Phight!

PHIGHTING! is a team-based third-person combat Roblox game created by Boggio. Its first playtest released in February 2022, and as of February 2024, PHIGHTING! is currently in alpha. With 14note  different characters to play as, its action-packed gameplay is able to be accessed in both Mobile and PC formats.

In PHIGHTING!, characters known as demons roam the world. They are humanoids who each possess horns, which, if removed entirely, the demon will die. Everyone is assigned a gear at creation, which they automatically know how to use. These gears in question are classic Roblox gears, which the characters themselves are based after.

The main central hub, Crossroads, connects the four regions, Blackrock, Lost Temple, Playground, and Thieves' Den, which are located at each cardinal direction. Demons, both in-universe and in-game, meet there. It serves as the main lobby.

There are 13 playable characters, known as Phighters:

PHIGHTING! provides examples of the following tropes:

  • And Your Reward Is Clothes: After every Phestival, the winning team's reward would be a new character outfit.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Sword's secondary attack pierces through shields; most notably Boombox's shield.
  • Barrier-Busting Blow: Hyperlaser's Phinisher gets rid of Boombox's shield entirely, granting him another bullet to shoot.
  • Color-Coded Characters: Every playable Phighter and NPC is associated with one primary color.
  • Combatant Cooldown System: Every attack, except for a Phighter's primary attacknote , has a cooldown.
  • Cosmetic Award: Completing an achievement gets you a customizable title or emote.
  • Dash Attack: Sword's E ability.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Played with. The letter F in words are replaced with "Ph" to match the word Phighting.
    • The playable characters are called Phighters.
    • A Phighter's Special Attack is called a Phinisher.
    • Every now and then, Splatfest-like events called Phestivals are held.
  • Glass Cannon: Biograft. They excel in dealing rapid amounts of heavy damage, but have the lowest health and shield compared to the rest of the Phighters. To top it off, they have a heat meter that allows them to attack faster, but will cause them to explode if it reaches its capacity.
  • The Grappler: Katana is the slowest character in-game, but once an enemy gets within his grasp, it's hard to escape him. He can pull in enemies using his Q ability, Thread Tow, and attack them there.
  • Horned Humanoid: All characters except Hyperlaser have horns.
  • Healing Shiv: Medkit's form of attack is a gun filled with healing cartridges—curing cartridges, as they are called. They heal allies, but deal damage to enemies.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Skateboard and Boombox. You wouldn't normally see a skater and a DJ on the battlefield!
  • Kick Them While They Are Down: Skateboard's Phinisher freezes enemies in place. This allows him to repeatedly ram into his foes while they cannot fight back.
  • Rocket Jump: As Rocket's name suggests, he is able to do this. Heck, his Q ability is called Rocket Jump. You can pair this with his Secondary attack to jump even higher.
  • Shotoclone: Sword has a projectile attack (his secondary, Blade Beam), a rising anti-air (his Q ability, Dolphin Slash), and an attack that rushes forward (his E ability, Lunge).
  • Shout-Out:
    • This game absolutely loves Splatoon, with several obvious references, such as having a two-person in-universe idol group that hosts semi-regular ingame team-based competitions, special music for the final minute of every round, a remix of the aforementioned song by the also aforementioned idol group, and even the gameplay itself - that is, a third-person shooter that pits two small teams against each other, with a special attack for big pushes.
    • Rhythm Heaven also receives a couple, mostly as samples in a couple of songs (notably DODGEBRAWL).
  • Spin Attack: Banhammer's E ability.
  • Sudden Death: If a round ends with a tied score, the game goes into overtime. Once one team has the advantage over the other, a 10 second timer counts down unless the other team ties the score again. The longer overtime goes on for, the shorter the timer will become.
  • Theme Naming: All Phighters are named after their gear. Near-every character is generally named after an accessory or gear item on Roblox.
  • Trap Master: Subspace. He specializes in area denial, littering invisible mines across the map that inflict poison damage.
  • Weapon Specialization: Each Phighter has a unique gear to their name that they fight with.
