more stoic than in canon), the brothers are more willing to listen to what she has to say.
  • Affectionate Nickname: To up the Ship Tease between them, Enzy calls Solon "pup" or sometimes, "puppy". When asked why, Enzy excused it with the fact that he never got his name. (He really didn't, but still), and continues calling him that even after he learned his name, much to Solon's (secret) delight. When they get together, he adds new nicknames such as "doll", "cinnamon roll", and "sweetheart" to the list.
    • Solon's brothers (most commonly Heli, Jaan and Jakah) often shorten Solon's name to "Sol". This shows that despite how distant they have been to him lately, they still love him. As a sign that they got closer, the werewolves seemed to have adopted this nickname for him as well.
    • Solon's dad Apollo calls him "baby bat" and mom Selene calls him "pup" and "puppy" like Enzy does.
  • Age Lift: In canon, the vampires are at least a century years old. Here, they're as old as they look:
    • Heli is around 19-20.
    • Jaan and Jino are 18-19, with Jino being the younger of the two.
    • Shion and Solon are 17-18, with Solon explicitly mentioned of being the younger of the two, which Shion loves to lord over.
    • Jakah and Noa are 16-17, with Noa mentioned to be the younger one, and by extent the youngest of of everyone.
    • For the werewolves, dialogue implies that Khan is 20, Najak and Enzy are 19, and Tahel is 17. More obvious with Enzy, who's explicitly mentioned by the narration to be older than Solon.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Solon begs Heli not to sell him to the vampire hunters. Unfortunately, Heli wasn't sympathetic to him. Luckily, it all just in a nightmare.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: During his time in the orphanage, while the other vampires were extremely popular (Jaan was even a mini Chick Magnet!), Solon was outcasted due to his strange features and more timid and withdrawn personality. Same thing in the present day, where while he's not outcasted like before, Solon is implied to not be as popular as the others, though still popular enough to attract multiple admirers (particularly those that are the same gender as him).
    • As they all get older, Solon feels like this is the same case with his brothers. He realizes just how right he is after Sooha appears in the picture.
  • All There in the Manual: There are 2 extra chapters that focus on the two OCs, Richard and Neoma, that gives extra information about them.
  • Aloof Big Brother: This is the main reason on how Solon got so far in hiding his true heritage, despite him being unable to fib to save his life, as they've been kind of ignorant of him recently.
    • All of the vampires (except Noa and Jino) forget about Solon when Sooha arrived in Decelis. Best shown in My God, What Have We Done?, where Jino worries about leaving Solon alone while they go on a group date with Solon, meanwhile Jaan says that Solon's independent enough to be left alone. However, there's been implications that they were like this even before Sooha.
    • Among the six of them, Jaan is arguably the worst offender. The reason for his behavior was because Solon accidentally clawed Noa when his werewolf half started acting up a few years prior to the story. He crosses to Big Brother Bully territory when at his worst.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: This story plays differently from the canon one.
    • Transformations And Developments centers around Solon fully transforming into a wolf for the first time, which happens much later in both the webcomic and webnovel.
    • The Nightball game also happens a bit earlier than in canon.
    • Solon doesn't seem to have a special ability like his brothers (his werewolf half making up for it), but here he does, and it's Power Copying.
    • Neither Solon and the Sunshine City wolves don't go to the town square. Instead, they were in a forest. And since they weren't there, it was Jaan that scolded Shion for leaving Sooha alone, Sooha and Jakah go back to the alley, and Sooha tells them about Chris. Also, Khan doesn't fall in love with Sooha under an eclipse where a werewolf automatically falls in love with the first person he sees.
    • It's Solon, not Sooha, who grows closer with the werewolves and ultimately brings them together with the vampires.
    • The low-class vampires were actually hunters who are after Solon, not Sooha.
    • Solon is not an reincarnation of a past vampire lord like his brothers, but rather Dardan's grandson.
    • Since Marge wasn't their cold and cruel but ultimately well-intentioned caretaker here, the vampires and Sooha's hesitance in believing her is instead because she's a complete stranger to them (Solon in particular is a bit unnerved of her similar appearance to his tormentor Richard), but at the same time they believed what she said much more quicker than they did in canon (partially thanks to Solon being a Living Lie Detector).
  • Armor-Piercing Question:
    • Khan drops two pretty good ones in A Teeth-Clenched Alliance when the vampires are wondering why Solon never told them he was half-werewolf.
Khan: Well then, how'd you take it? The fact that he's half-werewolf?
(Cue the vampires going silent as they remembered how they reacted to Solon's reveal)
    • He later gave three more when convincing the vampires to team up with him and the werewolves to save Solon, which was enough to ultimately make them consider.
Khan: This isn't about the war between our species right now. What do you think they'll do to poor Solon? Don't you think that they might kill him for being a hybrid?! Don't you want to save him from that fate?
  • Armor-Piercing Response:
  • The Atoner: After all their mistakes, the vampires resolve to be better brothers to Solon.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Just because Solon is mistreated by his brothers doesn't mean he's unloved by them, and they're generally concerned for his well-being, even though they don't show it a lot (especially Jaan). However, the trope is actually deconstructed here because the brothers neglect him more than showing him that he's loved, it made Solon develop a massive inferiority complex because he thinks that none of his brothers actually liked him at all, and his idea of love is screwed up to the point where he shows doubt and initially didn't fully believe that Enzy is in love him (despite the two literally being the werewolf equivalent of soulmates), and a part of the vampires' Character Development is for them to shower with Solon love more often.
  • Babies Ever After: Sometime before the epilogue, Solon and Enzy adopted a little girl named Neoma.
  • Bad Liar: Since he's not a pure werewolf, Solon doesn't suffer from the restraint and therefore can lie... but at the same time, he can't, and for one example he clearly sucks at making excuses.
  • Because You Can Cope: Heavily implied to be the reason why the vampires (mainly Jaan) often neglect Solon, as they think he's able to protect himself, unlike Sooha. Best shown in My God, What Have We Done? where in a scene before leaving for a group date with Sooha, since Solon doesn't go with them here, Jino frets over leaving him alone, especially since he disappeared for a jog (actually, his first werewolf transformation) and didn't come back until the middle of the night. Jaan says this:
Jaan: Why? Solon's not a baby anymore. He won't be eighteen until December and he's far more independent than the rest of us combined. He can take care of himself.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: It's all but said that the reason why Solon fell for Enzy despite the rivalry between their brothers is because he treats him with nothing but kindness, even though he's half-vampire (and is posing as a pure vampire) and wasn't as kind to him back when they first met.
  • Beyond the Impossible: Transformations And Developments reveals that Solon has been suppressing his transformations for years. What makes it impossible is the fact that doing so would've killed him, but it didn't.
    • Solon's hybrid nature in general is treated like this, especially by hunters.
  • Big Brother Attraction: Mend The Bond reveals that youngest vampire Noa has a little crush on Solon. While not biologically related like most examples, they're still brothers, and while Solon was sympathetic and does think that Noa would be a great partner, he also understandably felt a bit weirded out by it.
  • Big Brother Instinct: The vampires' negative qualities might be more apparent in this story, but it's hard to deny that they aren't extremely protective of Solon, be it he stays out at night for too long or if someone gets romantically interested in him. This trait is what, despite them hating the mere idea of it, ultimately makes them agree to the alliance with the werewolves.
    • The werewolves are no slouch in the department, if anything, they're even more protective of Solon. Upon meeting him, they've been nothing but kind and gentle to him and immediately came to love Solon as a brother, up to the point where he's all but officially a member of their pack. When Enzy sensed Solon was in trouble, their first instinct was to look for him. While they willingly allied with the vampires to save him, Najak (who's implied to be the second most protective of Solon after Enzy) was more hostile to the vampires than usual. He's completely justified because they called Solon a "mutt" and drove him to tears.
    • Solon is just as protective of his loved ones himself. Played for Drama as Richard used this trait against him to force Solon to submit to his desires, threatening to kill the people he considers his brothers and his beloved in the most painful ways possible if Solon refuses.
  • Big Damn Reunion: Solon has this in the appropriately titled Reunions with his uncle Magnus, plus some members of his mother's pack.
    • He also had one with Enzy in Rescue Mission after his boyfriend finally found where he was being kept prisoner.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In We Were Torn By Pride, Jaan saves Solon from someone who was sexually assaulting him.
  • The Big Damn Kiss: Solon and Enzy have their First Kiss after they said their Love Confesssion to each other.
  • Birthday Episode: A New Age takes place on Solon's 18th birthday. Doubles as a Breather Episode as it's more Lighter and Softer compared to the previous chapters.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: Seems to be a recurring theme in some of the arguments in the story.
    • While Heli, Jaan and Jakah's reactions to learning of Solon's werewolf half was actually understandable, given how Solon had lied to them for many years, something even Solon himself knew was bad and hated every second of secrecy, plus even aware that they'd react like that, he also wasn't completely in the wrong for doing it, though, considering a) Solon wasn't even aware of said werewolf heritage until the beginning of the story, and b) considering his brothers' general opinion of werewolves, telling them didn't really seem like much of a good idea, either, which was proven correct when as mentioned above, half of the brothers had extremely violent reactions (to the point the other half needed to hold them back) when Solon had finally fessed up the secret. Solon even lampshaded how miserably hopeless his whole situation really was during a mental dilemma.
    • Related to the above, While Jino, Shion and Noa didn't try to harm Solon nor said anything bad about him following The Reveal of his werewolf half, a furious Solon correctly fires back that they aren't any better since they also didn't stop them either, not until Heli, Jaan and Jakah were mere seconds away from physically attacking Solon, and for most of the whole ordeal the trio did nothing other than watch as the other three verbally attacked him. The three even shamefully cringed in agreement of that.
    • When Tahel argued with Najak for being too harsh to the already remorseful vampires was not helping their already shaky alliance, along with rightfully pointing out that they should try to be more civil to them, Najak also had every right to call them out for what they did to Solon beforehand, and their general prejudice against werewolves, and to some extent, their general treatment of Solon. It's worth noting that while Tahel was insistent on keeping the peace, he didn't even refute that statement.
    • In the bonus chapter, similar to Solon's situation on the top, Sooha was pretty upset with the fact that Heli never told her the truth about them being vampires, and rightfully so, considering that she has told him some pretty personal stuff of her own. However, Heli was also in the right for not telling Sooha, considering that a) Unlike Sooha, Heli's personal stuff wasn't just his alone, but also his brothers' personal stuff too, b) just because Heli trusted her wholeheartedly and was pretty close to her on (up to a near romantic level), that did not mean that his brothers were on the same level as Heli (for proof: Jakah was not happy when four of the brothers showed her their powers when they were just mere acquaintances and Solon didn't even like her) and c) Sooha didn't even like vampires, and she probably wouldn't have taken it so well.
  • Broken Pedestal: Solon already started to feel this way towards his brothers at the start of the story when they were neglecting him in favor of Sooha, but it fully cemented in Coming Out after their negative reactions of his wolf-half. Fortunately, it becomes a Rebuilt Pedestal after they saved his life and had a much needed conversation afterwards that helped mend their relationship.
    • The vampires' Character Development shatters their rose-tinted vision of Sooha and made them realize how bad her prejudice against vampires are. Old Jaan definitely wouldn't have said that Sooha wasn't worth going after, and Shion later apologized to Solon and wailed that he was right about not trusting her.
  • Brutal Honesty: Jakah was a little too blunt when explaining why they had to hide their vampiric heritage from Sooha:
Jakah: Some of us weren't that close to you, like Heli was. Noa only knows your name, and Solon didn't even like you that much, and probably still doesn't. It's not something we can just tell you.
  • Cannot Tell a Lie: It's mentioned that this version of werewolves are this as a side effect for being able to sense lies, being physically unable to lie. Strangely enough, this trait came in handy when the vampires considered teaming up with the werewolves, as they're too sincere.
  • Cerebus Retcon:
    • When Jaan switched from Solon's side to Heli's upon meeting Sooha in It's Nice To Meet You from the canon Webtoon, it was Played for Laughs, even Solon taking it very personally. Go Big Or Go Home deconstructs that moment, since not only was it was mentioned that not only did he think it was a sign that Jaan and the rest didn't love him anymore, which fuels up Solon's insecurities by the way, but later chapters reveal that Jaan and Solon's relationship had soured after a terrible incident involving Noa, and seeing Jaan actually be on the same page as him after what must've been so long must've made him very happy... until Jaan met Sooha.
    • The whole fic deconstructing the vampires' canon treatment of Solon has made readers find it much sadder to read after reading this fic.
  • Character Development: It's subtle, but Solon's character arc in the story is him transforming from an inwardly lonely and miserable boy with severe anger issues, an identity crisis and with feelings of not belonging with his brothers that's hidden with an Ice King faΓ§ade into a more open, happier (and calmer) young man as he fully accepts his unique heritage with people that truly care about him, plus a better relationship with his brothers. Compare the boy from the beginning of the story with the slightly older one in the epilogue and bonus chapter, and you'll see two very different Solons.
    • The rest of the vampires slowly let go of their prejudice. This is best shown where their relationship with the Sunshine City wolves goes from an intense rivalry into a somewhat friendly rivalry. Jakah and Enzy are even mentioned to be buddies! They also learn to treat Solon better, and their relationship is much better near the end of the story.
  • Character Tic:
    • In a few scenes, Jino's hands spark flames when he loses his temper.
    • Following him receiving his deceased mother's necklace, Solon noticeably developed a habit of clutching onto the gem when his anxieties start to overwhelm him.
  • Chekhov's Skill:
    • Weirdly enough, the werewolves being incapable of lying is what's able to let the vampires trust them (somewhat) for their alliance.
    • Solon's Power Copying ability combined with Richard's Mind Rape ability both prove useful when Solon needs to visually remember his childhood home in order to find it.
  • Child of Two Worlds: Darkest Hour reveals that Solon is the son of a vampire-werewolf couple (and his father is later revealed to be Dardan's son, no less). And now that Solon is aware of his heritage, his other worry is about which side he should choose. The epilogue implies that since the Decelis vampires and Sunshine City werewolves are on friendlier terms now, he didn't have to choose a side anymore.
  • Daddy's Girl: Neoma seems equally close to both her fathers, who in return are Good Parents to her.
  • Darker and Edgier: Some of the elements of the story are pretty dark compared to the canon material, which already seemed dark enough for most. Aside from the typical blood and gore stuff from the supernatural genre and explicit violence, here the characters actually cuss, Solon's first transformation as a werewolf was very painful, Solon's life is actually threatened and he's been stalked a few times in the story before eventually getting kidnapped, but special mention goes to Darkest Hour, where Solon gets mentally tortured and outright raped, with later chapters showing how much these events affected him badly. The author seems to be aware of this, giving the fact that nearly all the chapters have content warnings (the least being two) at the top notes.
  • A Day in the Limelight:
    • My God, What Have We Done? has Solon's brothers as the main stars and it follows them as they discover that hunters are looking for a vampire-werewolf hybrid (Solon, but they mistake it for Sooha) and the aftermath of Solon revealing his heritage to them and their Jerkass Realization over their overall treatment of Solon.
    • A Teeth-Clenched Alliance seems to focus on the werewolves, most prominently Enzy, who goes on his first date with Solon, confronts the Decelis vampires and gives the idea that the two groups team up for Solon's sake.
  • Declaration of Protection: The epilogue ends with Enzy declaring one for Solon and their little girl Neoma.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype: Solon deconstructs the Black Sheep role. Him getting ignored and sometimes even teased by his brothers because of his mistrust of Sooha is seen in a negative light, when it's shown how badly it affects him. The mistreatment is clearly affecting his mental state, as Solon constantly feels inferior compared to his brothers, almost to the point of depression and being self-destructive, as Solon does anything to prove that he's equal to them; one being joining Nightball despite not really liking it, and he's also very terrified of them discovering that he's half-werewolf because they loathe werewolves. It also made Solon feel unworthy of love, as he is a cripplingly Insecure Love Interest to Enzy (despite the two being the werewolf equivalent of soulmates) which got worse when the Big Bad made him feel worthless by telling him that everyone in his life only wanted him as nothing more than a cash grab and raped him.
  • Deuteragonist: Enzy could be considered as one, since part of the story focuses on their relationship, he has nearly the same amount of screen time and plot prominence as protagonist Solon. He even gets A Day in the Limelight.
  • Dirty Old Man: While he doesn't look it (since he's a vampire), Richard certainly gives off the vibe, considering that it's heavily implied that he lusted after Solon since he was at least nine years old.
  • Disappointing Heritage Reveal: In Coming Out, getting tired of all the lying and secrecy, after some encouragement from Enzy, Solon decides to tell his brothers about his werewolf half. Their reaction screams this trope.
  • Distressed Dude: Solon after he gets kidnapped at the end of Coming Out and stays that way until Rescue Mission. While he's more than capable of saving himself (as he defeated his captors while still drugged off-screen), what ultimately kept him as prisoner was blackmail.
  • Dude Magnet: A rare male example. Solon is this in spades (which helps that he hasn't had any female admirers). Enzy is in love with him and is his true mate, it's mentioned that he gets a lot of love letters on Valentine's Day, Jaan's reaction to a guy practically forcing himself on Solon implies it wasn't the first time it happened, his own little brother Noa had a crush on him since they arrived at the orphanage, and Richard seems to have lusted after him... since childhood. And that's only what the readers know of.
  • Dull Eyes of Unhappiness: By the time we see Solon again in Rescue Mission, his eyes were described to look lifeless. Seeing Enzy again brought his eyes back to normal.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After all the hardships Solon went through, six years later, he's shown to be happy in a more peaceful life with the werewolves, and he and Enzy even adopted a kid together.
  • Easily Forgiven: Averted to hell and back. Solon wasn't so forgiving towards his brothers for their reaction to him revealing his werewolf half and their general mistreatment. When Sooha is remorseful for unintentionally hurting them with her racism towards vampires, they were similarly pained to forgive her instantly.
  • Everyone's Baby Brother: Solon is the third-youngest amongst the Decelis vampires, but is treated like the baby, much to his chagrin. Even Jakah and Noa (who are both younger than Solon by a year) treat him this way. Then again, the alternate treatment that they use more involves not giving him any attention at all. In contrast to that, the werewolves treat him more like an equal and more appropriate for his age.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • While pretty open about not liking werewolves that much, even Noa and Jino were pretty disgusted at Heli, Jaan and Jakah yelling at Solon and calling him stuff like "mutt" for simply being a hybrid, something Solon was born with and thus had no control over it whatsoever.
Jino: We may... not like werewolves, but that didn't justify what you said to him. Because just because he's half-werewolf doesn't mean he's not Solon.
    • The werewolves are willing to ally with the vampires if that's what it takes to rescue Solon from hunters.
    • Sooha may hate vampires with a passion, but even she was appalled that they might've unintentionally hurt someone with her beliefs. And even though it was how Solon managed to convince her to talk to him and the vampires, she was stunned and seemed a bit disturbed to learn that the vampires were willing to burn their own brother Solon to a stake as a way to keep their friendship.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: In adulthood, Solon's bangs are trimmed a bit and worn down, and his hair is messier looking, giving him a softer look.
  • Fantastic Racism:
    • In the webtoon, none of the vampires knows about Solon's ethnicity. It's implied to be because of the feud between vampires and werewolves. This story shows why: one of the reasons Solon fears telling his brothers of his wolf half is because they hate werewolves. The reason is implied to be because they think a werewolf was involved with something in their past.
    • Sure enough, when Solon finally tells his brothers about his wolf half... their reactions weren't pretty.
    • Solon's parents (his dad a vampire and mom a werewolf) were in a forbidden romance. In order to stay together, they faked their deaths and ran off. However, barely a year after Solon was born, they were found, letting themselves get killed so their son could live.
    • Not just werewolves, Sooha's prejudice for vampires is explored in the bonus chapter.
  • Fantastic Slur: Stuff like "mutt", "furbag", and "dog" are considered slurs to werewolves.
  • Foil:
    • The Decelis vampires and Sunshine City werewolves, as per usual, and here in this story it's more obvious:
    • Enzy gets one with Richard. Both of them have been entranced by Solon's beauty at first sight, however while Richard ultimately feels nothing but lust for the hybrid, Enzy immediately grew to wholeheartedly love Solon as he is. It's best shown with how Solon feels about them: Solon loves Enzy back to the point where he was delighted to hear that they're true mates and feels safe and happy with him, while he utterly hates and fears Richard for giving him a large amount of trauma that lasts into adulthood.
    • Solon to Sooha, big time.
      • Both have been noted by many to be extraordinarily powerful (especially compared to the Decelis vampires and Sunshine City werewolves), have been unfairly ostracized in their childhood for being different (Sooha due to her Super-Strength and Solon due to his "weird looks"), eventually got accepted into a tight-knit group of brothers that are a different species from them (the Decelis vampires for Sooha and the Sunshine City werewolves for Solon) and later develop romantic feelings for the member they first met and became the closest to (Heli for Sooha and Enzy for Solon), but while Solon is a unique vampire-werewolf hybrid, Sooha is an otherwise normal human who just happens to have special abilities.
      • Personality-wise, Solon is very shy and pre-Character Development hid his misery and warm heart with a Tsundere-like Ice King faΓ§ade (and even after his Character Development he's still somewhat timid when it comes to sharing how he feels), plus due to being a child of two warring worlds and having felt like an outcast even amongst his Family of Choice for most of his life, he knows what it's like to be hated for something he was born with and is unprejudiced as a result. Sooha, on the other hand, is more confident, friendlier, pretty cheerful and open with her feelings, such as the fact that she utterly loathes vampires because of her Childhood Friend being killed by one.
      • Their differences are further reflected on how they reacted to two surprising reveals about themselves and their loved ones: Solon was understandably shocked to discover that he's half-werewolf and Dardan being his paternal grandfather, but ultimately accepted both truths in a calm and quick way. Sooha, on the other hand, firmly remained in denial over the fact that she's the reincarnation of Princess Selen, and her friends actually being vampires, and reacts with violent fury, from grabbing Marge by the collar and demanding to know if she was lying (even using her Super-Strength in her hold) to yelling angrily at the brothers for lying to her and then storming off, and it was never stated if she accepted any of her truths yet.
      • As for how their relationship with their respective groups goes, by the end of the story Solon is now an official member of Khan's pack plus has a loving marriage with Enzy and later adopts a daughter with him while Sooha leaves the vampire brothers halfway in the story and doesn't get together with Heli.
  • Forgiven, but Not Forgotten: As perfectly said by Solon:
Solon: While I most certainly won't forget what you've done... I can forgive you all.
  • Forgotten First Meeting: Coming Out mentions that Solon and Enzy met a few years back in their early teens. Averted for Enzy, who does remember, but considering his actions with Enzy in the prologue, played straight with Solon.
  • Go-Go Enslavement: During his time as the Blood Moon hunters' prisoner, Solon wore nothing but a large silk shirt. It's also implied Richard's been having his way with him for two weeks.
  • Good Parents: Both Enzy and Solon are shown to be quite doting towards their little girl and generally care for her well-being and happiness. Solon even refrained from drinking blood when he was low on it because he didn't want to freak her out.
  • Guilt-Induced Nightmare: Solon's first nightmare is this, as he was said to have had it in his head since the night he found out he's half-werewolf, which he wonders if it's because he can't tell his brothers.
  • Happily Married: Solon and Enzy are shown to be in a stable marriage in the epilogue, being understanding and supportive of each other with occasional moments of lovingly teasing each other.
  • Heroic Bastard: Averted. While Solon's definitely on the side of good, despite common belief that he's a bastard child, his parents were revealed to actually be already married before he was even conceived, mentioned to have eloped before they ran off their families' radar.
  • Hidden Depths:
  • Hide Your Heritage: Solon, not like he's got a choice in the matter.
  • Hotter and Sexier: Compared to the canon Webtoon's more chaste Ship Tease around the time of the story's release, post their Relationship Upgrade, aside from the cute kisses, Solon and Enzy publicly made out on their first date and have sex twice in the story, first on Solon's 18th birthday, and then in the epilogue after they both got turned on when Solon drank his blood (to be fair, Enzy mentions they haven't done it in a while). Before that, Solon also had a minor Fanservice moment when he stripped naked for his first werewolf transformation.
  • Hypocrite:
  • Informed Deformity: As a kid, Solon was said to look weird (and is even outright considered a freak), mostly due to his blue ombre hair and odd-colored eyes. However, considering how cute Richard found him, and how attractive Solon became as of the present (to the point of being a Dude Magnet), it was probably just because Kids Are Cruel and insanely jealous of him.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Since the author has taken a few things from the canon comic and webnovel, some things never really changed:
    • Solon and Enzy's first meeting is entirely the same as in the comic, only the dialogue is a bit different.
    • Although Solon doesn't go, the group date at the park square still happens, and so does Sooha getting attacked by vampires, though they weren't actually after her.
    • There's still a romance between a Decelis Academy student and a Sunshine City werewolf.
    • There's still someone that needs to be saved, and the rescue team consists of the vampires and werewolves.
    • Solon mentions that his brothers had considered burning him to a stake in order to maintain their friendship with Sooha.
    • Sooha and the rest of the vampires (minus Solon) are still reincarnations of a vampire princess and vampire lords, and they all still learn of this from Marge.
  • Interspecies Romance: Downplayed with Solon and Enzy, as the former is a vampire-werewolf hybrid and the latter is a pure werewolf. Played straight with Solon's parents.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Noa lets go of his crush on Solon after seeing just how happy Solon is with Enzy.

    J-V
  • The Jailbait Wait: When the vampires interrogated Enzy after learning that he and Solon are a couple, one of them asks if they had sex. A flustered Enzy pointed out that 1) they had just started dating, and 2) Solon is still only 17. Even though Solon was no longer a virgin thanks to Richard, he still waited until Solon's 18th birthday until they got intimate.
  • Jerkass Realization: The vampires have one when Solon went missing after he ran off following the horrible aftermath of The Reveal, which solidified when they realized that Solon has been kidnapped by hunters.
  • Kick the Dog: Heli, Jaan and Jakah's reactions to Solon's reveal is seen as this, as not only did they take it a little far with attacking him verbally, they attempted to so physically as well!
  • Last Episode, New Character: In the epilogue, Solon and Enzy's daughter Neoma is introduced. Mahan, Ruslan and Camil also briefly appear.
  • Like Parent, Like Child: Solon is heavily implied to take after his mom both in looks and personality.
    • Solon muses that his daughter Neoma is shaping up to be like him, weird interests and all.
  • Like Parent, Like Spouse: Enzy isn't the only one who calls Solon "puppy", so does Solon's mom.
  • Love at First Sight: Solon and Enzy, although they were unaware of it at first. This is one of the clues of the fact that they're true mates.
  • Love Confession: Solon and Enzy have a couple of them, but the sweetest one are tied between their first one or Enzy proposing to Solon on his birthday.
    • Noa also confesses to Solon, though he got gently rejected. He accepted it, though. Because they're siblings.
  • Love Epiphany: Both for the main couple.
    • Enzy realized his love for Solon during their first time out as wolves (even imprinting on him), although him fully realizing how he feels happens offscreen.
As the night went on, while the two wolves ran, playfully wrestled, and a bunch of other activities that wolves do, Enzy couldn't help but admire Solon. To be fair, Solon was undoubtedly beautiful, both inside and out, even if he seemed to be unaware of it.
    • Solon took a bit longer, almost 3 chapters after Enzy's. But considering his status in his family, no one can blame him for being kind of confused about love.
  • Loving a Shadow: One of the things Richard torments Solon with is that he manipulated him into thinking that Enzy doesn't actually love him and is actually thinks his heritage is his only worth. Enzy points out that while it was true that he approached him for that, he genuinely fell in love with Solon and every part of him, even his half-breed nature.
  • Meaningful Name: Solon's parents' names are Apollo and Selene. Combined with the sun and moon themes, his name being an eclipse of his parents perfectly alludes to his heritage. Also befitting the sun motif vampires have, Solon's Affectionate Nickname "Sol" from his brothers is Spanish for sun.
    • Fitting the general moon motif werewolves have, Enzy and Solon's werewolf daughter's name Neoma means "new moon" in Greek. It also means "pleasantness" and she's described by many as a good little girl.
  • Mind Rape: The ability of Richard. The way it works is by tapping someone's forehead, he can see what memory he wants to see, while said memory is relived by the person he poked, regardless of whether the person consented to this or not. He uses it to see how he knew Solon, which made him relive one of his worst memories in his already Dark and Troubled Past. Solon uses it on himself via his Power Copying ability to find out what his childhood home looked like in order to find his living relatives.
  • Mistaken Identity: Due to her Super-Strength and lack of vampire characteristics, the very human Sooha is mistaken for being the vampire-werewolf hybrid by a group of hunters, which Heli calls bullshit as she doesn't have werewolf characteristics, either, but the vampires decide to be extra protective in case it turned out to be true. Readers know that the real hybrid is Solon, and only the werewolves know the truth, so Solon is safe for now... then it turns out the Blood Moon hunters know exactly who the real hybrid is... ever since he was a little boy!
  • Mixed Ancestry Is Attractive: Solon is a vampire-werewolf hybrid and also an In-Universe Dude Magnet. Though nobody interested in him is aware of his heritage (and for many good reasons) but they're still aware of his attractiveness.
  • Mood Whiplash: Coming Out was quite a rollercoaster ride. It went from a Nightmare Sequence about Solon imagined his brothers would act when they find out about his wolf-half, Enzy and Solon getting a Relationship Upgrade, to him telling his brothers the truth about him, and their pretty ugly reaction to that, and ends with Solon's kidnapping.
  • Mum Looks Like a Sister: A rare male example. These drawings by the author and a friend of theirs shows Solon and Enzy looking more like big brothers than fathers to their daughter Neoma. Could be justified as Solon and Enzy are supernatural creatures and probably nineteen and twenty respectively at most when they adopted her.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: The fifth chapter, where the vampires realize just how badly they screwed up after Heli, Jaan and Jakah yell at Solon after he reveals he's half-wolf. It's even named after the Trope Namer!
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: Well, brother, actually. It's mentioned that the vampires often scare off any admirers of Solon. Solon recalls a time seeing Jino, of all people, burn a bunch of love letters meant for him during Valentine's Day. Solon didn't even meet the wolves until the time of the story because a few years ago, they stared at him for a few seconds and they thought they were ogling him. Kind of justified, given that the people Solon tends to attract can either be a good or bad person, and the complicated nature of people makes it hard for them to tell which is which. Luckily, aside from intense interrogating, Enzy didn't suffer when they found about his and Solon's relationship, and they even let them stay together.
    • Interestingly enough, they were happy when it seemed like Solon got a love letter (really just a note from Enzy telling him to meet up somewhere) and Shion often teases him about having a boyfriend. Though since they were with the Nightball team at the time, it's likely they were just teasing him outside then planned on hunting the one who sent the letter later on, and Shion actually seemed happy Solon was with someone who loves him.
  • Nightmare Sequence: Happens thrice. First was in Coming Out where Solon had a nightmare of his brothers selling him to the hunters after they find out of his heritage. The second, Nothing Is The Same Anymore, is more minor, but probably even more terrifying, where Richard rapes Solon. Luckily it wasn't that long, but still bad. The third one is a short one about Solon meeting Dardan, who threatens to kill all of Solon's loved ones, starting with Enzy and Neoma.
  • Noodle Incident: Something happened while Solon and Enzy were wolves that made Solon faint, and based on Solon's reaction, it must've been something that was humiliating for him.
    • Then there's the incident that got Solon and Jaan estranged. We never see or hear exactly what happened, but from the little tidbits mentioned, Solon clawed Noa in the face while experiencing his werewolf abilities for the first time. Considering that Noa and the others immediately forgave him for it, it seems kinda petty for Jaan to hate Solon for something as little as that.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: In Darkest Hour, Richard mentions that halfway close to the lair, Solon woke up, transformed into a wolf, and battled his captors while still half-drugged, and despite getting injured in the process he nearly won had reinforcements not joined, which sounds like something that deserves to be seen. Read the 5th word if you're still looking for that specific moment.
  • One True Love: The author's notes at the end of A Teeth-Clenched Alliance reveal that Solon and Enzy are mentioned to be true mates, which is the werewolf equivalent of soulmates.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • Shion being pissed after a group date with Sooha was one of the things that made Solon realize something was very wrong.
    • The vampires start to wonder what's going on with their brother when Shion mentioned that the normally grumpy Solon's been in a good mood lately, smiling and all. Jaan didn't believe it was Solon he was talking about.
    • When Solon tells him about his brothers' interaction with vampire hunters, like when he explained the murder, Enzy, who's usually a Mellow Fellow, goes so deathly serious that it unnerves Solon.
    • The normally mostly silent Noa yells at Heli, Jaan and Jakah after they threw werewolf slurs at Solon.
  • Original Character: There are 5 notable ones: Arc Villain Richard, Solon's parents and uncle, and Enzy and Solon's daughter Neoma.
  • Out of Focus: Sooha, due to the author's personal dislike of her, barely appears beyond mentioning and makes only one cameo in My God, What Have We Done?. In We Were Torn By Pride, she leaves Decelis Academy to search for her childhood friend Chris. She does eventually appear in the bonus chapter.
  • Parental Title Characterization:
    • in Nothing Is The Same Anymore, Solon had referred to his deceased parents as "Mom" and "Dad" when they meet in Solon's dream. It shows how grateful he is for the sacrifices they did for him and how much he loves them, even if their time together was brief.
    • Solon's own daughter refers to him as "Papa" and "Daddy" for her other father Enzy, one half is because she seems pretty close to them both and another half is because it's just adorable like she is.
  • Parting-Words Regret: What were the last things Solon heard from his brothers before he ran off?
"I can't believe you're half-mutt! After everything we've been through, the fact that you lied hurts just as much!"
"So when you went missing that day, what were you doing, huh? Hunting animals for lunch? Howling at the moon for no reason?"
"And to think I considered you a brother."
  • Patchwork Kids: Solon is mentioned to look more like his mom Selene with his blue hair and blue right eye, facial features and even personality. Plus, their wolf forms are also similar-looking, the only difference being Solon's left eye color and lighter blue tones. But he has some traits of his father Apollo, like his left eye color, eye shape, Big Ol' Eyebrows and pale skin, and they were enough for Khan to say that he looks more like a pure vampire than an actual hybrid. Even his name is a mix of theirs.
  • Pet the Dog: For all their Aloof Big Brother tendencies with Solon (except Jino and Noa), they have shown numerous times that they care about him.
  • Plot-Mandated Friendship Failure: In Coming Out, Solon reveals to the vampires of his wolf-half. Predictably, they (mostly Heli, Jaan and Jakah, the other half was silent) reacted angrily. They said things that upset Solon so badly it made him run off crying... and vulnerable to kidnapping.
  • Positive Friend Influence: Even before they realized they were in love, Enzy always brought the best out of Solon.
  • Pretty Boy: Solon, whose looks are praised by many multiple times, especially by Enzy. His beauty does have some drawbacks like unwanted admirers, though.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: Just when readers think that Darkest Hour has already shown just how vile Richard is, Solon gets raped by him near the end, and he blackmails the poor boy into letting him.
  • Rage Breaking Point: In Nothing Is The Same Anymore, Solon seemed pretty pissed upon encountering his brothers following previous events. But he didn't lose it until Jaan accuses Solon of "acting out" out of jealousy with Sooha, which made Solon go feral and attack Jaan, and with his mindset at the moment, he most likely would've ripped him to pieces had he not remembered what he did to Noa when he saw the fear in Jaan's eyes.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Solon didn't seem to mind getting the princess role in the game Neoma made up. It's also implied deep down, he likes to get pampered like a princess by Enzy.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Solon gives one to his brothers for their overall mistreatment towards him.
Solon: I'm sorry for attacking Jaan, but at the same time, not really. You all hurt me, some by action (he stares at Heli, Jaan and Jakah) And some by inaction. (Solon's gaze drifts to Jino, Shion and Noa) My boyfriend only told you guys he was dating me both because he can't lie and out of fear you'd kill him for being a werewolf. You're family, no doubt, but... I can't excuse your mistakes. It was unspoken, but there was two choices. Me, the unfavorite brother, or Sooha, the new girl with super strength and prettiness. You all chose her. You never said it out loud, but you picked her over me. And that stung, I mean, dogs like me are supposed to be undyingly loyal to their families, right?
  • Related in the Adaptation: The bonus chapter reveals that Solon is the grandson of the canon Webtoon's Big Bad Dardan in this story.
  • Relationship Upgrade: In Coming Out, Enzy and Solon confess their feelings for each other and become a couple. In the epilogue, their relationship upgrades again when it's mentioned that they're married and mated.
  • The Reveal:
    • Go Big Or Go Home reveals hunters are aware of Solon's existence and want to capture him.
    • In-Universe example for the vampires when they learn about Solon's werewolf heritage.
    • Darkest Hour reveals more of Solon's past. And it's a really sad one.
    • Tying Loose Ends drops something huge: Solon is Dardan's grandson!
  • Rule of Three:
    • Solon had suffered from a total of three nightmares in the story.
    • Enzy's three brothers were the first to ship Enzy and Solon together.
    • Three of Solon's brothers didn't take learning about his werewolf half too well.
    • It took Khan three armor-piercing questions to convince the vampires to team up with the werewolves.
    • Solon learned more of his parents from three different people: Richard, the people themselves (mostly his mom), and his uncle Magnus.
    • Mend The Bond and We Were Torn By Pride had Solon reconcile and bond with three of his brothers in each of those two chapters.
  • Significant Reference Date: It's mentioned in the author's notes that in this adaptation, the vampires have the same birthdays as the ENHYPEN members that they're based on, instead of sharing the same birthday.
  • Significant Birth Date: Neoma's information chapter reveals that her birthday (September 6) was on the same day her fathers Enzy and Solon met.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Solon, especially when he's mad. It lessens as his Character Development goes on, but it briefly comes back on some occasions, the most notable one is when he calls out his brothers for years of what is basically mistreatment.
  • Shipper on Deck: The werewolves really like the thought of Enzy and Solon getting together. They were ecstatic when they were told that Enzy and Solon are now boyfriends.
Tahel: Finally! My ship is official!
    • After some much needed Character Development, the vampires become this as well, noting of how well Enzy treats Solon and how perfect they are together. When they leave for their jobs a few years later, they let Solon stay with the werewolves because they felt that Solon would be more miserable if he wasn't with Enzy than if he wasn't with them. Shion in particular was this even before he knew of Enzy's identity and before Solon and Enzy got together.
  • Shout-Out: The author seems to like referencing stuff:
    • Go Big Or Go Home is named after the ENHYPEN song of the same name.
    • In One Of The Wolves, the author briefly mentions in the notes that the dynamic of the wolves was similar to the Ninja Turtles. There was also mentions of Star One from Star Seekers, a comic based on TXT.
    • The author admits at the ending notes for Darkest Hour that elements from Solon's background were loosely based on stuff like The Promised Neverland, with the caretakers being named after two prominent females, and the childhood of Malia (who coincidentally is also a vampire-werewolf hybrid), the protagonist of La Luna Sangre with Richard even named after the actor of the show's antagonist.
    • The two chapters where Solon reconciles with his brothers are a reference to the way to break a curse in Brave: "Mend the bond, torn by pride".
    • Solon's parents have been compared to Romeo and Juliet a few times.
    • Mend The Bond mentions 7Fates: CHAKHO, the BTS comic as a Animesque show.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Solon's parents, a vampire and a werewolf named Apollo and Selene, who had a very Romeo and Juliet-esque romance, complete with a faked suicide (albeit, unlike Romeo and Juliet their plan was successful). They ran off to a provincial area and had Solon, becoming mortal when they gave up their powers to save a stillborn Solon's life. However, a few months after Solon's birth, hunters found them, and while Solon was carried off to safety, they were killed in the process.
    • Heli and Sooha clearly have feelings for each other, but unlike Solon and Enzy, they never used their chance to act upon them due to the things that have been happening. To add more pain, just when Heli is finally gonna confess... Sooha announces her departure from Decelis to search for Chris.
    • Thankfully, it wasn't the case with Solon and Enzy. For all their hardships, it made their love stronger, not weaker, and they end the story engaged and later on, married and with a daughter.
  • Strong Family Resemblance:
    • Although Solon has a balanced amount of traits from his parents, dialogue from people who knew his parents (like his uncle) say that he looks like his mom more. Solon even notes how much her face looks like his the first time he sees her.
    • Solon's father and uncle are said to look exactly the same. Then again, they're also said to be twins.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: Downplayed. While the vampires and werewolves have willingly teamed up in canon continuities, here Solon actually become friends with the Sunshine City werewolves, even becoming Enzy's boyfriend and is a member of their pack by the epilogue.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: When they all found out Solon was kidnapped by hunters, Enzy suggests an alliance with the vampires so they have better odds at saving him. Despite everyone being clearly unhappy about it, the werewolves in particular acting extra hostile to the vampires (because they learned of what they did to Solon prior and are pissed as hell over it) and a few other complications, they actually worked pretty well together, from having managed to find the hunters' location, save Solon and got him out before Richard could go after him, to even killing the hunters' leader with teamwork. Bonus points for the chapter where this happens even having a similar name to the Trope Namer.
  • Terms of Endangerment: Richard likes to call Solon "little one" even when he's tormenting him.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Solon went from having no clue about his werewolf half to both sides being on equal levels fairly quickly. He was even able to defeat a group of vampires in his werewolf form while woozy from getting drugged.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Finding friends in the werewolves severely toned down Solon's jerkish traits and let his heart of gold shine brightly.
    • It took Solon's kidnapping and team-up with their Sunshine City rivals for the rest of Decelis vampires to drop their Aloof Big Brother act against Solon.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Solon receives his mother's necklace, which was a gift from his father as an expression of love, as a birthday gift from his uncle. He wears it for the rest of the story, even developing a Character Tic where he grabs it when in distress.
  • Transformation Horror: Solon's first werewolf transformation... hurt a lot, to put ot simply.
  • Trauma Button: Solon has a panic attack in Tying Loose Ends when he sees Marge, who has platnium blonde hair and light silver eyes, exactly like Richard.
  • Trauma Conga Line: Poor, poor Solon goes through a lot in the story.
  • Tsundere: Solon, like in canon, is Harsh Type: Often angry, but gets easily flustered. One example perfectly showing this is where he punches Enzy in the chest after hugging him. He also describes Enzy as "stupidly charismatic." After Character Development, he becomes more of the Sweet Type.
  • Twirl of Love: Enzy does this with Solon they found the latter's childhood home.
  • Undressing the Unconscious: Played for Drama in Darkest Hour, where Solon discovers he's wearing nothing but a shirt, and freaks out, realizing his death isn't the only thing that'll happen to him.
  • Understanding Boyfriend: Even before their Relationship Upgrade, Enzy is shown to be nothing but sincere, caring and supportive to Solon. And until Solon befriended his brothers Enzy was the only one who cared so much for him.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • Like in canon, though by a different person, Shion gets called out for leaving Sooha alone.
    • Khan calls the vampires out for their negative reactions to Solon's wolf-half.
"That's what I thought." Khan said. But there was no arrogance, or happiness that he was right, just pure anger at them for what they've done.
    • Solon gets his chance to call the vampires not once but twice in Nothing Is The Same Anymore and Mend The Bond.
  • When He Smiles: When Solon smiles in front of Enzy for the first time, Enzy thought it was so beautiful it rivaled the beauty of the moon. Even Shion thinks Solon's smile is adorable.
Shion: I see him sometimes after their dates, beaming with pink cheeks! It's soooo cute!
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Najak and Tahel often bicker, but it's clear they consider each other family.

  • A Day in the Limelight: Noa is the protagonist this time, and the whole story centers on him finding love again.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Dani often calls Noa "Grimace" (as in the McDonald's mascot) and the reason why is because Noa wasn't in a good mood when they met and the similar purple hair.
  • Affection-Hating Kid: Although he's not a teenager anymore, Jakah still finds romance disgusting. Saying the word "love" was enough to make him gag.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: In their childhood, Noa wishes that he'd get more time with Solon. Then on the day Solon is supposed to be adopted the orphanage is suddenly on fire.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Combined with Beware the Quiet Ones. Noa is a sweet and timid young man, but he was able to take on three experienced vampire hunters on and win in seconds (plus actually killing one). Even Dani was surprised by how badass Noa was.
  • Genre Savvy: Despite clearly hating romance with a passion, Jakah is aware of all the romance tropes when Noa insists that there's nothing between him and Dani beyond friendship.
  • He Cleans Up Nicely: While Solon is already a desirable Pretty Boy, he looks stunning when he gets dolled up for his wedding, with his Messy Hair elegantly styled in a braid and light makeup on his face.
The white suit made him look (even more) like an angel.
  • Love at First Sight: Noa immediately falls for Solon as soon as he first sees him. To be fair, he was seven at the time.
  • Meet Cute: Noa meets Dani by accidentally bumping into them while on his way to work.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Dani says the reason why they aren't mad at Noa for hiding his vampire heritage from them is because they know from experience on what it's like to hide a part of themself from their loved ones.
  • Queer Establishing Moment: Jakah off-handedly mentions being an aromantic asexual while chatting with Noa about his love problems. Noa's Love Interest Dani is later revealed to be non-binary.
  • Skewed Priorities:

  • Adaptational Badass: Not only does Solon have an ability of Power Copying (as shown with him using Jakah and Jino's abilities), he can also use said ability in his werewolf form.
  • Bait-and-Switch: For a moment, it seems like Enzy and Solon didn't make it, not helped when the pack hears a scream. But much to everyone's relief, they're perfectly fine. They just captured the leader of the hunters.
  • Battle Couple: Solon and Enzy (who are now an engaged couple) easily defeat the leader of the hunters together and take her to all the captured werewolves so they can have their revenge.
  • Big Damn Reunion: The pack has this after Camil and Ruslan came out alright.
  • Black Comedy: The karmic murder of the hunters' leader is Played for Laughs.
  • Bloodier and Gorier: Compared to My Deepest, Darkest Secret, this one-shot has more mentions of violence and death.
  • Call-Back:
    • Khan mentions that it's been 4 months since they last encountered vampire hunters.
    • Solon and Enzy have been mentioned to be engaged.
    • Solon talks about his time with the Blood Moon hunters, and stops before he talked about the worst thing Richard did to him.
  • Commonality Connection: One of the things Camil and Solon bond over was being imprisoned by vampires for a time.
  • Cool Old Guy: One of the recently freed werewolves is a very old man, who is revealed to have a job in officiating true mate pairings, and plans to do so for Enzy and Solon when they get married as a token of gratitude. He also plans on traveling the entire world after he gets his licks in on the leader of the hunters.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Kinda literally, as the first thing all the captured werewolves do is murder all the hunters that imprisoned, abused and experimented on them. Enzy and Solon felt like they all deserved to feel happy for jumping at the choice to kill the leader.
  • Famed In-Story: Solon's mother Selene is revealed to be considered a legend amongst the werewolves, both in a positive light thanks to being the most powerful werewolf ever, and a negative light due to her romance with a vampire.
  • Fantastic Racism: Camil, Mahan and Luka were briefly wary of Solon due to him being half-vampire. Solon healing Mahan's injury and helping with Camil and Ruslan's rescue changed their minds about him.
  • Immediate Sequel: The story seems to take place a month after Solon's 18th birthday, based on Solon and Enzy being engaged.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Camil is hot-headed and distrustful of Solon purely out of racism, but he's a loving and protective brother (especially to Ruslan) and that brotherly love eventually extended to Solon after some bonding with him, even happy with the hybrid being his brother-in-law soon.
  • Retcon: Luka and Louis are said to still be missing in a bonus chapter of first story, but was changed here, as Luka and Louis appear here perfectly fine.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The story's name is lyrics from TWICE's song "I GOT YOU".
    • Tahel breaking Camil and Ruslan along with the other captured werewolves out of the cells is similar to the way Nimona broke Ballister out of his cell.
