  • Sasori was originally a denizen of the ninja village of Sunagakure, born to a talented family of shinobi, especially his grandmother, Chiyo, who was a skilled master in the art of puppetry. Sasori was noted to have been very close with his parents, a feeling that he was never able to overcome after they were killed in a mission by Konoha's White Fang, Sakumo Hatake. Telling him that their parents were away on another long mission, Chiyo became Sasori's main parental figure, eventually teaching him the art of puppetry. Alongside becoming just as good as his grandmother, Sasori came to the philosophy that art was eternal and that it is best left preserved to be showcased for its beauty and splendor. His craft was excellent, yet twisted in that he took human corpses and converted them into puppets, retaining their ability to use jutsu. Eventually, he wound up turning his own body into a sentient puppet and subsequently left Sunagakure, though not before killing the Third Kazekage to convert him and joining the criminal cabal known as the Akatsuki.
    • On the early days of the Akatsuki, Sasori constructed a human puppet known as Hiruko and sheltered himself into it due to its unique nature as well as Sasori seeing it as his favorite puppet. He found himself partnered with a fellow renegade ninja, Orochimaru of Konoha, and one-third of the Legendary Sannin. At first, their working relationship was amicable... until Orochimaru's botched attempt to hijack the body of a then-new Akatsuki recruit, Itachi Uchiha, forced him to abandon the Akatsuki, causing Sasori to take up a new partner in response. He was given Deidara, an Iwagakure ninja-turned-terrorist who also had a craving for art. Despite a shared quirk, both had diametrically opposing views on art, as Sasori believed it as eternal whereas Deidara saw it as spontaneous, instant, and, in his words, "a blast". Nevertheless, they worked well enough under Pain's service to succeed in their mission to capture Gaara, the jinchuriki of Shukaku, and extract it from his body and into the Gedo statue resulting in Gaara's death. However, they faced opposition from backup from Konoha, with Sasori taking on Sakura Haruno and his grandmother, Chiyo. They fought a grueling long fight, after which Sasori allowed himself to be stabbed in his organic heart by Chiyo via his own mother and father puppets. Before dying, Sasori gave his opponent his respect as well as told them about a spy that he was scheduled to meet at the Tenchi Bridge. His puppet body was later retrieved by Suna ninjas and one of them, Kankuro, Gaara's older brother who previous encountered Sasori shortly after Gaara's capture and suffered a humiliating, and near-fatal, defeat from, decided to take Sasori and rebrand it as a weaponized puppet for his own use. He was later improperly resurrected by said spy, Kabuto Yakushi for the Fourth Shinobi World War, where he fought Kankuro once again, only this time, the former won out, and receiving some words of encouragement from Kankuro to not be a puppet, Sasori declared him a Worthy Opponent and departed to the afterlife, his last wishes being that Kankuro takes care of his (and Chiyo's) Mother and Father puppets.
  • The documents surrounding the Akatsuki's tales and fates were quite well-known in the Pantheon, with Sasori's being noted as among the more unfortunate and tragic ones as his villainy was driven by extreme suppression of emotion as well as a lack of affection and love throughout his late childhood and early teen years, which were a primary impetus in him becoming a crazed puppeteer and a member of the Akatsuki. However, while Sasori was content in moving on to the afterlife, he was not prepared for the occasion where he was to take part in existing in a completely different world from the one where he resided. While the tragic aspects of his character were acknowledged, Sasori found himself ascended into the Pantheon due to his puppetry, which was noted to have been among the greatest in his village and has taken over the role from someone else, namely Alice Margatroid. He was... confused about his own predicament, to say the least.
    • Sasori's time in the Pantheon proved troublesome for him. He knew that he had passed on his legacy to Kankuro, who wasn't a representative and was instead a herald for Gaara, not to mention he was perfectly content with resting in the afterlife, so the fact that he was back in his puppet-like body perplexed him to no end. What was even more troubling was that he was at a loss of what he wanted to pursue in life as he felt that with Akatsuki done, the only thing left was to simply find a way to get back at wanting to feel something that would elicit emotion towards him. One way to do this was to bring back his late grandmother and killer, Chiyo, as a herald of his, and so far, the two have a complicated, if melancholic relation with one another, given that Sasori doesn't act antagonistic towards her. Beyond that, he did consider rejoining Pain, who was now organizing a new organization built to protect the Pantheon from the shadows. Feeling that he had no choice, Sasori decided to take up Pain's offer, though he's affirmed that his main motivation at the moment is to find a proper place in the Pantheon where he could adjust, which Pain promises that he would help him do so in the future.
  • A master in the field of puppetry, Sasori is well known in that field and despite his current infamy, his artistry has managed to earn a degree of respect from many, given that they were not just impeccably tuned and refined, but they were also incredibly functional and malleable to be able to do various functions that not many puppets or puppeteers would be able to achieve so easily. However, while the dedication and work put in his art is considered admirable, it is the nature of the puppets themselves that lands Sasori into infamy; the fact that he had to kill many and convert their organic bodies into mechanical parts, with special mention going to the Third Kazekage, to serve either as spy infantry or potent weapons of combat and destruction were not unfounded by many and they've used this information as a reason to explain why Sasori cannot be seen with high regard. The puppeteer hasn't really rebuked the statements that have been made against him, he'd rather operate in whatever way he wants in the Pantheon, whether it's to prove the mastery of his art or to serve a greater goal beyond himself.
  • When not engaged in combat and fighting, Sasori usually tends to himself, studying, researching, and working in puppetry and, as a result, comes off as very solitary, even compared to many other loners. In fact, Sasori is so reserved and reclusive that not many actually know how he looks like. To most, they know him as a short, lumbering figure with a gigantic metal scorpion tail and with a deep, raspy voice. Of course, there are some in the Pantheon who are aware of how Sasori really looks like, though in those cases, it's either because they're closely acquainted with him to an extent, or they've proven strong enough that Sasori has to discard his Hiruko puppet and fight them by either using the Third Kazekage, or participating in said battle himself. Whatever's the case, Sasori's nature is an elusive one and he's not one to be open about personal details.
  • Sasori's experience with family... hasn't exactly been a happy one, in fact, the lack of any familial care and attention was one of the reason he went on to become a member of Akatsuki. Some in the House of Family and Relatives don't justify his acts of terrorism and destruction, but they can see why Sasori became so mad and despondent and usually tend to pity him for it, thinking that if his parents were alive, he likely wouldn't have turned out so jaded and disillusioned with the world. The fact that Sasori was no longer affiliated with Akatsuki in the Pantheon has helped a bit, though his own reclusiveness in expressing himself as well as him being rather aloof and distant from the House hasn't exactly meant that they're in a workable relationship.
    • On the subject of family, Sasori does seem to find some intrigue in Carl Clover, a boy who was left with the corpse of his sister, Ada, by their father, Relius, who turned his wife and daughter into puppets upon killing them. Carl would eventually tinker with what remained of his sister, crafting her into a formidable puppet named Nirvana and they'd prove to be a formidable pair of fighters who tried to oppose their father and prevent him from causing further misery. Oddly enough, Carl and Sasori came to an amicable relationship and the two have spent some time together, with the former being willing to learn a few tricks from the latter, and Sasori doesn't mind playing the role of mentor. And while his own reputation isn't stellar, family is a topic and theme that he is quite sensitive about and he doesn't like to badmouth it, mainly due to his own desire to be in the loving embrace of one. As a result, he sees Relius with nothing but contempt and has made sure that he would kill the scientist if they ever meet.
    • On a similar note, he's also gotten himself familiar with the Drevis Family, though he tends to pay more attention towards the patriarch and daughter, Alfred and Aya, respectively. Sasori quickly came to oppose Alfred, though mainly because his act of killing others to preserve them into life-sized dolls as a means to preserve their beauty reminded him too much of himself. Sasori was a bit surprised to learn that Alfred did love Aya, which was the main reason he tried to kill her, so that she couldn't grow up to be like him. It was a bit hard for Sasori to comprehend the situation as not only was a family the main focus, but the conclusion were an inverse to his own desires; wanting parental affection and desiring to stay with them forever. He does pity Aya for what she's ad to go through and would genuinely like to befriend her, though there's a chance that she can likely turn out like her father. Alfred is more apathetic to Sasori, expressing disappointment that the two of them could have bonded with one another due to their shared habits.
  • For a number of reasons, Sasori's number of allies are pretty short, to say the least, and it doesn't help that he prefers to be on his own and sheltered into obscurity, choosing instead to tinker and experiment on his own interests. Even so, he did find common ground with an aristocrat named Donna Beneviento. As it turns out, Donna is someone with major family issues, namely that she was orphaned at a young age and her only social solace was a doll named Angie. Sasori personally related to these circumstances, given what happened to his parents and how he created a pair of puppets that resembled them. They were also extremely reclusive, though Sasori personally chose to be so that way whereas Donna struggles with severe mental issues that causes her psychotic lapses and she's really only comfortable with talking to her dolls, Angie most of all. Sasori was one of the easier individuals in the Pantheon to interact with for Donna, not just because he has a similar habit of being affectionate about his puppets, but also because he is a puppet, and he's open enough to give her company at times. Despire their creepy demeanor, neither of the two are antagonistic, at the moment at least, being more neutral figures who are mainly trying to thrive in the Pantheon, though Sasori does make an effort to loom after Donna in case she ends up becoming too distressed and psychotic.
  • Is an extremely renowned (as well as incredibly lethal) in the field of poison. In fact, the poison Sasori uses is so potent that it hardly has a cure, in addition to causing immense pain towards the infected before killing them within three days. While there are those who are able to nullify and/or are immune to toxicity in general, its helped to cement Sasori as among the deadliest users of poison in the Pantheon and the details of his brand is left disclosed to very few, himself included. Of course, this isn't enough for Sasori, who also likes to lounge in the Hall of Toxicity to learn about types of toxins that is not native in his homeworld. His own curiosity led him to the swordswoman, Akame, who wielded a toxic Imperial Arms known as Murasame, that is known to inject a unique brand of poison to whoever it strikes and its noted to have no cures for it. Seeing an opportunity, Sasori battled Akame and found her to be a fascinating opponent. While he would have initially thought of killing Akame and converting her into a puppet, he now solely seeks the Murasame as possessing it means he would have among the the most toxic items in the Pantheon, also furthering his desires to preserve the blade as a piece of art. While Akame isn't on good terms with Sasori and thinks he's crazy, he sees her as a Worthy Opponent and personally would delight for an alliance with her.
    • Among those in the Hall of Toxicity, Sasori also came across Magellan and Caesar Clown, beings who possessed poison manipulation due to them eating a special sort of fruit called the Devil Fruit, which comes in various forms. While their powers are similar, Magellan and Caesar's manipulation of poison is different as they ate different types of Devil Fruits, but regardless possess great power and control over them. Both of them are enemies with Sasori, though for very differing reasons depending on the party; Magellan sees the former Akatsuki member as a criminal that needs to be captured and tried for his crimes, even if they ocurred in a different world and sees him as a treat. Sasori doesn't pay much attention to Magellan, instead being more focused on showing contempt towards Caesar Clown for his horric acts for the sake of science. Caesar scoffed at the puppet master's words, stating that he isn't any different by killing others in order to convert them into malleable puppets, which Sasori was quick to retort with by claiming that he never intended to act on sadistic impulses like Caesar does, not to mention that he's since dropped the act after ascending into the Pantheon. On another note, he has a sense of respect for a fellow visitor to the hall, Oberyn Martell, for his use of poison in combat as well as being quite proficient in swordsmanship. Oberyn personally doesn't want anything to do with Sasori, though he's willing to give him a fight as a means to measure how much he can back up being among the best fighters from his world.
  • His talent, proficiency, and desire for puppetry and art meant that Sasori would, of course, be allured to the House of Craft, where he can take his time in admiring his field of work's preservation there and take inspiration for whatever ideas he can come up with for puppetry. Even at what would be his most preferable spot in the Pantheon, Sasori would rather seclude himself from everyone else and work on his arts. If there's one notable thing about, Akatsuki member notwithstanding, it's that he is an ardent believer that art is eternal and that it is at its best when preserved and kept intact. He muses that if it weren't for his reputation prior hand, he would have been greatly appreciated in his House of residence. Even then, Sasori notes that he's pretty much the unsocial type so either way, he works alone best. He'd still butt heads against Deidara regarding their views on art, but at least Deidara, for once, respects Sasori's take on things, even if, unlike his fellow Akatsuki member, he's still content with remaining a terrorist.
  • For his infamy, he has, surprisingly, managed to be on good terms with Alice Margatroid, another user of puppetry as well as someone who usually spent most of her time on her own, likely owing to the fact that she resides on her own without a guardian and makes up with this by talking to her dolls on a regular basis. Despite her aloof nature, Alice was rather accepting of Sasori's hospitality towards her and even welcomed him to her company. While she was nervous by the means that Sasori went through in his creation towards puppets, Alice quickly figured that he was immensely talented and skilled in his control of puppets, a feeling that was mutual as Sasori was impressed by Alice's own usage of dolls. While their introverted nature, affinity for dolls and puppets, and their tendency to see their works as Companion Cubes to a degree was acknowledged and that there were more than one reason on why Sasori and Alice would get along, many still express surprise and wariness on how it even occurred, given the former's feared reputation.
    • Another puppeteer Sasori has been on good terms with is Asroc of The Seven who also lost his family, albeit in his case, it was due to someone burning down his house. What's more distressing was that Asroc was a chef apprentice who wanted to excel in his job, and his head fired him to save his own reputation, resulting in Asroc developing a large sense of contempt for mankind. Sasori was intrigued by Asroc's misanthropy as he himself also went through a similar phase, though Sasori confided that he was more quiet and cold about it. The two get along mainly because they both respect each others' powers as well as the fact that they can relate to what they've been through. Sasori has expressed a good deal of respect to what Asroc is capable of, which includes entire factory to life, using the machinery within to mass produce weaponry and animate machines to defend it from intruders. Like Sasori himself with the Third Kazekage, Asroc also fights alongside a heavily armed mechanical golem called Galette Crone, which can only be controlled by his powers, and if necessary, can hop inside and use Galette Crone to pilot the humungous mecha Gran Torta.
  • One particular figure that happened to catch Sasori's attention was a boy named Pinocchio, who was initially born a living puppet, yet desired to Become a Real Boy, which eventually came true at the end of his adventures. In fact, Pinocchio's circumstances ended up being an inverse to what Sasori went through, with one starting off as a puppet before becoming an actual human whereas the other was a former human who converted himself into a puppet out of disillusionment. Sasori finds the circumstances and parallels intriguing though he states that Pinocchio's former state itself was a piece of art, courtesy of his creator/father, Geppetto, though Pinocchio would rather stay away from the former Akatsuki member due to his reputation. While Geppetto himself doesn't have a high opinion towards Sasori, he does pity his circumstances, seeing as he became what he is due to the lack of parental care and affection, and that maybe Pinocchio being a kind, considerate boy was to do with his healthy upbringing bought upon by Geppetto himself.
  • His puppetry nature caught the attention of Angela, former AI secretary of the Lobotomy Corporation and director fo the Library, and Roland, a Grade-9 Fixer and Patron Librarian of General Works. Both parties ended up with differing perspectives, though Angela and Roland tend to be wary of Sasori. For them, it's because the former Akatsuki member reminds Angela and Roland of a Distortion known as the Puppeteer, formerly Jae-heon, who took pride out of creating People Puppets from corpses, among them being Roland's wife, Angelica. It turned out that the Puppeteer was acting out of tragic impulse, holding Roland responsible for sabotaging the revival of his son, who was the victim of a tragic accident while he was away at work. Jae-heon ended up being caught up in Roland’s rampage brought about by the death of the former’s wife and unborn child. While Sasori was no longer antagonistic and mainly just keeps himself isolated from others, his powers and physiology are a grim reminder of Jae-heon for Angela and Roland and they want to make sure he doesn't slip back into villainy. Sasori, on the other hand, pities Roland for what he went through, likely relating to his own burden of (mostly) not having a familynote . That said, revenge was more Chiyo's thing as Sasori became too detached from really expressing much, despite his own issues with family. As it currently stands, he looks out for Roland with a level of interest, though he doesn't expect to be on decent terms anytime soon.

  • Rivals: Slappy the Dummy, Freddie Krueger, Jason Voorhees
  • Enemies: The Toy Story Gang, Pinocchio, Banette, Alphonse Elric, Carol Anne Freeling, Miku Hinasuki, Mio and Mayu Amakura, Edward Elric, The Heroic Protectors of Family, The Childhood and Adolescence, Offsprings, Twins and Upbringing Sub-Houses (Barring the Villainous Deities), Yusuke Godai/Kamen Rider Kuuga
  • Disregards: John Kramer/The Jigsaw Killer
  • Allegiance: Sifts very occasionally between the Grand United Alliance of Evil, Grand United Alliance of Destruction and the GUAE Dystopia Harbingers (Chucky has no true loyalty between any of them)
  • Charles Lee Ray was already a crazed and demented serial killer known as the "Lakeshore Strangler" before transferring his soul into a Good Guy Doll when he was caught and shot by police. He was soon found by a homeless man who sold it to Karen Barclay who wanted to give her son Andy a birthday gift. From here, Charles, who preferred to call himself "Chucky" began a series of killings before realizing that he had to transfer his soul into Andy in order to fully become human again. However, his plans were thwarted when Karen, Andy and Detective Mike Norris were able to finally put a stop to him.
  • Chucky's first appearance came with the help from an unsuspecting Dr. Facilier when the latter accidentally opened up a green portal, which Chucky happened to fall into. Upon his arrival, Chucky took to attacking Dr. Facilier before the evil doctor told him that he was a villain and that there is likely to be many just like him. Intrigued and bloodhungry by the opportunity of a new world, Chucky accepted his alliance and is making plans for a killing spree across the Pantheon.
  • Is one of the most infamous killers in the Pantheon, a moniker that Chucky takes in stride. He is permanently banned from the House of Family due to his callous torture and even murder of children, followed by his abusive treatment towards his wife Tiffany. Chucky however would do whatever it takes to get into the House and start up a new killing spree.
  • Chucky is an incredibly despicable individual and nearly nobody wants anything to do with him. That said, he's built up quite the reputation to the point where he's heralded as one of Horror's most iconic and feared foes, elevating his status to a Love to Hate position. To Chucky, it's an ego-boost.
  • Because of his iconic status in Slasher flicks, it's only natural that Chucky became a rival to Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. Freddie appreciates the competition and bets on Chucky regarding who gets to break into the House of Family first. Jason on the other hand couldn't care less about and given that he isn't a Complete Monster compared to the other two, he's got his own priorities to serve. Oh, and Jason doesn't indiscriminately kill children and animals, though he has come close to harming them.
    • Another rival is the dummy, Slappy. Chucky is amused to see another puppet that is absolutely deranged and callous just like he is and that they have some similar power assets regarding soul-based abilities and the that both of them just don't seem to be killed off, regardless of the amount of punishment they take. However, Chucky's ego is can prove detrimental in a potential team-up, though both assure it's possible regardless.
    • He does get along with Michael Myers however. Given that Myers is completely fixated with butchering his victims and that nothing can be done to impair his objectives, Chucky has outright admiration for the guy. Myers will often work with Chucky, though they do have the closest they could get to a friendly competition regarding who gets the most kills.
    • He does not like John Kramer and is dumbfounded by the fact that his attempts of killing are for a good cause. Conversely, The Jigsaw Killer sees Chucky as not just a waste of time, but one who wastes his life on rampant killings, especially given that he had a wife and two kids (said wife being his herald). All that said, Chucky would want to remain out of Jigsaw's games for the time being, considering that he could develop a scenario built for killing him (though Jigsaw does make the game survivable to all players and Chucky would be of no exception).
  • He is somewhat dissatisfied that his Arch-Enemy, Andy Barclay is nowhere to be found in the Pantheon. Because of this, he has to settle for simply killing enough people to elicit a new arch-enemy to combat against him. Chucky has taken some interest in Yusuke Godai, given his representing trope and seeks to push his limits. Given what Yusuke did against Go-Jaraji-Da once his patience ran out, Chucky is intending to prepare himself for the occasion Yusuke becomes enraged.
    • On the other spectrum, Woody and his gang are outright terrified of Chucky. If Lotso wasn't bad enough, Chucky couldn't care less about feelings, is downright relentless in his pursuits and he isn't gain to bail out once he's on the losing side. Yes Woody and his pals can be smart and creative, but then so is Chucky. And given what he can deliver with his mind, it's not something anyone, let alone a toy would want to think about.
    • Because of his interest towards Yusuke, Chucky also has an alliance of convenience with Takeshi Asakura. Having a fellow Kamen Rider on his side felt beneficial as Chucky could get to spectate on newer ways to kill his victims and someone as bloodthirsty as Asakura could not be a more better ally for the killer doll. Being of similar profession, Chucky and Asakura have though of a project to unite as many serial killers as possible to form a killer organization. It'll take time, but at least it'll be worth it.
  • Konrad von Carstein is impressed with the likes of a killer doll like Chucky and has expressed a desire to work for him in raiding and massacring as many settlements as they possibly can. Chucky couldn't turn down such an offer and muses that he'd like to provide some sort of creativeness for the vampire. Additionally, Konrad feels as if someone like Chucky is great to work with, given that he's almost just as insane as he is and has no issues with it.
    • He's been praised by the Joker for being creative and theatrical about his kills, in spite of the messy gore. Chucky sees Joker as good company and seeks to compile a killing score, just like the rest of his allies. Being the killer doll is pretty fun after all. Based on this, the Violator and Wild Hunt have also expressed their respect for Chucky, with Violator thinking he may make a good soldier for an army of Hell and Wild Hunt nominating him as an honorary member.
  • He can be seen as an Evil Counterpart to Pinocchio. Amusingly enough, their origins are inverted; Chucky was once a human who was forced to become a doll whereas Pinocchio was a puppet who desired to become a human. They're also morally on the complete opposite spectrum. Pinocchio is terrified of Chucky given his actions and reputation whereas Chucky sees the parallels between himself and Pinocchio as rather amusing on his part.
  • Has expressed some desire to learn more about sorcery, thinking that he can learn and better his capabilities in soul-based magic. To that end, he's allied himself with Shang Tsung and sometimes takes the time to see what can he learn. Shang seems to be impressed by his voodoo magic and is eager to showcase him the magical power that he himself possesses. Dr. Facilier similarly is also thinking of trying to teach Chucky magic, though him and Shang have considered the possibility of him rebelling and betraying the two, so they're coming up with a contingency plan of sort.
  • Thinking that he could have some sort of fun, Chucky has attacked some of the more emotionally vulnerable children in the Pantheon, namely Carol Anne and the Amakura Twins. As if the House of Family doesn't hate him enough, Chucky just takes their feelings towards him as comedy. Additionally, he's even pointed out that their are children outside of said House. This has prompted many to set up further defense just in case Chucky manages to make his mark.
  • He doesn't have any true loyalty to any organization. For a few days, he'll be doing favors for the GUAE after which he would immediately switch to the GUAD, then the Harbingers of Repression, rinse and repeat. The leaders at least don't have to worry too much about Chucky not being of top rank and having goals that aren't grandiose in the slightest. As a result, they're okay with the killer doll joining and ditching them every once in a while, though they do keep check of whether he's planning a backstabbing scheme behind their backs.
  • Disregards his rebooted incarnation mainly because he doesn't have the same compunction of having fun and being as depraved as he is. He doesn't mind his new version of not being as good as the original (i.e. himself), but he expected it to at least pay more homage to what he is as an individual and is disappointed in that aspect. Additionaly, said incarnation only became malevolent due to a malfunction and thus, wasn't intrinsically evil to begin with.
  • Is preparing for a time if Andy manages to make it into the Pantheon. No if's, no but's. Chucky wants revenge, and his new found Arch-Enemies are not going to openly fulfill them. He would also like to see Nica Pierce ascend as well, given that she was able to best him once and that Chucky returned the favor by possessing her later on. Hey, torturing her again is going to be fun, now that he's got a new bunch of pals to witness it.
    • As of his latest outing as Ray, he is now able to transfer his soul to several dolls. As a result, Chucky was able to assimilate an army of Good Guy and Buddi dolls in the Pantheon some time after his arrival. In quick succession, many Houses have taken to banning any and all Good Guy dolls to prevent the possibility of Chucky spreading his influence more.
"Think about it, what's so great about being human anyway? You get sick, you get old, you can't get it up anymore. I'm not looking forward to that! As a doll, I'm fucking infamous! I'm one of the most notorious slashers in history! And I don't wanna give that up. I am Chucky, the killer doll! And I dig it!"

  • Whatever level his host is, but Quasideity in his natural form (Esplin), Lesser God with potential Intermediate God forms (Alloran)
  • Symbol: The Blade Ship
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil (Esplin), Lawful Good formerly with Chaotic tendencies (Alloran)
  • Portfolio: Animorphism, Collector of Forms
  • Domain(s): Possession, "Puppet"
  • Allies:
  • Enemies: EACH OTHER, Each other's allies, The Ur-Quan Races, Killbus, Evolto
    • Esplin: All allies of the Animorphs, humanity in general, anyone he wants to infest or acquire, all psychics (also fear), the Monster Hunters
    • Alloran: All controllers in the Hall of Mind Control, most of all Death Phantom.
  • Opposes: All forms of Mind Control or "puppeteering" (Alloran)
  • Alloran's entire pre- and early military history isn't known, but Esplin 9466 was born in a stolen Andalite ship's modified Yeerk Pool (out of a sterile titanium-alloy tank) shortly after their exodus from their own homeworld, from the decaying bodies of his three parents, along with several hundred siblings (and one twin), as was natural for Yeerk reproduction. During "training" where new Yeerks control crippled/aged Gedds to have a sense of their future, many Yeerks actually were repulsed or sickened by it, but Esplin was hooked, and became determined to be fit and useful in order to serve the his kind, and he shortly became obsessed with possessing a host (which not many Yeerks actually feel), and studied Andalite culture, biology, and military tactics, with the dream of controlling one of their kind someday. During the gestation of the Yeerk Empire as they sampled species that would be fit for hosts (being stuck with their native Gedds for so long), he became the first Hork-Bajir Controller, and his approval of them would lead to a bid to take their homeworld and infest them all. That said, while infesting them was easy due to how dimwitted Hork-Bajir were, it proved problematic when their intelligent seer Dak Hamee and Aldrea-Iskillion-Falan, daughter of Seerow, ended up contacting the Arn, who had created the Hork-Bajir, as well as other monsters meant to keep them from the Arn. Before long, Aldrea managed to contact the Andalite fleet, and while he failed his chance to infest her, she also missed the chance to kill him then and there.
  • Erstwhile, Alloran had been grilling his Prince Seerow for his mistake of giving Yeerks technology, telling them about the outside cosmos, and building Kandronas to sustain them outside the range of their own sun, which had allowed a few hundred of them controlling Gedds to steal four Andalite attack fighters and two transports, the latter of which also then went to spirit away over a quarter million more Yeerks with them before escaping into Z-Space, thus coining the law of Seerow's Kindness. Months later, his race soon picked up Aldrea's message, and Alloran—by now a Prince himself—was part of the fleet sent to the Hork-Bajir homeworld, though they apparently weren't sent as urgently as Aldrea had hoped, and even then there weren't as many sent. That was because despite what they tell the masses back home, the Andalites are struggling in the war with the Yeerks. Eventually, with things getting desperate, and the Arn getting wiped out as well, Alloran gave the order to release the Quantum Virus to wipe out the Hork-Bajir in order to thin their numbers as Yeerk hosts, but the Empire had gathered more than enough by then. This also resulted in Aldrea's desertion and getting stuck as a Hork-Bajir during her and Dak's flight and failed attempt to stop it. Esplin's squadron intercepted them during that and captured them, intending to infest Aldrea, but made the mistake of not having his own Hork-Bajir host restrained as he made the transfer, who turned the tables against his forces and pulled him out, but by the whims of fate, he managed to escape down a stream, and eventually return to the others. What remained of Alloran's forces meanwhile fled, a lost cause.
  • After the disastrous incident with the Hork-Bajir homeworld, Alloran entered relevance again when he was required to bring two humans—Hedrick Chapman and Loren—who were found abducted at a Skrit Na ship on a previous mission, back to Earth (sans memories of the whole affair), and had to bring arisths Arbron and Elfangor as well, who had found those humans. However, when Arbron discovered that the Skrit Na had a dangerous artifact called the Time Matrix, they took a detour to that ship's destination; the Taxxon homeworld. At the time, Esplin was Sub-Visser Seven, in another Hork-Bajir host, and he spotted and captured Elfangor in Taxxon morph when the young aristh actively pulled back from eating a recently injured Taxxon, which most would not miss the chance to chow down upon. He tossed Elfangor over some feral Taxxons to be feasted upon, but he managed to demorph and escape. Later, Esplin would find Chapman, who essentially advertised Earth to the Yeerks (though another Yeerk, Edriss 562, would end up there while searching for a species ideal for infestation, but that's a different story). Eventually, in the midst of a skirmish between the Yeerk Empire and the Living Hive of Free Taxxons, Esplin would cross paths with Elfangor once more, and Alloran would find his way back to the then-cadet, and then hold the then-Hork-Bajir Controller hostage in exchange for a safe way off of the planet on their acquired vessel. However, Arbron would voluntarily remain behind, having been trapped in Taxxon morph during the mission.
    • Inside the Andalite-piloted ship, Esplin would secretly transfer himself to Chapman before Alloran had his former Hork-Bajir host ejected. And then when the War-Prince and aristh had an argument over killing some host-less Yeerks Elfangor passed over in his then-idealism, Esplin in Chapman took the chance to give Elfangor the chance to incapacitate Alloran during the brief scuffle. And while the young aristh went to retrieve the Time Matrix, Esplin transferred himself to Alloran, and it turned out to be all a trap of the Yeerk's making. However, Elfangor proved a quick thinker and turned the tables to get himself and the humans as far from the planet as possible and kick off Esplin for good measure. Still, with an Andalite as his host, Esplin managed to procure a lot of valuable Intel for the Empire, and was promoted to Visser Thirty-Two.
    • Thanks to a tracker on the Time Matrix, Esplin would meet Elfangor again at the Graysha Nebula, amidst the Andalite fleet, and living asteroids that swallowed up ships and chased energy. They (plus Loren) would end up using the Time Matrix at the same time, and there would be a lot of timey-wimey and dimensional fuckery, but ultimately everyone would make it out alive, and Esplin eventually reaches the rank the Animorphs know him for; Visser Three, and he would be assigned the covert mission of invading Earth, the groundwork already "paved" by Edriss, now Visser One, during her time there as a deserter before showing her results to the Council of Thirteen.
    • Eventually, Visser Three would put an end to Elfangor by ambushing his Dome Ship and fleet over Earth, killing all except Elfangor (in a space fighter) and Aximili (whose portion of the Dome Ship would sink into the ocean). He would soon find his nemesis at an abandoned construction site, and swallow him up as an Antarean Bogg. But by then, Elfangor had granted the morphing power to five human kids, who would become the Animorphs (and rescue Ax later on to join them), and be a constant thorn on his side as he made ineffective progress with the invasion, the pride of possessing an Andalite having gotten to his head, or a result of Alloran's brain influencing him, as all Yeerk hosts end up doing to any Yeerks controlling them.
    • Close to the end of the prolonged invasion attempt on Earth, after his promotion to Visser One after the previous one's execution (though the Animorphs managed to barge in and rescue her host Eva, Marco's mother), he decided it's time to start bringing the war out in the open, and started with collecting blood samples to match DNA with blood stains scattered throughout the Animorphs' battles. Through these, he discovered that most of what he and his forces thought were "Andalite bandits" were actually humans, Ax being the only actual Andalite among them. His forces even managed to acquire the Escafil Device, but while it gave them the morphing power, it also ultimately led to his invasion's downfall as Yeerks and Taxxons found this as a way out of their miserable existences, and the Yeerk Controlling Jake's brother Tom sought to use it to build his own empire. Eventually, with sabotage from within, and this betrayal plot, Visser One was cornered by the Animorphs and he summarily surrendered, seeing his fate by the Yeerk Council worse than whatever punishment the Andalites will sentence him to.
    • In the end, Esplin was finally removed from Alloran once and for all, and the now-freed Andalite is indebted to Jake's group for it. He then smooths over communications with the Andalite fleet meant to destroy Earth with the Yeerk invasion. Esplin himself was locked in a special lavender Yeerk box with a miniaturized Kandrona source, a computer interface, and a voice synthesizer, stood trial for his transgressions against Earth, and wad moved to a secure facility in Kansas. As for Alloran's reception to the Andalite populace, especially regarding his...time under Esplin, that is unknown.
  • In a bid to gather more allies, and someone to counter the Animorphs, someone who would know them best, the Grand United Alliance of Evil underwent a few missions to rescue Esplin, abduct Alloran for him to re-infest, officiate their ascension as a Pantheon deity, and sent him out to try and get his revenge. While the GUAE thought little of his botching of the covert invasion, they could tell that he he's really competent when he's in his element: open invasion, which he was eventually allowed to do. The reason they chose him was because of what his race is all about; physically controlling their hosts by entering their brains, and since Yeerks as a whole vary in motives and alignment, they decided to ascend only him. Well, him and his most famous host body, which is a prerequisite, hence the abduction of Alloran. Even so, the scientists in the GUAE had something else just in case.
    • Along with some tag-alongs who also had some beef with them, the Visser clashed with the Animorphs and their allies in a GUAG-GUAE skirmish. Despite meeting their nemesis once more, they also knew that liberating Alloran once more should be attempted, even if it means poisoning/disabling the elder Andalite just as has been done before. One of their allies however did one better, and performed a precise enough teleportation spell that got all of Alloran to an adjacent spot while excluding Esplin, sending him falling to the ground as the Animorphs and their allies escaped with the newly-rescued War Prince. Esplin himself would be revived later on, with his temple's new modified accommodations.

  • Applies to both:
    • Due to events, and strong opposition, Esplin inhabits the temple alone, while Alloran hangs out with the Animorphs, which is only a bit awkward given he had been their enemy for the longest time. And given that Alloran won't be willingly around as Esplin's host, the GUAE managed to create a brain-dead Andalite copy of the Andalite War-Prince (in exchange for Esplin serving the GUAE), and it fortunately has the morphing power as well, thus skipping the need for planning an infiltration to the Treasury's Maximum Security Wing to steal the Escafil Device. However, there turns out to be another restriction. While they won't lose their "roster" upon dying, just like with the Animorphs, Esplin's host and Alloran have to go to sleep until morning for any newly acquired creature to be "saved" permanently there. If they die before then, then that acquired creature is lost. This is meant to disincentivize reckless acquiring and actively exploiting the revival system for this purpose.
    • Both fear skunks ever since getting sprayed by one (Cassie in morph) during the "Dapsen Logging" incident. They had underestimated the Earth animal, to their peril, and memories of the stench linger to this day, even if both are considering adding that animal to their morph rosters. They also both have a habit of looking down on the disabled, Alloran due to Andalite culture branding vecol as disgraceful, and Esplin due to Yeerk mindsets judging host bodies by physical capabilities and the minds they possess. Only the elder Andalite has been trying to change that, though old habits die hard.
    • Having been previous victims of Mind Control (they've produced their own methods of averting it by self-torture) and have very strong opinions against the practice, both Ur-Quan subspecies would stop at nothing to see Esplin destroyed, or perhaps even worse. Not that their goals earn them any favors from Alloran (as they either employ another form of Mind Control or wish for extinction). As a result of this, the older Andalite has drawn attention from the Alliance of Free Stars, who have experience with going against the Ur-Quans. While having actually had some time in the Pantheon pre-ascension courtesy of being a follower of Killbus, both oppose him for his obvious omnicidal desires, and the same goes for his brother Evolto.

  • Exclusive to Esplin:
    • In Esplin's temple is a Yeerk Pool for him to soak up Kandrona Rays, which Yeerks need for sustenance every three Earth days, or else he will die. With his new default host body being brain dead, he doesn't have to worry about having to restrain it like with Alloran. However, with the Pantheon having a couple of creatures much better than Andalites, he's looking to acquiring better restraints for such things when he infests them.
    • Speaking of infesting, some people wonder how do Yeerks infest hosts via entering the ear. At least for humans, there is no direct passage connecting the inside of the human ear to the brain; the Yeerk would have to chew, melt, or in some other fashion penetrate several layers of tissue (least of all the eardrum) to reach the inside of the skull, which would undoubtedly prove fatal. Esplin for his part isn't providing answers.
    • That said, the rules of life and death in the Pantheon work differently, so suicide of his future hosts is an option for them, not to mention their allies, who are more willing and/or able to fight him and his monstrous morphs head-on. Most Greater Deities are off of his list for this reason since most of them are too powerful to contain/keep from committing suicide. This means those like the Z-Fighters, the Avengers, and the Justice League are not to be messed with (Batman was Crazy-Prepared to even account for a brain slug like him [on top of actually pretending to the GUAE that Esplin successfully infested him for a while after the Yeerk himself was incapacitated trying to get in], and Iron Man's AIs knew to disable him if he was ever compromised like this, not to mention Tony himself being quite the mental annoyance).
      • As for those who use Transformation Trinkets, now that's another story. The only issue is what might happen to Esplin when this host transforms. Will he be "safe" inside the brain? Or will the energies vaporize him if they don't merely armor the user? He'll also have to pick the solitary ones since most Henshin Heroes come in teams, and they would stop at NOTHING to retrieve their abducted teammate, and fight them if need be.
      • One other obvious candidate is Ben Tennyson, with all the various aliens he can turn into. The only issues are keeping Ben properly restrained when he needs to feed, and the question of what would happen to Esplin if he makes Ben transform. Will he be transposed to the new form's brain, or will Omnitrix's energies destroy him? What if he transforms into something that doesn't have a conventional organic brain like Upgrade, Goop, or Echo Echo? Would turning him into Alien X keep him inside Ben, or will he end up outside with all three of its personalities (Serena, Bellicus, and Ben himself)? And given how Ben doesn't get the alien he wants to turn into sometimes, it's also possible that the Omnitrix might do this on purpose to screw Esplin over. He may have to settle with trying to acquire Ben's transformations instead, assuming they can be done at all for some of them.
    • His private quarters has only a computer console (since Andalites don't need to sit), and adorning the walls are all sorts of torture devices he's collected around the galaxy, including an iron maiden (human-shaped cage with spikes) from Earth. Due to his experiences with the Animorphs a.k.a. the "Andalite bandits", Esplin is extremely paranoid, always wanting every living organism in an area verified or killed before he discusses any plans (and to go elsewhere if that isn't feasible). In fact, shapeshifters in general are a sore spot for him, despite being one himself through his Andalite host. And while he wasn't involved in the Leeran invasion, he most probably heard about it through his ally Visser Four, and thus he also hates and fears psychics, who can not only read his mind and learn his plans, but detect him if he's infesting another body.
    • One thing that can be counted on is that whenever Esplin shows up in his Andalite host, there's always an aura of malevolence emanating from him. Given that Andalites can convey emotions to others just like Elfangor did to the burgeoning Animorphs before his untimely death, it's likely that this is how that occurs, and because he either doesn't know how or doesn't bother with "turning it off". At least he seems to have stopped using his thought-speak in "public broadcast" mode since that's how the Animorphs figure out some of his plots. He also dislikes maple and ginger-flavored instant oatmeal, given it's addicting to Yeerks. Sure, it can circumvent the need for Kandrona for a time, but it driving the Yeerk crazy is not worth it for Esplin.
    • In regards to other species, as his own kind has done, Esplin uses five Classes. Class 1 is for those that just plain cannot be infested, Class 2 for those that can but suffer from severe drawbacks, Class 3 for those that cannot be bred quickly, Class 4 for those who are too strong to take on, and Class 5 for those who can be bred quickly and cannot resist infestation. At first, the Yeerk Empire thought of humans as Class 5, but their influence on their infestors ultimately make them a Class 4 like Andalites. And since Esplin is the only (natrual) Yeerk in the Pantheon, this Classification is not really applicable as it is now, only as a personal list.
    • Unlike the Animorphs or Alloran, Esplin has no restraints whatsoever in regards to whom he acquires his morphs from. Because of that, he's gotten some bigger and badder morphs, and his share of extra foes as a result of that. This includes within the GUAE, who all keep their distance in case Esplin ever decides to acquire them for any reason. That said, a few have considered providing him various creatures or captured enemies to acquire to his advantage.
      • All the creatures hunted by the Monster Hunters have drawn his interest, except the Deviljho, given its Horror Hunger is reminiscent of Taxxons, and he's not testing if that hunger is just as powerful. This also gets him in the crosshairs of the Monster Hunters when they mistake him for their usual quarry. And even if he breaks their usual behavioral patterns, there are those too stubborn to call off the hunt. One time he was forced to demorph, they were rightly peeved, and willing and even able to hunt an Andalite.
      • Kaiju like Godzilla are another tantalizing candidate for acquiring (though not infesting since they're too big, and holding them down during his feeding period is highly impractical). Actually reaching one and getting close enough to touch them is a challenge in and of itself, though it may simultaneously be easy if the target is busy. There's also the fact that kaiju fights might take longer than 2 hours, and the fact that he's pretty much vulnerable if he has to morph back in the middle of a battle without combat support.
    • Unlike other Evil Overlords, when he's backed into a corner with zero fallback options and zero chances of making a comeback courtesy of underlings or allies, Esplin's perfectly willing to courteously surrender without a fight. This is what he did in the finale of the invasion of Earth when the Animorphs and a traitorous subordinate corner him separately, whereas most would be Defiant to the End or be Ain't Too Proud to Beg. It's a trait inherent in all Yeerks, where they surrender when obviously defeated, and they find it bizarre for anyone to fight past the breaking point, and making last stands. There are those in the GUAE who wish to stamp out that line of thinking, especially if this means he'll sabotage others in order to stay alive.
    • Has commonality with Dio Brando, including the megalomania, the hamminess, the joy in controlling others, the obscene level of power coupled with utter disregard for sentient life, and above all the sheer audacity of how much they enjoy being an irredeemably evil piece of charismatic garbage, and loving what they do. Esplin knows that the "vampire" is too strong to infest though, or even to restrain when he needs to feed every three days. His compatriots in the GUAE have also compared him to Father's homunculus Envy given what he truly is beneath his terrifying appearance.
  • Exclusive to Alloran:
    • Having been a host body to Esplin for several Earth years, and subject to every atrocity he's done, Alloran strongly opposes all forms of mind control and puppeteering. The trauma has had to go through is too much for nearly any being to bear. He has most experience with ones where you're conscious the entire time you're under control. Despite having allegedly given the order himself (if he wasn't just set up as the scapegoat for it), Alloran also dislikes those who would destroy an entire race just to deny them from the enemy, as his race did with the Hork-Bajir, and almost did the same for humanity as well to stop the Yeerks were it not for his intervention on the Animorphs' behalf as soon as Esplin left him after getting cornered. The fact that there's an entire hall dedicated to the former really concernes him, most of all Death Phantom, whom he hates the most. The Sailor Guardians harbor sympathy towards the old War Prince given that one of their number, Chibi-Moon, was once controlled by Death Phantom to be his right-hand woman.
    • Not having acquired any other birds yet, Alloran's default flying morph is the kafit from his home world. When asked if Esplin somehow infiltrated it and acquired the bird, Alloran scoffed at the thought. He had (plausibly) acquired the kafit prior to his infestation. After hearing where that ridiculous assumption came from, he chided Ax for coming to that conclusion.
