Removing Gushing from the Wiki

It's called Awesome MOMENTS. A character's model isn't a moment. They probably should be cut entirely.

Actually, the whole "Meta" section seems to be misuse, with the other examples looking like Troper Tales.

Good point. Should this thread be mentioned in the edit reason? I forget if that’s what we usually do with edits when they’re brought into these threads.

Stephen Fry is very gushy and fan-boy/fan-girl-like.

I like him and I think he's fairly cool, but it's too much for my taste. I tried to tone it down a bit, but more help is needed. A second pair of eyes would be most welcome.

The page also had quite a bit of troping his life which I already removed (as per Creator Page Guidelines).

I came upon Daughters of the Moon while removing Complete Monster potholes, and it seems very gushy.

Tofie seems... pretty creepily gushy at parts

This was found on the Dueling Works: Western Animation page underneath South Park vs The Boondocks:

"Do you even need to ask? Of course South Park! It's been around much longer, still on the air, still being praised for its humor (after being derided in its early days for being a vulgar Grossout Show), and its satire is sharper than ever. While The Boondocks had usually also been well-received, its fourth (and final) season got a lot of backlash due to its creator Aaron McGruber leaving the show."

The first three sentences really need to be reworded to come off as less-fanboyish.

On WesternAnimation.Danny Phantom, I've recently stumbled across the first 9 episodes of the series being called "The Magnificent Nine". I have never heard that being called that before. Did someone just wanted to gush about the first 9 episodes?

Awesome.Minion Quest The Search For Bowser is probably the single gushiest page on the entire wiki.

At the very least, the examples that say "the whole game is this" can be deleted, as Awesome/ is for moments, and the entire game is not a moment.

Did that. Still pretty gushy though.

Awesome.Mad Max Fury Road is also pretty gushy. The very first sentence on the page says it all.

Christina Grimmie's page is the gushiest page on a real-life person I've ever seen.

I love how it's trying to apply an anime character design trope (Tsurime Eyes) to a real person.

Would an index that lists tropes prone to gushing be of any use to the wiki? Things like Reality Ensues, Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped, and Deconstruction come to mind.

No, I am pretty sure it wouldn't help at all. Besides, there is a precedent (Needs an Index) against making such indexes.

ComicStrip.Calvin And Hobbes seems to be pretty gushy.

I know Heartwarming is obviously very gushy, but on Heartwarming.Channel Awesome, somebody just added a gushy example about Doug Walker that linked to an archive of the cut page Heartwarming.Doug Walker, which feels like an attempted Loophole Abuse because that page was cut.

Found this on Trivia.Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout:

YMMV.Sponge Bob Square Pants S 2 E 15 The Secret Box Band Geeks, particularly the Band Geeks section is really gushy. Especially with entries like these:

• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Why the Bubble Bowl takes place on land, watched by a crowd of live-action humans is never foreshadowed, explained, or referred to in any way. Then again, this is SpongeBob we're talking about here...

• Catharsis Factor: One of the major reasons for its enduring popularity, as the increasing levels of cosmically unjust torture Squidward suffers in the show’s Seasonal Rot only makes this episode grow more satisfying with age. For the first time in the entire series, Squidward actually won, his hard work pays off, everyone else pitches in to help him out, and Squilliam quite possibly suffers an abrupt heart attack and dies. This is a major part of the reason many fans consider it an unofficial series finale - it's a good way to end it off.

• Ensemble Dark Horse: Debuting in one of the best-received, if not the best-received Nicktoons episodes ever would most likely have granted Squilliam this honor by default, but he's gone on to be one of the show's most popular supporting characters, if nothing else then certainly due to the fact that episodes he appears in usually end in victories for Squidward.
