When Kima and her family gets to host an exchange student named Jill Gerbert-Erble from Illinois for the Lower 48 Exchange for five days, Judy is hoping that she'll be cool enough to make Stacy B. stop making fun of her, but is disappointed to learn that Jill has a huge obsession with bees so she tries to change her to be normal. While Crispin is in Illinois during the exchange, Ham is plant-sitting Crispin's cactus but he accidentally gets it thrown in the trash so Beef helps him get it back from the dump.

Tropes:

  • Burn Baby Burn: At the end of the Lower 48 Exchange, the school hosts a Bon Voyage Bonfire where students throw items into the bonfire as a sign of letting go. Bethany throws a starfish plushie in the fire, Drama John throws his birth certificate in it to stir up drama at home ("Whose son even am I?"), Judy finally lets go of Stacy B.'s influence on her by finally getting her BFF toe ring off of her toe and tossing it into the fire, and Jill throws Stacy B.'s phone into the fire after hearing she's tired of getting too many text messages and did it to help her, much to Stacey B.'s frustration.
  • Call-Back:
    • Judy has mentioned Stacy B. back in "Beef's Craig Beef Adventure" and "Skidmark Holmes Adventure", but we have never seen her physically until now.
    • Beef previously mentioned working at the dump in "Feast Of Not People Adventure".
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Jill is obsessed with bees, due to being raised on a bee farm. She eats honey with everything, talks nonstop about bees, and at some point she apparently tried to sting someone.
  • Continuity Nod: Steven Huang and Chrissy can be seen together, indicating they're still dating as mentioned back in "Stools Rush in Adventure".
  • Couch Gag:
  • Cringe Comedy: When Judy sees that Stacy B. took Jill away from them, she announces to everyone in the cafeteria that while Jill is with Stacy, Jill is still their friend and asks her to come back but Stacy and Jill are already leaving the cafeteria. When Judy tells Kima and Amelia that announcement was probably fine, Kima and Amelia tell her that was embarrassing and bad and she needs to let it go.
  • Down in the Dumps: Beef and Ham have to break into the dump to find the cactus.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The yeti, who's carrying an object on its shoulder, can be spotted when Beef and Ham first go to the Lone Moose Town Dump.
  • Friendship Trinket: Judy and Stacy B. had matching toe rings back when they were friends. Even though they are no longer friends, Judy still wears it because it got stuck. She finally gets it off and throws it into the bonfire.
  • I'm Standing Right Here: When Judy is trying to warn Jill about Stacy B., she said Stacy is just using her to get back at her and to make her a loser who doesn't have friends. When Kima and Amelia, Judy's friends, hear her say that in front of them, they feel offended that she would say she doesn't have friends when they went along with her plan and they leave her for taking them for granted.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Stacy B. purposely steals Jill away from Judy and her friends just to hurt her, but because Jill is a little odd, during the Bon Voyage Bonfire where everyone throws items into the bonfire as a sign of letting go, Jill takes Stacy's phone and throws it into the fire because she heard Stacy say that she's tired of getting too many text messages, much to her frustration.
  • Makeover Montage: Judy and her friends makeover Jill so she looks more normal, exchanging her bee-themed clothes for a plain yellow sweater. During the montage, the song is saying you should always be yourself, but if you're acting like a bee, then you should definitely be something else.
  • Moment of Weakness: Judy is so determined to get Stacy B. to stop bullying her that she makes Jill get a makeover to appear more normal instead of accepting who she is and takes Kima and Amelia for granted and they almost ended her friendship with Judy when she unintentionally said she doesn't have friends in front of them.
  • Mood Whiplash:
    • When Kima and Amelia leave Judy for being a lousy friend to them, Jill ruins the serious moment by making a correction about Amelia's bee comment and then burping from drinking hot chocolate.
    • After Judy returns to Kima's house and Ester sees the girls just had a fight and she asks what happened, Judy breaks down telling her they lost Jill to Stacy B. and she lost her two friends. While Judy is crying, Dane tells her he's sorry that she sucks at being a teen girl and he calls dibs on her dinner.
  • Out of Focus: Wolf, Moon, and Honeybee only have a few lines in the episodes and aren't even involved in any of the two plots.
  • Parlor Games: While Judy is sleeping over at Kima's house, the rest of the Tobins play a game of charades.
  • That Poor Plant: Ham is supposed to take care of Crispin's cactus, but he hates how it stings him. After he accidentally gets hurt with it, he puts some books around it, but after he leaves for dinner, the books topple and fling the cactus into the waste basket. By the time Ham returns, Beef had already taken out the garbage, so they have to go to the dump to get it back. They find it with its top cut off.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The episode title is a reference to She's All That.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Judy says that Stacy B. and her used to be friends, even wearing matching toe rings. Then Stacy B. began hanging out with the cool kids and now makes fun of her and her friends.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Kima and Amelia call out Judy for saying she doesn't have friends after going through with her plan to make themselves cool so Stacy B. can stop bullying her. Later at Kima's house, Ester also calls out Judy for taking her friends for granted, but also calls out Kima and Amelia for abandoning her when she really needs a friend right now. She tells them life is short and they've got to hang onto their real friends and Stacy B. has already peaked and has nothing left after high school.

♫ They don't want us to be together
They say we don't work, like wet weather and leather
But when I stick my hands in I feel a joy that's all mine
The soothing movin' rhythm of malt balls makes me freeze in time
It may be unsanitary and it may technically be a crime
Oh, a dip in the mothball bin sounds absolutely divine
A perfect match like Alice Toklas and her sweetie pie Gertrude Stein
I feel like I've died and gone to heaven
'Cause, baby, my hands are in the bulk bin ♫
