Main Characters
Kevin Beecham
A 9-year-old boy living with his 3 siblings and Struggling Single Mother on Crabgrass drive. Has a habbit for getting into trouble and ususally can’t seem to see much further than his next adventure.
- Afraid of Needles: He runs away from a doctor trying to give him a shot.
- Fiery Redhead: Has bright orange hair and is quite impulsive.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The foolish sibling to Krystal's responsible sibling.
- Friendless Background: Kevin didn’t have any friends before Miles moved into the neighborhood. The only one he used to have stopped hanging out with him when his mother believed Kevin’s family to be too poor, and other kids believed Kevin to be too much of a trouble maker to be friends with.
- Hates Baths: Though not because he doesn't want to get clean, but because he believes baths to be for babies and prefers showers.
- Middle Child Syndrome:
- Discussed by Kevin when asked how he is going to hide the fact that he broke his arm.Kevin: I’m a middle child. If I don’t cause trouble, I’m pretty much invisible.
- It gets brought up again in a comic where Kevin keeps pretending he has to sneeze just to get some attention:Kevin: For a middle child, ANY attention is good attention.
- Discussed by Kevin when asked how he is going to hide the fact that he broke his arm.
- Sworn Brothers: He and Miles became "blood brothers" in the comics first story arc, using a knife from Kyle to cut their hands and then shake them.
- You Are Grounded!: Happens a lot due to his trouble making and/or his wisecracking. His character bio on GoComics even describes him as Perpetually Grounded.
- Youthful Freckles: Kevin has three of these on both cheeks.
Miles Curtis Wallace
A 9-year-old boy who moved to Crabgrass Drive a the start of the comic and has been Kevins best friend since. He’s more careful and thoughtful than Kevin, but still an imaginative kid who easily gets dragged into Kevin’s antics.
- Bad Liar: He tends to get very nervous and starts shouting when he has to lie.
- Black and Nerdy: Like Kevin, he loves typical nerd stuff like comics and video games. He and Kevin even made their own comic about a squirrel themed superhero.
- Comical Overreacting: He is quite prone to this, like when he tried to jump out a window after finding out he was wearing his shirt inside out and backwards, or when he believed himself to be in trouble with the principal for drawing a tattoo on Kevin.
- Middle Name Basis: Originally he tried to go by his middle name of Curtis before switching back to Miles.
- Only-Child Syndrome: Unlike Kevin, Miles has no siblings.
- Sworn Brothers: With Kevin during the comics first story arc; he and Kevin used a knife from Kyle to cut their hands and then shake them.
Beecham Family
Janine Beecham
Mother of Kevin, Kyle, Krystal and Kody. She has to balance a double job as nurse and waitress with taking care of her four children.
- Hands-Off Parenting: Let’s just say her method of parenting somewhat less involved than that of Donna and Gene (sometimes to the point of some mild Parental Neglect, though see Struggling Single Mother below). This is clearly seen when Kevin and Miles are missing, and Janine doesn’t seem too bothered, much to Donna’s dismay.Janine: Sweetie, I’m a mother of four. Losing track of one is as close as I get to a vacation.
- Struggling Single Mother: Has to work two jobs to make ends meet and keep her four children clothed and fed. Hence her more off-hands approach when it comes to parenting.
Kyle Beecham
The eldest son of the Beechams’. He lives almost exclusively to torment his little brother, yet Kevin considers him his hero.
- Big Brother Bully: Kyle loves to torment his little brother, either physically or through pranks.
- Eyes Out of Sight: Kyle's hair always hangs in front of his eyes, obscuring them from view.
- Goth: His hair and the way he dresses strongly implies him to be one.
- Hidden Depths: The Thanksgiving story arc of 2022 revealed Kyle has a talent for cooking due to watching a lot of cooking shows.
- Malicious Misnaming: He rarely calls Kevin and Miles by their real names, always using mean nicknames instead. Kevin once used this against him to make a bet, knowing Kyle probaly doesn't even knows Kevin's real name.
- Pet the Dog: Kyle has moments where he's kind to Kevin.
- Smelly Feet Gag: He is infamous for his smelly socks, that can knock people out and even set off fire alarms. It is the focus of a March 2021 story arc.
- Younger Than They Look: Kyle is just 13, but he's already as tall as the adult characters and looks at least 16. As such, several readers where caught off guard by the reveal of his age.
Krystal Beecham
Kevin’s twin sister, and his polar opposite in personality, being a kind, generous girl but also a relentless tattle tale.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The responsible to Kevin's foolish.
- Half-Identical Twins: Downplayed, but Kevin and his twin sister Krystal have identical orange hair, which none of their siblings and parents have.
- Polar Opposite Twins: Krystal and Kevin. Kevin actually wondered once if it was possible for twins to be switched at birth.
Kody Beecham
The youngest child of the Beecham Family at age two.
- The Baby of the Bunch: He’s only two, and can barely even talk.
- Brainy Baby: downplayed, but he has his moments, like the reveal that he knows how to operate the VCR to the point he is the only one who can set the clock.
- Cute, but Cacophonic: Just a toddler, but he can scream loud enough to knock Miles and Kevins's shirts off.
- Older Than They Look: Is stated to be two years old, but he looks and acts like he isn't even one, with him still crawling on hands and knees while most two-year-olds have learned to walk by that point, and being unable to speak at all.
Wallace Family
Eugene “Gene” Bertram Wallace
Father of Miles and husband of Donna. He works as a delivery truck driver.
- Good Parents: While he has his flaws (see The Scrooge below), he and his wife are overall good people who look after their son.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Is called Gene 99% of the time. The only one who ever uses his full name is Donna, and only when she is mad at him.
- Permastubble: Gene always has a five o'clock shadow.
- The Scrooge: Gene makes Miles and Kevin do chores for even the slightest amount of money, and would rather build Miles some shoes with lights than actually buy them.
- Solid Cartoon Facial Stubble: His Perma-Stubble is always drawn in this manner.
Donna Wallace
Miles’ mother. She works as a substitute teacher.
- Good Parents: Just like her husband, she looks after her son and is a good mom. On the other hand….
- Resentful Guardian: ….hinted darkly at by Miles' mom in this Sunday strip— and both parents may be alluding to an Awful Wedded Life.
Other secondary characters
Carla Nichols
A girl in Kevin and Miles’ class, whom Miles has a crush on.
- Ambiguously Brown: She has a tanner complexion than Kevin, but still lighter than Miles.

Principal Sanders
Principal of the school Kevin and Miles attend.
- Dean Bitterman: He's very strict with no tolerance for misbehaving students.
- I Need a Freaking Drink: In one strip, Principal Sanders can be seen with a flask after Kevin and Miles are sent to his office.
