Arnold Herbert Stang (September 28, 1918 – December 20, 2009) was an American comic actor known for his owlish, bespectacled appearance and his high-pitched nasally voice.
Stang's career lasted more than sixty years and included appearances in such films as The Man with the Golden Arm, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Hercules in New York, and Dennis the Menace. He was also known for such voice roles as Herman of Herman and Katnip and the eponymous Top Cat.
He was married to JoAnne Taggart Stang and they had two children.
Stang died in 2009 at the age of 91.
