During Lone Moose's white elephant gift exchange, a singing Christmas animatronic toy named Skanky that Beef previously got rid of makes its return and the Tobin kids plan on getting it back despite Beef's objection. Meanwhile, Moon reveals he kept a reindeer, which he named Wilhelm, that followed him from the Santa's Village and secretly brings him to the white elephant gift exchange with Judy and Ham's help.

Tropes:

  • Animation Bump: Wolf's tantrum when he's angrily shouting over Honeybee not stealing back Skanky looks a lot more smooth than the rest of the episode.
  • Broken Base: In-Universe, the Tobin kids, Vera, and Santiago love the Skanky toy. On the other hand, Beef, Londra, and Honeybee hate it.
  • Boastful Rap: The end credits has Skanky and Sleazy rapping how they're the bad boys of Christmas.
  • Brutal Honesty: After Wilhelm gives birth, Moon declares that he doesn’t need any Christmas presents because he has five new reindeer pets. Beef proceeds to tell him that nobody is mad at Moon for hiding Wilhelm from the Santa’s Village, but the Tobins are not keeping her or any of her calves.
  • Christmas Miracle: Parodied after Wilhelm gives birth to her first calf:
Moon: [awed] It’s a miracle. A miracle that smells very, very bad.
  • Clean, Pretty Childbirth: When Wilhelm gives birth to her calves, the placenta entrails aren't shown, but Moon still comments on how smelly the calves are.
  • Conflict Killer: Near the climax, Beef steals Skanky to throw it in the river, with Wolf and Ham chasing him to stop him while Honeybee chases after the two of them to stop them. The chasing stops after they pass the shed and see Moon, Judy and Quinn with Wilhelm, who is very close to giving birth. This prompts the conflict, as well as the party, to stop so Beef can find Dr. French, the local veterinarian, while everybody else witnesses the reindeer giving birth. Afterwards, when Moon sees how much the reindeer like Skanky, the Tobins decide to let it go with them to the animal sanctuary.
  • Couch Gag:
  • Didn't See That Coming: When Honeybee's name gets pulled out for the exchange, Wolf is expecting her to steal back Skanky for them, but she decides to get a gift instead and reveals she doesn't like Skanky.
  • Easily Forgiven: After the party is interrupted by Wilhelm giving birth, nobody is mad at Moon for hiding the reindeer in the first place, considering the local Santa’s Village was a crappy place.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: After Vera steals Skanky from Ham, while Wolf, Judy, and Ham are discussing how to get Skanky back, Honeybee is the only one not participating in the discussion and is seen staring at Skanky who's offscreen and occasionally glances back at the Tobins. And before that, she also didn't react when Vera stole Skanky while Wolf, Judy, and Ham were shocked by it. So when Honeybee is chosen to next to steal or unwrap a gift, Honeybee doesn't hesitate and chooses unwrap because after getting a good look at Skanky, she doesn't like him and chooses to not help get him back.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The yeti can be spotted in Moon's flashback when he was at the Santa's Village; just after Moon gets off of Santa's lap and leaves, the yeti can be spotted wearing a Santa hat while eating a candy cane on the left side of the screen.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Wolf's response when Honeybee reveals she didn't steal back Skanky because she doesn't like it:
Wolf: 12 dangs of Christmas! Little bummer boy! Jingle balls! Doo-doo got run over by a frang dang! Are you kidding me?!
  • Here We Go Again!: Beef rests easier now that Skanky is out of their lives, but then the other Tobins give him Sleazy, a twerking snowman, and Beef clearly dislikes it.
  • Huddle Shot: After learning Londra gifts Skanky for the white elephant gift exchange, Judy has her siblings and Honeybee huddle together to make a plan to get Skanky back, with Beef sneaking in the huddle to tell them it's a terrible plan.
  • I'm Taking Her Home with Me!: While visiting Santa at the Santa's Village, Moon sees that they have a real reindeer this time and it follows Moon who immediately loves its and brings the reindeer home to keep as a pet. After Moon reveals the reindeer to Judy and Ham, they also fell in love with it and agree to keep it a secret from the others.
  • Manly Tears: Mayor Peppers sheds some of these after Wilhelm gives birth to her four calves.
Delmer: Let it out, Peps. Let it all out.
  • My Greatest Failure: The reason Beef hates Skanky is not just because it annoys him but because it reminds him of the time he rented a crab boat hoping catch crabs to make a lot of money for Christmas, but a huge wave came along and sunk his boat. Short on money, Beef went shopping for Christmas gifts at the 97 cent section at the local pharmacy and bought random items, including Skanky. His kids reassures him by telling him they were happy to receive those random items back then and their Christmas wasn't disappointing.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: Moon named the reindeer he rescued from Santa’s Village Wilhelm after Georg Wilhelm Steller, a naturalist who was the first European to set foot in Alaska and pioneered recording its wildlife and natural history.
  • Oh, No... Not Again!: When Beef decides to steal Skanky so he can throw it in the river with Wolf and Ham chasing him to stop him with Honeybee running from behind, Mayor Peppers comments that it wouldn't be a Lone Moose white elephant if someone didn't run screaming towards the river at some point.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title is a reference to the Tim Allen film Christmas with the Kranks which is based off the John Grisham novel Skipping Christmas.
  • Rouge Angles of Satin: Santiago accidentally ordered a Satan costume instead of a Santa costume for the white elephant party. He decides to roll with it by stuffing the belly and adding a white beard (much to Mayor Pepper's confusion).
  • Screw Politeness, I'm a Senior!: Delmer is usually nice and sweet but he's surprisingly sassy during the white elephant gift exchange.
    Mayor Peppers: Delmer, geez.
Delmer: Don't ring the Del-bell if you can't handle the noise, Peppers!
  • Secret Pet Plot: A reindeer from a Santa's Village follows Moon home and he hides it in the shed and renames it "Wilhelm". He plans to keep it as a pet with Judy and Ham helping him keep it a secret from Beef. When it becomes hungry, they bring it with them to the white elephant gift exchange and hide the reindeer in the VFW tool shed and feed it the food from the party. Things get complicated when "Wilhelm", as Moon's been calling it since he assumed it's a male, starts giving birth.
  • Shout-Out:
    • After Wolf comes up with a plan to get Skanky back, he praises himself and said he should do an Ocean's Eleven, maybe a Twelve.
    • When Dr. French sees how knowledgeable Quinn is when it comes to reindeers, she asks Quinn if she's a veterinarian too, only tiny, and asking if this is like a Doogie-type situation.
  • Shown Their Work: After Quinn reveals the Wilhelm is actually a female and Moon points out it has antlers, which usually indicates that it's a male, Quinn points out that there are instances where female reindeers can keep their antlers. When Wilhelm gives birth to four reindeers, it seems strange that she can birth that many reindeers but there have been rare moments where reindeers can deliver that amount before.
  • Unwanted Gift Plot: Played with in that Beef is the one who gave Skanky as a Christmas gift, but while his children love it, he hates it because it reminds him of a time when he was struggling financially and couldn't give his family the Christmas they wanted. Honeybee hates it as well, but mostly because it's inappropriate and confusing.
  • White-Tailed Reindeer: Averted with Wilhelm, who is accurate to a real-life reindeer including having antlers as female.
  • Your Tomcat Is Pregnant: Quinn reveals to Moon that Wilhelm, who he thought was a male, is actually a female and is about to give birth. When Moon questions how Wilhelm can be a female when it has antlers, Quinn points out both males and females can grow antlers.

Why Beef Hates Skanky

Beef explains he hates Skanky not just because of his appearance but because it reminds him of the time he wasted a lot of money renting a crab boat that sunk after encountering a huge wave. Short on money, Beef ended up buying cheap items for his kids for Christmas, and Skanky was among those items.

How well does it match the trope?
