Laura Mackenzie Phillips (born November 10, 1959) is an American singer and actress best known for American Graffiti and One Day at a Time (1975).
She was married to Jeff Sessler and Shane Fontayne and she has one child named Shane Barakan.
Her parents are musician John Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas and Susan Adams and her half-sisters are actress Bijou Phillips and singer/actress Chynna Phillips.
In her memoir, she detailed abuse and incest at the hands of her father, John Phillips and her own problems with drug addiction.
