The Dino Charge Rangers
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: The Megaforce Rangers were high school students, the Dino Charge Rangers are young adults. The Megaforce Rangers used powers that were elemental based, the Dino Charge Rangers used powers derived from dinosaurs. The Megaforce Rangers had seven active Rangers throughout the season, the Dino Charge Rangers have ten.
  • The Chosen One: The ten Rangers are all chosen by the Energems through selfless actions.
  • Hour of Power: The Dino Chargers are battery like items used to morph, summon weapons, summon Zords and activate Megazord configurations, and special attacks. But just like batteries, they only hold so much charge at a time so they must be recharged at a special docking station in-between battles.
  • Sword and Gun: Each Dino Charge Ranger has a set of swords and blasters they use.
    • The Core Five, Aqua, Graphite, and Purple Rangers each wield the Dino Charge Morphers as their blasters and the Dino Sabers as their swords.
    • The Gold Ranger wields the wrist mounted Gold Ptera Morpher as his blaster and the Ptera Saber as his sword.
    • The Silver Rangers wields the Titano Charge Morpher as his blaster and the Titano Sword as his sword.
  • Transformation Trinket: There are three types of Morphers the Rangers use, but they all require a Dino Charger to initiate the morph.
    • The core five, Graphite, Purple, and Aqua Rangers use the Dino Charge Morphers. These are revolver like blasters that double as Morphers.
    • The Gold Ranger uses the Gold Ptera Morpher. It is a wrist mounted Morpher that doubles as an arm mounted blaster.
    • The Silver Ranger use the Titano Charge Morpher to morph. It is a recolor of the Dino Charge Morpher in the color of Zenowing's plume and beak.

Tyler Navarro / Dino Charge Red

I must be Dino Super Tired!
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dino_charge_red.jpg

Portrayed by: Brennan Mejia
Voiced by: Edson Matus (Latin American Spanish dub)

Tyler Navarro, the leader of the Rangers, is a free-spirited adventurer with a huge heart. Determined to solve the mystery of his father's disappearance, this curious and energetic Ranger is nothing to mess with when it comes to defeating evil. For Tyler, making friends is easy, but will defending Earth be just as simple?

Dinosaur Spirit: Tyrannosaurus Rex

Gear: Red Energem / Dino Charge Morpher / Dino Com / Dino Saber / T-Rex Smasher

  • Catchphrase: "It's about to get wild!"
  • Composite Character: Tyler is essentially also Rika's counterpart in virtue of being the offspring of the second light blue ranger who has familial ties to a core member of the team. In a roundabout way, he also fills Nossan's role as the said member of the core team whom the second light blue ranger is related to.
  • Deadpan Snarker: His quips and banter come more akin to an adventure hero or superhero's style, though it can come off as snark at times. For example, he takes time out from fighting a monster to snark about Shelby's nametag while introducing himself at the same time.
  • Disappeared Dad: Vanished ten years ago. Tyler starts the series looking for him.
  • Gender Flip: As mentioned in Composite Character above, the offspring of the second light blue ranger who has familial ties to a core member of the team is female.
  • Green-Eyed Epiphany: He starts to acknowledge his feelings for Shelby (with a little help from Chase) after becoming jealous when one of the N-Zed Boyz suggests she join the band.
  • The Leader: As the Red Ranger, did you expect any different?
  • The Nicknamer: Calls the T-Rex Zord "Rexy".
  • No Indoor Voice: We have yet another Red Ranger who slips into this whenever he's morphed.
  • Performance Anxiety: "The Silver Secret" reveals that he suffers from stage fright.
  • Power Fist: His T-Rex Smasher.
  • Rookie Red Ranger: Chase and Koda had found their energems, and been mentored by Keeper and Kendall before he found his. He was the third of the core five to find his energem, but he takes the leadership role because the others are either unfocused (Chase), not interested in the role (Koda and Riley), or disliked by their chief scientist for petty reasons (Shelby).
  • Ship Tease: With Shelby. It mostly manifests as concern when she's off on her own during attacks, but gets pushed into the forefront when he gets jealous of her going shopping with Ivan in "Sync or Swim", and with their almost-date in "Wishing for a Hero". The two share a heartfelt conversation in "The Silver Secret", culminating in an Almost Kiss that Koda interrupts.
  • Somebody Set Up Us the Bomb: In the Grand Finale of Dino Super Charge, Tyler does the same thing Keeper did, swapping out the Energems for the unstable crystal, this time destroying Fury.
  • Super Mode: in Dino Super Charge'', Tyler gains the T-Rex Super Charge mode. While powerful on its own, the form can also utilize some of his teammate's own Dino Chargers to access abilities similar to the Dino Zords. These include: A Stego Shield, A Tricera Drill, A Para Blaster, A Raptor Claw, An Ankylo Hammer, and A Pachy Flail.
  • Unrelated in the Adaptation: As mentioned in Composite Character and Gender Flip above, the second light blue ranger and her offspring are the younger sister and niece of the blue ranger. The Navarros have no familial ties to Koda.

Chase Randall / Dino Charge Black

Chase Randall/Dino Charge Black

I've ridden everything from roller-coasters to kangaroos.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dino_charge_black.jpg

Portrayed by: James Davies
Voiced by: Luis Fernando Orozco (Latin American Spanish dub)

Even though Chase Randall is from New Zealand, he can feel at home anywhere as long as he's riding around on his beloved skateboard. Chase may be a flirt, but meet him on the battlefield and you'll be flirting with disaster.

Dinosaur Spirit: Parasaurolophus

Gear: Black Energem / Dino Charge Morpher / Dino Com / Dino Saber / Para Chopper

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Except while on his board.
  • Automatic Crossbow: His Para Chopper.
  • Butt-Monkey: He sometimes has bad luck Sledge's monsters. It may be a product of Sentai footage, but in quick succession, he's caged in a cave, zapped with a mind control spell, and given a massive toothache - effects which the other members of the team either don't experience at all or only very briefly if so. He also tends to have bad luck getting a girlfriend.
  • Casanova Wannabe: He's quite a shameless flirt. In the first episode, he flirts with two girls (who quickly shoot him down), then flirts with Shelby mere minutes later, only to get shot down again.
  • Character Development: As the series goes on, Chase becomes a wiser, more centered, and definitely a more devout person.
  • Cool Board: A black skateboard with a kiwi on it. His ability to focus while boarding even helps him break out of a mind-control spell.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: More than once, Chase has been distracted by a good-looking lady. In one instant, it happened during a trust exercise. And another while he was supposed to be working in the kitchen.
  • The Gunslinger: Chase is usually the Ranger most often shown using his gun in a battle.
  • Headphones Equal Isolation: He's first introduced listening to them while working, making it difficult for Tyler to get his attention.
  • It's All About Me: He almost lost his girlfriend Kaylee due to only focusing on himself and not taking the time to learn anything about her. He gets better, though.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Chase isn't a bad person by any stretch, but he can be irresponsible, insensitive and overly confrontational at times. This ends up being a plot point in "True Black", where his insensitive behavior towards Shelby gets him in trouble with his Energem.
  • The Lancer: Aside from The Law Of Chromatic Superiority, Chase is established to be Kendall's first choice as leader. He regularly takes charge of things at hand and chastised Tyler for going off on a hunch, but he apologized later.
  • Living Forever Is Awesome: Due to his personality, he seems happy about the fact having an Energem means he's now The Ageless.
  • Wearing a Flag on Your Head: The kiwi on the skateboard. It's in the OP and everything!

    Koda / Dino Charge Blue

Koda/Dino Charge Blue

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pr_koda.png
Someone say burgers?
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dino_charge_blue.jpg

Portrayed by: Yoshi Sudarso
Voiced by: Luis Daniel Ramírez (Latin American Spanish dub)

Koda is the oldest Dino Charge Ranger... by 100,000 years! It may be funny to watch this caveman maneuver the modern world, but his incredible strength and natural intuition are no laughing matter. This pre-historic Ranger has a heart of gold and will stop at nothing to defend Earth.

Dinosaur Spirit: Stegosaurus

Gear: Blue Energem / Dino Charge Morpher / Dino Com / Dino Saber / Stego Shield

  • Adaptational Skimpiness: Koda shows more skin compared to Nossan and is the more obvious Mr. Fanservice between the two.
  • Age Lift: Zig-Zagged. Nossan is well into his thirties. Koda, on the other hand, has the appearance of a young man but is Really 700 Years Old.
  • All Cavemen Were Neanderthals: Averted. Koda's the muscle of the team and he no speak good, but he looks like a modern human, and it's made clear (especially in "Return of the Caveman") that he's as intelligent as one, too. He was just raised to learn survival skills instead of modern technology and language.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He apparently was frozen after saving his younger brother, Taku, from a saber-tooth.
  • The Big Guy: Super strong and a caveman with a fighting style based on throwing his weight around.
  • Big Eater: He munches down hard on a pretty large burger and seems to finish it in no time.
  • The Bus Came Back: Just two seasons after going back to the past, Koda comes back for the 25th Anniversary episode, "Dimensions in Danger." He's the one to explain to the Ninja Steel Rangers that Dino Charge is an Alternate Universe.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: His Super-Strength isn't from the Dino Gem. He's naturally that strong due to being a caveman.
  • Decomposite Character: His sentai counterpart's role as the core team member whom the (second) light blue ranger is related to has been filled by Tyler.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Eats crayons according to Roar of the Red Ranger
  • Famous Ancestor: His grandfather invented the wheel.
  • First-Name Basis: Is the only one that can use Kendall's first name without her responding "It's Ms. Morgan".
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: He's way out of his timeline and takes some time getting used to the changes the world has gone through.
  • Human Popsicle: Appears to be what happened to him, as we see him falling into an ice-filled ocean with his Energem activating. He confirms it in the next episode.
  • Mr. Fanservice: He constantly walks around the command center shirtless, and he's quite ripped.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Koda is more hunky than usual examples but is a good-looking man nonetheless.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: His Stego Shield.
  • Meaningful Name: Intentional or not, there is the Japanese word kodai, which means "ancient"... Which suits Koda well, being him a caveman.
  • Mundane Utility: Super-Strength, heightened senses and reflexes turn out to be extremely effective in baseball.
  • Odd Friendship: With Prince Phillip, whom he advises when Phillip has found the Graphite Energem and hopes to bond with it.
  • Really 700 Years Old: He has existed for over 100,000 years.
  • Shield Bash: One of his common techniques. He refers to it as "Stego Shield Punch".
  • Super-Strength: He effortlessly lifts a crate, presumably filled with heavy equipment, and Shelby atop it. Note, this is without transforming.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: The "Bronto" burger from the museum's Dino Bite Cafe, and he likes it rare.
  • Undying Loyalty: He views the Rangers as his new family. He's so loyal that a monster of the day who can destroy friendships was unable to break Koda's relationship with them.
  • Unrelated in the Adaptation: In Kyoryuger, the second light blue ranger and her offspring are the younger sister and niece of Koda's counterpart Nossan. Here, they are fused and gender flipped with the Navarros, and obviously have no familial ties to Koda.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: He sleeps in his cave without a shirt. He walks around without one after waking up.
  • What's Up, King Dude?: He greets Prince Phillip with the same eager enthusiasm as he does anyone else.
  • You No Take Candle: Justified as he is a caveman. He does try to avert it though.

Riley Griffin / Dino Charge Green

Riley Griffin/Dino Charge Green

Portrayed by: Michael Taber
Voiced by: Enzo Fortuny (Latin American Spanish dub)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pr_riley.png
When I was growing up on my family's ranch everyone used to make assumptions about me, and they were mostly wrong ones.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dino_charge_green.jpg

Riley Griffin may be quiet, but his intelligence and amazing discipline speak loud and clear. After leaving his family's ranch to defend Earth, Riley's confidence and incredible sword skills have made him a fierce member of the Ranger team. With a love for brainteasers and battling evil, Riley is one well-rounded Ranger.

Dinosaur Spirit: Velociraptor

Gear: Green Energem / Dino Charge Morpher / Dino Com / Dino Saber / Raptor Claw

  • Agent Scully: While certainly smart and talented, he's consistently the most skeptical in the group and is quick to admit his disbelief.
  • Ambiguously Gay: According to Michael Taber, he played Riley as gay and having a thing for Chase.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Showcased in "When Logic Fails", where he can make precise mathematical calculations just by observing things around him. This becomes instrumental in saving his friends, as he calculates the dimensions of the air vent grates and, from there, the force and angle at which he had to throw marbles into each of them so his teammates will locate them.
  • The Blade Always Lands Pointy End In: Riley was shown to have thrown his sword right in the center of a wooden wheel.
  • Competition Freak: Riley can be a bit...pushy when it comes time to compete for something. His pushing himself to beat Fury is one thing, but he could also be a bit.. controlling like when Koda got a chance to be a baseball player. (It's a long story) During the events of "Gone Finishing", he actually declares "competition is fun" early on in the episode.
  • Heroes Love Dogs: Cares very much about his dog, Rubik.
  • Phrase Catcher: At times, many characters said to him remarking that he is playing, which results in...
  • Reverse Grip: Starting from about episode 4, he often holds his Dino Saber like this.
  • The Rival: Due to his rather close encounter with him in the second episode, Riley seems to have developed a rivalry with Fury, albeit a one-sided one on his own part. He explains to Chase in episode 6 that his strict training regime is mostly to prepare himself for their next inevitable encounter.
  • Second Episode Introduction: He doesn't appear at all in the pilot episode.
  • The Smart Guy: Episode 9 firmly establishes him like this.
  • The Spock: Especially in Super Charge, he is quite often uses logic to rationalize every action he and the rangers do.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: To Chase. He is usually the first one to snark or roll his eyes at Chase's antics.
  • Wolverine Claws: His Raptor Claw is set up like this.
  • Younger Than They Look: He's supposed to be the youngest member of the team at 17, but due to Dawson Casting (his actor turned 21 during Dino Charge, and was 22 by the end of Super Charge), he looks the same age as the rest of the rangers.

Shelby Watkins / Dino Charge Pink

Shelby Watkins/Dino Charge Pink

Portrayed by: Camille Hyde
Voiced by: Andrea Orozco (Latin American Spanish dub)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pr_shelby.png
It doesn't seem right. We save the world in the morning and serve them lunch in the afternoon.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dino_charge_pink.png

Shelby Watkins is known to leap before she looks, and her amazing bravery is matched by her incredible knowledge of dinosaurs. She's strong-willed, stubborn and a nightmare for any evil villain. Even though Shelby may seem pretty serious, she also has a softer side... especially when it comes to the Red Ranger.

Dinosaur Spirit: Triceratops

Gear: Pink Energem / Dino Charge Morpher / Dino Com / Dino Saber / Tricera Drill

  • Action Girl: She may be the only girl, but she more than makes up for it by kicking every bit as much ass as the others. Her actress is pretty ripped too.
  • Burger Fool: While all the Rangers work in the museum's Dino Bite Cafe, Shelby's the only one who openly hates the job.
  • Butt-Monkey: She's this in the first few episodes, from having to continue working in the job she hates to getting no respect from Kendall, having her cell phone destroyed by Koda, and making a fool of herself by fumbling the first group morph.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Firmly establishes herself like this in the first episode, in a bit of a contrast to Tyler's more friendly style of banter.
  • Dude Magnet: Chase used to flirt with her, Tyler has a crush on her, and one of the N-Zed Boyz had a crush on her in “The Silver Secret”.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?:
    • Her reaction when Kendall says she has no idea why Shelby was chosen by the pink Energem.
    • She also invokes this with her displeasure of working at the cafe despite the fact that she and her friends are fighting evil aliens and protecting the city.
    • In "Let Sleeping Zords Lie" she complains to the other Rangers that they don't listen to her ideas. It also has a subtle deconstruction as while she does have good ideas, she has no idea how to carry them out, and comes up with them after selfishly drinking everyone else's water.
  • Hidden Depths: A defining point of her character is that people constantly underestimate her. Despite this she invents the E-Tracer, is quick on the fly with plans, and, if the drawings in ep7 are hers, is a pretty good artist to boot.
    • Despite being athletic and having a hatred of princesses, she does have a great love of some boy bands in-universe.
      • And it turns out that with a little practice, she actually has a decent singing voice too.
    • It turns out she comes from a successful business family, and in a way is a bit of an oddball of the family, being more interested in dinosaurs than ice cream.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: The "jerk" part is downplayed but present. In the first stretch of episodes; she thinks her waitressing job is beneath her, has made herself an absolute pain trying to get the paleontology job she thinks she deserves, and stole her team's drinks on a hot day because she was thirsty.
  • Kick Chick: Most of her attacks are kicks, outside of weapon-based moves.
  • Living Forever Is Awesome: Upon learning her Energem makes her The Ageless, she's pretty happy about the prospect of being 18 forever.
  • Love Interest: She's smitten with Tyler, but it's unknown whether he knows and/or reciprocates.
    • Considering how concerned for her Tyler gets when she's on a solo mission or in danger, he probably does both at some level.
    • Rescue Romance: Is likely the case, given the first episode where Tyler backs her up against Iceage is when the two first met.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She's the bustiest Ranger we've seen in a while, and the camera seems to really enjoy showing off her cleavage.
  • Otaku: Of dinosaurs, with triceratops being her absolute favorite.
  • Ship Tease: With Tyler, twice in episode 8 alone. The first is where she happily hugs him after he shows up to finish the Dino Spike combination and destroy the monster, and then at the end of the episode, where she not only recovers his bracelet but also puts it on him. Then when she makes a wish in "Wishing for a Hero", we find out that it was to go on a date alone with Tyler. Tyler starts returning her feelings in "The Silver Secret",and they have an Almost Kiss.
  • Sitcom Archnemesis: To Kendall. The first episode implies that Shelby's been pestering Kendall to go on a dino dig for some time now, and Kendall in turn aims most of her snark at Shelby.
  • This Is a Drill: Her Tricera Drill. Her zord turns into one when forming the Megazord.

Sir Ivan of Zandar / Dino Charge Gold

Sir Ivan of Zandar/Dino Charge Gold

Portrayed by: Davi Santos
Voiced by: Alejandro Orozco (Latin American Spanish dub)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pr_ivan.png
It matters not what path I take, so long as it is the path I have chosen.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dino_charge_gold.jpg

Eight hundred years ago, Ivan was a valiant young knight who dared to challenge Fury for the Gold Energem. Having finally escaped his imprisonment years later, Ivan joins the Power Rangers as the Gold Ranger. He brings legendary skill to the team as he wields a magnificent saber and morpher that doubles as a weapon.

Dinosaur Spirit: Pterodactyl

Gear: Gold Energem / Gold Ptera Morpher / Dino Com / Gold Ptera Saber

  • Adaptational Nationality: Kyoryugers Utsusemimaru was a samurai from Feudal Japan. Ivan is a knight from Zandar, which should be somewhere in Europe.
  • And I Must Scream: He was trapped in Fury's body for 800 years.
  • Antiquated Linguistics: To a degree - instead of "Monster extinct", he says "Monster vanquished" as his Bond One-Liner.
    • "'Tis Morphing Time!"
  • Arm Cannon: His Ptera Morpher can act like this when morphed.
  • Awesome Anachronistic Apparel: His belt buckle and Badass Longcoat, ironically both were obtained in the present day.
  • Badass Cape: His ranger outfit comes with little wings on the back, which look sort of like a half-cape.
  • Cool Sword: His main weapon is the Ptera Saber. It can hold three Dino Chargers at once for full power, although just his Energem alone can do as much.
  • Disappeared Dad: He is the dad in question. At some point, before he met Fury, Ivan fathered a kid. Ivan is just as surprised as everyone else to find his own descendant running around defacing museum property.
    • Identical Grandson: His genes are strong enough to stay completely undiluted after eight centuries.
  • Eternal English: Despite being from somewhere in Europe, and 800 years ago, he doesn't have any real difficulties with modern-day English and doesn't sound completely incomprehensible to viewers. Best not to question it.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: After being absent for 800 years of human development, he is quite amazed by simple things like crossing guards and purses (or old ladies who wield them to beat up thieves). Not to mention dolphins, or the Earth not being flat, or games no longer involving greased pigs...
  • Large Ham: Oh my yes. He solidified his ham status by riding in on a horse while wearing a suit of armor.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Among Ivan's skills is a surprising knowledge of art (not exactly something most knights needs to now).
  • Shipper on Deck: In "Wishing For a Hero", he looks delighted when he mentions that Tyler and Shelby went on a picnic together, like a date.
  • Sixth Ranger: While not the sixth Ranger active (that was the then-unseen Aqua Ranger), he still fills the role of the sixth ranger in every other way.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: His human self was imprisoned inside Fury.
  • Shock and Awe: His abilities are centered around thunder, and so is his zord.

Auxiliary Dino Charge Rangers

Prince Phillip III of Zandar / Dino Charge Graphite

Prince Phillip III of Zandar/Dino Charge Graphite

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pr_phillip.jpg
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Prince Phillip III of Zandar. The real prince.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dino_charge_graphite.jpg

Portrayed by: Jarred Blakiston
Voiced by: Gerardo Alonso (Latin American Spanish dub)

Prince Phillip was saved by the Power Rangers, which turned him from an arrogant royal to a respectful and humble hero. After bonding with the Graphite Energem, Prince Phillip can always be counted on to fight alongside the Rangers when they are in dire need.

Dinosaur Spirit: Pachycephalosaurus

Gear: Graphite Energem / Dino Charge Morpher / Dino Com

  • Abled in the Adaptation: Technically, Tessai was dead for Kyoryuger and acted as a spirit. Phillip is alive and well in Power Rangers.
  • Actually, I Am Him: When they first meet, James flippantly asks (after having met Koda and Sir Ivan) whether Phillip is the prince of Zandar.
  • Adaptational Nationality: Kyoryugers Tessai was a Chinese Monk. Phillip is a prince from Zandar, which should be somewhere in Europe.
  • Back for the Finale: After obtaining his Energem in "Rise of a Ranger", he isn't seen again until the finale "One More Energem", five episodes later.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Prefers to use his hands during fights. His most powerful attack is the Royal Dino Punch.
  • Character Development: Becomes a nicer person after being saved by Koda, and by his second appearance he learns that you can't just throw money at problems to make them go away, they take effort. Showing this, he happily tells the Rangers he will help them whenever they need it in contrast to his contempt with them in their first meeting.
  • Commuting on a Bus: Though the rangers can use his Dino Chargers and zord, Phillip has obligations as the Prince of Zandar and cannot be a regular part of their team. As such, they only call on him in dire need.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: Lead his country in the search for an Energem so he could join the Rangers in their mission. The only trouble is that it took a little time for him to figure out how to activate it.
  • Jerkass: At first, but Koda helps bring out his Jerk with a Heart of Gold capabilities.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: He is (perhaps rightfully) upset at the Rangers' attempt at impersonating him and believes they are endangering or squandering the treasures of his homeland.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: There was a real Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband to one Queen Elizabeth.
  • Odd Friendship: With Koda, who advises him when he finds the Graphite Energem and hopes to bond with it.
  • Royal Brat: Initially, though he starts to get better by the end of his initial appearance.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: He may be a jerk initially, but his acceptance of his ranger responsibilities means he is actually doing something to defend his kingdom and the world.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Even before gaining an Energem; he seems to have spent the time between "Break Out" and "Rise of a Ranger" learning to fight.
  • Use Your Head: Befitting the dinosaur his morph is themed after, he headbutts Hookbeard in combat.

Albert Smith / Dino Charge Purple I

Albert Smith/Dino Charge Purple I

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pr_albert.png
You helped me find my courage. And you also made me realize that I can't remain a Power Ranger.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/albert_ranger.png

Portrayed by: Arthur Ranford
Voiced by: Juan Alfonso Carralero (Latin American Spanish dub)

An eccentric older man who lives out in the woods in New Zealand running Big Foot tours. He tells great stories of the adventures he's had, but in truth, he's a fraud. His only true story is about how he rescued a girl from a mountain, where he discovered the Purple Energem. After using it to keep his town safe, he ultimately hands it over to the rangers in the hope that they can find someone better suited to protecting the Earth.
  • Brought Down to Normal: By choice. He relinquishes the purple Energem when he decides to stay in New Zealand rather than join the rangers.
  • Cool Old Guy: He's a great fighter and in pretty good shape for his age. His only flaw is his bravery, and he's able to get over that by the end of his story as well.
  • Cowardly Lion: He's perfectly brave chasing bike thieves and saving cats from trees, but when faced with actual monsters he panics and hides.
  • Dented Iron: His old age and being on the other side of the planet would have made it difficult for him to be a member of the team.
  • Eyepatch of Power: It's a fake one since he can see out of both eyes.
  • Home Sweet Home: Why he ultimately decides to give up the Energem. New Zealand is his home, and he'd rather protect Auckland than the world.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: He gets along with Tyler the most.
  • Lovable Coward: His outgoing personality and antics make him rather likable despite his reluctance to fight monsters.
  • Obfuscating Disability: Complains about his bad back during a fight, but considering his physical abilities mentions above, it's pretty clear that he's faking to lure his enemies into a false sense of security.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Averted - he lacks most of the skill and courage that the other rangers have.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Albert is a somewhat rugged adventurer (even if he is a bit of a fraud) who has no problems with being the Purple Ranger.
  • Reluctant Hero: When it comes to fighting aliens, which is why he chooses to give up his powers. He still plans to continue his more local heroics, however.
  • Unrelated in the Adaptation: In Kyoryuger, the two purple rangers are grandfather and granddaughter. Albert has no familial ties to his successor Kendall.

Kendall Morgan / Dino Charge Purple II

Kendall Morgan/Dino Charge Purple II

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pr_kendall.png
I rarely make mistakes, but when I do, I correct them.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dino_charge_purple.jpg

Portrayed by: Claire Blackwelder
Voiced by: Jessica Ángeles (Latin American Spanish dub)

Kendall is a brilliant 26-year-old scientist, who provides the Rangers with the support and tough love they need to make it through their adventures. Using her science background, she develops new weapons for the Rangers and repairs their existing ones. When it's time to defend Earth, Kendall joins the team and does anything to protect her fellow rangers.

Dinosaur Spirit: Plesiosaurus

Gear: Purple Energem / Dino Charge Morpher / Dino Com / Dino Saber

  • 11th-Hour Ranger: For the first season, as she doesn't get her powers until the second half of the finale. Once she does have them, though, she proves invaluable in taking down Sledge and Greenzilla.
  • Action Girl: As the Purple Ranger. While she doesn't get in on the action nearly as often as the other rangers, she can be pretty dang impressive when she does.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Appears much sooner than her Kyoryuger counterpart, who did not appear until well into the series' run.
  • Adaptational Modesty: Yayoi wears a Mini Dress Of Power and is a Ms. Fanservice. Kendall is wearing conventional wardrobe, though she did fill the Ms. Fanservice role in a Halloween Episode.
  • Affirmative-Action Legacy: She becomes the second purple ranger after Albert Smith. She's also the first female purple ranger ever, including RJ.
  • Ascended Extra: Appears much sooner than her Kyoryuger counterpart and has a more substantial role.
  • Badass Normal: Is able to hold her own against a swarm of Vivix armed with only a shovel.
  • Berserk Button: She wants people to call her Ms. Morgan and gets annoyed when people call her "Kendall".
    • Subverted in "The Ghostest With the Mostest", where "Koda" calling her Ms. Morgan is what outs him as the fake Ranger since the real Koda is the only person Kendall allows to get away with calling her by her first name.
    • Seemingly defied once she becomes the Purple Ranger, putting her on a more level playing field with the rest of the team. However, in Dino Supercharge they still refer to her as "Ms. Morgan".
    • Finally averted after End of Extinction, when the team returns to the present day and she gives them all permission to call her by her first name.
  • Brainy Brunette: She’s a Gadgeteer Genius with brown hair.
  • Catchphrase: "Good grief!"
  • Deadpan Snarker: Definitely the most unfriendly of snarkers in the show so far, all of which is aimed at Shelby.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Starts the series as a distant and aloof individual, but she soon becomes a genuine friend of the Rangers and supports them wholeheartedly.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She can take the energy of the Energems and refine it using only science technobabble.
  • Insistent Terminology: It's Ms. Morgan, thank you very much.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's first introduced making a lot of mean remarks to Shelby. However, after a few episodes, it's clear that she's really pretty decent (if no-nonsense) towards most people; Shelby just annoys her.
  • Jerkass to One: She acts this way towards Shelby through the series, finding her annoying. She starts to grow out of this as the series progresses.
  • Mission Control: Fulfills this role on more occasions than even Keeper does. She's also responsible for helping to upgrade the arsenal of the rangers.
  • Nerds Are Sexy: Her social skills could use some work, but Heckyl and a buff guy in “Wishing For A Hero” both found her pretty.
  • Not Distracted by the Sexy: In “Wishing For A Hero”, a muscular, handsome guy hits on her, but she’s only annoyed.
  • Omnidisciplinary Scientist: It hasn't really been highlighted much, but she seems to be proficient in paleontology, a few forms of engineering, and computer science, at the very least.
  • One-Steve Limit: She's not the first ranger with a Kendall surname after Lucas Kendall. And of course, she has near-identical names with Kendrix Morgan.
  • Pet the Dog: While she spent a few episodes acting as ungrateful toward Shelby and treating her like she was nothing, during "Let Sleeping Zords Lie" she accepted Shelby's idea how to locate other Energems and allowed Shelby to help her.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Unlike Albert, she is able to take full advantage of the Purple Energem's powers, including taking control of the Plesio Charge Megazord.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: In “The Ghostest With The Mostest”, when she takes off her glasses, wears her hair in a ponytail, and puts on her cupid costume, she looks stunning.
  • Shipper on Deck: In "Wishing For a Hero", she learns that Tyler and Shelby are having a picnic together and asks Ivan with a sly smile if it's a date.
  • Shorter Means Smarter: At least half a foot shorter than the rest of the Rangers, but is undoubtedly one of the most intelligent members.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: To Shelby. She's annoyed by Shelby's incessant requests to go on a dino dig, and so she regularly makes unnecessarily bitchy remarks towards Shelby even after she's a Power Ranger, such as saying to her face she had no idea why she was chosen. She was even all too happy to take off the verbal kid gloves with Shelby in "The Ghostest With the Mostest" under the pretense of her being a fake Ranger. She had realized that Koda was the fake, and was just taking the opportunity to grill Shelby.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: She’s a Gadgeteer Genius who wears glasses.
  • Team Mom: The oldest human member of the Rangers, and the one who takes care of their equipment and monster locators.
  • Two First Names: Morgan is also a popular unisex name.
  • Unrelated in the Adaptation: In Kyoryuger, the two purple rangers are grandfather and granddaughter. Kendall has no familial ties to her predecessor Albert.
  • When She Smiles: Usually stoic, she can bust out a million-watt smile when she wants to.

James Navarro / Dino Charge Aqua

James Navarro/Dino Charge Aqua

Aqua Identity Spoilers
It's me. I'm your dad.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dino_charge_aqua.jpg

Portrayed by: Reuben Turner
Voiced by: Dan Musgrove (English), Mario Castañeda (Latin American Spanish dub)

James is Tyler’s long lost father. His curiosity about the Earth led him to become a geologist. During his last expedition 10 years ago, James disappeared. He had discovered and bonded with the Aqua Energem, but made the hard decision to stay away from his family, keeping both his family and the Energem safe from Fury’s clutches.

Dinosaur Spirit: Ankylosaurus

Gear: Aqua Energem / Dino Charge Morpher / Dino Com / Dino Saber

  • Abled in the Adaptation: As with the situation with Prince Phillip above, James' Kyoryuger counterpart was dead and acted like a spirt for most of the season. James was alive and well during his run.
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Ramirez (James' Kyoryuger counterpart) was fat but James is noticeably skinnier.
  • Adaptational Late Appearance: James' Kyoryuger counterpart appeared very early in his series, while James only appears in ''Dino Super Charge'
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Was seen since the first episode in a photograph and made a brief cameo near the end of the first season, but didn't make an actual debut until the fifth episode of season 2.
  • Chekhov M.I.A.: The Ankylozord waking up in "Let Sleeping Zords Lie" is taken as a sign that the Aqua Energem has been found, but the team has no idea who the Aqua Ranger is or where to find them. It isn't until the start of the second season that they resume the search and even then nothing comes of it until he reveals himself to the others.
  • Commuting on a Bus: Departs at the end of "Forged Under Fire" to put his archaeological skills to use in finding the Silver Energem. When it is revealed to have been found in space, he leaves again at the end of "Gone Fishin'" to look for the crash site of Sledge's ship; he rejoins them after finding it (only to be distracted with the battle against Badussa, long enough for it to escape back into space) and sticks around afterward for the last three episodes of the series.
  • Composite Character: Quite a few. He becomes a ranger along with his son like his sentai counterpart. But since he couldn't be the second silver ranger here due to Zenowing being Spared by the Adaptation, he becomes the aqua ranger. This effectively also makes James a counterpart to both cyan rangers from the source material; he has the gender of the original cyan Ramirez, but has the familial ties to another ranger like Ramirez's successor and Nossan's sister Yuko.
  • Disappeared Dad: Vanished ten years ago. His son starts the series looking for him. It is later revealed that he left Tyler because he was being pursued by Fury, and didn't want his son to be endangered by this.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He briefly appears unmorphed in "Wishing for a Hero" because of Tyler's wish. But because he still thought his presence would be a danger to his son, he fled.
  • Gender Flip: Technically, since he's a Composite Character. The light blue ranger who has familial ties to one of the core rangers in the source material is female, being the blue ranger's younger sister.
  • It's Not You, It's My Enemies: He left Tyler because he was being pursued by Fury, and didn't want to endanger him.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Tyler learns that James is actually his father upon meeting him again.
  • Naïve Newcomer: When he finally joins the Rangers, he has a hard time believing that Koda is an actual caveman, that Ivan is an 800-year-old Knight of Zandar, and that Phillip is the prince of Zandar.
  • Older Than They Look: Thanks to the Energem, he looks about 10 years younger than he should, but doesn't realize the Energem was the cause, or even that it happened until the Rangers filled him in.
  • Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping: Since Reuben Turner has a thick New Zealand accent, Dan Musgrove re-dubbed most of the character's dialogue.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Technically, since he's a Composite Character. The two light blue rangers in Kyoryuger are not related in any way to the red ranger.
  • Unrelated in the Adaptation: Technically, since he's a Composite Character. The second light blue ranger who has familial ties to one of the core rangers in the source material is the blue ranger's younger sister.

Zenowing was once Keeper’s apprentice. Zenowing remained trapped within Doomwing for years until the Rangers discovered him and created a Split Emitter to split them apart. Now free, he fights alongside the Rangers as the Silver Ranger.

Dinosaur Spirit: Titanosaurus

Gear: Silver Energem / Titano Charge Morpher / Dino Com / Titano Saber

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: His Sentai counterpart served as The Mentor of the heroes. Here, he appears within the last fourth of the series.
  • A Pupil of Mine Until He Turned to Evil: Subverted. Zenowing was once Keeper's student, but then Lord Arcanon captured him and created a split personality to use the Silver Energem with. So while Zenowing remains devoted, his body now serves evil due to his evil half Doomwing.
  • Badass in Distress: He finally contacts the team to tell them he's under attack and is in serious danger of losing his energem for good.
  • Bling of War: Several components of his suit that would be silver (belt, sash, pauldron) are gold. Taken further in Dino Drive Mode, where his chest piece is also gold.
  • Chekhov M.I.A.: The rest of the energems are found during the course of Dino Charge, leaving only the silver one still missing when Super Dino Charge starts. Despite Prince Phillip and James's searching, they can't find the Silver Energem anywhere on Earth. As it turns out, it's because it and the Silver Ranger aren't even on Earth in the first place.
  • Cool Sword: His main weapon is the Titano Sword.
  • Demoted to Extra: His Sentai counterpart served as The Mentor of the heroes. Here, he appears within the last fourth of the series and is more of an auxiliary ranger who steps in when needed.
  • 11th-Hour Ranger: The last Ranger to join the team just before the final arc began.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He created the Zords all by himself.
  • Jerkass: Spending several million years stuck with his evil copy made Zenowing rude and callous, telling Riley he deserved to get hurt for trying to assist him. Eventually, however, he grows out of this as he realizes that sharing a body with Doomwing has poisoned his heart somewhat.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Unlike his Sentai counterpart, Zenowing is still alive at the end of the series and is even able to return to his previously destroyed world.
  • Time Abyss: Like Keeper, Zenowing is at least sixty-five million years old.

Dino Zords

    In General
A series of Dinosaur themed Zords created by Zenowing to serve as protectors of the Energems.

    Dino Charge Megazord

Dino Charge Megazord

The core five Rangers' Megazord. Its primary formation is the Tri-Stego Formation, featuring the T-Rex Zord, the Stego Zord, and the Tricera Zord.
  • The Bus Came Back: The Dino Charge Megazord returned in Beast Morphers Grid Connection.
  • Combining Mecha: The Dino Charge Megazord is primarily formed from the T-Rex Zord, the Stego Zord, and the Tricera Zord. It is referred to as Tri-Stego Formation.
  • Cool Sword: When all five Rangers are in the cockpit, the Stego Shield becomes the Stego Saber.
  • Finishing Move:
    • Dino Charge Megazord Tri-Stego Formation:
      • T-Rex Zord Final Strike: The Megazord charges up the T-Rex Zord's head with energy before firing an energy construct of it to chomp down on the enemy with lethal results.
      • Stego Saber Final Slash: With the Stego Saber, the Megazord draws it around in the shape of a full moon before skidding towards the monster, slicing into them and killing them immediately.
    • Dino Charge Megazord Stego-Raptor Formation: Final Flame Strike: The Megazord charges the Raptor Zord with energy from a fireball generated from the T-Rex Zord's head before skidding forward and slashing into the enemy with its energized claws.
    • Dino Charge Megazord Para-Raptor Formation: Para Zord Fireball Finish: The Megazord slashes with the Raptor Zord's tail blades and uses the Para Zord's tail gun to generate an orange fireball before charging it up with green energy and firing it forth right at the enemy, obliterating them on contact.
    • Dino Charge Megazord Tri-Ankylo Formation: Final Hammer Punch: The Megazord spins on the spot, hitting the monster three times. The fourth and final spin has the Megazord upper cutting the monster into the air where they would be blown apart.
    • Dino Charge Megazord Ankylo-Pachy Formation: Pachy Zord Wrecking Ball Final Strike: The Megazord sends the Pachy Zord's wrecking ball zooming towards the monster with enough force to obliterate them in seconds.
  • Leader Forms the Head: The T-Rex Zord forms the majority of the Dino Charge Megazord: the head, shoulders, main body, and legs.
  • Shoulder Cannon: The right shoulder of the Megazord can launch attacks based on the Dino Charger the Rangers use. The left one can also fire attacks, but given that it is stationed at the T-Rex Zord's behind, well...

    Ptera Zord

Ptera Zord

The Gold Ranger's Zord.
  • Badass Cape: When the Ptera Charge Megazord was under Fury's command, it featured a black cape. Once it came back to its senses, it tore it off.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: The Ptera Charge Megazord uses arm blades as its main weapons.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Initially, it was under Fury's command due to containing Ivan within him and used it to fight the Rangers. But once Ivan was freed and became the Gold Ranger, he brought the Zord to the Rangers side with ease due to holding the Gold Energem.
  • The Bus Came Back: The Ptera Zord returned in Beast Morphers Grid Connection.
  • Finishing Move:
    • Ptera Charge Megazord: Ptera Lightning Blitz: The Megazord fires a stream of lightning bolts from the Ptera Zord's mouth capable of obliterating a monster.
    • Dino Charge Megazord Tri-Stego-Ptera Formation: Stego Saber Lightning Charge Final Strike: The Megazord flies up into the air and flies back down, charging up the Stego Saber with golden lightning in the process, before energy slashing the monster with enough force to end them for good.
    • Ptera Charge Megazord Para-Raptor Formation: Para Zord Fireball Finish: The Megazord uses energy from the three Zords to form a massive orange fireball and then, it shoots it from the Para Zord's cannon.
    • Ptera Charge Megazord Pachy Formation: Ptera Lightning Blitz: The Megazord shoots the monster with a blast of lightning from the Ptera Zord's mouth before hitting the opponent in the face with the Pachy Zord Wrecking Ball.
    • Ptera Charge Megazord Para Formation: Para Lightning Blitz: The Megazord unleashes an energy ball of lightning from the Ptera Zord's head before catching it on the end of the Para Zord's cannon. Then, it would fire forth the lightning ball, annihilating the enemy on impact.
    • Ptera Charge Megazord Tricera Formation: Power Drill Final Strike: The Megazord winds up the Tricera Zord's tail, swoops down, and tears through the enemy with incredible speed and force.
    • Dino Charge Megazord Beast-X King Formation: This is a combination attack with the original Megazord and the Thundersaurus Megazord. All three Megazords combine their powers into a devastating orange beam of fire that hits the enemy with enough force to send it into space and explode.
  • Flight: Given that it is a Pterodactyl Zord, the Ptera Zord is one of two Zords that is capable of flying. This follows suit with the Dino Charge Megazord Tri-Stego-Ptera Formation as the wings of the Ptera Zord allow the Megazord to fly.
  • Good Costume Switch: Under Fury's command, the Ptera Charge Megazord featured a cape and closed visors. Once Ivan got command of it, the Megazord open its visor and ditched the cape.
  • Mecha Expansion Pack: The Ptera Zord can combine with the Dino Charge Megazord to form the Dino Charge Megazord Tri-Stego-Ptera Formation. In Grid Connection, the formation became the Dino Charge Megazord Beast-X King Formation after the Megazord gained the the head of the Beast-X King Zord as a shield.
  • Shock and Awe: Like its pilot, the Ptera Zord can control the element of lightning.
  • Transforming Mecha: The Ptera Zord can transform into the Ptera Charge Megazord.

    Plesio Zord

Plesio Zord

The Purple Ranger's Zord.
  • Arm Cannon: The Plesio Charge Megazord is armed with a big Plesio Cannon that is formed from the head of the Plesio Zord. The Plesio Charge Megazord Pachy-Rex Formation uses this cannon as well.
  • Chest Blaster: The Plesio Charge Megazord Pachy-Rex Formation can use the T-Rex Zord's head to fire a T-Rex Blast at the monster.
  • Finishing Move:
    • Plesio Charge Megazord: Galactic Blast: The Megazord pumps the grip on the throat of its Plesio Cannon three times while the Rangers count backwards from three, and then it launches an intense laser beam at the target.
    • Plesio Charge Megazord Pachy-Rex Formation: Galactic Blast: A similar attack to the regular Plesio Charge Megazord.
  • Flight: Thanks to its Rocket Mode, the Plesio Zord can fly.
  • Mecha Expansion Pack: The Plesio Zord can combine with the T-Rex Zord and the Pachy Zord into the Plesio Charge Megazord Pachy-Rex Formation.
  • Rocket Punch: The Plesio Charge Megazord can launch its left fist towards the monster. This attack is called the Plesio Rocket Punch.
  • Transforming Mecha: The Plesio Zord can transform from your standard Plesiosaurus like Zord, to a Rocket ship, and then to the Plesio Charge Megazord.

    Titano Zord

Titano Zord

The Silver Ranger's Zord.
  • All Your Powers Combined: The Titano Zord is powered by not only the Titano Charger, but one copy of all the Auxiliary Dino Chargers. This allows the Zord to perform attacks that the Rangers can perform with their Dino Charge Morphers.
  • BFG: The Dino Charge Ultrazord can reform its backpack and form the Titano Cannon.
  • Brutish Character, Brutish Weapon:
    • The big and strong Titano Charge Megazord wields the Titano Ax as its main weapon.
    • Likewise, the Dino Charge Ultrazord wields the Titano-Raptor Ax, a giant spear formed from the Titano Ax and the Raptor Zord.
  • Finishing Move:
    • Titano Charge Megazord: Final Colossal Crush: The Megazord uses the Titano Ax, filled with the Rangers' energy along with those of the 13 Auxiliary Dino Chargers to deliver a devastating chop.
    • Dino Charge Ultrazord:
      • Ultra Plasma Final Blast: The Ultrazord shoots a powerful seven-pronged beam consisting of the energy from all 23 Dino Chargers from its chest armor.
      • Titano Cannon Final Strike: After forming the Titano Cannon, the rest of the Dino Zords come to the Ultra Zord and send their energy into the Cannon. Then, the Ultrazord fires the Titano Cannon with an immense blast of energy, vanquishing the monster.
  • Mecha Expansion Pack: The Titano Zord can combine with the first five Dino Zords to form the Dino Charge Ultrazord.
  • Shoulder Cannon: In the Dino Charge Ultrazord formation, the Para Zord forms a cannon on its left shoulder.
  • Transforming Mecha: The Titano Zord can transform into the Titano Charge Megazord.

    Spino Charge Megazord

Spino Charge Megazord

A Megazord combination featuring the Spino Zord, the Akylo Zord, and the Pachy Zord.
  • Adaptational Heroism: The Spino Charge Megazord was never Brainwashed and Crazy like its Sentai Counterpart, so it never fought the Rangers.
  • Adaptational Late Appearance: The Spino Zord and the Spino Charge Megazord made their first appearance in the Kyoryuger summer movie. Here, they appear three episodes before the end of Dino Charge.
  • Combining Mecha: As stated above, the Spino Charge Megazord is a result of the Spino Zord, the Akylo Zord, and the Pachy Zord combining.
  • Dual Wielding: The Spino Charge Megazord's main weapons are the Spino Boomerang and the Spino Defender.
  • Finishing Move:
    • Spino Charge Megazord: Spino Boomerang Whirlwind Finish: The Megazord hurtles the Spino Boomerang at the opponent before spinning around them like a top and repeatedly striking them with the Ankylo Zord Hammer Punch and Pachy Zord Wrecking Ball.
    • Spino Charge Megazord Para-Raptor Formation: The Megazord creates an orb that is shot from the Para Zord's cannon before locking the opponent inside the enlarged orb and performing a slashing attack with the Raptor Zord's tail blades.

Allies

    Keeper

Keeper

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pr_keeper.jpg
I mean you no harm. Gather the bravest among you. I need your help.

Portrayed by: Eve Gordon (on-set actress)
Voiced by: Richard Simpson (English), José Luis Orozco (Latin American Spanish dub)

The caretaker of the Energems, who crashed on Earth millions of years ago and gave the Energems to ten dinosaurs for safekeeping.

  • Accidental Murder: Or in his case, "Accidental Genocide". His bomb that damages Sledge's ship releases the asteroids it was hauling and causes the extinction of the dinosaurs.
  • Brought to You by the Letter "S": His belt buckle is an "x" shape.
  • Dub Name Change: His French and Spanish name is The Guardian. Same meaning though, he guards the Energems.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": The keeper of the Energems, known as Keeper.
  • Face Death with Dignity: Upon realizing there's no escape from the barrage of asteroids, he simply stands face to face with his impending doom without flinching. He survives though.
  • Guile Hero: With Fury on his tail, he tricked him into bringing his crystal bomb back to Sledge instead of the Energems.
  • Heroic Spirit: He possesses a "warrior's spirit" that, when infused into the components of the Spino Zord, brought it to life.
  • Playing Possum: This is how he tricks Fury, by playing dead and leaving a canister near him that Fury assumed was carrying the Energems.
  • Somebody Set Up Us the Bomb: In Powers from The Past, Keeper swaps the Energems with his own crystal bomb. Nice Job Breaking It, Hero, indeed.
  • Staff of Authority: He carries a big spear-like staff with him. He also uses it to fight. In episode 20, it gets separated from him, and he suddenly becomes unable to fight.
  • The Mentor: While Kendall handles technical issues the rangers have, Keeper's responsible for the more mystical issues they might face and gives advice to the rangers if they are troubled by something.
  • Time Abyss: He sounded old when we first see him, and that was sixty-five million years ago.

    Matt Griffin

Portrayed by: Alexander Walker

    Moana

Police? Ugh, they think I'm crazy!

Portrayed by: Patricia Vichman

A quirky yet wise matakite, or Maori fortune teller, who gave Chase his Energem after he helped rescue her kitten Tabitha.

  • Cool Old Lady: The oldest (human) ally the rangers have.
  • Fortune Teller: Specifically one from New Zealand.
  • Secret-Keeper: Played with. She doesn't outright get to see the Rangers morphing or fighting monsters, but it's made clear she knows they have special powers, gave the team information on the amulet stolen from her shop, and she knows about the Energems, as seen when she gave Chase the black Energem after he saved her cat (since the Energems respond to selflessness) and she saw its energy course through Chase's body, and earlier in the episode, she mentions Chase having special strengths while she looks at his Energem.

    Kaylee

Kaylee

Played By: Elizabeth Dowden
Chase's girlfriend in Dino Super Charge.
