Recap / The Real Ghostbusters S 6 E 9 The Slob

Go To

On a hot day, the Ghostbusters are frustrated with both the heat and the flies that they're failing to kill. They're also bored, since they haven't had a call all week. Meanwhile, Professor Dweeb is driving around the city trying to hunt ghosts with his new invention. Elizabeth is with him, still just as semi-anthropomorphic as she was in the "Slimer" shorts.

He parks outside the firehouse with him and Elizabeth in disguise, then a portal opens in the sky, out of which falls a monster. The monster appreciates some trash, then knocks on the firehouse door. Slimer lets him in, and Dweeb enters disguised as a vacuum cleaner salesman. The Ghostbusters are fooled, but Slimer isn't, then Dweeb tries to suck him up. He sucks up other stuff too, then Peter throws a chair, which blocks the machine, then it sucks up Janine's desk, which pins him to the wall. The machine then sucks the desk up completely, followed by Dweeb's head, who stumbles out of the firehouse.

He gets his head unstuck, then Elizabeth pops out and both of them are grabbed by the monster. He reveals that he's also a ghost and offers to help Dweeb catch Slimer in exchange for freeing the Sleaze (from the "Slimer" short "Don't Tease the Sleaze"), who he reveals to be his brother.

The Ghostbusters and Slimer clean up, and then they get a call, which turns out to be Dweeb and the big ghost lying. The Ghostbusters and Slimer arrive at their destination, a dirty, abandoned area that was abandoned due to the garbage disposal workers going on strike. There, they meet the big ghost, who they try to fire at but they miss and he spits trash bags at them.

Dweeb and Elizabeth go to the containment unit and bait the Sleaze using a rotten sub. Then, Dweeb removes the Sleaze using an invention. Back at the abandoned area, the Ghostbusters are still failing to bust the big ghost, who they note is similar to the Sleaze, and who then kidnaps Slimer. Egon then sees a light flashing in the Ecto-1, which he explains means there's a breach in the containment unit.

Egon and Ray head home while the others look for Slimer, then Egon checks the unit and determines that one ghost was freed. They determine that this is the Sleaze, and his brother is the Glob. They go into Ecto-2 and inform Peter and Winston, and then everyone agrees to meet up at the dump, where Dweeb and Elizabeth are. Dweeb gives the Glob the Sleaze, and Glob gives Dweeb Slimer. The Sleaze grabs Slimer and he and Dweeb have a tug-of-war over him, ending on the ghost brothers locking Dweeb and Elizabeth in a giant birdcage.

Peter and Winston arrive, then the ghostly brothers merge into one ghost, the Slob. They zap him, but then he flies away and brings furniture to life. The Sleaze separates himself from the Glob and then grabs Slimer again, but then Ray and Egon arrive. They attack, but Sleaze crashes the Ecto-2 with a bowling ball.

Then, Winston gets a call revealing that the Slob is attacking Manhattan, so they set off. Meanwhile, Dweeb and Elizabeth have escaped and are driving off to try to catch Slimer again. Egon and Ray, in a plane, determine that the Slob may be immune to proton streams, but the Sleaze and Glob can be trapped individually.

The Ghostbusters force Dweeb to help them by tricking Sleaze into thinking he's caught Slimer. This allows Ray and Egon to trap Glob and Peter and Winston to trap Sleaze. Dweeb then shakes Slimer's hand with a robot arm, that entangles him, then Slimer puts him on a garbage truck.
