Established by Studio Gainax co-founder Hideaki Anno in 2006 shortly before his resignation from the studio the following year, Khara
(カラー) is a Japanese animation studio. Unlike the studio it spun off of, they usually stick around as an inbetween and photography subcontractor.
Having produced the Rebuild of Evangelion films, Khara bought the rights to Neon Genesis Evangelion from Gainax in 2014, giving them total control of the franchise.
