Goop: The Comic is an online web comic. The comic is about the titular protagonist Goop, a rare purple gooptar living in the Gooptar Kingdom on the planet Gooptonia, somewhere in the Garon (as human knows it, Andromeda) galaxy.
The comic centers around Goop's various adventures and his attempts to keep the Gooptar Kingdom (and the rest of the planet) safe from the nefarious clutches of the diabolical sorceror King Grex, his dense lackeys Moki and Shelldon, and a host of other ridiculous villains. Goop is accompanied on his adventures by his friends Bing, Tawnya, and Draclo, his girlfriend Princess Blossom, and the wise (and sometimes forgetful) elder Marco.

Tropes used in Goop: The Comic
- Amazing Technicolor Population: The comic is in black and white, but Goop is said to be purple. This later turns out to be a plot point in the fourth episode.
- Awesome Aussie: Based on the way Frogrump talks (using words such as "mate" and "bloke"), he seems to have an Australian accent.
- Badass Mustache: King Grex has a long flowing one.
- Bad Boss: King Grex is rather verbally abusive to Moki and Shelldon.
- Big Bad: King Grex
- Big Guy, Little Guy: Moki and Shelldon
- Bizarre Sexual Dimorphism: Female gooptars appear to be at least a foot taller than the males.
- Bounty Hunter: Frogrump is one.
- Butt-Monkey: Moki to a T. The Captain of the Guard also seems to be one as of Episodes 101 and 103. He is eaten by Snaptrap in the former and burnt to a crisp in the latter.

- Cosmic Keystone: The Magic Opals, ancient egg-shaped artifacts that contain the energy of the planet Gooptonia

- Dumb Muscle: Shelldon appears to serve this purpose. He's not very bright, but does his fair share of damage to his cohort Moki.

- Fat Bastard: Frogrump, the main antagonist of Episode 103. He's incredibly large and just as arrogant.
- Five-Man Band: The main five characters form one.

- For the Evulz: Snaptrap and Dreadwood don't appear to have had any real motivation in their attacks, but it's hinted that Snaptrap had something to do with King Grex.
- Frozen in Time: An interesting case. The kingdom is a monarchy, has a stone castle, and an army of guards armed with spears. However, episodes 102 and 103 show that modern technology such as computers, the Internet, and even futuristic freeze rays exist.
- Goldfish Poop Gang: Moki and Shelldon (along with any Minions they may have in tow with them)
- Instant Leech: Just Fall in Water!: Not necessarily an exact example, but close enough. As shown in Episode 103, Shelldon has several pet Leeches, numbering anywhere higher than twenty. For the majority of the episode, they are completely ignored by the other characters, only appearing as black markings on the walls in the background. Towards the episode's end, Moki notices them and asks what they are, to which Grex responds that he has no idea and theorizes that they are due to an error on the artist's part. Shelldon then enters the room, looking for them. It is hinted that afterwards, the leeches attack Moki and King off-panel.
- Jive Turkey: Snaptrap the planet has a tendency to speak in bits of jive here and there.
- Jungle Japes: The Vile Vine Jungle serves as one.
- Leeroy Jenkins: The Captain of the Guard says this verbatim while attacking Snaptrap in Episode 101.
- MacGuffin: The Magic Opals
- Man-Eating Plant: Snaptrap eats both the captain of the guard and Goop himself in the first episode. They get better, though.
- Minion with an F in Evil: Shelldon. He's not exactly the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.
- Official Couple: Goop and Princess Blossom. Their relationship is hinted at in the first episode, but the end of Episode 103 cements this.
- Our Dragons Are Different: Draclo is supposed to be a dragon, but more closely resembles a wyvern.
- Playing with Fire: Frogrump utilizes fire breath and a flaming staff.
- Product Placement: When Moki and Shelldon are on a suspiciously-YouTube-like video website, there's an advertisement for a car insurance company called "Goopco".
- Punny Name: Shelldon, obviously.
- Really 700 Years Old: By human standards, Marco doesn't look that old. But he claims to be 282-years old.
- Shapeshifter: Goop is revealed to be one in the fourth episode, due to being a rare purple gooptar born once every millenium.
