Puff Puff Humbert
"Can I just like eat broken glass or something?"
- Adaptation Name Change: During the Ladybug Studios era, he was initially named Humbert, however from the Cosmic Toast era onwards, he eventually was renamed to Puff Puff, with Humbert being demoted to his last name.
- Ambiguously Bi: Very obviously a fan of the ladies, but he has his moments.
- In the first episode of the Band Toon he offers to sleep with both a woman and her gymbro boyfriend when the latter takes offense to Puff's flirting.
- He doesn't seem terribly bothered that "dudes who look like chicks" hit on him, according to Axel.
- "Date Myself" is a whole song about Puff, well, dating another version of himself—he doesn't seem at all bothered by the fact that he's technically dating another man.
- Ambiguously Brown: Has slightly tanner skin than his bandmates (bar DeeJay) but doesn't display any particular ethnicity or racial heritage. His grandma shares his skin tone.
- Cannot Tell a Joke: "If you marry your sister and then eat her brains, you might be a Zombilly!"
- Child Hater: As seen in "Whip Your Kids". He's thankfully seemed to calm down about it ever since "Orphan Tears 2" and "3".
- Four-Temperament Ensemble: He is Choleric.
- Motor Mouth: Can lapse into this when rapping.
- Hollywood Tourette's: In "Epileptic Techno".
- Jerkass: In the Cosmic Toast Studios-era songs, and especially in YFMTS.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Proven to be this in "Orphan Tears 2" and "3", where he tries to tries to save the orphans.
- Joisey: In the first webisode, he turns into a tan, muscley jock with no talent.
- Our Zombies Are Different: In "Zombie Love Song", he's a zombie that's capable of romantic gestures.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: During the Cosmic Toast era, he goes from a slightly dickish goofball to a foul-mouthed jerkass. He reverts back to his original self in the newer songs, however.
Benatar
"You did set off pyrotechnics in a children's playground!"
- Ascended Extra: Starting with "Tig Ol Bitties", he has been singing more often in songs, often singing the chorus. He has also had songs where he is the lead singer, most notably in "Friend Zone" and "Jupiter".
- Butt-Monkey: Axel hates him, Puff thinks he has no talent, and his best friend falls for a huge douchebag.
- Did Not Get the Girl
- Dogged Nice Guy: Especially seen in "Friend Zone".
- Dumb Blonde: More prominent in the webisodes.
- Four-Temperament Ensemble: He is Phlegmatic.
- Goshdang It To Heck: He censored his parts in "Bartender Song".
- If I Can't Have You…: Subverted. He doesn't implicitly say that he wants her for himself, but he believes his best friend deserves better.
- My Friends... and Zoidberg: Probably due to being the band's Pretty Boy.
- The Piano Player: He plays piano in "Complicated", "Text Me Back", "My Balls (alt rock cover)", "Alien (Unplugged)", "Bartender Song", and "Gentleman's Ballad"
- Stalker with a Crush: He's madly in love with his best friend and has a Stalker Shrine dedicated to her.
Dee Jay Johnson
"Don't argue with a two-ton bitch. Did Roseanne teach us nothin'?"
- Demoted to Extra: In the Ladybug Studios songs, he had a prominent role in the music videos, often singing the chorus, and one song where he's the lead singer in one of them; Transphobic Techno. However, starting with the Cosmic Toast era, he has been replaced by Benatar as the secondary lead singer, and is more of a background character. He had only three songs where he sang, which are: Puppet Break Up, Booty Store, and Dookie Fresh.
- However, Dee Jay regained his prominent role again in the band in Gen 2 beginning with "This Is Why I'm Single" and "Gentleman's Ballad" after YFM was relaunched in 2022.
- Four-Temperament Ensemble: He is Melancholic.
- I Banged Your Mom: More like "I banged your Grandma".
- Likes Older Women: He's very attracted to Puff's Grandmother as seen in "Grandma Got A Facebook".
- Kavorka Man: Isn't as pretty as either Axel or Benatar, but he has no trouble with women.
- Madness Mantra: "Bitch got a penis, bitch got a penis, bitch got a penis...."
- Only Sane Man: Presented as this in the web series.
Axel Chains
"I'm not catching a disease on purpose. Unless it's Elephantiasisnote , and it's on my penis."
- All Men Are Perverts
- Bigger Is Better in Bed: Believes in this, as mentioned in the quote above.
- Brainy Brunette: Although he's the Book Dumb kind.
- Four-Temperament Ensemble: He is Sanguine.
- Perpetual Frowner: The only time he's seen smiling is when dressed as The Joker in the "Just a Friend" video and when he sees girls lifting their skirts. Averted in the webisodes, where he smiles in many of his speaking lines, as well as the 2022 redesign.
- Tempting Fate: He angrily screams out "HAVEN'T WE BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH FOR ONE DAY?!"...just as the tour bus breaks down. Conviently right next to a gas station overrun by zombies. Whoops.
- The Quiet One: Has never sang in any of the videos during the original run. It took until "Telescope" (released in 2023) for him to get a verse. Subverted in the show, where he talks a lot more often.
Cartoon Wax
- The Sixth Ranger: Goes from featuring in only one song during the original run to singing alongside Puff in most of the second wave releases—moreso than Benatar, even.
- You Don't Look Like You: Out of every redesign for the 2022 revival, Wax's look changed the most. From the skin tone, to the shaved head now covered by a beanie, to the more relaxed and laid-back facial expression, there are virtually no similarities between his current appearance and his first.
