Funny / Game Grumps - Arin and Danny Sonic

Go To

Arin and Danny play games from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Hilarity ensues.

    open/close all folders

    Shadow the Hedgehog
Part 1
  • The playthrough opens with Dan saying "Oh, fuck." when they see Shadow loading an assault rifle.
  • The guys can't stop laughing throughout the entire absurd intro, comparing it to bad fanfiction.
  • When thanking the user 'Jurrasicore' for sending a copy of the game, a little picture of a T-rex pops up on the corner of the screen.
  • I am the newspaper stopper.
  • The constant ridiculing of Shadow's 'angsty' and 'edgy' nature.
  • Danny compares his first impression of the game to his Grandmother's first and only email, which reads as follows:
"Hi, Dan, this is my first email... please call me so I never have to do this again."
Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6Part 7Part 8Part 9Part 10
  • The game fails to explain the Missile Lock-On on Shadow. Followed by Danny researching the various meanings of Rouge.
  • At one point, Arin dismisses Black Doom with "whatever, dad!" Those familiar with the game will know Black Doom is Shadow's biological father.
  • The Grumps note some unfortunate implications in the game's script.
Soldier: Commander. The invaders! Estimated over a thousand black aliens inbound-
    Dan: Whoa, whoa!
    Arin: Dude! Come on!
Soldier: According to reports, Shadow's also been sighted with the black aliens!
    Dan: Jesus, come on, man!
Arin: Well then, Shadow is clearly a terrorist.
    [...]
Dan: I don't like the way they're saying black. "He's been hanging out with the black aliens."
Arin: Soon there's gonna be other aliens, and they're just gonna call them "aliens."
    (Grumps crack up)
Arin: "Oh, the aliens, they're on our side."
    Dan: "Yeah, they're alright."
Part 11Part 12
  • Black Doom demonstrates why he's That One Boss.
Arin: I'm so actually grumpy on Game Grumps!
  • After getting ONE of the endings, Arin & Danny are exhausted from playing the game.
  • During the credits, the flashback of Shadow and Maria being chased by GUN soldiers comes up again.
Danny: What the heck happened to Alice in Wonderland?
Arin: I didn't go down the good path, ya idiot! I went down the bad path.
Danny: So her fate just remains a mystery?
Arin: I guess. I could play it again? Do you wanna play it again?
    Danny: *hurried* No-I'm-Good-Thanks!
  • The description for the final video? "I DON'T CARE IF THERE ARE FIFTY ENDINGS WE'RE DONE"

    Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric
  • Arin sets the tone immediately in episode 1.
Arin: Now I've heard...this is the worst game ever. ... I guess the general idea is they rushed this for Christmas, and it's just as bad as Sonic '06.
    Dan: Oh, my dream!
  • Dan tries to get out of this playthrough before it starts.
Dan: Should I just preemptively break my own neck to, like, avoid doing this?
    Arin: I mean, you should.
    Dan: See ya! crunching sound
Arin: (feigning distress) Oh! Dan, no! Dan! Dan!
Dan: sound of a plastic bottle crunching You know, releasing the water bottle really fuckin' breaks the illusion.
  • Arin and Danny laughing it up when in the first cutscene in the whole game Sonic apparently dies for real less than two minutes in. Then the game nonchalantly cuts to "Yesterday"... and Arin just loses his shit.
  • Arin highlighting Sonic fans freaking out online because of Sega's review embargo.
Arin: Why aren't there any reviews? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS GAME??!
  • Their reaction to Shadow's wordless cameo at the beginning.
Danny: Hey. Sup. Remember me? I don't play by your daddy's rules.
Arin: Uh, true ambivalence towards good and evil. Whatever.
  • In part 2, Knuckles is shown in the background supposedly to show he's going through the level along-side the player. Instead he spends the entire it time jumping up and down in one spot, sending Arin into a laughing fit.
  • This brief bit from episode 1.
Tails: What happened to Metal [Sonic]?
Danny!Knuckles: I don't know... fucking... kinda pussies took it over for a while.
    Arin!Knuckles: It got "alternative", quote-unquote.
  • Metal Sonic, Sonic's equal and sometimes-superior in speed, loses Sonic and friends inside the temple because the robot chose to speed-walk after them while the giant door slowly closed in front of him.
Danny!Metal Sonic: Aww, if only I could walk faster... (Door closes in his face, Arin loses it)
    • Half the army of robots behind Metal phases in and out of existence multiple times during said cutscene.
  • As Arin has to go through the monotonous tutorial stage of the game that showcases every character's abilities in order to release Lyric, Danny sees there are energy beams flowing into crystals and makes a parallel to the infamous Craiglist JO-crystal post because Arin really charged them up.
  • Arin's incredulity at this game being what it is throughout the playthrough.
Arin: Why am I wasting all these rings when I have 100? You always have 100 rings! There's no fucking threats in this game! There's none! What is there here to upset me, aside from EVERYTHING?
Arin: Man, they really don't care what their game is.
  • Arin having the characters stand inside of an NPC, creating graphical abominations.
  • Barry starts out part 7 with a frame-by-frame analysis of all the graphical mistakes present in just the game's opening cutscenes.
    • How many problems does Barry have? We don't see the intro until about six minutes in. Nearly half the video was Barry (justifiably) complaining about how many problems are in this $60 game.
  • Their complete bewilderment at seeing Amy wade into knee-deep water and instantly drown.
Danny: That is the only real threat you have had this entire game. A pond.
Arin: Let me check the temperature of the water real quick, ABRLBRBBRBLLRBRBLRBR
  • As more NPCs refuse to talk to them, they conclude that even the characters want nothing to do with the game.
Commenter: Christ, the first town in Fallout was friendlier than this.
  • The playthrough takes a drastic turn in part 8, when they learn about a glitch that lets Knuckles jump forever and start abusing it mercilessly. When confronted with a door that the game requires Sonic, Tails, and Amy to work together to open, Arin just uses Knuckles's glitch to jump over it.
Dan: "Knuckles, you can sit this one out." "Oh, CAN I?"
Arin: Goodbye, door! Hello, advancing through the game!
    • Before the end of that same episode, Arin jumps over the world boundary and drops off into infinite nothingness.
Arin: Well, looks like I'm just here now. I think I might have broken everything.
Danny: Right, so, your opinion. Sonic Boom. Great game, or greatest game?
  • Also from part 8: After messing around with the infinite jump glitch, a cutscene occurs earlier than it should and the game tells the players to go back in time and meet the past self of an NPC. Since the time travel has not yet been introduced, this is met with a sarcastic "Oh. Okay. That's easy."
    • The NPC's name? Tucker. Cue the editors putting in a subtle photo of a younger Tucker Prescott.
  • In Part 9, while abusing the Knuckles Glitch, Knuckles at one point just STANDS IN MID-AIR (which seems oddly familiar...).
Danny: Oh no! You fell off the nothing into more nothing!
  • Arin manages to find a button he needs to press to progress...that won't press. Dan's sort-of impression of Arin sells it.
Arin: There's a fucking green button here and it's not getting pressed.
Dan: I WANT to PRESS it! That's what I WANT to DO!
Arin: (laughing) Are you quoting me?
    Dan: ...No.
  • Near the end of part 10 as Knuckles and Amy ride an elevator and fight a gauntlet of enemies, a teeny, little robot pops out of a hole after Arin smashes open a grate by blowing up a robot mook. The munchkin-size binocular bot leaves a random assist item when beaten, and after being defeated, it drops a trumpet. Arin picks it up, and finds out it can be used as a weapon and starts blowing up robots with heliotrope musical notes. Danny breaks out laughing at the total randomness of it. Then the Grumps lose it when they listen closely to the sound it makes when blown and realize it sounds less like a trumpet, and more like a cacophony of grumbly farts.
    Danny: Somebody's rootin' tootin', baby!
    • Arin also notes it sounds like a tuba. The fact it shoots out rainbow-colored notes sounds like an all-too-familiar affair, since Jon found a rainbow tuba in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
    • TUBA DOT WAV!
    • Arin is ridiculously tired during this episode, revealed during a discussion regarding the FCC:
Arin: What happens if the...FFFA, the food, the national, what's the food one? SDC?
      Dan: The FDA.
      Arin: FDA. Franklin Delanor Assevelt.
Dan: Have you perhaps not slept in a couple of days?
  • Both Grumps admit in part 12 that they ate Play-Doh when they were little. For the exact same reason in unison- because it's so salty!
    • The Stinger for said episode after Arin expressed a desire to make another Sequelitis to show everyone why he hates the newer Sonic games but happened to piss off Dan earlier for insulting Sonic Colors, the one Sonic game he actually likes.
Danny: You should absolutely do a Sonic Sequelitis.
      Arin: I've been wanting to.
Danny: I'll click the "Dislike" button.
      (they both laugh)
  • Arin revealing he bid on one of the E.T. Atari cartridges buried in the desert and won it for over $1000. All because he made a ridiculous bid near the end of the auction. It cost him $1,175 to get it, and it possibly doesn't even work.
  • Danny recollects a time when he and Arin were just getting to know each other and Danny wasn't sure where Arin's boundaries were, and then Arin sent him a text saying, "I can't wait to get inside your asshole." Danny's response was "OK, I guess we're friends now."
    • Then Danny pulls the same trick with newcomer editor Kevin, asking if he can bend him over and take his Filipino body to Frisco town, and he reacts accordingly via semi-alarmed text blurbs on-screen.
  • Danny talks about a detailed dream he's had where a loved one has died and he's gone through the entire grieving process, only to wake up and remember that the person is still alive. He's deflated when he learns that Arin can't relate to this experience at all.
  • In Part 17, Arin reacts with incredulous, horrified laughter when Danny tells him of Rick James' various real-life torture and kidnapping charges, and then genuine disgust when he finds out he only served two years for it.
Arin: I guess when you're famous you really CAN get away with murder...
  • The whole latter half of episode 21, where Arin uses the Knuckles glitch to get to the top of an invisible wall, then explores a part of the game that hasn't loaded properly because he didn't get to it the way he was supposed to. The episode ends when he finishes running around a big patch of empty space, then turns around and finds an entire town has appeared behind him.
  • Arin getting Knuckles stuck in something yet again just like his and Jon's Sonic '06 playthrough. Only this time, it's not a rock face, but a bridge near a tree, and this glitch isn't the cause of frustration, but hi-jinks from deliberately screwing around with a Game-Breaking Bug.
  • During Part 24, the absolute myriad of glitches which occur:
Arin: (notices no less than three characters glitching up) Well, Sonic, you having a good time?
Danny: (at a total loss for words) Whaa...!?
(The Grumps break down laughing, Arin so much so he wails with laughter)
Danny: (to the tune of "Smooth Criminal", accompanied by Kevin editing in an image of Michael Jackson with Sonic's head pasted on shuffling on-screen) ♫ BOO-DOO-DUH-DUH-DOO-DOO-DUH-DUH-DOO-DOO-DUH-DUH-DOO-DOO, HOO!!
    (Arin is still losing it)
  • The Grumps are very sleepy in part 29, and while trying to tell a story Dan gets fed up with Arin's failure to navigate an Amy jumping puzzle.
Dan: But like, ever since Ninja Sex Party started - what the H? Just jump with Knuckles. For the love of Christ. I mean, like-
    Arin: I have that power.
Dan: I feel like every time we say "Jesus," if Jesus is out there he's looking at it like "What? This shit again? Just use Knuckles!"
Arin: "I've bestowed my powers upon him! Jeez - that's me, you're making me say it!"
  • Episode 30 ends with Danny snarking on the dialogue.
"There's a path. Is it a path? We made a path! Nice! Everyone OK? Let's follow the path!... Alright good, now has everyone said a thing?"
  • Arin telling a story about him and Suzy getting a pair of $20 gift cards to Applebee's. They went there, used their first gift card, started eating their meal...and without saying a word looked at each other, and offered their second gift card to the people at the table next to them, because they decided they were NEVER going back there again.
  • Episode 34 has Barry teaching another class on shoddy programming and it's both funny and awesome.
Welcome back to another episode of 'My God... They Made a Video Game.'
  • The extended opening of episode 36, where Arin claims the show is now about Janeane Garofalo's Mount Everest expedition, and Dan complains that these things need to be cleared with him before they start the episode. Cue three minutes where Arin does the opening but adds something new every time, which has to be continually cleared with Dan. And after the first time they restart the episode, a warped version of the opening plays every time they start over as it gets more and more ridiculous.
    • In all, they have seven false starts before eventually doing a legitimate intro.
      • Intro 1: Dan needs cleared that Arin can even make the show about Janeane's expedition.
Arin: Alright. Run the intro again.
Dan: (pause) Wha— (cut off by intro)
      • Intro 2: Arin says it's about Janeane's expedition to Mount Everest. Dan insists it needs cleared. Arin apologizes and asks to run the intro again. The intro then runs in reverse.
      • Intro 3: Arin realizes he forgot to have (an increasingly exasperated) Dan clear the previous intro. The intro this time is slowed down and cuts straight to the end during Dan's part.
      • Intro 4: Arin makes Janeane's expedition starring himself because someone needs to narrate it. The intro now runs extremely sped-up, normally and then backwards
      • Intro 5: Arin insists that he's narrating and specifically says Dan isn't included. Dan, increasingly frustrated, forces Arin to include him and demands the episode be restarted to include this. The intro runs extra slow and in terrible quality.
      • Intro 6: Arin complies and adds Dan, but says "expe-dick-tion", which Dan questions, so Arin restarts the episode. Intro is sped up.
      • Intro 7:
Arin: (frustrated) WELCOME BACK TO "JANEANE GAROFALO'S EXPEDITION TO MOUNT EVEREST" STARRING ARIN HANSON AND ALSO DAN AVIDAN, WHO IS APPARENTLY A STICKLER FOR FUCKIN' PRONUNCIATION.
Dan: YES... now we can start Game Grumps.
both bust up laughing before intro rolls regularly'
    • After forgetting Amy had a triple jump early on in the game because he abused the hell out Knuckles's infinite jump bug to the point it slipped his mind, Arin finally remembers Amy has a triple jump out of an unavoidable need to use her ability when he can't play with Knuckles due to the character party splitting up. And only because Danny reminds him. And even then only after a viewer, a gal named Sabrina, a complete stranger, had to go and tell him to his face at a Starbucks!
      • More of a meta joke, as the people in the YouTube comments section were practically bellowing at him for being so slipshod, screaming as clearly as possible "AMY CAN TRIPLE JUMP!" and the Grumps didn't notice a one. The frustration mounted for so long, that the relief caused by seeing Arin use Amy's triple jump resulted in this video being posted on the same day this episode was released. In fact, some top comments read:
        DAN YOU ARE A GODSEND

Thank you for knowing the triple jump, or Arin would have stayed there for the rest of the episode.
        nekusakuraba01
Thank you Sabrina, apparently the only way to make contact with the Game Grumps is if you approach them in a Starbucks.
I saw like a million comments saying Amy can triple jump like 2 weeks ago...
        KLPs22
Episode 1: They found out how to fucking infinite jump.
        Fanbase: "meh"
Episode 36: They found out how to triple jump.
Fanbase: "OMG U RETARDS FINALLY DID IT NOW IT MAKES EVERYTHING SO MUCH BETTER"

        yes.
        eDmanity
  • At the start of Part 38, Danny improvs a haiku and messes up the syllable count for the last line, spawning a new meme: It's snowing on Mt. Fuji. Then he decrees all haikus must end with that line even though it breaks the rules. Cue a huge portion of the Grumps fandom commenting with their own haikus all ending in "It's snowing on Mt. Fuji."
    • Even better, the official Sonic the Hedgehog twitter itself referenced it
  • In Part 39, near the 5:30 mark, they start talking about fanfiction, starting off with the usual hilarity of Slash Fic, before Danny mentions My Immortal and starts talking about it to a horrified/interested Arin.
    • Although they move on to more nuanced discussions about fanfics, about half the comments are about My Immortal and the requisite horror. A deeply hidden one puts a link to the author's YouTube account, and the legit author is still making My Immortal content.
    • Danny then goes on about after the video he made with Brooke "Dodger" Lawson of Press Heart to Continue, DannyXDodger started cropping up all over the place. Since Dan and Dodger are friends, sometimes they come across it while they're both at the same computer, and there's just that moment where they look at each other and feel so damn awkward about it.
  • In Part 40, Dan starts off with how, technically, we're all animals, so we should legally be able to screw animals. This sets off Arin's turn, where he jokes about how someone with no sex experience would talk about sex. Some great quotes follow.
    "I kissed her betweenleg!"
"She lost her virginity for the fourth time that night!"
    "And I was un-stoppable!"
  • Arin slips off the side of a falling platform in the sky but, because of the gravity physics, actually beats it to the bottom of the bottomless pit. His reaction to the entire exchange is a rather succinct summary of the entire playthrough.
  • In the prelude to the Final Boss, Danny jokes about the game's Captain Obvious Aesop and the idea of the game teaching the wrong message instead.
Lyric: I know your weakkness, Sonic. It's your friends.
Danny as Sonic: Friends are a weakness. I know.
Arin as Sonic: I've been trying to get these assholes off my back for YEARS! But they keep glitching towards me!
  • Even the credit roll
    Danny: QUALITY ASSURANCE?!
    • Arin points out a typo in the credits.
Arin: Look, there's two spaces between Frank Chiechi.
      Danny: I missed it.
Arin: Like, they couldn't even quality assure their fucking credits.
Danny: *Laughs* Yeah, they spelled "Quality Assurance" K-W-A-L-I-T-Y.
      Arin: *Dumb voice* KWALITY!
Danny: Ohhh, Michael W. Dong... *Arin loses it*
    • They hit a long list of "Functionality Testers".
Arin: Functionality testers!? *Dan loses it* Why are there so many!? There's a lot of them!
Danny: All these people are, like, tied up and gagged in a room.
      Arin: I mean, come on!
      Danny: Wow..."Why is this—!? AAGH!"
    • Made even funner in hindsight when a discussion during the Super Mario 64 playthrough (Part 36- Koalaity Assurance) reveals one of the QA team actually contacted the Grumps and said it wasn't their fault the game sucked because nobody really listened to their advice.
  • The fact that because Arin abused Knuckles's infinite jump glitch, he was able to leap over a gate he wasn't supposed to, screw over the Rail Roading, and skip half the game. Without even meaning to. In later episodes, the Grumps look back on their playthrough and wonder what the 40% they missed would've been like and if it is worth going back to play the game, but ultimately decide they dodged a big bullet on that one and were spared wasting their lives.
  • The channel's official Best of Sonic Boom compilation even gets one, as Arin's joke about Buzzfeed's 30 second ads is immediately followed by an advertisement which in some cases is indeed 30 seconds (assuming the viewer doesn't have them blocked). Whether this was a clever request by the producers or Youtube staff, clever voice recognition by Youtube's algorithms, or a pure coincidence is unknown, but it's still a great moment of timing.

    Sonic Adventure DX
Part 1
  • Dan's reaction to what they're playing in the first few seconds:
Dan: Okay, I have my hat down, I have not seen what game this is, it's a surprise that Arin is excited about, and I'm looking now—oh god.
  • Nearly the first thing they see in the game is this. Horrible lip sync, go!
  • After the first boss, they run into an NPC that tells them "Don't worry if the view suddenly changes. It does that sometimes." Arin is flummoxed, thinking that there's a glitchy camera with an IN-GAME explanation, and Danny is worried that the NPC's jittery movements means he has St. Vitus' Dance.
  • They have just begun playing the game and already this happens.
Arin (screaming): I'M UP HERE NOW!!!
Dan: Oh, next time on Game Grumps! This is gonna be gooood. Ah. Oh, Arin, what a gift you've given me on this day. Wow.
Arin: Sonic Boom, eat your heart out.
Dan: Yeah, right? Fuck. 'slike, Sonic Boom WISHES it could be this terrible.

Part 2

  • Arin boasts that he knows exactly what he's doing only to immediately change his tune.
  • Sonic runs along a wall but doesn't have enough momentum to stay on there, resulting in Sonic doing a comically slow moonwalk down onto the ground of the stage. Can be seen here.

Part 3

Part 5

  • Arin's frustration with a Light Dash into a very quickly closing door which goes on for two minutes and over a dozen attempts. While having to deal with massive Camera Screw every time they climb up the stairs for another try.
  • Arin and Danny's impersonations of Street Fighter characters are just beyond hilarious and need to be heard to be believed. It's just....wow...
    Arin: "Datzmuksedbuuurken."
    and then
    Danny: "DATZHRUGECKPRYOOKECH!!"
(both of which are supposed to be "Tatsumaki-Sempuukyaku")

Part 6

  • There's this conversation:
Arin: Why does her groove have to be defined by... whether she has a man or not?
Dan: (obviously confused) I don't know, Bechdel test! *Arin laughs* I'm just fucking saying, I think that's what the movie was about!
  • When they play "Cards & Pinball", they are absolutely dumbfounded by the NiGHTS crossover, where they literally enter the NiGHTS world for a half a minute at a time.
Dan: Like, am I going insane right now?
Arin: Y'know, I'm right there with you, buddy.
Dan: I'm not going to say I've ever taken mushrooms, but if I had ever taken mushrooms, hypothetically, that's what it looked like.
Arin: Yeah? Sweet. Then I'm glad that I could share something drug-related with you.
    Dan: Yeah, for sure.
Arin: (cracking up) By playing a Sonic game.

Part 7

  • Anoli lizards attract mates by puffing out their large red necks. Dan had some, and they did that at one point...
Dan: I was just trying to feed them some mealworms, and all of a sudden there's lizard fucking right in front of my eyes...
  • Dan can't handle the ramps.
Dan: (tries to talk) Jesus! I'm trying to hold a conversation and, ah! My brain explodes every time you go off a ramp!

Part 8

  • Arin gushes about macaroni and cheese and how everybody loves it, going on about how every pasta dish is macaroni and cheese (chicken alfredo, lasagna, etc.) at its core. This goes on for a full twenty seconds, prompting Dan to take the role of episode listener "Billy", a terminally-ill child that's been diagnosed with multiple self-inflicted head injuries from watching Game Grumps.
Dan: Hey, Billy, what was your favorite Game Grumps episode?
Billy: I really liked the one where Arin talked about macaroni for a loooooooong time!
(Arin and Dan both crack up)
Dan: Going in for your surgery today, Billy?
Billy: Yeah...hope it goes well. My brain ain't so good!

Parts 9 and 10

  • Arin's walkthrough of the game proves to be completely useless on telling you where Amy is, so he gives up playing as Sonic and switches over to Tails (and actually gets a good 10% of his campaign done). But then Dan intervenes saying that he wants Arin to play as Sonic again, prompting Arin to get irritated, switch back to Sonic, and within 45 seconds meets up with Amy. Just think, if Dan had never intervened, this playthrough could have been way different!

Part 13

  • "Oh my god! You fucking vaporized that monkey!"
  • "You and your overzealous leaps into— JESUS CHRIST!"
  • Danny learns what happened to the original Santa in The Santa Clause.
    Dan: He kills Santa?!?
Arin: He deflates on camera, and his kid is all traumatized: "YOU KILLED SANTA!" And his dad's like aaauuuueeeEEEEUUUGGGHHH?!! (both crack up at the impression)

Part 15

Part 16

  • Arin/Sonic completes Sky Deck, and midway through the results screen, Tails turns to Sonic and has his backside stuck right in front of the Grumps for the next 5 seconds.
Dan: Tails, get your ass out of the camera!

Part 17

  • Three happen follow in quick succession: Sonic flattens into a pancake and fills back out, the return of the awful lip animation, along with Sonic half-heartedly saying "Argh, I hate Eggman!" apropos of nothing, and Sonic seems confused about the Navi-lookalike that has helped him the entire game, acting like he doesn't recognize her.

Part 18

Part 21

  • Arin accidentally says Avi (Dan's father) when he meant to say "Navi" (referring to their little Exposition Fairy friend), so Dan gives the fairy the voice of his dad.
Dan (as Avi): EHHHHHH GET ON THE SPINNING TOP, NICE JUMP, YOU BLEW IT...

Part 22

Part 24

Part 28

  • Arin has a freak out when he discovers that enemies can be holding Master Emerald pieces.
Arin: [The Chaos Emerald piece] is around here fucking somewhere, it's probably right under my goddamn nose, I ju- (smashes an enemy and gets the piece) ... IT WAS INSIDE THE GUY?
  • Dan and Arin read a walkthrough which doesn't seem very helpful and we get this:
Danny: (reading the walkthrough) "There are no secret places the pieces are hidden in. Just glide around until you locate them all."
    Arin: OH MAN!!
    Danny: Worst walkthrough ever!
Arin: What a great walkthrough! I wanna open up a walkthrough for Mario and it's just like: play!
Danny: (Bursts into laughter) Do the thing until the credits happen!

Part 29

  • When Knuckles starts doing some Hong Kong Dubbing.
Danny: We are reaching Godzilla from the seventies level of dubbing right now.
  • Knuckles seeing Eggman casually (and slowly) walking into an elevator with a Chaos Emerald.
  • What the hell is this?
Danny: Oh, here I come... (Knuckles is still walking) ...Oh my god, this fucking scene!
(Knuckles walks in place then stops)
Arin: ...What the fuck was that?... Oh my god! Is this some kind of brilliant avant-garde student film? (tries to speak but can't)
  • The walkthrough Arin and Danny are reading from continues to be spectacularly unhelpful (though this is because the locations are randomized), with descriptions for the Knuckles stages like "This area isn't too large. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding the Emerald shards."
Arin: Here's how you beat this level: FIGURE IT OUT FOR YOURSELF ASSHOLE.
Danny: What a colossal waste of time and effort...
  • Three levels of inane emerald hunts, an unhelpful walkthrough, and then the camera spazzing out when "Navi" tries to show them the way, leads to a little Freak Out.

Part 32

  • Danny gives the user name of the unhelpful walkthrough (who wrote it 11 years ago); after a helping of What the Hell, Hero? and My God, What Have I Done? when a number of Grumps fans tracked down the user and harassed him, they reposted the video and dubbed over any mentions of his user name with "PIZZA!". This turns it nonsensically funny.
Arin: I just like that his name is [PIZZA!]...They call me the [PIZZA!] because my walkthroughs are like fucking [PIZZA!]
Danny: They call me [PIZZA!] because my walkthroughs are like driving a [PIZZA!] pedal to the metal into a brick wall!
Arin: Where's this last fucking emerald? I don't even care anymore...
Danny: 'You should be able to find it on your own', Arin! [PIZZAAAA HA HA!] agrees! This is [PIZZA PIZZA] approved.
  • After clearing the Lost World Action Stage, Knuckles does his victory animation inside a pillar.
    Arin: (anguished muffling)
Danny: Don't worry about it. It's fine.
    Arin: (more anguished muffling)

Part 33

  • The episode has a pretty dramatic opening...
Danny: (beatboxing while Knuckles walks in place in slow-mo)
Arin: In a World…... where nothing fucking makes sense... and the laws of physics don't apply... This echidna... is gonna walk reeeaaal slow.

Part 36

  • The episode opens with the start of Amy's campaign, and less than two minutes in these gems pop up:
  • When looking over the remaining character campaigns, Arin is unable to pronounce E-102 "γ"'s name, not being very skilled in Greek. He then opts to call the "γ" (Gamma) "yep-silon."
  • In a similar vein to Sonic Boom, Arin and Danny constantly make fun of the extremely poor characterization of Amy. Then comes this brilliant coincidence in Amy's intro:
Amy: But now [Sonic's] gone. And there's nothing left to do...
Arin: ...except be a stereotypical girl.
Amy: ...but shop 'til I drop.

Part 38

  • Amy's Sexy Dance.
Arin (as Amy): Like whatcha see, boys??
  • The Grumps got some samples of products from a candy company they might be collaborating with, and one was a disgusting super-sour lemonade called "Ninja Sex Candy: Golden Shower." Apparently everyone in the Grumpspace found it disgusting, but Arin kept drinking it in spite of himself. They then provide some sound-bytes to remixers who might want to make a song about how Arin loves drinking piss.

Part 42

  • Arin and Danny poke fun at Amy's panty shots.
Dan: Boy, her panty shots are so hot that I'm not even bothered by her monster hands.
Arin: Her panty shots are getting me so dang hot!
  • During the fight with ZERO, Arin and Danny create an alternate character interpretation for ZERO, who does not understand his sexual arousal over Amy's panty shots. The whole battle itself is pretty funny.
    Arin: OH FUCK! ASS!
    Dan: PANTY SHOT OVERLOAD!
    Arin: NOT PROGRAMMED FOR BONER!
  • Arin's introduction for Big the Cat:
    "My name Big I'm big!"
  • Bigot the Cat.
Dan (as Big): Fuck that guy! Probably some dirty Armenian.
    Arin: (Laughs hysterically) Big!
Dan: Once again...nothing wrong with Armenians!

Part 44

  • In the cold opening, we get this gem during Big's first level.
Arin: I'm not a religious man, but if Hell exists I can't imagine it's much different than this.
  • After they finally finish Big's first level and wander around trying to find the Ice Key, Arin goes to his phone to pull up a walkthrough. He accidentally switched tabs to a porn site he had open, then he proceeds to turn off his iPhone without meaning to.
  • Danny speculates that the characters' stories were done with decreasing amounts of effort, with the most effort put into Sonic and the least put into Gamma. Based off of the one level of Big's they've seen, he guesses that Gamma's story is just "a picture of a monkey blowing itself."
  • Danny and Arin's conversation towards the end, when Dan learns that the next stage's objective is once again "Fish for and Catch Froggy," pretty much foreshadows what's to come.
Dan: Wow. That's awesome! So you have to do that like four or five more times?
    Arin: Yeah, four times.
    Dan: Oh. My. God.
    Arin: Yeah.
Dan: How you feeling? You alright?
    Arin: (laughs)
Dan: I'm like, really worried about you all of a sudden.

Part 46

  • Big's third level is Arin's worst. If you want the elevator pitch for this legendary moment in Game Grumps history, it's Arin having an emotional meltdown to the tropical sound of someone noodling with a detuned slide guitar.
    • Arin utterly loses his shit over Froggy refusing to bite, and Danny is unable to stop laughing at Arin's misfortune.
Arin: Get it get it get it. Like it! Want it, have it, need it-! (Froggy swims away) WHY?! WHY?
    • The official Sonic the Hedgehog tweeted about the Grumps' playthrough, with the above scene in particular as the centerpiece.
    • The best part is Danny suggesting that Arin's doing it wrong, and hundreds of people will yell about how to do it. But the comments can't actually agree on what the proper method for catching Froggy is...
    • At about nine minutes into the episode (and sporadically throughout), Danny starts performing a hilarious imitation of the stage's music and likens it to a "de-tuned slide guitar" going crazy. At fourteen minutes, he adds lyrics.
    • Danny wonders, "Do you think they make people at Guantanamo Bay play this?"
    • Froggy vanishing during one of Arin's meltdowns/Danny's laughing fits.
      Arin: Eat it!
(Froggy swims by, catching the fallen lure and dragging it along, but not actually biting)
Arin: Eat it, you piece of shit!! Fucking eat it!!!
(Froggy despawns, vanishing into thin air)
      Arin: What are you do-!!
Dan: AH, he's gone! (cracks up)
      Arin: WHAT HAPPENED!?
    • Ladies and gentleman, we have crossed the Despair Event Horizon.
Arin: This is where I am right now in life!
Dan: *Laughs* Ohhh, I'm going to throw up!
Arin: Everything I have ever accomplished in life has led to this exact moment!
    • After sixteen minutes of screaming agony, they finally catch Froggy! In the cutscene that follows, Gamma immediately grabs the amphibian right out of Big's hands and runs off.
      Dan: (laughing in shock)
      Arin: WHAT?!
Dan: Does this frog power diamond fuel?!
    • Among the top villains in video games, Froggy comes in first by a long shot.
      Arin: He's in SPACE.
    • Half the brilliance of this fight is that Froggy isn't just ignoring the lure, but he keeps going for the lure and deciding against it. It takes twelve tries for Froggy to actually bite.
      Dan: Nibble, nibble, nibble, done.
    • Dan's suggestion that Froggy's tail is actually a giant middle finger growing out of his ass.
    • By the end of the fishing trip in general Arin is so stressed out that he fluctuates between emotionally drained laughs at Dan's wisecracks and full on rage.
    • Dan's sudden remembrance that there is actually a plot to this game.
Danny: Oh, that's right. THIS is what Big the Cat has been doing the entire time while everyone else was trying to save the world?
    • The end sees Big boarding the Egg Carrier. When he muses that it doesn't look familiar to him, Danny breaks off his train of thought and says in about the most condescending voice:
Dan: No, it does not, Big. You're new here.

Part 49

  • Dan's flabbergasted reaction to Gamma also having to catch Froggy.
  • Arin and Dan talk about the birds and the bees for robots.
Eggman: I am your father and your mother! I birthed you from my MIND VAGINA!

Part 50

  • While playing on Emerald Beach as Gamma, they find some non-hostile monkey badniks hanging out on beach chairs.
Arin: [The monkeys] are just chilling out, too.
    Dan: Yeah.
Arin: They're like "We're not bothering anybody".
Dan (as Gamma just as Arin takes aim): TARGET ACQUIRED.
    both laugh
Arin (as Gamma): YOUR FACE IS BOTHERING MY FACE.
  • After walking through the level a bit more, they come across a blocked-off loop that was left in from Sonic's version of the level. Arin tries to force himself past the invisible barrier, prompting Gamma's model to freak out and this exchange:
Arin: I can't go through the loop-de-loop? C'mon, I can go through the loop-de-loop. Just give me... just give me a chance.
Danny (as Gamma): DESPERATELY PROGRAMMED TO LOOP.
Gamma's model starts to spin around due to Arin trying to force his way past the barrier
Arin (as Gamma): WANT TO LOOP.
Gamma runs away from the loop at high speed while Danny laughs
    Arin (as Gamma): LOOP GLITCH!
Gamma runs back to the barrier and starts spinning again
Arin (as Gamma): CAN NOT LOOP!!!
    Danny laughs some more
Arin (as Gamma): GOING LOOP CRAZY. DAAAAAAAAAH!!!
Gamma walks away from the loop to go on the dock
Arin (as Gamma in a calmer tone): LOOP OVERLOAD.
  • Arin brings back his "CHIZ PIZA" voice. Danny realizes that since Chris "OneyNG" O'Neill is in the Grump space and has an epic robot voice of his own, it would be a perfect opportunity to bring him in for a brief appearance. The results are hysterical.
Chris: Suck on my hot robot nuts.
  • Side note: while waiting for Danny to come back with Chris, Arin decides to watch the cutscene of Gamma finding the Chao... and he promptly goes insane after hearing their collective Chao-ese singing. And when Danny does come back and announces to the audience Chris' presence, he interrupts to comment about how terrifying the scene is.
Arin: (laughing) I'M TELLING YOU, DUDE, THIS MIGHT BE A BAD TIME!
  • After delivering Froggy to Eggman and witnessing Beta's reconstruction, Gamma has to go confront Amy and "learn to love again".
Arin: Man, [Amy is] being awfully sassy towards something carrying a gun and looking at [her] face.
    Danny: Yeah.
    switches to Gamma voice
Danny (as Gamma): YOU ARE BEING VERY SASSY FOR SOMETHING THAT HAS 8 SECONDS TO LIVE.
  • Whenever Gamma talks about freeing his friends (the Flickies that power the robots), the Grumps mistake it as a Deadly Euphemism and characterize Gamma as Ax-Crazy.

Part 54

  • While Gamma's section of the game ends on a down note what with Gamma and Beta dying and the Flickies powering them being set free, Danny and Arin manage to make it funny simply because they weren't paying attention earlier and honestly have no idea what's going on.

Part 55

Part 56 (The Finale)

  • The guys repeatedly lampshade that the city's in an Inferred Holocaust in spite of the happy ending.
  • Arin's reaction to Big the Cat randomly showing up after Chaos has destroyed the city.
Arin (as Big): WHAT AM I DOING HEEEERE?! CAN I FISH NOOOOW?! THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATERRRR!!!
  • After Arin and Danny make a big deal about how easy the final boss is, Arin remembers quite literally at the last second that you need to keep collecting rings in order to stay Super Sonic. Cue Super Sonic running out, Sonic dying, and take two of Perfect Chaos.

    Sonic and the Black Knight
    Sonic Unleashed
    Sonic Mania
  • During a discussion of sound effects in part 2:
Arin: You ever thought about doing mouth foley?
Danny: I have not and I'll thank you not to say things like that. That's not how I'm gonna get ahead in Hollywood.
    Sonic Forces
  • Danny and Arin create their Avatar: a lime-green cat with lifeless red eyes who break-dances when she completes a stage. And her name? Plurmp Dankenstein McFlurntennote the Cat, Esquire (she's a lawyer apparently).
    • And her name gets longer every episode (because Arin constantly forgets it and Danny adds more each time he repeats the name). Make way for Mr. Mrs. Dr. Plurmp Dangerfield Dankenstein McFlurnten the Cat the Monkey, Esquire Junior Senior.
Arin: Welcome back! I'm playing as, uh, s-suh, Certain McFlerten. Turntenstein McDirtenstein. [pause] Fuck's her name?
  • The Grumps are utterly taken aback by the big twist at the end of the game's first stage, where Sonic apparently dies and the game immediately flashes forward six months to when Eggman has taken over most of the world, especially since they'd been joking during the intro about how many of Eggman's plans Sonic has thwarted in the past.
Have you ever seen Ramsay Bolton? That's kind of what's going on here.
  • Dan immediately calling bullshit on the temporal shenanigans when Classic!Sonic appears.
Tails: You're that Sonic from another dimension, aren't you? Right, right, right, that makes sense...
  • On finding out that Sonic is alive and Eggman has been holding him prisoner, and that they have to go rescue him, we get this gem.
Arin: Man, Sonic's gonna be so proud of me, he's gonna give me some chevrons and shit.
Danny: No, dude, he's been tortured. He probably has Stockholm Syndrome now and thinks he's an egg.
  • From the same episode, when the prison sirens go off:
Rouge: Uh oh. They're on high alert now.
Arin: Oh, are they on high alert from the crazy monkey with a flamethrower running through their facility?
Dan: "Boss, I don't know how to tell you this. (laughter) If ever there was a time for high alert, it is now."
  • Arin immediately bursting into song when Infinite's theme begins playing as he beats up Silver, Dragon Ball style.
  • Sonic's conversation with Infinite is made funnier by Dan giving Infinite extra dialogue.
Sonic: So, what's your favorite color? Do you like long, romantic walks on the beach? What's the source of your power? You can skip the first two questions if you like.
Infinite: The source of my power is none of your concern. (Dan voicing him) As to your other questions, blue and yes!
  • Arin getting an S-Rank after giving Infinite a Curb-Stomp Battle.
  • In part 10, during Plurmp's battle with Infinite, Arin and Danny lose their minds over the sounds Infinite makes as he is rhythmically hit with Plurmp's whip. The jokes and laughter carry on for almost a good four minutes.
    • The episode is aptly titled "Gah! Ough! Agh!".
    • The boss fight is prolonged to over seven minutes on just a single attempt, as Arin fails to understand that getting hit by Infinite throws his avatar into an alternate dimension that prevents him from attacking (as well as not realizing his Lightning whip does only minimal damage compared to a standard attack). Despite many instances of this happening, it takes three minutes before it finally hits Arin.
Arin: Oh, I see what's happening...
    Danny: What's happening?
Arin: Every time he touches me with those squares—
Danny: Yeah, it sends you into the other dimension. Wow, Arin.
    Arin: How did YOU fucking—
Danny: How did I know? Because it happens literally every time! "Wait a minute...I've cracked the code!"
  • Just about a minute into part 11, Arin and Danny continue the running gag of Sonic and Knuckles wanting to have sex with Rouge, though Tails chimes in at the worst possible moment.
Danny(As Sonic): Seriously, you're gonna fuck one of us, right?
Tails: Got it! I'll take Sonic!
Arin: (As Sonic) *laughs* NO! I DON'T WANNA FUCK YOU, TAILS! JESUS!
Knuckles: We can finally smash Eggman into an omelette!
Rouge: Hey, don't count your chickens before you smash your eggs!
Arin (as Knuckles): [panting] Guh!! I'll-I'll smash your eggs.
    • Also they are not fond of Amy.
Amy: I just want everyone to get home safely, okay?
Danny: Ugh, what the fuck ever, Amy.
Arin: Fuckin' dry your wet blanket, Jesus!
  • In Part 17:
    • Roughly 2 minutes in Danny goes on a bizarre tangent involving Arin's parents (Lloyd and Maurette):
Danny: Isn't that weird to think about? You were Lloyd Hanson's jizz!
Arin: Aww, why'd you have to name him? That just makes it a thousand times worse!
Danny: Lloyd's jizz! That's how you started your existence on this Earth! Our buddy Lloyd shot you out of his balls!
    Arin: Alright! That's great!
    Danny: Sorry.
Arin: Isn't that weird to think about though that—
    Danny: And then Maurette's egg!!
    Arin: —Okay. Cool, man.
Danny: Took that jizz, and formed you. But they'd done it before, 'cuz your brother was previous jizz. [Beat] God, nature is amazing! [they start laughing] What a beautiful act ordained by God!
Arin: Creator of the dinosaurs to test our faith!
    • Notable in that this is one of the few times Danny manages to gross out Arin, who is usually Squick-proof.
  • During the final confrontation with Eggman, Danny has Tails suddenly wonder, "Where's my dick?"
Danny (as Tails): Where's, where's all of our dicks??
Arin (as Eggman): HAHAHA! I took them away! With all of these hands I have! I plucked them one by one like eyebrow hairs!

    Sonic Mega Collection Plus
  • The Grumps intend to do a series of Sonic Mega Collection Plus... but get completely sidetracked by the extras menu, particularly the comic covers. Their reactions are to die for.
Arin: This is the best thing we've ever done on this fucking show.
    • Their terrified reaction to the infamous Sonic Live cover, which is a very creepy painting of a derp-eyed Sonic coming out of the TV and grabbing the shoulder of an actual child.
Dan: I have had... nightmares. Almost exactly like this.
    • As they go through the covers, Dan comes across various characters he admits to finding cute and/or hot, leading to him immediately denying that he's a furry.
Dan: I don't wanna hear any of that "Dan confirmed as furry" shit either. (about two Princess Sallys grappling with each other) That's hot. No matter—I don't care if you're in it. That's—that's just hot.
Arin: (laughing hysterically): Like, you just open up some furry art, and you're just like, "Look, I don't want you to say"—and it's a furry like jacking off another furry—"I don't want any of this 'Dan is a furry' shit BUT LOOK AT THIS!"
Dan: Yeah, come on! I don't care who you are, that's hot!
Arin: (moans aggressively, zooms in on Robotnik watching the two Sallys) Look, even Robotnik thinks so. He's like "YEEEAAAAHHHH!"
    • They come across a particular cover that shows how Sonic winking is drawn. Both are befuddled.
  • The first game they actually play is Sonic 3D Blast. Dan is horrified by the pre-rendered intro.
  • They finally get around to trying the first game a try. Arin's immediate response is to get confused by the appearance of what he believes to be Metal Sonic in the Attract Mode (actually a Badnik in Spring Yard Zone), seriously wondering if he hallucinated it.
  • Danny is quite impressed when Arin gets a hidden invincibility monitor. He then immediately dies after assuming it also protects from a Bottomless Pit.
Arin: I don't know what this is. (hits Invincibility capsule, begins singing) It's a star!! (immediately jumps into the exact wrong place past the spikes and dies)
  • They note how the Game Over music really makes you feel like an idiot, comparing it to the classic failure music from The Price Is Right.
  • Part 3 opens with this declaration of Arin's:
Arin: All you sneeze porn website enthusiasts (Dan begins laughing) get ready!
    • He then fails to sneeze, having held it in too long.
  • Danny reveals that he's been sending his friends uplifting text messages...coupled with a sad face emoji.
  • Danny spends all of Star Light Zone careening between gushing over how cool the level is, and giving a disappointed "Aw" whenever Arin gets hit.
Arin: I did that on purpose.
    Danny: Really?
    Arin: No.
  • Arin loses all his lives to the beginner's trap pits at the start of Scrap Brain Zone, and they ponder the unfortunate kids upon the game's release who finally got this far only to have the same thing happen.
    • One especially bad run through Act 2 has him in a constant state of either getting hit or chasing after a couple rings, until he screams "JUST STOP, LEVEL!"
  • Arin goes on an extended rant against Kotaku and their bizarre refusal to acknowledge Game Grumps. Up to and including misspelling a tag as "Game Gruimps" for an article about Good Game.
  • Arin and Dan congratulating MatPat on having a child.
Arin: Congratulations to MatPat, by the way.
Dan: Oh yeah, he's a dad!
    Arin: Yeah, him and Stephanie.
Dan: Fuck yeah! That's- What kind of baby is it?
    Arin: A human.
Dan: Hmm, well good on you, MatPat. You made a human. No, boy or girl?
    Arin: Uh, it's a girl, I believe.
Dan: Aww. He's gonna be a great dad, they're gonna be great parents.
Arin: You know, I'm actually not sure, so maybe-
Dan: Wait, you're not sure of the gender or you're not sure if they're gonna be great parents?
    Arin: (laughs hysterically)
Dan: Fucking choose your moments carefully.

    Sonic and the Secret Rings

    Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
  • Dan, jokingly or not, finally confirms what many have suspected all along.
    Dan: "I'm a furry, it's fine!"
  • Dan's exasperation at horrible levels of dialogue versus music in the cutscenes, even in what's supposed to be an enhanced re-release. He imagines what it was like over at Sonic Team...
Gotta be honest, I don't care!
(Gasp) I don't care either! Let's get out of here and head to Friday's!
  • The return of Sonic fanfiction reading, "including all grammatical intricacies and spelling happy accidents".
    • Sonic's harem in the story has apparently expanded so wide it includes She-Hulk and Power Girl.
    • "IS THIS WHOLE THING JUST SONIC CUCKING MARIO!?"
  • Arin asks Danny to check out the total rings he collected that stage (420). Dan looks at the score.
    Dan: 7970! [...] Oh, 420. 420!
  • As promised, Danny reads another chapter of "Sonic's Ultimate Harem". Well, sort of. It takes Danny almost fifteen minutes to realize he's been reading from the exact same chapter he shared with Arin in Sonic Unleashed #46. For the last two videos (albeit Episode 4 featured the previously-unread first half of the chapter).
    • It also reaches the point where Dan asks with all sincerity if the writer even knows what sex is.
  • Right at the start of Part 5, Danny informs the audience that cooler heads in the Grumps' studio have informed him that because of Youtube's content demonetization algorithms, it was actually a bad idea to have swearing and raunchy content within the first minute of the video. That would, unfortunately, include the continuation of their Sonic fanfic reading from Part 4. About 48 seconds in...
Arin: "Oh, man. I thought the bit you were going for was, like, you were going to drag it out until it was exactly one minute and you were like 'alright, time for the fanfic!'"
    Danny: "Oh. Well, that's kind of a cheesy move. Fifty-four, fifty-five, fifty-six..."
    Arin: (cracks up)
Danny: "...fifty seven, fifty eight, fifty nine, and...(continues reading raunchy Sonic fanfiction)."
  • Part 11 has Dan read another chapter of "Sonic's Ultimate Harem" due to fan demand:
    • Sonic's harem expands even further still, and now includes Boa Sandersonia and Princess Daisy. The former confuses the Grumps as they assumed "Hancock's sister" referred to the Will Smith movie.
    • "It's more than a surprise, Sonic, it's outrageous." "Yeah, you can say that."
    • In the story, Sonic initially refuses to have sex with Daisy since she's Luigi's girlfriend; the Grumps immediately lampshade how this is after he's had his way with at least fifty of Mario's own girlfriends, from at least three universes worth of characters.

    Sonic Heroes
  • Sonic Heroes is known as arguably the most mechanic-heavy Sonic game, due to its unique three-character team mechanic that involves specific abilities, enemies with multiple hit points, routes that demand a specific character handle it, etc. Arin, who is notoriously absent-minded about such things, pays no mind to any of them and struggles on the first stages, such as using Tails to fly over obstacles Knuckles could easily punch through, not understand basic attack commands, and ignoring the Team Blast mechanic to clear a screen of enemies. When he starts to use the contextual hints, they're obtuse to him as they're both in-character and build on the mechanics that came before. To make matters worse, Heroes also has maybe the longest individual stages in series history and limited lives to complete them, which hilariously drives Arin up the wall (and throwing Danny into fits of laughter at his misfortune) replaying stages over and over. By the end of episode 3, over an hour and a half of footage, Arin has only completed three stages.
  • Dan at one lampshades Arin voicing his concern over how bad he is at Heroes, mimicking the comments below: "I know, right?! What are you, Arin from Game Grumps?!"
  • Dan and Arin are recording remotely from their own houses due to COVID-19 for this series. Dan uses the video call to his advantage, playing sounds from a fart soundboard (since Arin won't be able to see him getting his phone out). One particular sound, called "fart with reverb", repeatedly causes Arin to crack up.
  • Due to de-monetization practices from YouTube over mentioning COVID-19, the Grumps had been using the code name "The Backstreet Boys Reunion Tour" in prior episodes to talk about it. This continues to have a hilarious effect as they continue to talk about their lives in such context, especially when Arin whiffs at every ring he attempts to grab at one point in episode 3:
Danny: Yeah, treat each one of these rings as if they were a member of the Backstreet Boys.
Arin: Yeah, the moment you even talk to a Backstreet Boy, you're convinced "I gotta get tickets."
Danny: You don't even want LAWN SEATS for that show!
  • After being stuck for over a half hour on stage 4 (Power Plant), Arin has had enough and switches to Team Chaotix for a respite...except that campaign's first stage is Seaside Hill like Team Sonic, making Arin believe every campaign runs through the same stages in the same order, completely missing both the objective text telling him to collect 10 sea snails and the character talking about it. He reluctantly goes back to playing as Team Sonic while yelling at the game for wasting his time. By the end of the episode, he still is stuck on Power Plant.
  • During the battle with the Egg Hawk in episode 2, the "E" from the Boss Subtitles remains onscreen during the whole fight. Dan worries that if he doesn't destroy the Egg Hawk, the E will forever be burned into his monitor. Arin tells Dan that if he's watching a movie, the E will take all the tension and drama out of a sad scene like someone's dog getting killed, because all he can think about in that scene is the Egg Hawk.
  • At the start of part 4, after Arin has finally passed Power Plant (the fourth stage), it leads into a fight with Team Rose.
Arin: I'm FIGHTING her? I don't want to fight her! She's the person I don't love!
  • Just like with the Egg Hawk fight, the Team Rose fight eventually leaves the "T" from the Boss Subtitles opaquely burned onto the screen.
  • After Arin finally figures out how to beat Team Rose:
[Team Sonic hits a victory pose]
Danny: Yay, we killed our friends!
  • As both Arin and Danny are losing their minds, Danny mishears Sonic's "Marriage? NO WAY!" as "Clarence? NO WAY!" because of the C-rank and is audibly confused, even though Danny was the one who noted Amy's marriage demand at the start of the fight.
  • After the Team Rose fight and everything that came before, Arin begins to use Damned by Faint Praise on Heroes:
    Arin: Sonic Heroes!....It's purchasable.
  • As Arin struggles for minutes on end to escape a pinball table in Casino Park, Danny cheerfully reads IGN's positive 8/10 review.
Danny: 'The worlds are ultra-entertaining, unpredictable thrill rides!'
Arin: They sure are unpredictable; I have no idea where this ball's gonna go...
Danny: 'The game is faster than its Dreamcast ancestors, and it's a lot prettier too!'
    Arin: I should hope so!
  • Arin has the good fortune to land near the top of a pinball field near the exit, deliberately lines up his shot...and due to the wonky physics, it sends him plummeting all the way down the field away from the exit.
Arin: NOOOO! WHYYYY! WHYYYY! [quietly] Oh eff this...eff this...please deliver me from Hell!
  • Arin spends two minutes trying to activate a simple airborne switch with Tails but the finicky controls prevent him from doing so, causing a screaming fit from Arin and declaring "I'm about to throw my controller"...and then lucks into pulling it when the game registers Tails grabbing it while flipping the camera 180 degrees because of an obstructed view.
  • Final act-clear time on Casino Park for Arin: 19 minutes, 35 seconds, bringing Arin's stage total after four episodes to a whopping five.
Arin: [after reaching the goal] A gift has been given to me on this day. Truly, life cannot be joy without hardship.
  • Fans in the comment sections on each part have started guessing on what stage Arin will permanently get stuck on and give up.
  • Part 5 starts with Danny torturing Arin by singing Casino Park's music after it burned into their memories after 20 minutes. Arin then makes a bukkake joke that has to be muted as it's still under the 60-second threshold of YouTube demonetization rules; afterward, they look up the origin of the word and are surprised it has a rather innocent definition of "to splash with liquid" referring to noodle dishes.
  • After whiffing a jump, Arin pauses the game mid-fall, causing Danny to ask what happened:
Arin: I'm falling to what appears to be death or pinball, and I don't know which is worse.
    • He does indeed fall onto a table, to which the game warns "be careful not to fall", which Arin mocks; at that point, no table had yet to have lethal consequences for "draining" the characters in a pinball segment. Arin carelessly lets his characters fall between the flippers, and plummets to his death.
Arin: [sighs] I wish I was dead.
  • Towards the end of Bingo Highway, the game inexplicably sends Arin plummeting away during an automated segment, but instead of death, throws him back into a platforming segment he cleared minutes earlier.
Arin: OH, I'M BACK HERE AGAIN! HOW EXCITING FOR ME AND YOU!
  • Part 11 features Arin struggling for several minutes to defeat Team Dark. Eventually when Sonic and Knuckles are taken out, Arin defeats Team Dark in less than 10 seconds by having Tails mindlessly chuck rings through the arena, causing both Arin and Dan to break out into laughter.
  • While the above still applies, the game is also notoriously buggy (especially the PS2 version which is even more so). In part 13, Arin reveals that he's been e-mailed by one of the developers that worked on the game. According to them, the game had so many bugs submitted by the testers that management told them only to submit bugs that prevented players from completing a level, meaning that every other bug, programming error and optimization mishap were left unattended to rush it out the door. Even if you encountered a bug that you could mash or glitch your way through to completing the level, it was considered "Good enough".
Arin: (quoting the email) "Finally, there was a show-stopper bug, the biggest bug, which I think kept them from shipping the game for a while. I'll never forget it because it really captures the true essence of the Sonic cycle: Throughout the game there are doors which Sonic and team are supposed to open by use of switches, but the bug was such that if you ran into the locked door at full speed, Sonic would instead clip through the door, but not into the area that was supposed to be behind it. Instead he would keep going, running forever in a black nothingness which would never end. Whenever I think about that, there's a certain level of existential dread which fills my soul. It's almost like that's what these games are now: Sonic running forever, and it can never end."
  • Dan makes a running gag out of turning Arin's angry reactions into taglines for the game.
Arin: I can't fucking do this, man! I can't fucking do this!
Dan: Soooonic Heeeeerooooes! "I can't fucking do this, man!"
  • The final stage breaks Arin so badly he snaps more than once.
Dan: Arin just threw down the controller and has his head in his hands.
    • Arin and Dan discussing maybe pausing an episode so it's not just Arin dying for half an hour leads to this incredible rant.
Arin: What's the problem with that? It's basically the same shit over and over anyway. So what the fuck is the problem, man? I'm just gonna fucking fall off the stage and go "what the fuck" and scream, and then everyone's gonna go "ha-ha", and then somebody's gonna be like "it's not really that bad" in the comments, and then that's just gonna loop over and over again for the next fucking 12 minutes! That's all it's gonna be! Why do people watch Game Grumps?! Why do people watch me do this?!? It doesn't make sense!!! STOP IT!!! STOP WATCHING!!! UNSUBSCRIBE!!!! Everybody deserves better than this! Me, you, the audience, we all deserve better!
  • The very last boss fight of the Team Sonic route against the Egg Emperor is, naturally, an exercise in frustration. The funny comes twofold near the end, first when Arin discovers that Tails is the most effective character to use during the fight, to his and Danny's shock, and then when Arin gets so fed up with Eggman's single taunt line that he starts repeating it back mockingly whenever Eggman starts.
Dan: Yo, what the fuck got into Tails!? He's a beast!
Arin: (cracking up) He's fucking wrecking his shit, dude!
Dan: All he's done this whole game is fly gently up a few feet, now suddenly he's got a wild hair up his ass, and he's murdering Eggman!
    • Arin turns Eggman's attack callouts into a Madness Mantra.
Eggman: Take this! Take this! Take this!
Arin: Take this, take this, take this, tAKE THIS, TAYKE THIUS, TAHAKE THIYUS, TAKE THIS -
Dan: (in hysterics) Get ahold of yourself! Sir, this is a Wendy's!
  • Months after finishing Team Sonic, the boys start up Team Rose's campaign on the GameCube version. Their reactions are predictable.
  • Dan questions how old the Sonic characters are, leading him to Google "how old is Sonic?" only to be given the answer 30, which briefly baffles him.
  • In Episode 15, Dan recounts a story of a time where he had to go into Arin's house when he wasn't there (Arin needed to travel somewhere but had gone to the airport and forgotten his passport at home and needed Dan to go inside and get it for him) and scared Mochi.
Dan: The one time I ever came over to your house and saw him and you weren't there, he was like "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!"
  • Arin spends a good chunk of Episode 13 going on an rant about how bad Zack Snyder's Justice League is.
  • As the playthrough continues through the later stages of Team Dark's story and into Team Chaotix's, what's left of the Grumps' collective sanity deteriorates, leading to such gems as: imagining Vector selling his body (and later his own organs and limbs) to pay his rent, Arin passionately insisting that since Play-Doh is both "delicious" and non-toxic that it's meant to be eaten (Episode 27), Arin repeatedly standing up and leaving his controller in the middle of an episode to yell profanities at an oscillating Dyson fan in his office, much to Dan's confusion (also Episode 27), and Arin spending the last six minutes of Episode 29 trying to talk about the "hellacious shit" he took during a bathroom break while Dan pleads Too Much Information and begs him to stop.
  • Episode 31: After all the teasing Danny's endured for years for falling for Arin's updog joke (and, more recently, "grabon" as well), Dan finally gets his revenge, to his great delight. Even better, Arin's quite happy for him as well for finally succeeding in getting him, and earnestly states that he totally earned that one.
Arin: (After venting about how a method he looked up isn't working) Anyway, pausing [the episode].
Dan: Wait wait wait, did you try Feel Dee?
    Arin: What is Feel Dee?
Dan: (Beat) FEEL DEEZ NUTS, DUUUDE! YEAHHH! WOOOOO! (Claps and laughs) All right, pause the episode!
Arin: (Also laughing) Hell yeah, bro! You fucking earned it, y'know?!
Dan: I love you, man. (Both continue chuckling.)
Arin: (In a fake-angry voice) But also, you son of a bitch!
  • Episode 25 of their second playthrough may be one of the greatest in Game Grumps history.
    • Dan explains how his friend used to use "smeg" as an expletive. It somehow leads to a hypothetical in which smegma is advertised as a Totally Radical product in a 90's commercial.
    • Dan talks about the characters of the musical Cats, which sound so utterly ridiculous that Arin is convinced he's being lied to.
    Arin: (laughing hysterically) "SKIMBLESHANKS?!"
Dan: You know what? I don't feel like you're taking this a hundred percent seriously and I'm a little offended.
Arin: (CRYING with laughter) I don't have air in my lungs... "Skimbleshanks" sounds like some shit you'd come up with for a Legend of Zelda name!
    • Their discussion of Generation Z humor.
Arin: It's like "kneel for the cross, stand when I pee."
  • Episode 27 has Dan admitting that he has a "sensitive Jew stomach."
Danny: You're probably not both of those at the same time!
    • The Play-Doh debate:
Arin: They still haven't made [Play-Doh] less delicious.
Dan: Okay... Arin, I think we've gotten to the bottom of your digestive problems. It's the three metric tons of Play-Doh you've eaten throughout the years!
    • Arin is adamant in his conviction that Play-Doh is edible, arguing that the manufacturer makes food-inspired playsets because they know kids will inevitably eat the stuff.
Dan: This is a weird hill to die on.
  • Episode 28 has Arin botching the names of the characters of Samurai Champloo. To rub salt in the wound, he also confuses Samurai Champloo with Bleach
Dan: I can definitely tell you that the names of the characters on that show were not Mugen, Jin and Chocolate.

    Sonic Shuffle
  • In Part 2, Amy wins a Carbuncle from the "Ring of Fire" mini-game. On her next turn, she gets a message that says, "The Carbuncle ate itself". This confuses Dan and causes Arin to crack up. Dan compares that line to something you'd say to a spy after dropping off a suitcase full of government secrets for him, like "The chocolate mousse is not in season". He then looks up what a Carbuncle is, and reads, "A Carbuncle is a cluster of boils caused by bacterial infection, most commonly with Staphylococcus". He is disgusted by this, and advises the viewers not to look it up. note
Danny: (reading the onscreen prompt) Wh— “The Carbuncle ate itself”?? What does that mean??
    Arin: (wheezing with laughter)
  • In Part 3, when the "Ring of Fire" mini-game occurs again, Arin says, "I don't want to do this." Immediately afterwards, the game's Redream emulator crashes, and since none of the progress was saved, Arin and Dan have to start the game over.
  • After the game's emulator crashes in Part 3, Arin decides there's no way he's going to play through the whole game again just to see how it ends, so he looks up a playthrough video by Braindead Entertainment. He skips ahead to the final battle with Void's monster form, but Dan would much rather play the game from the beginning because he doesn't want to see spoilers. Though they decide to start off at the first stage, Emerald Coast, rather than Nature Zone, the third one they played before, Dan insists they still set Knuckles' AI to Hard and Amy's to Easy, just like before.
  • In Part 5, Arin gets a mini event where Sonic stops Dr. Eggman as a thief who steals a bag of rings from Lumina, and collects 20 rings from recovering the bag Eggman stole.
Dan: Yes! You caught the thief!
Arin: Yeah, cause' I'm fucking Sonic, dude. I'm fast as shit.
Dan: And then I guess you threw him off a building. My god, he's dead. Claim the money that is yours!
Arin: Wait, so now I'm the thief?
Dan Yeah. Wow, you didn't return her money at all. (As Lumina) Stop! He stole my shit!
Arin: (as Sonic): I've stopped him for you! Bye!
  • In Part 6, Arin and Dan decide to watch the game's opening cutscene from Story Mode. Graphical glitches from the emulator make the characters look Off-Model. Sonic is described by Dan as "looking like Dig Dug, but with hair", Lumina has shadows over her eyes, Amy's legs can be seen over her dress, and one of Tails' tails is black. The worst offender is the glitch that makes Sonic look like he has a Glasgow Smile.

    Sonic Generations
  • In Part 2, Arin argues that pee is stored in the calves.
    • He also argues that furries are good with money because they know a lot about inflation.
  • In Part 3, Arin talks about going to a massage parlor and was given two choices "Arabian Mystery" and "Seaside Relaxation", with him choosing the Seaside themed one. For the "relaxing" music they then played loud, upbeat sea shanties, which prompts Dan to start singing The Wellerman and them talking about how un-relaxing it was.
Arin: Soon now the Wellerman come!!
Arin!Masseuse: (whispering) Is the pressure okay?
  • In Part 4:
    • To the tune of "City Escape", Dan sings "Running around at the speed of sound. Hiding the fact that I like Rouge's boobies!" and causes them to laugh uproariously.
    • As Sonic is flying by targeting and popping balloons, Arin as Sonic goes into this:
Arin!Sonic: This is for all you inflation furries out there!
      Dan: (laughing) Wha?
      Arin!Sonic: Alright!
Dan: (still laughing) Oh my god... Inflation furries?
  • In the Finale:
    • Arin laughs his ass off at how goofy the classic Dr. Eggman looks.
    • Arin and Dan then joke about misusing time-travel for silly reasons.
Arin!Eggman: I could go back in time and undo a couple questionable Livejournal entries! (Arin and Dan laugh)

    Sonic Frontiers
  • In the opening episode:
    • They are repeatedly surprised about how bleak or morose the game sounds and looks compared to other Sonic games, with the start screen being of a cloudy sky and the music being very toned down from what they're used to.
    • They are also surprised about how deep Sonic's voice sounds compared to most versions and Danny jokes that Sonic's balls dropped is why his voice is more deep. Arin says it's the same VA and later speculates that they changed Sonic's voice actor, but it is still Roger Craig Smith from all the post-2010 games voicing him.
    • They mishear the lyrics of the Sky Sanctuary theme of "I'm flowing with time" as "I'm flowing baton" or "I'm going baton" and then later have a Running Gag of Sonic doing baton related things.
    • Dan’s various triangle-related puns.
    • Dan describes Arin’s negative attitude towards Sonic games as “giving birth to a hate-baby.”
  • In Episode 4:
    • Right out the gate, Dan is having none of Arin's pedantic complaints about Sonic games, leading up to this gem:
Arin: This is the thing, about Sonic games that really bothers me-
Dan: You're not good at them?
    • After Arin says he just needs to "run up that hill", Dan and then Arin improvise some parody lyrics:
Dan!Kate: If only I could be
      Dan!Kate: A blue hedgehog
      Arin!Kate: Gotta go fast
Dan!Kate: I would eat up the dogs of chili
Arin!Kate: Be running up that wall
Arin!Kate: Be cying up that loop
  • Episode 5:
    • "SQUID"!
  • In Episode 6, Arin and Dan talk about "Gooning" and then read the Urban Dictionary definition of it while Arin laughs the whole time.
  • Episode 7:
    • After a couple of the Kocos die, Dan says that:
Dan: My favorite part of any Sonic game is when the little creatures die. And then you just have to kneel over their graves. That's the most fun. (imitates Green Hill Zone theme and Arin laughs)
Arin!Amy: They're dead, both of them...
Dan: (imitates Green Hill theme again) They're dead!
Arin: He does the two little peace signs and (Sonic voice) Hehe, alright!
    • They then make a bit where Amy is a conspiracy nut and makes Sonic uncomfortable.
    • Dan at first makes fun of "Undefeatable" when it starts up during the fight against Giganto before realizing it is very catchy.
Dan: This is music to "goon" to!
    • During the fight against Giganto, they keep making up different song lyrics to "Undefeatable", usually involving Lipitor.
    • Arin cracks up when he loses and Giganto eats Sonic.
  • In Episode 8, Arin says he has "Medals up the wazoo" and Dan suggests Arin see a proctologist and they make a bit where Arin does go to a proctologist for 35 Medal of Honors up his ass.
    • Also in the episode, Dan just breaks out into a brief parody of Supertramp's hit song "Take the Long Way Home", replacing some of the lyrics about cookies.
Dan: I mean, sometimes, sometimes I think I am a genius, and other times, I think I need to be in a hospital.
  • In Episode 12:
    • Early in the episode, Sonic starts talking about having the new Jack in the Box burger before getting interrupted by Knuckles talking about how his civilization was wiped out and he's the last remaining echidna. Sonic keeps interjecting about Jack in the Box related foods.
    • Dan says that when Sage says that Sonic and Knuckles are doomed, it gave him chills, but also calls it dumb. They then make a bit where Sonic is being irreverent and talking about peeing everywhere, while she talks about their doom.
    • When fighting Wyvern, they start improvising lyrics to "Break Through It All", this time first singing about "Old MacDonald", then to how Lucky Charms makes your poop weird colors.
  • In Episode 13:
    • Arin talks about wanting to read more and is using his Kindle to read, but says "my Kindle" more like "MacKindle", which causes Dan to ask if that's a Scottish friend. That in turn prompts them to do a bit with bad Scottish accents asking about where they were at in the book.
    • Arin talks about how one of their friends got to see the Aurora Borealis from their side of the plane and joke that the pilot says that his side of the plane got a "Home Depot parking lot" while the other side got the Auroras and then escalating it so that one side has port-a-potties, while the other side has the "meaning of life".
  • In Episode 15:
    • After they kill a "Spider" mini-boss, they make a lengthy bit about the Spider's wife and children mourning his death, but Sonic being his usual irreverent self, singing pop songs.
    • They are both taken aback by Tails asking Sonic if he was a burden to him, before having Sonic say:
      Arin!Sonic: Yeah.
Dan!Sonic: Like, why are you asking me now? It's far too late.
    • When Sage reminisces about her interactions with Eggman, Dan snarks constantly about "all the great times they had together", while Arin laughs his ass off at her theme.
Dan: The montage of them as a family is from the last three episodes!
  • In Episode 16:
    • They spend the first eleven minutes talking about squirting and Arin points out that there's not many women he can ask about them squirting.
Arin: There's not many women in my life that I'm gonna be like "Excuse me, I have a question for you: Could you tell me about your ejaculate? I'm very curious."
Dan: You know what? Now that you phrase it like that, that is an impossible question to breach!
Arin: "Mom?" (Dan and Arin laugh)
  • Episode 17 has Arin trying to remember "Adventure Of a Lifetime" by Coldplay.
  • In Episode 19, after Arin talks about bouldering, Dan makes a bit where when he boulders, he looks down and then wets himself in fear, then clasps his mouth with both hands in embarrassment and falls to his death while pissing himself.
Dan: It's kind of my move. It's kind of my thing. I'm an athlete, I try not to brag about it too much.
    • He then makes it into a bit that he pisses himself whenever he's around athletic equipment.
  • In the Finale:
    • Dan makes a comment about how he has little shame, they then say:
Arin!Dan: You know what? I am dope sick nasty!
Dan: It's just like my granddad used to say: "This kid is dope as shit!" (Arin laughs) Thanks, pop-pop!
    • Sonic saying that he'll take the small chance at turning Sage's despair into hope immediately reminds them of Danganronpa, which led to this exchange:
      Dan!Sage: Nobody likes that game.
Dan: Oh, I beg to differ, Sage.
      Dan!Sage: Wait, really?
Arin: Yeah. Our number one most watched playlist says otherwisenote .
    • They crack up at an extended distant shot of Super Sonic flying in space.
Arin!Sonic: (slowed down) Now I'll show you!
    • As Super Sonic makes a beeline towards Amy, Tails and Knuckles, Arin yells:
Arin!Sonic: GET OUT OF THE WAY!!! (Arin and Dan lose it)
    • Dan lampshades the Bittersweet Ending:
Dan: Oh my god, that's such a sad ending! There was like no resolution whatsoever! Like:
      Dan!Sonic: We're okay!
      Dan!Eggman: She's dead...
      Dan: The end.
    • Arin cracks up over Sage's theme again, now with the added context of Sage sacrificing herself to save the world and Eggman from The End.
    • Arin beats the game again, but on the Hard difficulty because Boruff tells them there's a different ending. It's the same ending.
      • Keen viewers would note that their mic caught Boruff saying, "God dammit," before the reveal.

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog
  • In the opening episode:
    • Since the game is done in the style of a Visual Novel, the main character gets Arin's patented "Generic Anime Protagonist" voice.
    • Arin tries to name the Player Character "Penismachine", but the game has a cursing filter and doesn't allow it. Dan suggest "Glaerph" and Arin, after wondering what species they werenote , calls them "glaerf the cat?" with the question mark. Dan starts reading the name with the inflection of a question every time it comes up.
    • When Rouge shows up, Dan fails to read her name or notice her looks and gives her a masculine voice. He changes it to a more feminine one when he does notice.
    • Dan puts on a bad Spanish accent when voicing Espio. Arin calls it a "bad French accent" and Dan clarifies that it's Spanish.
Dan!Espio: I study ninjutsu. Like all French-speaking Spanish people. I believe one can communicate through the subconscious.
      Arin!Espio: Oui oui, sí sí.
  • In Episode 2:
    • When glaerf thinks back on the conductor telling him to take care of the customers, Dan starts repeating the end of some words, with Arin following suit.
    • They make a bit where Tails has brain damage and is only imagining Sonic.
    • Arin compares the game to a Danganronpa game, since both are murder mystery games with minigames during the interrogations and trials.
    • Arin suggests that Sonic choked to death by accident, but nobody could tell when he started turning blue.
  • In Episode 3:
    • They do a Call-Back to their Frontiers playthrough by having Knuckles say he was "Going baton".
    • Because Shadow's outfit looks a bit like a barista's, they start a Running Gag of him asking if they want anything extra with their coffees.
Dan: Bro, I love "Shadow the Barista"! It's so funny!note
    • After Amy says, "This tip is too juicy to ignore!" Dan says, "Don't take that out of context." When Vector says he's, "licensed to handle raw meat", Dan says that they meant to do that joke.
    • Dan does another call back when he says "alibis" in the Japanese way of "aleebees".
  • In Episode 4:
  • In Episode 5:
    • They joke that after Rouge's plan goes off without a hitch that there was the minor hitch of the guard having to be executed.
Arin!Tails: I would put that firmly in the "hitch" category!
    • Since Rouge has a bared midriff, but no navel showing, Dan wonders if bats have navels, with nobody in the room knowing. Dan jokes about adding "do bats have navels?" to his search history, and it turns out that yes, they do have them. They joke that a navel would have been too sexy for the game.
    • They have glaerf the cat? offer to "take one for the team" when the egg starts ticking and joke about Blaze saying "I'll always remember you. As the 'microwave guy'." With glaerf being disappointed. A little later, Blaze calls them "microwave kid" when shooting down their plan.
  • In Episode 6:
    • Since Amy, Tails, and glaerf the cat? are interrogating Shadow, there's more "Shadow the barista" jokes.
Dan!Shadow: I just want to know what size: venti or grande?
    • When the back of the wardrobe opens, they joke that it leads to Narnia, but in reality, it actually just leads them outside the train to their deaths.
  • Episode 7:
    • The rest of the Sonic's friends finally realize that Sonic actually got hurt during Amy's murder mystery birthday party, with them vowing to bring Sonic's "murderer" to justice. And the Grumps, having glossed over all the hints and clues the game had dropped, struggled to pick who the "murderer" is, guessing literally everyone, including Amy and Tails, who are specifically stated to not be able to be the culprit before guessing the correct culprit. They also take until the last possible guess to guess the second choice as well.
  • In Episode 8 they have a Running Gag of Sonic having stomach issues and making frequent trips to the restroom. So, yes, this is the third time they really crack themselves up over Sonic shitting.
  • In the Finale:
    • After Sonic gets a cake for Amy, they lampshade that the bakers must have been incredibly fast at making the cake, as Sonic was gone for only a few seconds.
    • After Amy asks that none of her friends ever leave, Arin and Dan joke that Sonic hides his divorce papers.
    • After Shadow says he hopes the cake is chocolate, we get this gem:
      Arin!Sonic: It's not!
      Dan!Shadow: Fuck!
    • They joke that glaerf the cat? is telling this story to his therapist.
