It looks so good! The graphics and animations are amazing, the characters have so much personality, and the worlds look stunning.

Could go either way. Dragonrend wouldn't work on Spyro and Cynder, though, because of how that particular Shout works and the differences between the dragons of each universe.

^{Initial answer to the wrong question} I'm getting Shield because Ponyta has stolen my heart, but it's nice to see Farfetch'd finally get an evolution after all these years. The fact that its signature move requires a recharge turn afterwards is disappointing, though.

New answer to the intended question: The most I can think of is "be aware of both extremes and know when you're going too far in either direction." Beta readers would probably help as well, since they might catch things the writer has glossed over.

How do you think one can balance a work (like, say, a film or a fanfic) from being too dark and edgy (which creates the Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy effect) and being too lighthearted (which causes the Tastes Like Diabetes problem)?

Hmm.. sorry if this seems like a non-answer, but it depends on the kind of genre you're going for. It's okay to make a story dark and edgy, and it's also okay to make it lighthearted, as long as those things aren't done gratuitously. I guess the important thing is that, in either case, the audience has to have a reason to care about the characters.

Dark Kahn as a character was kinda bland, but hey, he's Darkseid + Shao Kahn. And Shao Kahn is one of my favorite villains ever.

A Final-Exam Boss who forces you to use every trick you've learned in the game. Get greedy with your hits and they counter with a deadly blow, but if you're too careful and try to keep a distance after every hit, they're capable of closing the gap to go for a heavy hit. In other words, you need to find the perfect balance between caution and aggression, and if you veer too far to either end the boss punishes you.

How would you make the most ideal Boss Fight if you're making a game?

While implicit, this paragraph from Humans Are Flawed made my blood boil with indescribable rage:

"This is a typical fantasy/sci-fi Aesop that gets referenced in other genres. Essentially, the Aesop is we are Cursed with Awesome. If the story has a Fantastic Aesop against removing one of the above human flaws to better mankind, this trope is usually invoked as the reason why it's wrong."

And of FUCKING course does this trope uses Science Is Bad unironically as an argument to why we should not improve our flawed nature, despite the obvious problems that our limitations inflict us with (genetic diseases, high physical maintenance, biological aging, primitive instincts, mental illnesses, etc). Just because human flaws are natural does not make them okay, especially if they cause us to inflict sentient suffering upon ourselves and animals alike, directly or indirectly.
