Apparently Abandoned Pages

I think these pages could just be cut for still having problems after all this time. In order to be fair about this, I think only pages that are works pages that have had ample time to be fixed ought to be on this list. I'd consider a page "abandoned" if the only most reent edits were (a) 6+ months ago and/or (b) only minor clean-up (e.g. namespacing, formatting, wick clean-up).

I mean, if the page creators don't care enough to do the work, then...

This first list is just testing the waters here, and some of these pages may not actually be "abandoned." I'm just listing pages that were reported some time ago and that still have problems.

I do thankyou very much (just one example - Yakuza: Dead Souls had one ZCE example before I crosswicked several examples), the stub page notifier links to this thread and as it says stub works need to be processed here, especially if the editor has problem so the Mods can take care of it

I can see why you might think that was a personal comment to you, since your comment came right before mine, but I really was not talking to you — or anyone — specifically.

I was trying to say "Hey, look how many dozens of tropes and works we have on our plate right now; could you (general you) comment on some of the things we have on the table so we can send stuff to the cut list or back to TLP?"

I wasn't talking about wiki-side stuff but thread-side stuff, like the discussion of these wiki pages.

Extremely Short Intro Sequence had everything removed and replaced with "This page was prematurely launched. Unlaunch this please." a few days ago. The examples have since been added bac but that line is still on top.

The three requested unlaunches have been executed.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"

I've been saying for a while that any stub work should get a message, then cutlisted if not de-stubbed in 3-7 days. In fact, apply that to every single work page Water Blap mentioned. I'll gradually get through the tropes. By the way, we really need more people to comment on newly-launched tropes that have been brought up. Including mods, for that matter. These tropes get launched, come up here the next day, and then just fester and spread through the wiki because we can't take action because only two or three people comment on them.

Speaking of which, there's a weird situation with Music.Jacob Elmer. Someone made a TLP for it. Then zarpaulus made a stub (one-line description, no tropes) and told the OP not to use TLP and just launch the stub. That seems... odd.

YMMV.Robot X Laserbeam is one Unfortunate Implications that might need a citation, it says the offending material was withdrawn but I don't know if that is enough for the Mods

I agree on cutting all the newly launched tropes Larkmann mentioned. Especially Where They Were, since it is "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue but more specific. Ending tropes can apply regardless of whether they are ending tropes for a smaller work in a larger series or for the series in general.

FanWorks.Titanic Despair looks like it is in the wrong namespace, no tropes a blank page at Fanfic.Titanic Despair, no link to the work, almost no description, etc, etc

I don't know what's wrong with Pregnancy Test Plot though. Why the cut?

EDIT: Okay, chairs are the reason. Even I wasn't 100% sure if pregnancy tests were tropeable when I launched it, except just to add to the drama/hijinks for a expecting woman.

If I may, should this be cut, add this to the Trope Epitaph:

On All Canadian Police Are Mounties:

That's weird. All Canadian Police Are Mounties was launched by Toxic Holy Grenade months ago, yet the draft is without the "Troped" mark... Was the launched trope a duplicate or something?

Also, do we need to transplant the description to the draft?

And I know that it's been four months, but can some of the drafts launched by Toxic Holy Grenade be unlaunched, since they were improperly launched?

To recall, the launched tropes were All Canadian Police Are Mounties, Disgruntled Chef, Jerk-to-Nice-Guy Plot, and Friendship as Courtship; the last two don't have drafts, yet it's been stated that they have been launched from YKTTW.

At this point I'd say "If they were abandoned, not crosswicked, or complete, or if they have significant problems, then I'd vote to send back. Otherwise, keep."

There are only a few wicks on the tropes mentioned. And I think Jerk-to-Nice-Guy Plot sounds similar to Took a Level in Kindness, or it's just me.

And I've checked the TLP Launch List, and these tropes are not there.

Ooh, I forgot what tropes were launched and I got ninja'd, LOL. I could support sending those back. There apparently is a bug in TLP where if you don't technically finish the whole process, the draft doesn't say "launched" and it stays in TLP even though the page is up. Not sure if that's what happened.

On another note Brig Ball Bouncing was just launched with a terrible name (I honestly thought it was a case of Trope Namer Syndrome because "brig ball" sounds like it could be a thing, but apparently it is not). People in the draft were still talking about the name when it was launched (as recently as December 5, by the way). The launcher pretty much ignored those comments.

Also, it had 6 hats and 2 bombs, leaving it with a net of 4 hats. Somebody pointed this out to the launcher and he responded by saying "as far as i know those 2 discards do not automatically cancel out 2 of the 6 hats." They were recently suspended and told to "please try to learn the protocols if you want to keep participating." This rhetoric of "as far as I know" seems to be more "Rookie Mistake" Excuse.

Codiekitty was created over 2 years ago and has pretty much zero tropes that aren't Zero Context Examples.

I sent the person that created the page an editing message 3 days ago but they haven't responded.

When you add a bomb it literally says "you're saying this draft has a launch hat it doesn't deserve"... The system isn't great but it'd sure work a lot better if people read.
