The many kaiju that inhabit the earth, and beyond.

    open/close all folders

     Tropes Shared by All Kaiju
  • Acceptable Breaks from Reality: The monsters are able to function because of Yamaneon.
  • Applied Phlebotinum: Yamaneon is a mineral that can manipulate and defy gravity, promote the growth of cells through self-replication, create and amplify energy, and create Kaiju. It is also an intelligent sentient life form with its own will.
  • Badass Normal: Most Kaiju only have physical abilities, lacking super powers.
  • Blood Knight: Kaiju seem to enjoy fighting, friendly or not The second volume reveals that this is mostly due to the Yamaneon that forms them encouraging them to do so in order to get stronger.
  • Eating Optional: The monsters don't have to eat or drink once they reach maximum size, being able to get all the energy they need from Yamaneon. Most of the time, they eat either for comfort or pleasure.
  • Gem Tissue: Their cells contain Yamaneon, as detailed above.
  • Healing Factor: Most of the creatures can regrow limbs, and it takes just a few hours for a Kaiju to fully recover from injuries.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Too many to list off, but most of the kaiju get along well.
  • Immortal Procreation Clause: Because of atomic sterility, Kaiju tend to have trouble procreating. Retrosaurs seem to have an easier time of it, judging by Tyrantis and Tricerak's successes.
  • It Can Think: Many of the kaiju demonstrate a surprising amount of intelligence, something that shocks almost everyone. This includes the ability to form complex relationships with each other, as well as interact with the world in a variety of curious ways.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Almost all Kaiju are this due to the extreme durability, strength, and ability to move faster than is possible for their size. Once again, the Yamaneon is responsible for this.
  • Make My Monster Grow: The creatures are able to grow through atomic fossilization thanks to the Yamaneon. The process can either take thousands of years or be triggered by a massive energy source such as a nuclear bomb.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: The vast majority of the kaiju are perfectly content to stay away from humanity, and some even befriend the humans and each other without any trouble. Sure, they're all dangerous in their own right, but at least they don't all attack everything on instinct.
  • Nuclear Mutant: A lot of the kaiju wouldn't be as big as they are if their growth wasn't accelerated by the atomic bomb tests that triggered the Superquake.
  • The Symbiote: To the Yamaneon, the sentient Apploied Phlebotinum that gave them their power and size.
  • Taken for Granite: Upon death, the monsters turn into Yamaneon.

Kaiju debuting in Volume 1

    Tyrantis
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1_tyrantis_7.png
Lord of Leviathans, King of Typhon Island, Big Green

A Retrosaur that resembles the fictional Manospondylus Gigas, albeit much bigger. Despite his intimidating size and appearance, he's one of the most curious and most affable kaiju around. Eager to explore and perhaps make new friends, Tyrantis is trailed by Lerna and company as they all bear witness to the rise of the atomic age of monsters.

  • All-Loving Hero: Tyrantis always spares a thought for even the tiniest of creatures. In fact, there doesn't seem to be a single creature he ISN'T willing to try befriending at first.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Friendly as he is, if you cross any lines with him, you're really in for it.
  • Big Good: The defacto hero kaiju of the story, hence the title.
  • Blithe Spirit: Of a sort. A lot of the kaiju he meets/faces off against end up friendlier, or at the very least tamer, than they were when he met them. This includes Tyranta, Tricerak, and even the Martian aliens.
  • Blood Knight: Tyrantis stands out as being the one most eager to get into fights, though he's mostly just looking for a fun sparring match most of the time.
  • Breath Weapon: He can breathe fire.
  • Disney Death: Several, particularly at the end of Volume 1, the middle of Volume 2, and the climactic battle against Pathogen.
  • Dumb Is Good: Described as being not the brightest kaiju around, but by far the most heroic.
  • Expy: Of Godzilla. Though his friendliness to humans and more anthropomorphic traits call to mind both the late Showa series, and Gamera. His name is even a portmanteau of Tyrannosaurus Rex and a lesser nickname of Godzilla, Gigantis.
  • Fearless Fool: Tyrantis' strategy most of the time is to go headlong into battle with not much of a plan or understanding of its opponent's intentions. He's not completely idiotic though, as he can plan in the midst of a fight.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Regards almost every being he meets as a potential friend, even humans!
  • Furry Reminder: Every so often, he'll roll his arms in a circular motion to communicate in a mostly friendly manner, similar to how some lizards do. Other means of communications include letting out low bellows, bobbing his head, and waving his tail around.
  • Gentle Giant: His first instinct upon seeing a human for the first time? Immediately try to figure out how to calm her down (with little success). In fact, of all the kaiju, Tyrantis is one of the friendliest.
  • Guile Hero: Despite looking like a fool at times, he is capable of strategizing the best way to approach foes, usually during the middle of a fight.
  • Heroic BSoD: Has a major one when it seems like he'll never see Tyranta again after the cave is sealed up.
  • Happily Married: With Tyranta, his mate.
  • Intrigued by Humanity: Tyrantis can't get enough of the small mammals all around him, especially Lerna, whom he develops a huge fascination for in the time they spend together.
  • Not Zilla: Comes with being a big fire-breathing lizard.
  • Odd Friendship: Every single friendship he forms can be considered this, especially the connection he has with Lerna.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: It's rather jarring to see just how much he hates the Terror, even after it's put near-death. Then again, it was that malicious kaiju's fault he was separated from Tyranta at that point.
  • Ship Tease: Canon relationship with Tyranta notwithstanding, there are several scenes of him and Bobo getting along exceptionally well. To give you an idea, he met her while she was tending to his wounds and refusing to let him leave until he was patched up. Also, he allows her to babysit Tyrantor.
  • Shout-Out: Take a guess. More specifically, he seems to have a lot of the mannerisms of the late Showa-era Godzilla, albeit with the anthropomorphic traits taken up to eleven. Word of God has stated that, in terms of personality, Tyrantis takes several cues from Grimlock, Devil Dinosaur, Gon, and even Son Goku. His fighting style, meanwhile, is partially inspired by Heart.
  • Super Mode: He gets super powers from Yamaneon, allowing him to breathe white-hot fire freely, as well as heal, invigorate, and resurrect Kaiju with Yamaneon energy pulses. All his spikes, talons and horns become pure Yamaneon crystal. Doubles as an 11th-Hour Superpower and a Heroic Second Wind.
  • T. Rexpy: He's a giant, spiky take on archaic depictions of tripodal tyrannosaurs.

    Ahuul
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2_ahuul.png
The Menace of Makeout Point, the Generiton Slasher

A vicious pterosaur-like Retrosaur, Ahuul rose from the Underground Valley around the same time Tyrantis did in Generiton, Montana. Unlike him, however, he reveled in terrorizing the humans and trying to eat as many as possible. He is a frequent menace to both man and kaiju thanks to his sadistic streak and ravenous appetite.

  • Butt-Monkey: He's pointed out as having never won a fight, and gets beaten up and/or scared off almost every time he shows up. That changes when he defeats Podritak.
  • Dirty Coward: He will immediately fold if a fight isn't in his favor.
  • Expy: Of Rodan. Though his mannerisms and personality are more akin to the Gyaos. His Heel–Face Turn in Volume 2 is inspired by Kumonga (both worked with former foes to fight aliens).
  • Fatal Flaw: His sadism. If he weren't such a bloodthirsty monster, he wouldn't keep getting into fights he has no hope of winning.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Despite being a resident of Typhon Island, nobody can stand Ahuul due to his horrible disposition.
  • Heel–Face Turn: In Volume 2, Ahuul joins the forces of good, presumably to avoid Tyranta's wrath.
  • Hell Is That Noise: Emits a horrible shriek that he actually gets his name from.
  • Hungry Menace: Treats the town of Generiton like an endless buffet.
  • Meaningful Name: Aside from being named after the awful shriek he lets out, he's actually named after the Ahool, an Indonesian cryptid often described as looking like a pterosaur.
  • The Prankster: A rather mean-spirited variant. Word of God states that Ahuul likes to mess with the other kaiju and start conflicts.
  • The Rival: Before he's thrown out of this position by the Terror, he's this to Tyrantis, having fought him many times before the Superquake over territory.
  • Sadist: His entire combat style. He relishes in causing as much pain as possible for both opponent and prey.
  • Smug Snake: Confident and monstrous until he's backed into a corner.
  • Starter Villain: The first kaiju that Tyrantis faces.
  • Terror-dactyl: Ahuul is a gigantic, aggressive pterosaur-like monster with a toothy beak, clawed wings, eagle-like talons, and both a crest and a long tail. The inaccuracies are intentional, as he is a kaiju and directly based off of outdated depictions of pterosaurs.
  • Tired of Running: After nearly being beaten by Podritak, he overcomes his fear of laser beams and decides to put his Dirty Coward tendencies away in order to win the fight, which he does.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Although he lives on Typhon Island with the rest of the good kaiju, he's not particularly liked by anyone due to his voracious appetite and sadistic personality.
  • To Serve Man: His first scene in Volume 1 is him trying to eat as many humans as he can.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: His Curb-Stomp Battle at the hands of MechaTyrantis involved laser beams, which becomes a problem when Podritak uses some. He gets over it just in time to score a victory.
  • Would Hurta Child: Tried to Inflict this on Tyrantor as a means of demoralizing the hatchling's father. The little one's parent and Tricerak made him regret that.

     Myrmidants
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3a_myrmidant_6.png
Myrmidant, The Things, Those Big Goddamn Ants, Them, Asset Myrmidons
Achillant
Ajaxant
Herant

A horde of ants mutated by the Yamaneon located within the deserts of Yucca Flats, Nevada that got caught in a nuclear blast. As they did before, they follow a strict caste system in which there are the soldiers (Myrmidants), warriors (Achillants and Ajaxants), and the queen (Herant).

  • Androcles' Lion: The Myrmidant colony allows Tyrantis to pass through their underground nest due to remembering how he saved their queen from Girtabane.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Achillants can observe their foes for any potential weaknesses. Rather fitting for ants named after a warrior undone by a keen eye himself.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Big creepy ants, to be exact.
  • Brains and Brawn: The Achillant is an analyzer while the Ajaxant deals in brute strength.
  • Elite Mook: Ajaxants and Achillants make up the warrior caste, and are much more heavily built than the cannon fodder Myrmidants.
  • Expy: Of the giant ants from Them!.
  • Heel–Face Turn: In Volume 2, after most of them escape Area 51 alongside the other major arthropod kaiju.
  • Hell Is That Noise: Emit a strange chittering call as they attack, not unlike their cinematic inspiration.
  • Honor Before Reason: An Achillant and Ajaxant defend their queen from Girtabane despite being outmatched, getting the latter killed.
  • Insect Queen: The Herant. Befitting her inspiration, she's enormous compared to her subjects.
  • Theme Naming: The different ant types are named after figures in Homer's The Iliad. In order:
    • Myrmidants -> Myrmidons, the warriors led by the legendary general Achilles.
    • Achillants -> Achilles, the aforementioned great general.
    • Ajaxants -> Ajax the Great, a warrior often considered Achilles' equal.
    • Herant -> Hera, Queen of the Gods and the biggest supporter of the aforementioned warriors.
  • The Swarm: You see one, odds are many more are behind it.
  • Undying Loyalty: Towards their queen, obviously.

    Girtabane
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4_girtabane.png
The Black Scorpion, Asset Girtab

A scorpion-like arthropod from Yucca Flats, Nevada, Girtabane menaced the humans around the same time the Myrmidants did, albeit her presence was far more concerning. She is not particularly nice, and will often bully weaker creatures into submission. But despite her arrogance, she holds few grudges, and admires those who have bested her.

  • Attack the Tail: Tyrantis rips the stinger off her tail during their fight.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Like any scorpion, she has a giant venomous barbed tail. Tyrantis gets rid of it, forcing her to let it heal for a while
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: She's a giant scorpion-like monster.
  • The Bully: She likes to attack kaiju she perceives as weaker.
  • Expy: Of The Black Scorpion, right down to having the same nickname and a Nightmare Face similar to the one her inspiration did. Unlike that one though, it's less humanoid. Word of God states that another inspiration was Sasori, a scorpion-like kaiju featured only in the young adult Godzilla books by Scott Ciencin.
  • Heel–Face Turn: In Book 2, after escaping Area 51 alongside most of the other arthropod kaiju.
  • Multiple-Choice Past: It is unknown if Girtabane was mutated by radiation like the Myrmidants or was living in the Yamaneon tunnels. She rises right after Clark calls an air raid on the Myrmidant nest, so she clearly has a history with the smaller arthropods.
  • Odd Friendship: After an initial scuffle, she has formed a sort of friendship circle with Chlorespa and Mantiresia.
  • Poisonous Person: Has a venomous sting.
  • Scary Scorpions: She's a big one, and she has a rather gnarly face on top of a bad attitude.
  • Shock and Awe: She can channel electricity through her claws.
  • Stellar Name: She's named after a star in the Scorpio constellation, as well as the Sumerian word for Scorpion, "Girtab".

    Tyranta
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5_tyranta1.png
The Bride of Tyrantis, Queen of Typhon Island, Tyrant Lizard Queen

Living in the Underground Valley much like Tyrantis, Tyranta is a female member of a similar species known as Dynamosaurus Imperiosis. However, she is twice as aggressive, and will often resort to violence if she's pushed too far. Despite this, Tyrantis fell head-over-claws in love with her, and, eventually, the feelings were reciprocated.

  • Action Girl: Not only is she good at standing her ground, she's absolutely brutal when she wants to be.
  • Breath Weapon: She can breathe fire.
  • Distaff Counterpart: Looks a lot like Tyrantis, is a part of his clade, and becomes his mate.
  • Expy: Of Ogra, the mother monster that wrecks London to save her son, Gorgo.
  • Happily Married: Is the proud mate of Tyrantis.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: She's generally more aggressive and less friendly than her mate.
  • Made of Iron: It's saying something that it took just about ALL of MechaTyrantis' power to bring her down during their fight, and it didn't even kill her.
  • Mama Bear: Harm Tyrantor at your own risk. Ahuul can tell you all about it.
  • Monster Is a Mommy: She's the mother of Tyrantor.
  • Red Is Heroic: Unlike Tyrantis, she's mostly colored blood-red, another indicator of her Hot-Blooded nature.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Part of the reason she chooses Tyrantis over the Terror is because the former chooses to spare Tricerak after their fight, showing her that he has a sense of honor unlike the Dirty Coward Terror.
  • Not Zilla: Just like her mate.
  • T. Rexpy: She's a giant, spiky take on archaic depictions of tripodal tyrannosaurs.

    The Terror, MechaTyrantis
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6a_the_terror.png
Tyrantis' Rival, the Blue Tyrantis
Mecha Tyrantis
Super Mecha Tyrantis

Another member of Tyrantis' species. But this one is everything our green hero isn't. Violent, sadistic, and prone to hurting everyone in his path, the Terror is an appropriate name for the one kaiju Tyrantis can barely stand. But circumstances led to the Terror being nearly killed, captured by humans, and turned into the cybernetic abomination known as MechaTyrantis, which was designed to kill kaiju. After that failed, he was upgraded into Super MechaTyrantis, now more machine than beast.

  • Abhorrent Admirer: He's been trying to court Tyranta for a long time, with no success.
  • And I Must Scream: Being turned into MechaTyrantis results in his consciousness being trapped in what feels like an endless nightmare in which he can feel the pain of being taken apart and put back together, as well as having a separate mind intrude on his thoughts. Eventually, he manages to take over entirely, killing his pilot in the process.
  • Back from the Dead: After coming back as MechaTyrantis.
  • Breath Weapon: He can breathe fire.
  • But Now I Must Go: After Tyrantis restores his fully organic body at the end of Volume 2, the two share a look of acceptance, and he goes off to live underground, having accepted that he'll never be Tyrantis' equal or even friend.
  • Dirty Coward: He knows he's not the best fighter, so he resorts to foul play and cheap shots to get his way.
  • Expy: Of the various incarnations of MechaGodzilla. In particular, Cyber Godzilla from Godzilla: The Series.
  • Not Zilla: Same as Tyrantis, before becoming a Not-MECHA-Zilla.
  • The Rival: To Tyrantis, being his nastier, more violent equal.
  • Sore Loser: He doesn't take Tyranta choosing Tyrantis over him well at all, and pretty much dedicates the rest of his life to making his rival miserable from that moment on.
  • Suddenly Voiced: After being defeated in Volume 1, his consciousness takes over for the first time, and he has one thing to say to his pilot before pemenantly getting rid of him.
    GET. OUT.
  • Taking You with Me: Attempts to drag Tyrantis into the ocean as they plummet out of the sky. Neither die from this.
  • Tired of Running: During the final battle, MechaTyrantis decides to stop being a Dirty Coward in the face of certain death by Pathogen, and unleashes his full arsenal on the abomination.
  • T. Rexpy: He starts out as a giant, spiky take on archaic depictions of tripodal tyrannosaurs, before becoming a cyborg version of this.
  • Running Gag: A rather dark one. Every single pilot in MechaTyrantis perishes when the Terror takes over and blows up the cockpit.
  • Unwilling Roboticisation: Getting made into MechaTyrantis is a nightmare for him, forcing him to share a different consciousness and feel the loss of his body parts.
  • Unrobotic Reveal: During the fight against Pathogen in Siberia, the upgraded MechaTyrantis is revealed to be no less organic than he was before being salvaged from the sea.
  • We Can Rebuild Him: The Spooks Organization salvages his near-dead body to make MechaTyrantis.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He kills Tricerak's baby in order to get an easy win for Tyranta, who's understandably disgusted at how he went for low-hanging fruit in his desperation.

    Tricerak
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7_tricerak_0.png
The Drunken Kaiju

A belligerent herbivorous mutant Retrosaur belonging to the species Agathaumasaurus sylvestris. Tricerak is the way he is mostly due to being the only one of his kind, a fact that causes him no end of grief. To cope with this, he often eats potent soma berries that cause him to become disoriented and rather irritable. Despite this, Tyrantis still attempts to reach out to him.

  • Children Raise You: His interactions with Tyrantor tend to bring out the best in him.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: After a while, Tricerak warms up to his newfound kaiju neighbors, to the point where Tyrantor can ride on his back without any trouble.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: He's quick to reject Tyrantis' attempts at comforting him at first, mostly because of how much he looks like the Terror.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: He consumes berries to achieve a drunken state mostly because of how depressed he is.
  • Drunken Master: Sort of. His excess berry consumption results in an unpredicable fighting style, but smarter opponents can work around this by letting him tire himself out.
  • Expy: Of Anguirus, particularly how his relationship with Tyrantis mirrors the former's with Godzilla (enemies at first, friends later).
  • Friend to All Children: Due to him losing his kid, he allows other child kaiju to be around him, or at least Tyrantor, despite him being a Paleo Tyrant.
  • Heroic BSoD: When his baby is killed by the Terror, he pretty much shuts down when he's not lashing out in anger at Tyrantis, and drowns his sorrows in intoxicating berries.
  • Last of His Kind: More pronounced than usual with this one. Tricerak's kind is of a herd mentality. Without a herd, he's consistently stressed and lonely.
  • Meaningful Name: His species name is based explicitly of Agathaumus, the first ceratopsian to be fully described, though it is now considred a dubious species to the point of pushing it into obscurity. It was very popular in old paleo-media.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Looks like a cross between a Triceratops and an unnamed spiky Ankylosaur.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: The Terror kills his child while he's fighting Tyrantis, causing him to spiral into depression.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: His fierce temper and drunken fighting is the result of years of being the only one of his kind AND losing his kid, with the emotional toll that entails.
  • Temper-Ceratops: A ceratopsian kaiju that often gets into fights due to his grumpy and drunken nature.

    Gorgolisk
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_po29devyby1r6c2kwo9_1280.png
The Serpent Queen, Hypnosnake

A serpentine kaiju found at the Serpent Temple, a remote place built almost explicitly for her. Like Tyrantis, she is very friendly to most creatures, and is remarkably intelligent to boot. Sure enough, this makes her a good confidant for the Retrosaur kaiju.

  • Awesomeness by Analysis: She's smart enough to figure out a foe's strengths and weaknesses with no trouble at all most of the time.
  • Expy: Of Manda. Personality-wise, she combines elements of Mothra and King Caesar.
  • Genius Bruiser: Gorgolisk is equal parts calculating and battle-ready, rarely retreating from a fight.
  • Gentle Giant: One of the few "safe" kaiju.
  • Giant Animal Worship: Our heroes discover a temple dedicated almost solely to her.
  • The Great Serpent: And she's worshipped as such.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: She and Tyrantis become close friends after the incident on Party Beach.
  • Hypnotic Creature: Her frill can change colors to a near-psychedelic degree. This is often used to her advantage.
  • Poisonous Person: Her fangs are packed with potent venom, though she does have to keep track of how much she has in store most of the time.
  • Punny Name: Henry combines the words Gorgon and Basilisk (both serpentine mythological beasts) together to name her.

    Mothmanud
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_inline_ogt7agx2ta1r2mmlv_1280.png
The Conquerworm, The Wings of Grim Portent

A mysterious kaiju that starts out as a huge grub before turning into a beast that stretches the definition of arthropod.

  • Compelling Voice: It can emit a soothing sound to lull targets into a false sense of security.
  • Gasshole: Its larval stage can emit a gas that greatly irritates foes.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Aside from its kind becoming the main foot soldier for the Beyonder Alliance, the original Mothmanud shows up to fight Gorgolisk during the final battle. It loses once again.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Mothmanud is in truth the first taste of the Beyonder threat that takes center-stage in Volume 2.
  • Horde of Alien Locusts: The Beyonders awaken a whole army of Mothmanud larva they put beneath the Earth in Volume 2, which wreck major cities and fight the kaiju.
  • The Mothman: A very clear homage to the cryptid, this one is.
  • Psychic Powers: Several, particularly the "terror Vision" attack, in which it's piercing red gaze sends humans into a blind panic. It can also manipulate foes into attacking each other.
  • Uncertain Doom: It crashes into the ocean after being pumped full of venom and beaten up too. Then it shows up with the rest of its kind to get beaten again in the final battle.
  • Zerg Rush: The army of Mothmanuds during the Final Battle assault all life on Earth this way.

    Bobo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_po29devyby1r6c2kwo10_1280.png
Asset Arachne

A giant tarantula-like kaiju found on the jungle island of Green Hell, Bobo at first looks quite intimidating. But in truth, she is among the most caring of kaiju, and will not hesitate to offer assistance to any being that she considers a friend, no matter how big or small. To this extent, the friendship between her and Tyrantis is instantaneous.

  • Berserk Button: Seeing the Beyonders terrorize Karamtor's baby sends Bobo into an uncharacteristic fury, and she makes short work of them afterwards.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She may be one of the most nurturning kaiju around, but she's still a kaiju, and that means anyone who dares harm innocent children aren't safe at all.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: A giant tarantula kaiju. Though "creepy" doesn't factor in here at all.
  • Expy: In appearance, one of Kumonga (a Giant Spider), though Word of God states that she's mostly based off the titular monster from Tarantula!. In personality, one of Mothra (an explicitly good arthropod kaiju).
  • Foil: To Chlorespa and Mantiresia, the other arthropod kaiju within Green Hell. While they play the deadly Big Creepy-Crawlies trope mostly straight, she's a complete aversion in terms of personality.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Cares for injured kaiju and regards humans with nothing but patience and curiosity.
  • Gentle Giant: Only Tyrantis compares to her caring attitude when it comes to most beings.
  • Giant Spider: And a surprisingly benevolent one too.
  • Martial Pacifist: Although she loathes to fight, she will not hesitate to use her sticky webs to subdue rogue kaiju.
  • The Medic: If a fellow kaiju is injured, she will rush to try and tend to them.
  • Meaningful Name: She's named after the titular character in the song "Boris the Spider" by The Who.
  • Nice Girl: She's the gentlest kaiju around.
  • Odd Name Out: Out of all the kaiju in the first volume, "Bobo" stands out as somewhat mundane and comical at the same time. Fittingly, it was Gwen who named her.
  • Pink Is Feminine
  • Reluctant Warrior: She's pacifistic to the point where she'll explicitly avoid combat whenever she can. That's not to say she can't stand her ground at times.
  • Running Gag: Her trying and failing to get Tyrantis to not approach inevitable danger.
  • Ship Tease: A very minor case with Tyrantis. Although he's mated to Tyranta, Bobo is one of the few other kaiju that has been intimate with him, particularly their first meeting in which she tended to his wounds while in Green Hell. As a bonus, she's pretty much Tyrantor's second mom/babysitter.

    Chlorespa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_po29devyby1r6c2kwo8_1280.png
Asset Chloris

A giant wasp-like kaiju found on the jungle island of Green Hell. Alongside Mantiresia, she is predatory by nature, and will not hesitate to prey on other kaiju. However, she's fairly middle of the road in terms of aggression, and is largely content with being alone and keeping herself prim and proper.

    Mantiresia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_po29devyby1r6c2kwo7_1280.png
The Deadly Mantis, Asset Tiresias

A giant mantis-like kaiju found on the jungle island of Green Hell. Although paired with Chlorespa, she takes a very different approach to hunting, preferring total silence before going in for the kill. Outside of combat, many kaiju are put off by her dour disposition, with the exception of some other arthropod kaiju.

    Crustakra
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/13_crustakra.png
Asset Cancer

A crab-like kaiju first seen not too far from Green Hell. Krustaka only ever attacks if things come too close to its turf, where it likes to build large sandy structures. Thankfully, it rarely leaves that which it considers its territory, so any savage beating it has in mind can be easily averted.

  • The Aloner: By kaiju standards, Crustaka is very anti-social.
  • Expy: Of Destoroyah's Aggregate form.
  • Giant Enemy Crab: What he looks like, for the most part.
  • Hidden Depths: Crustaka's sand sculptures seem to serve no other purpose than as a hobby for the kaiju. Whatever the case, it seems to take great pride in its constructions, and will attack anything that harms them.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Seems to be some odd combination of crustacean and reptile.

    Tyrantor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/14_tyrantor.png
Tyrantis Junior, Son of Tyrantis, Prince of Typhon Island

The son of Tyrantis and Tyranta. The little guy takes a lot from his old man, particularly his friendliness and curiosity. And sure enough, there's a little fighter in him just waiting to cut loose.

  • Blithe Spirit: Much like Tyrantis, he tends to bring out the best in the other kaiju (except Ahuul, of course).
  • Cheerful Child: Like his father, he's eternally optimistic, perhaps even moreso.
  • Children Are Innocent: He wouldn't be Tyrantis' kid if he weren't.
  • Expy: Of all of Godzilla's children, like Minya and Godzilla Junior.
  • Fearless Fool: Tyrantor is not one to back down from a fight nor deny a potential friendship. This puts him at risk of being hurt or even killed.
  • Guile Hero: As demonstrated in the final battle, Tyrantor can be quite strategic when he wants to be.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Inherits his father's physical appearence, as well as his friendly disposition and love of fighting.

    Crocogon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/15_crocogon1.png

A crocodilian Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.

  • Ascended Extra: Goes from being a side-character in the first volume to participating in some important fights in the second.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Although he doesn't start fights, he WILL end them. He'll make sure nobody thinks of jumping him twice with his powerful jaws and solar powers.
  • Face of a Thug: Despite looking rather vicious, he's one of the nicer Retrosaurs.
  • Gentle Giant: A kaiju of rather even temperment.
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: Surprisingly, he's a much tamer example than most would think.
  • The Power of the Sun: Crocogon's fins can absorb solar energy to either help him heat up or produce bursts of thermal radiation.

    Bronton
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_inline_oidiakym1s1r2mmlv_1280.png

A sauropod-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.

  • Big Eater: Bronton's only conerns are eating and sleeping.
  • Breath Weapon: It can emit thunderbolt breath.
  • Dumb Dinos: One of the few Retrosaur kaiju to play this straight. Goes hand-in-hand with Dumb Muscle.
  • Gentle Giant Sauropod: Plays this mostly straight, though his friendliness is more apathy to everything happening around him.
  • Giant Equals Invincible: To give you an idea, his kind was the largest species on Earth without any mutations. Very few creatures pick a fight with this one. And if they do, he hardly pays them any mind while thrashing them.
  • Sleepyhead: Due to his size, he often dozes off to harness more radiation.

    Pachydon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/17_pachydon.png

An ornithopod-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.

  • Graceful in Their Element: Despite being a lousy fighter, Pachydon is a very good swimmer, and he knows this.
  • Lethal Klutz: Due to being spooked easily, he might end up running through civilized areas in a panic.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Looks like a combination of outdated depictions of Ornithopod dinosaurs like Parasaurolophus, Hadrosaurus, and Iguanodon. He also has a hardened helmet-like head a la Pachycephelosaurus.
  • Nervous Wreck: Compared to most kaiju, Pachydon is rather anxious and prone to wanting to avoid fights.
  • Social Ornithopod: Like many Ornithopods, his horn is used for communicating and emmiting loud noises. Not only that, but the lack of his own kind makes him rather clingy to other kaiju.

    Stegronox
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/18_stegronox.png

An ankylosaur-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.

  • Boisterous Weakling: Sort of. He has very tough armor, and he uses it to scare off potential aggressors, but he's so unskilled in fighting that he uses his intimidating looks as a bluff.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Desires to be a part of what he considers a herd, but his irritating bluster and overly defensive disposition prevent this.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Combines elements of an ankylosaur and a stegosaur.
  • Paper Tiger: Despite looking and acting fierce, Stegronox is all bark and very little bite.
  • Tough Armored Dinosaur: An ankylosaur-like kaiju notable for its extremely tough defenses despite its middling combat skill.

    Metringar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/19_metringar.png

A plesiosaur-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.

  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Its "horns" are actually its nostrils, which it utilizes like a snorkel while swimming.
  • Foil: To Tyloton. Both are aquatic predators, but Metringar only attacks out of necesity while the other hunts for both food and pleasure. Also, Metringar is more equipped for amphibious living.
  • Gentle Giant: A very docile Retrosaur kaiju. However, it may mistake people for prey, so it's best to keep one's distance.
  • Stock Ness Monster: Explicitly based off of a popular depiction of Nessie having odd horn-like structures. Here, they're Metringar's nostrils. Sure enough, non-kaiju varients of this one were found in the Loch in-universe.
  • Team Switzerland: The most neutral when it comes to regular kaiju conflicts, though it is explictily benevolent.

    Tyloton
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20_tyloton.png

A tylosaur-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.

  • Blood Knight: The most bloodthirsty of Typhon Island's inhabitants. More times than not, it finds underwater predation not just fulfilling, but pleasure-inducing.
  • Foil: To Metrigar, another aquatic Retrosaur. Both are predatory and Graceful in Their Element, but Tyloton is far more ravenous and less inclined for moving on land. Metrigar took advantage of this, and subjected the other kaiju to a Curb-Stomp Battle, ensuring Tyloton gives it a wide berth.
  • Graceful in Their Element: Tyloton is one of the most aquatic Retrosaurs around. In the water, it's an unmatched apex predator. Outside, it's rather sluggish and awkward.
  • Super-Persistent Predator: If it starts a hunt, it will end it. Most likely in a violent manner.

    Allotor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/21_allotor.png

An Allosaurus-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.

    Cerator
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/22_cerator.png

A Ceratosaurus-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.

    Collosaraptor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_inline_oj2w9efep51r2mmlv_1280.png

A raptor-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.

  • Friendly Enemy: Despite constantly pranking Allotor and Certator, their scuffles never become too violent, and it seems like they're all in on the joke.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Her nimble build and sharp claws make her both quick and strong.
  • The Prankster: Frequently pulls jokes on every kaiju she comes across, especially Allotor and Cerator, to get a rise out of them.
  • Punny Name: Her name is a portmanteau of colossus and raptor. It also almost sounds like velociraptor.
  • Raptor Attack: Very much intentional. Collosaraptor is, like every other Retrosaur, based off inaccurate depictions of prehistoric reptiles. This means no feathers, pronated hands, etc. That being said, her kind is said to be closely related to birds.

Kaiju debuting in Volume 2

    Old Meg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/24_old_meg.png

An ocean-bound kaiju that resembles a sort of primitive placoderm fish. Old Meg is a nomadic sort, patrolling the oceans for potential prey. And for her, almost anything that crosses her path is on the menu.

  • Hair-Trigger Temper: She's just as violent and bloodthirsty as the sea monsters she most likely inspired.
  • Mighty Glacier: She has a bite that can shred through steel, though she is not the fastest swimmer around.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: She combines elements of sharks and Dunkleosteus, an apex predator of the Devonian period.
  • Sea Monster
  • Super-Persistent Predator: If she wants something dead or hurt badly, she won't let her slowness get in the way.
  • Threatening Shark: She certainly acts the part, though she's actually a placoderm.
  • Time Abyss: She's often considered to be one of the oldest kaiju on Earth.

    Kutulusca
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/25_kutulusca.png

A giant cephelopod kaiju. Despite coming from an aquatic ancestry, it is very much an amphibious sort. Not only that, but it is rather intelligent, and reacts to almost everything with curiosity. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to realize how strong it is, and ends up making more enemies than friends as a result.

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Will never hesitate to check new things out, even in the middle of a fight.
  • Bioluminescence Is Cool: Communicates through bioluminescent bulbs on its back.
  • Expy: Of Gezora.
  • It Can Think: As detailed everywhere else here, this isn't necessarily a good thing.
  • Giant Squid: Worse, an amphibious one.
  • Kraken and Leviathan: More kraken really.
  • Making a Splash: Its main weapon is the ability to shoot scalding pressurized water from its mouth.
  • Obliviously Evil: Reacts to everything with a sort of intelligent curiosity. However, much like a child takes apart insects to see how they work, its means of figuring things out are almost totally destructive and violent.
  • Wild Card: Kutulusca's curiosity means that it could either leave a fight or turn on its allies unexpectedly.

    Burodon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/26_burodon.png

A subterarrean kaiju that may or may not be a Retrosaur. Burodon, as the name would imply, lives to tunnel through the ground, and in the second story proper, he ends up in Tokyo. Should anyone tamper with his merticulous tunneling, they will find that he holds nasty grudges.

  • Berserk Button: Disrupt his tunneling and/or his tunnels, and he'll get really mad.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: One of his most common attacks is chucking boulders at enemies.
  • Expy: Of Baragon, as well as every other monster that has been conceived utilizing his suit, according to Word of God. He's even documented eating cattle, something Baragon did during his first appearence.
  • Punny Name: His name is a portmanteau of "burrow" and "don". In other words, "burrowing tooth". Alternatively, it's just a funny way of saying "burrow down".
  • Serious Business: His underground dwellings. Any cave-ins caused by people or kaiju will send him into a frenzy.
  • Tunnel King: All this kaiju can think about is burrowing and creating elaborate highways beneath the ground. He's so good at it, he can cause the Earth around enemies to turn against them.

    Kurokame
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/27_kurokame.png

A huge tortoise-like kaiju residing in Fujisawa, Japan. Many are still wondering if this thing is a prehistoric creature, as there is nothing in the fossil record that suggests giant tortoises. Nevertheless, Kurokame is a peaceful herbivore, so there is little to fear from him... but be warned. If he wants to go somewhere, nothing can stop him, and his stubborness makes him a threat to civilization at times.

  • Gentle Giant: A calm and herbivorous kaiju that doesn't mind either company or solitude.
  • Mellow Fellow: Most of the time, he's content with his lot in life.
  • Meaningful Name: If his name isn't from the defnintion below, it could relate to a translation for Black Tortoise, which is an important figure in Eastern mythology.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: As his name would imply, he combines features of a Galapagos tortoise and a crocodile (though more emphasis on the former).
  • Mr. Vice Guy: Unmistakably friendly, but his raw stubbornness when he wants to get from point A to point B makes him a threat to anyone underfoot.
  • Punny Name: His name is a combination of the japanese words for crocodile (Kurokodairu) and turtle (kami).
  • Shout-Out: Word of God states that his roar is identical to that of Gamera.
  • Super Drowning Skills: A noted poor swimmer, which makes it all the more perplexing that he was first seen rising from Igami Bay.

    Nastadyne
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/28_nastadyne.png
The Battle Beetle, King Kabuto, Japan’s Greatest Monster, the Titan of Tokyo
Burning Justice Nastadyne

A beetle-like kaiju that resides in Japan. In fact, he was the first one found there, and since then, he has become something of a hero to the populace. Indeed, despite his intimidating appearence and unmatched combat prowess, Nastadyne is unquestionably heroic in nature, and will fight the enemies of his land to the end.

  • Blood Knight: Sort of. He absolutely loves fighting other kaiju, but he will never attack anyone weaker than him.
  • All Asians Know Martial Arts: Fights less like a kaiju and more like a human martial artist.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: A giant bipedal hercules beetle.
  • Challenge Seeker: Nastadyne's favorite pasttime is searching for worthy foes to square off against.
  • Creepy Good: A monster beetle on two legs, yes, but also one of Japan's most beloved kaiju.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: The only kaiju he considers friends are those who have either beaten him or proved to be his equal.
  • Expy: Of Megalon, although in personality he's more like Jet Jaguar.
  • Irony: In the Sentai shows he's based off of, most monsters like him are villains for the hero to defeat. Here, he's a true hero.
  • Meaningful Name: He's named after the genus name of the Hercules beetle, Dynastes.
  • Shout-Out: His entire character is one to the Sentai genre, particularly his martial arts-like fighting style, Super Mode, and heroic nature.
  • Super Mode: His Burning Justice form, in which he increases his body temperature to make his moves both hit hard and burn foes. However, it is also quite draining for him.

    Karamtor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/29_58.png

A truly bizarre and huge alien resembling a gastropod that heralds from Venus. It is the first of many aliens that visit Earth in Volume 2, and it's not a very good start. Being a being from another world, Karamtor reacts to many things with hostility and fear, and that's bad when the panicking creature has acid spit and silicon limbs that function like chainsaws.

  • Bizarre Alien Biology: This monster has a hide that's tougher than most kaiju, only breathes sulfuric air, prefers extreme heat, has silicon-like elements in its body that give it its chainsaw-arms, and it can possibly self-fertilize.
  • Chainsaw Good: Its main weapons are a pair of chainsaw-like limbs made from something like silicon. And they are indeed rotary.
  • Expy: Of Gigan.
  • Extra Eyes: Six of them.
  • Fish out of Water: As one might guess, it is far from prepared to handle being on a totally different planet from Venus.
  • Hollywood Acid: It can spit digestive juices the same way a fly does.
  • Monster Is a Mommy: As it turns out, Karamtor is pregnant when it comes to Earth.

    Mastemuth
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/30_mastemuth.png

A large kaiju that resembles a glyptodont. He was found in Russia, along with other mamalian kaiju. Due to being built like a fortress, and with the size to match, very few creatures can harm him, though he sure loves to harm them all the same.

  • Blood Knight: Loves to show his supperiority through force, and will often draw fights out just to keep beating his foes up.
  • The Juggernaut: His hard shell makes him hard to hurt, and he's a lot faster than he looks.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Looks like a cross between a glyptodont, a wooly rhino, and, as the name would imply, mastadons and mammoths.
  • Sadist: Seems to delight in bringing the hurt, and dragging out fights just to prove that he's better.

    Glypton
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/31_glypton.png

A large glyptodont-like kaiju smaller than Mastemuth, and nowhere near as powerful. Despite this, she has her own ways of staying alive, mainly by being completely unpredicatble in both fighting ability and disposition.

  • Androcles' Lion: During the fight against Pathogen in Siberia, she returns to help Tyrantis and company as thanks for saving her from Mastemuth.
  • Innocently Insensitive: It doesn't seem to notice that most of her fights are rather rough, mainly because she views them as simple fun most of the time.
  • Little Stowaway: Travels to Typhon Island by taking the same transport meant for Mastemuth.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: It looks like a cross between an armadillo and a Doedicurus.
  • Mood-Swinger: It can go from mild-mannered to manic and fight-happy at the drop of a hat.
  • Rolling Attack: It can curl up into a ball and spin towards foes.

    Gorale
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/32_gorale.png

A rather pitiful-looking kaiju born from Russian nuclear bombing that looks like a cross between a baleen whale and an ape. Gorale looks outlandish even by the standards of most kaiju, and it's easy to assume that it's hopeless in a fight.

  • Beware the Silly Ones: Gorale looks like something made as some kind of sick joke, but he's also one of the most powerful kaiju on Typhon Island.
  • Blow You Away: Can utilize its blowhole to fire a concentrated beam of scalding steam. This is only its most mundane power.
  • Cowardly Lion: Despite being afraid of just about everything, it will not hesitate to jump into battle if others are in peril.
  • Frickin' Laser Beams: It can fire laser beams from his eyes.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Left to its own devices, it has been seen by itself and singing out to companions that are not there.
  • The Klutz: Mostly just runs around flapping its useless flippers and tripping over itself.
  • Lethal Joke Character: Ends up causing major damage to the Beyonder invasion during the Fianl Battle on Typhon Island.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: A combination of whale and yeti.
  • Superpower Lottery: The atomic bomb that gave it life may have turned it into a comical abomination, but it also somehow gave it the ability to fly telekenetically and fire laser beams.
  • Shout-Out: It's name and concept stems from Gojira himself.. More specifically, how the big G's name translates to "Gorilla Whale". Turns out, an actual gorilla whale would be a sorry sight.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: It seems to fear things like explosions and bright lights the most. It's more than likely that these trigger memories of the atom bombs that gave it life in the first place.

    The Writhing Flesh
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_inline_ojmle2waes1r2mmlv_1280.png
Cuddles

A positively awful-looking mess of a lifeform that was actually several different kaiju once. Then they were caught in nulcear blasts (the first and only time that A-bombs were used against kaiju), their collective regeneration spiraled out of control due to all the radiation, and gave rise to a mass appropriately titled what it was: Writhing Flesh. Despite its horrific look, however, it's surprisingly sedentary in disposition, and can be tame if not provoked.

  • Acid Attack: It can spit acid.
  • Body Horror: It's easily the most disgusting and warped-looking kaiju on the planet. For one thing, it's a bunch of kaiju mutated together, and it's eyes are located within its mouth.
  • Body of Bodies: It was formed from different kaiju being caught in nuclear bombing.
  • Cowardly Lion: It at first stays away from the fight against Pathogen before showing up near the end to bathe it in acid puke.
  • Creepy Good: It looks like a beast from a horror movie, but it's one of the nicer kaiju around.
  • Discard and Draw: It has no eyes (on the outside, that is), but it has really good hearing, mainly through sensing vibrations in the Earth.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Due to its mostly benign nature, this living horror show was nicknamed "cuddles".
  • It Can Think: Despite being so utterly alien and malformed, there is a degree of sapient thought going through the Writhing Flesh. It seems to desire companionship, fights to protect other kaiju, and seems almost aware of how messed up it is.
  • Poisonous Person: The barbs on one of its limbs are laced with both haemotoxin and neurotoxin.
  • Shout-Out: To the various Body Horror-laden bosses of the Resident Evil franchise.

    Pathogen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_9c24570e44267345d1f8b766c5badc7f_332bbe3b_1280.png
The Ultimate Pathogen, the Omega Virus, the Eater of the World

An absolutely horrible result of mad science courtesy of Dr. Murnau, this monster was the result of The Terror's remaining cells being subjected to the Omega strain of the Langsuir, a virus that can reanimate the dead, and seems to have some degree of sapience. While it cannot infect much of anything non-human, the mutated Omega strain managed to possess the Terror's corpse after undergoing several nightmarish mutations. The resulting kaiju Pathogen now exists only to eat all that dare cross its path.

  • Belly Mouth: It has a tendril-filled mouth on its belly.
  • Big Bad: Takes over the role from the Beyonder Alliance after killing the Great Beyonder and destroying their mothership with Commander Gat and Lieutenant Gray in it.
  • Bloody Murder: Can vomit gallons of noxious tainted blood as a weapon.
  • Body Horror: Not as bad as the Writhing Flesh, but its still a mishmashed horror that gets uglier with each appearance.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Delivers a devastating one to almost every kaiju, especially Tyrantis. Later, a powered-up Tyrantis pays him back in kind.
  • Discard and Draw: In taking over a part of the Terror's body, the virus lost its ability to spread to other life forms, but it now had the form of one of the most powerful kaiju around.
  • Evil Is Bigger: He's over two-hundred feet tall, making him one of the largest kaiju ever.
  • Expy: Of Destoroyah, though Word of God states that his horrible personality and violent acts are based off those of Showa Mechagodzilla.
  • Feel No Pain: Due to its Healing Factor, it's senses are so muted that pain is no object.
  • Foil: To the Writhing Flesh. Both are Body Horror-laden abominations found in Russia and brought into the world by human error. However, the Writhing Flesh was an accident, is mostly benign, and can think for itself. Pathogen is just a shell of a kaiju being paraded around by a mindlessly hungry virus intentionally made to be monstrously powerful.
  • Healing Factor: What makes Pathogen so deadly is his ability to heal from almost every wound. It takes Tyrantis going into his Super Mode and dunking him in a volcano to completely annihilate him.
  • Meaningful Name: The Langsuir virus is named after a type of Malaysian vampire.
  • Metamorphosis Monster: Its the way it is because the Omega Langsuir virus had to alter the body just enough for it to be a host.
  • More Teeth than the Osmond Family: It's freakishly long and sharp fangs grow in a gangly, disorganized way, and there's a lot of them.
  • Non-Human Undead: The Terror's unsightly mutated corpse being used by the Langsuir virus.
  • Puppeteer Parasite: The mutated Langsuir virus is calling the shots. The monster is just a corpse at this point.
  • Slasher Smile: Considering how many times he's described as grinning, once can only imagine he's good at this.

    Kraydi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/35_kraydi.png
Asset Pythos

A large monitor lizard kaiju living in Yucca Flat, Kraydi was captured and imprisoned in Area 51 to be experimented on. As it turned out, he had latent psychic powers that were only made all the more powerful by the humans' tampering. And with this change came a much more inquisitive and calculating personality to match.

  • Chekhov's Gunman: After having a brief introduction in Area 51, he returns to witness the fiery consequences of Promythigor's rampage, and teleports every kaiju to Typhon Island.
  • Constantly Curious: Due to his heightened intelligence and mind-reading abilities, Kraydi will spend hours observing other beings. It is considered to be somewhat unsettling by humans.
  • The Empath: Can sense the emotions of others by reading their minds.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: In a sense. He was once a rather peaceful, inoffensive kaiju before Area 51 awakened his potent psychic powers.
  • Intrigued by Humanity: Finds humans to be the most interesting to observe, though he doensn't quite grasp how frail they are.
  • Mind over Matter: Can lift both himself and other objects with his psychic powers.
  • Poisonous Person: Has a rather weak haemotoxic bite.
  • Power Floats: Kraydi refuses to walk. Instead, he levitates and swims through the air. On occasion though, he has to walk to recharge his abilities.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: After getting his powers, he went from mellow and relaxed to antisocial and not too caring of what others think.
  • Telekinesis: Can move things with his mind.
  • Teleportation: Can transport himself to another location, or at the very least the closest approximate to where he'd rather be. He manages to achieve Mass Teleportation with all the kaiju stuck in Area 51, though he ends up transporting them all the way in the sky above Typhon Island.

    Minerva
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/36a_minerva_helmet.png
Asset Athena, The 100 Foot Woman
Click to see her without her helmet

"I have always been what I am, and always will be. You have always been what you are, and always will be. we are different in vast ways. If our simularities disturb you, take comfort in this."

A huge human clone created in Area 51 in secret via Yamaneon radiation. Minerva is in fact the result of a nefarious plot to recreate Dr. Mina Lerna with her DNA so that there would be a more subservient version of her for people to control. Thankfully, she turned out to be just as independent on her predecessor, and with the original Lerna's encouragement, foiled her creator's plans.

  • Born as an Adult: She was artificially brought to maturity, with the intellect to match.
  • Brawn Hilda: Unlike Lerna, she's got a lot more emphasis on muscle.
  • Clone Angst: Surprisingly averted. While the reveal of her origins is certainly shocking for all parties, she took it mostly in stride, seeing herself as a completely different person. After a while, Lerna accepted this as well.
  • Double Weapon: She wields a double-ended spear made from parts broken off from Mantiresia and Girtabane.
  • Expy: Of Nancy Archer from Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, as well as all other giant human movies from the 50s/60s. Difference is she's 100 feet instead.
  • Genius Bruiser: Minerva was trained to fight like a warrior, but she is also remarkably observant and verbose.
  • Humans Are Flawed: Her ultimate view on mankind is that they are ultimately worth protecting, but they fly too close to the sun for their own good at times, and often cause catastrophes in trying to prevent them.
  • It Can Think: Granted, most kaiju can think, but this is the only one capable of speech. Not surprising, as she is a human.
  • Shout-Out: Her weapon made from monster parts bears a resemblance to the Insect Glaive of the Monster Hunter franchise.

    Promythigor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/37_86.png
Asset Prometheus, the Pyromaniac Ape, the Sinister Sasquatch

A mutated sasquatch, and one of the captive kaiju in Area 51. The constant experiments run on him have warped him in both body and mind. Now many times bigger than he used to be, Promythigor has also gained a much more insane disposition, as well as an unsettling urge to burn everything around him. And with his newly aquired pyrokenetic powers, he can do just that.

  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: There is no logic or reason to how he fights. Just "burn and punch and bite until there's nothing left of anything".
  • Ax-Crazy: It's one of the few kaiju who is legitamately mad.
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: The time in Area 51 was not kind to him at all.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: A sasquatch, specifically. And a mutated one at that.
  • Blood Knight: Loves to beat his foes into oblivion.
  • Expy: Of King Kong.
  • Killer Gorilla: Killer giant sasquatch in any case.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: Most sasquatches are very shy and gentle creatures. Area 51 turned Promythigor into...something else.
  • Playing with Fire: Has the ability of pyrokenesis. In other words, he can ignite most of what he can see. And he loves it. So much so that he'll light himself on fire by accident when burning others, and still keep doing it out of sheer euphoria.
  • Sadist: All this guy cares about anymore is fire and pain, especially inflicting all two.
  • Primate Versus Reptile: Naturally gets into a brutal fight with Tyrantis. In a unique twist, it's the ape who's the violence-loving antagonist instead of the other way around. Word of God has said that this role-reversal is very much intentional, as he has voiced in the past his dislike of the usual trope.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Completely mentally unstable to the point where fire puts him in a state of almost child-like wonder. More fire makes him happy, and that's not good for anybody else.
  • Pyromaniac: This guy loves fire with a capital 'L'. He loves starting fires, setting things on fire, setting living things on fire, and even setting himself on fire.
  • Shout-Out: He's one to all giant apes in media, from King Kong to Konga to Congar, and so on.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Perhaps even moreso than Ahuul when he becomes a part of Typhon Island.
  • Tragic Monster: For all of his insanity and sadism, there's still a part of him that wishes for companionship like his sasquatch brethren, but he's since written it off as hopeless. All he has left is the literal fires of hate and destruction.

    Ullawdra
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/38_2.png
The Red Weed, the Mean Red Weed from Outer Space, "God Mother", Sweet Red Mother of Mars

One of the four Martian monsters to arrive on Earth. Ullawdra is very plant-like in both biology and appearance, but it's very clear that this is an animal, albeit a very strange one. Yet despite looking like a plant straight out of Hell, she is considered by the Martians to be one of the most benevolent kaiju on their planet. Then again, that kindness does not quite apply to humans...

  • Alien Kudzu: Tends to have her vines spread everywhere as she feeds.
  • A Hero to His Hometown: On Mars, Ullawdra is considered to be a noble and heroic goddess due to how she nurtures the planet and fights off rogue kaiju. Sadly, she's more of a hostile force on Earth, but not enough to be a bad guy.
  • Combat Tentacles: Her tendrils can lash out rather quickly.
  • Expy: Of Biollante and Audrey 2.
  • Creepy Good: Despite looking like a nightmarish plant monster, she was revered the most amongst the Martian kaiju.
  • Gentle Giant: To all Martiankind. To mankind, not so much.
  • Heal It with Blood: Not really blood, but her sap has extremely nutritous healing properties.
  • Miracle-Gro Monster: Water causes her to start growing at an exponential rate. Even the smallest pond causes her vines to grow by the bucketload.
  • Planimal: Looks like a sort of plant, but her sapience and other biological oddities constitute her as another creature as well.
  • Shout-Out: It's a reference to the red plantlife featured in The War of the Worlds.

    Kemlasulla
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/39_kemlasulla.png
The Tripod Cyclops, the Whirling Destruction, "The First Beast God"

One of the four Martian monsters to arrive on Earth. Kemlasulla is by far one of the most combat-ready of them, as he has a heavily-armored head and is able to move a lot quicker than he lets on with his unusual shape. Yet despite looking and acting so vicious, he's actually not all that fond of fights to the death, and will often settle for simple sparring matches.

  • Beware the Silly Ones: He's a weird fellow that likes to dance around and act goofy, but he's the leader of the Martian kaiju for a reason.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: For one thing, he's shaped like a tripod with boneless tentacles in-between legs. Also, pretty much all of his major organs are located where his head is. And to reproduce, like all Martian fauna, his kind release spores onto one another.
  • Head Blast: Can fire a blast of kinetic energy from his eye that can levitate things.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Long ago, during the great kaiju war on Mars, he found it was a lot more enjoyable to fight other monsters instead of wrecking the weaker Martians. After a while, the Martians attempted to make peace with him, and it worked out.
  • Impossibly Graceful Giant: He likes to hop around on one of his three legs, mostly as a mocking or excited display.
  • The Leader: Seems to be this unofficially to the Martian kaiju that arrive on Earth.
  • Mind over Matter: His eye beam has telekinetic powers, and even kaiju can be lifted off the ground by it. It saves Tyrantis from certain death, for one thing.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Described as looking like some kind of cross between a reptile and a cephelopod.
  • No Biological Sex: Almost all Martian lifeforms are genderless, but he's refered to his his gender for apparently no reason in particular by humans.
  • Shout-Out: His design was inspired by the Tripods from The War of the Worlds, albeit a stranger and more biological take on them.

    Podritak
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/40_podritak.png
The Flying Frog-ray, "Copper Doom"

One of the four Martian monsters to arrive on Earth. Podritak is an advanced form of Martian life, much like Kemlasulla is. However, she is more designed for flying instead of close combat, and she can do so quite well. But she's no pushover either. Get her riled up enough, and she can prove to be a powerful opponent.

  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Her general strategy is to staying in the air, observing her confused foes, and then going in for a hit.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Many of her features look like they have shrunk over time, like her neck, and her tails are actually three hind limbs fused together. Her tail beams are also fuelled by waste matter.
  • Confusion Fu: Podritak fights by generally staying out of an opponents reach, frustrating them and leaving them wide open.
  • Fartillery: The least flattering way to describe her tail beams. Apparently, they are actually coming out of the end of her digestive tract. In other words, she has weaponised her waste.
  • Shout-Out: Her design was inspired by the ground-based war machines from The War of the Worlds, though this one is a biological creature.
  • Sore Loser: Once her strategies start failing her, she starts to lose her cool, and resorts to panicking to the point where foes can get an easy hit in.
  • No Biological Sex: All Martian animals are genderless, but she's identified as female for reasons not clear.
  • Shout-Out: She's a biological take on the flying saucers sometimes seen in iterations of The War of the Worlds.
  • Women Are Wiser: Downplayed as this kaiju has No Biological Sex, but she is described as being one of the calmer Martians.

    Sombarvot
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/41_37.png
The Blue Squid-Lizard, “Wild Steed”

One of the four Martian monsters to arrive on Earth. Sombarvot is very similar to Kemlasulla in biology, though he's obviously a very different animal. Aside from not having any special powers like the others, he is very much a sensitive and benign kaiju that fits right at home with most of the other Earth monsters.

  • Badass Normal: Has none of the flashy powers his cohorts have, but he's still a formidable fighter through his stength and size.
  • Berserk Button: Bullies send Sombarvot into a rage due to his tender nature.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Much like Tyrantis, he is usually quite nice, but will attack those who abuse others. However, his beatdowns are much more brutal.
  • Emotional Bruiser: Seems to be quite emotionally fragile, particularly when a fight isn't going his way or when he feels threatened. He's also extremely conscious about those surrounding him.
  • Gentle Giant: The nicest of the Marian kaiju.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: As his nickname implies, he looks like a cross between a reptile and a cephalopod.
  • No Biological Sex: A genderless creature, yet people have described him as male anyway.
  • Shout-Out: To the multi-legged giant lizards from John Carter of Mars.
  • Shrinking Violet: The shyest of the kaiju, bar none.

    Torkenrak
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/42_torkenrak.png

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the Beyonder Homeworld. Torkenrak has been in the Beyonder army for the longest time, and has been heavily mutated in order to adapt to multiple planets as a result. What the Beyonders don't seem to notice is that this has left one of their strongest monsters feeling utterly broken inside.

  • Bad Boss: Bullies and threatens his fellow kaiju into working alongside him. And sometimes, he'll leave them for dead to avoid a fight.
  • Blinded by the Light: Can emit disorienting strobe lights from all over his body.
  • Dirty Coward: Will turn tail if a fight isn't going his way.
  • Expy: His appearance and constant upgrades (mutations) bring to mind Gigan, minus the metal parts.
  • Hidden Depths: Turns out, he just wants a break from his constant fighting, and his cruel exterior is mostly a ruse to keep the Beyonders from suspecting anything.
  • I Just Want to Be Free: His ultimate aspiration. However, untold years of being the Beyonders' weapon have beaten this dream into the ground.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Looks like a bizarre cross between a chicken and a deep-sea fish.
  • The Social Darwinist: To him, there are only those who should die, and those who should work with him so that they don't die.
  • War Is Hell: The Beyonders have utilized Torkenrak so much to the point where he cannot think of any non-violent solutions to anything. And apparently he knows this, his time as a weapon having destroyed any hope of personal freedom.

    Pleprah
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/43_pleprah.png

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the Beyonder Homeworld. Pleprah hasn't been quite as mutated as his kin, so he's a greater example of what life must look like where the Beyonders come from. Perhaps owing to this reduced cruelty to him, he's one of the more jovial alien kaiju, and never wastes an opportunity to show others his more artistic side.

  • Attention Whore: He positively loves being the center of attention.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: A rather silly kaiju compared to most others. He likes to dance and sing at any given moment, and he's equally kooky in a fight.
  • Compelling Voice: His main asset is his ability to utilize different sounds and vocal alterations in order to lull foes into security. But most of the time, he keeps trying out new vocalizations seemingly just so that he can get more attention, not unlike how a musiscian practices for his performances.
  • Expy: Of the Giant Purple People Eater.
  • Fighting Clown: His means of combat, aside from using his voice, includes acting like an idiot to confuse foes before showing how spry he can be.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: He can emit a sonic scream.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: He acts like a goof to throw enemies off.

    Googora
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/44_googora.png

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the planet Feengup. Googora is an oddball like her partners, but she's new to the cause, and therefore hasn't been mutated. Not only that, but matching her bizarre looks is her personality. She's no fighter, she's a certified teaser who loves to get on everyone's nerves.

  • Bizarre Alien Biology: First of all, she looks like some kind of reptilian robot from a distance. Upon closer inspection, she takes on arthropod elements, her "arms" on the sides of her jaw are actually a pair of antenna, and her legs look like human fingers.
  • Combat Breakdown: An almost intentional example on her part. Most fights may start brutal, but then they slowly devolve into comic antics and such. Even when in the heat of battle, she can't help but lighten up the mood.
  • Deadly Gas: Can emit a spray of irradiated powder.
  • The Prankster: Seeks to mostly just mess around with other kaiju.
  • Shout-Out: To a particular brand of monster-shaped erasers that Cope knew back in the day.
  • Token Good Teammate: Out of all the Beyonder kaiju, Googora is the least malicious. Sure, she loves to annoy everybody, but to her, a joke should never go as far as really hurting anybody.

    Ugugular
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/45_ugugular.png

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the planet Kwadsim. Ugugular is so completely weird compared to the other monsters at the Beyonders' disposal that they cannot figure out how to genetically modify it. Not that they have to, as it does their every whim without much objection... on the outside, of course.

  • Bizarre Alien Biology: It's hard to describe this one, but the best we got is a giant living plant-like beast with four large muscular legs and four cycloptic snake-like heads/eyes.
  • Extreme Doormat: By kaiju standards, Ugugular is a complete pushover, usually opting to follow whoever is greater in strength at any given time.
  • Hidden Depths: In truth, its utterly devoid of pleasure or joy in being so subservient to the Beyonder Alliance.
  • Hollywood Acid: Can belch out extremely dangerous acidic bile.
  • Stone Wall: Very resilient and not a bad fighter either.
  • War Is Hell: Years of being one of the Beyonders' most used kaiju have eroded this creature's sense of freedom, choice, and independent thought.

    Crimorax
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/46_crimorax.png

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the planet Scalim. Crimorax is lucky to not have been modified. In spite of her body being more suited for climbing huge trees instead of being on the ground, she has managed to be a good fighter in the eyes of her masters. However, all of the combat has left her very scared on the inside.

  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Looks like some kind of giant alien ant/crab thing.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: While she looks like a fairly standard monster bug, her mouth is all the way on her tail.
  • The Heart: Surprisingly. She's one of the few kaiju in the Beyonder Alliance who actually has a degree of feeling for her fellow enslaved monsters, to the point of looking after the rookies.
  • Hidden Depths: Her vicious combat strategies are a front for how scared she is of the foreign worlds she ends up in.
  • Lightning Bruiser: She has learned to fight fast in spite of her stumpy look on the ground.
  • War Is Hell: She is in a constant state of fright due to all of the strange worlds she's forced to fight in.

    Venora
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/47_venora.png

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the planet Scalim. Venora was modified to be more of an aquatic fighter, reducing her ability on land vastly. Despite this, she is very much a capable fighter in both biomes, albeit a very reluctant one.

  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Like Crimorax, an alien from the same planet no less, her mouth is located at the end of her body, not her head. Though this time, it's practically the entirety of the stump that is her lower body. Also, she's been modified so that her "head" can breathe in water.
  • Discard and Draw: Her mobility on land was mosty traded for exceptional swimming skills.
  • Hollywood Acid: She has a duct on her chest that spits acid.
  • Planimal: She combines elements of trees and animals.
  • War Is Hell: Just wants to live her own life of peace, but the Beyonders keep forcing her into combat situations.

    Zillser
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/48_zillser.png

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from Kaiju Factory Planet 6. Zillser was created on a planet bombed to Hell and back with Yamaneon radiation bombs until it got results. Due to having next to no life outside of this, it is one of the easier to control of the Beyonders' arsenal.

  • The Berserker: Due to its youngness, Zillser is rather quick to want to fight due to its territorial nature. It will fight to the end in order to regain a sense of safety.
  • Breath Weapon: A blast of plasma from the mouth.
  • Dumb Is Good: Its lack of intelligence actually comes with a much more benign personality when left to its own devices.
  • Dumb Muscle: Easily one of the strongest Beyonder kaiju, but also the least bright, and therefore more susceptible to egregious error.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Lacks any of the real thinking ability most of the other alien kaiju have, but it makes up for that with its great strength.

    Dorazor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/49_dorazor.png

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the Beyonder Homeworld. Dorazor is one of the strongest monsters at the Beyonder Alliance's disposal, mainly because none were so throroughly genetically modified like him. But despite all of this great ability, a century of being a weapon has made him a shell of his former savage self. He'll still fight, but his fighting spirit died a long time ago.

  • Expy: Of King Ghidorah.
  • Despair Event Horizon: At some point in the 100+ years of being a war weapon, Dorazor just completely lost any and all feeling he had as a fighter. He only ever fights because he has to, and nothing else.
  • Frickin' Laser Beams: Can fire lasers from his eyes.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: Once, he was a terror to even the Beyonders, and then became their most ferocious and powerful kaiju. After a while, he can't even bring himself to be angry at his captors. He's just so spent from all his fighting.
  • I Just Want to Be Free: Moreso than any other Beyonder kaiju.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: His greatest dream is to not only permenantly leave the battlefield, but also have companioins to share that freedom with.
  • Shock and Awe: He has taser-like claws.
  • War Is Hell: Moreso than even Torkenrak. He's fought for so long that he no longer has any passion nor hope in his heart. He is well and truly broken by the strain.

    The Great Beyonder
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/50_the_great_beyonder.png

A Beyonder mutated into a kaiju, and the most potent weapon of the Beyonder Alliance and its invasion of countless planets. Every bit as cruel and calculating as the empire that made it in Commander Gat's image, the Great Beyonder prides himself on his cunning and inperviousness. However, this line of thinking can only prepare him for a great fall...

  • Aliens Are Bastards: In a story in which almost all of the alien kaiju are sympathetic, this one stands out as being just pure evil, mainly because he's based on the being put all of those kaiju in their unfortunate situation.
  • Anti-Climax Boss: Arrives as the Beyonder's greatest asset...just to get beaten up by the Martian kaiju and then eaten by Pathogen.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Ultimately gets ursurped in this position by Pathogen when the virus kaiju bites its head off and absorbs it.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Absolutely resents any and all kaiju that defy him, mainly because they don't have to handle the Alliance and he has to. Also, he just doesn't like to think anything is stronger than him.
  • Smug Snake: The Beyonder Alliance keeps hyping him up, but in the end, it's all a front to hide how he's not really all that stronger than the average kaiju. Still, he will put up a fight if push comes to shove.
  • Too Clever by Half: Prides himself on being very smart and calculating, but this hardly matters because it only fuels his ego, and his opponents care not for complex strategies when they can just mostly use their brawn.

Other beings

     The Reptodites
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reptodite.png

"For now, the surface is yours to dwell on, but the tunnels belong to the Reptodites, and all are subject to the judgement of the Earth. The giants are our guardians. Do not make them your executioners."

A civilization of lizard-people who have been living in the Yamaneon tunnels beneath the Earth for eons alongside the kaiju. Over time, they evolved to become a civilization based around preserving the world and providing stability. While they didn't mind humans, they knew that they would end up having to face greater threats later down the line.

One Reptodite, named Grossk, becomes integral to the final part of Volume 2.

  • Advanced Ancient Humans: Ancient humanoids really, but still. These beings have managed to figure out bioengineering and somehow even became aware of outer space way before we did, becoming aware of the Martians and the Beyonders in the process.
  • Expy: Of the Reptites from Chrono Trigger.
  • Hollow World: The underground tunnels they live in, thanks to the Yamaneon supply, have been reshaped and recultivated into near-perfect reconstructions of what life was once like around 65 million years ago.
  • Humans Are Flawed: They don't hate humanity, but they are put off by how most of our advances in technology have been ultimately used for violence. As far as they're concerned, the fate of the human race is not their problem.
  • Lizard Folk: Far less malevolent than most pop-culture examples at that.
  • Medieval Stasis: Reptodite culture is no more advanced than the Bronze Age. However, on the subject of bioengineering and astrology and even a bit of technology, they're a step ahead.
  • Nuclear Weapons Taboo: They fear and hate the atomic bomb, calling it the devil's fire, and viewing it as the very worst mankind has to offer. Seeing how it triggered the Superquake and destroyed many of their settlements, how can you blame them?

     Commander Gat

The leader of the Beyonder Alliance, and the herald of Earth's greatest threat. His diverse army sees the human race as a liability to the empire, and thus he kickstarts an invasion guarenteed to leave this world lifeless.

  • Aliens Are Bastards: He and his Beyonders go after any planet they deem unfit to be a part of the galaxy they claim to own.
  • Bad Boss: Threatens to kill Liutenant Gray for showing the slightest amount of pity for the humans.
  • Big Bad: The leader of the Beyonder Alliance, and thus the biggest antagonist. Until Pathogen ursurps him.
  • Fangs Are Evil: Sports an impressive pair of fangs, much like the Great Beyonder.
  • Octopoid Aliens: Resembles a squid with an ogre's face.
  • Smug Snake: Treats the invasion like a cakewalk until the kaiju start putting in the effort.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Slowly begins to lose his cool as the Beyonder kaiju fail to defeat Earth's monsters. It gets to the point where he releases the Great Beyonder and Pathogen at the same time, with catastrophic results.

     Liutenant Gray

The ambassador of the Beyonder Alliance, and Commander Gat's second-in-command. Unlike his master, he resembles a human much more, and is quite intelligent. That doesn't mean he gets the final say in the invasion plans, though.

  • Aliens Are Bastards: He and his Beyonders go after any planet they deem unfit to be a part of the galaxy they claim to own.
  • Aliens Speaking English: He has practiced our language before he came to Earth, as is fitting for an ambassador.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Preys on Rockwell and a lot of America's fear of the kaiju so that he can pretend to offer a means of getting rid of them, only to then inevitably betray them when the plan is put into motion.
  • The Dragon: To Commander Gat.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He at one point admits that the carnage being wrought by The Mothmanud swarm is hard to watch, and even expresses just a bit of pity for the human race. Commander Gat tranquilly threatens him with death for that.
  • The Greys: Looks a lot like a typical Grey alien.

     Herakoschei
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/m1_herakoschei.png
Axe of Perun, the Deathless Soldier

A large human-operated robot built in Russia. It was designed to fight human wars once, but after the rise of the kaiju, it was given the job of monitoring them instead. It was also made from studying info stolen from the U.S.

  • Applied Phlebotinum: This robot is made of Xeno-Titanium, a kind of metal that's much stronger than any real life ones.
  • Cyber Cyclops: It's singular red eye.
  • Expy: Of M.O.G.U.E.R.A., within context. Though Word of God states that it was mostly based off of Cherno Alpha, being a manually-piloted Russian battle machine. It even looks like that robot. It also looks a lot like Robby the Robot.
  • Humongous Mecha
  • Punny Name: Its name is a portmanteau of Herakles (the famous Demigod hero of Greek mythology) and Koschei the Deathless (a villainous figure in Slavic folklore).
  • Shout-Out: To the giant clunky robots of the 50s and 60s.

    Atomoton
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/m2_atomoton.png
Project Thunderchild Mk. 2, the Atomic Automaton

A large machine built in America. It has a similar role to the Russian Herakoschei, being a robot that protects the populace from potential kaiju attacks. In fact, it was finshed in order to act as a sort of retort in what can only be described as a mecha-arms race. In the U.S.A.'s defense, Atomoton was in the works the same time Mecha Tyrantis was, but the emphasis on that project put the robot to the wayside for a while.

  • Applied Phlebotinum: This robot is made of Xeno-Titanium, a kind of metal that's much stronger than any real life ones.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Instead of just a human pilot, Atomoton can rely on the Promelion Artificial Pilot Intelligence, or P.A.P.I.
  • Benevolent A.I.: P.A.P.I. does its best to look out for its pilot, and knows a non-hostile being when it sees one.
  • Chicken Walker: It's legs are surprisingly digitigrade.
  • Cyber Cyclops: It only has one blue eye.
  • Expy: Of Jet Jaguar, particularly in the color scheme.
  • Humongous Mecha
  • Punny Name: Its name is based off of one of the words for a robot, "automoton", albeit with the word "atomic" worked in.
  • Ridiculously Human Robots: P.A.P.I. is remarkably empathetic for an A.I..
  • Shock and Awe: It has taser claws for hands.
  • Tank-Tread Mecha: It's legs have tank-like treads on it for some reason.

    Frightron
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/m3_frightron.png
Professor Panic's Mean Machine

A robot designed by international terrorist Dr. Fritz Murnau (or Doctor Panic, as he was known) in order to impress the Beyonder Alliance. However, he made the mistake of unleashing it on Typhon Island, where the resident kaiju soundly thrashed it.=

  • Applied Phlebotinum: This robot is made of Xeno-Titanium, a kind of metal that's much stronger than any real life ones.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Frightron is piloted by an A.I. called the Cesare Artificial Pilot Intelligence, or CAPI.
  • Chainsaw Good: More specifically, an arm attachment known as the Kaiju Gutter Chainsaw. And it's shaped like a hook.
  • Unnecessarily Creepy Robot: Murnau seemed to go out of his way to make this robot look as deranged as he was.
