Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday is a Licensed Game based on Looney Tunes, developed by Phoenix Interactive Entertainment and published by Acclaim and Sunsoft for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995.

One night, Porky is about to fall asleep after reading a brochure for the Dry Gulch amusement park, where he plans to take his next vacation. As he falls asleep, he starts having nightmares where he encounters different scary characters. In order to wake up, Porky must defeat them and clear all six levels.

You play as Porky Pig and travel through six different levels that take place in his nightmares. Porky can attack enemies by jumping on them or throwing fruit once he finds a fruit bowl. Each level ends with a boss battle.

This game provides exam-xam-xam-xam-samples of:

  • All Just a Dream: Each level in this game takes place in one of Porky's nightmares.
  • Anvil on Head: To defeat Yosemite Sam in Dry Gulch, Porky must deflect his gunfire by launching a frying pan into the air so that it will cut the rope holding the 16-ton anvil suspended above him.
  • Big Boo's Haunt: The sixth and final level takes place in a haunted castle inhabited by a vampire Daffy Duck, who serves as the game's Final Boss.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: Hugo the Abominable Snowman serves as the boss of the Alps. He attacks Porky by making snowballs fall from the sky and by throwing Snowballs at Porky. Porky must jump on him when he gets ready to throw a snowball.
  • Canary in a Coal Mine: The boss of the Abandoned Mine is Hyde Tweety from Hyde and Go Tweet.
  • Continue Countdown: When you lose all your lives, you are sent to the continue screen, where you have nine seconds to decide whether or not you want to continue the game. If you press Start before time runs out, you get to continue the game, but if you don't, you're sent back to the title screen.
  • Edible Ammunition: If Porky finds a fruit bowl, he can attack enemies by tossing fruit at them.
  • Ghastly Ghost: Spooky Sid, a giant ghost, serves as the boss of the Haunted Woods. He attacks Porky by summoning smaller ghosts from his hat. His weak point is his head, which can only be damaged when he removes his hat.
  • Go-to-Sleep Ending: Inverted; the game begins with Porky planning his vacation (without suspecting the haunted aspect of it) while in his bed and then falling asleep and encountering all manners of bizarre and horrific creatures that have plagued his journeys and cartoons. At the end of the game, Porky seems to be able to continue his sleep peacefully this time... but then several eyes start staring at him in the dead of the night making it clear that the nightmares are real, and leading him to wake up for good and flee for his life.
  • Goomba Stomp: Porky's main method of attacking enemies is by jumping on them.
  • Idle Animation: Leave Porky alone for a few seconds and he will stutter. Leave him alone long enough and he will shiver.
  • Indy Escape: In the Abandoned Mine, Porky has to outrun giant boulders rolling after him or risk getting squished.
  • Jekyll & Hyde: Hyde Tweety from Hyde and Go Tweet serves as the boss of the Abandoned Mine. Defeating him turns him back into Tweety.
  • Law of 100: Collecting 100 cupcakes grants Porky an extra life.
  • Literal Metaphor: In the Wackyland section of the Alps, it rains cats and dogs.
  • Logo Joke: When you start up the game, the Sunsoft logo appears split horizontally in two from the top and bottom of the screen and connects as a fanfare plays. Aero the Acro-Bat flies onto the logo, then jumps off and flies away as the logo breaks into pieces.
  • The Lost Woods: The first level takes place in the Haunted Woods. Enemies in this stage include goblins, ghosts, magical walking cauldrons, spiders, leprechauns and bats. There's also a tree with a 3D rotating effect.
  • Magical Mystery Doors:
    • Near the end of Dry Gulch, Porky comes to a hotel that is basically a maze of doors that lead him to different rooms. Porky must find the exit door.
    • The Wackyland section of the Alps have doors that lead Porky to different rooms, and he must find the one that leads to the exit.
  • A Mischief of Mice: Mice with boxing gloves serve as common enemies in the castle.
  • Painful Pointy Pufferfish: Pufferfish serve as common enemies in Atlantis. Porky has to hit them when they're deflated or he takes damage.
  • Piranha Problem: Piranhas serve as common enemies in Atlantis, the Alps, and the Castle. They attempt to attack Porky by jumping out of the water.
  • Public Domain Soundtrack: "In the Hall of Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg serves as the background music for the Abandoned Mine.
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World: The first part of the Alps take place in a snowy mountain, where Porky has to avoid enemies while riding a ski lift. After making his way through Wackyland, Porky must battle Hugo the Abominable Snowman.
  • Stationary Boss:
    • Yosemite Sam in Dry Gulch and Hugo the Abominable Snowman in The Alps do not move from their spots during Porky's battles with them.
    • The vampire Daffy Duck stays on his throne during the final battle, instead sending Herman, his robot, to attack Porky.
  • Super Not-Drowning Skills: Porky can spend all of Atlantis underwater without having to worry about drowning. Justified since the levels all take place in his dreams.
  • That's All, Folks!: In true Looney Tunes fashion, this appears as the Game Over screen, regardless of whether you lose all your lives or beat the game.
  • Threatening Shark: Willie Great White, a great white shark, serves as the boss of Atlantis.
  • Under the Sea: Much of the third level, Atlantis, takes place underwater. The level begins with Porky riding a raft while dodging vultures and piranhas. When the raft sinks, Porky finds himself in a pirate shipwreck, then in sunken ruins.
  • Underground Level: The fourth level takes place in an abandoned mine, where Porky has to deal with rolling boulders, bats, swinging weights, and slime monsters. The boss of this level is Hyde Tweety.
  • Vile Vulture: Vultures serve as enemies in Atlantis and the Alps. They attack Porky by swooping down at him.
  • Wackyland: Much of the fifth level, the Alps, takes place in the Trope Namer itself, a delusional landscape where it literally rains cats and dogs.
  • The Wild West: The second level takes place in Dry Gulch Town. Hazards include tumbleweeds, and speeding trains, and enemies include caged hooligans and moose trophies with rifle barrels showing from their mouths. The boss of this stage is Yosemite Sam.
