    Josefumi Kujo

Josefumi Kujo

Stand: Soft & Wet

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4_ball_man.png

The Ninth JoJo, Josefumi Kujo was originally an alternate version of Josuke Higashikata. In this universe, he is the only son of Jotaro Kujo and Fluttershy and younger brother of Jolyne, as well as Hope's Peak Academy's Former Ultimate Surgeon.

His Stand, Soft & Wet, is named after a song by Prince. It produces "soap bubbles" which can steal anything from whatever they come into contact with.

  • Adaptational Wimp: Although Soft & Wet's bubbles work like the version used by Part 8!Josuke, it doesn't have the explosive ability taken from Part 8!Killer Queen or access to Go Beyond.
  • The Anti-Nihilist: He explains to Junko that he knows his family line has been through hell for multiple generations since its founding, and that everyone is going to die eventually. He also knows that humans by nature are cynical, pessimistic, and apathetic. However, he still chose to become a surgeon because humans are also hard-wired to desire life over death, and humans' natural cynicism turned out to be important to their survival. In his eyes, all the bad things that happen makes any happiness people get all the more memorable.
  • Combat Medic: He's arguably the world's greatest medical expert, and is an exceptional fighter befitting the Joestar clan.
  • Crossover Relatives: This version of Josefumi is a son of Fluttershy through Jotaro Kujo from Stardust Crusaders, which actually makes him Jolyne's younger brother.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Discussed. He tells Junko that he knows how bad life can get, how everyone dies eventually, and how humans are naturally pessimistic and cynical, but he doesn't let that become an excuse to become evil. He chose to become a surgeon because he still wanted to help people live.
Josefumi Kujo: My family's been through hell and back and become stronger for it. I've never believed anything really matters in the end, but that's no excuse to turn homicidal or self-destructive. Everyone's gonna die eventually, but that's no reason to speed up the process. That's why I became a surgeon. Because humans are naturally hard-wired to desire life over death, so why not embrace that nature? Our attitude is cynical, pessimistic, and apathetic... Which is fine. We wouldn't have survived so long if that weren't the case. But for my money, that just makes any amount of happiness we do get all the more memorable.
  • Genius Bruiser: Much like his father, Josefumi uses his intelligence alongside his strength to defeat his opponents.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: The ability to steal anything using special bubbles has far more applications than one might expect. At one point he forces Eliza, a being made almost entirely of blood, to retreat by using his Stand to steal her blood's von Willebrand factor, preventing the coagulation needed to maintain a human shape. Another time he renders a gun useless by removing the oxygen around it to prevent the gunpowder from exploding.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: His name is actually a variation of his great-grandfather, Joseph Joestar.
  • Official Couple: He and Yasuho have been dating since their own Hope's Peak Academy days.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Canon Josefumi "died" by fusing with canon JoJolion's version of Yoshikage Kira, creating Josuke Higashikata while making him a Posthumous Character. Here, this never happened due to changed circumstances and choices, allowing him to live as his own person.

    Yasuho Hirose

Yasuho Hirose

Stand: Paisley Park

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yasuho_hirose.png

The Former Ultimate Nurse and Koichi's cousin.

Her Stand, Paisley Park, is named after a song by Prince. In Josefumi's words, it is a Stand of guidance, capable of shifting its form and controlling electronic devices to help Yasuho and those important to her find whatever they need.

  • Crossover Relatives: Downplayed; while they were of the same series, she is related to Koichi Hirose via being his cousin in this setting.
  • Mentor Archetype: Quickly becomes one for Mikan, the current Ultimate Nurse.
  • Mission Control: Because Paisley Park can track down anything, Yasuho becomes this trope during the first arc.
  • Official Couple: She and Josefumi have been dating since their own Hope's Peak Academy days.
  • Same Surname Means Related: Her surname being Hirose like Koichi's serves as the basis of them being cousins here.
  • Sensor Character: Paisley Park is capable of looking up anything, from information on certain objects to the location of injuries or abnormalities in a human body.

    Joshu Higashikata

Joshu Higashikata

Stand: Nut King Call

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sans_titre_1.png

The Former Ultimate Showman and Josuke's cousin. He's the current ringmaster of the Noah's Ark Circus.

His Stand, Nut King Call, is named after jazz singer Nat King Cole. It can materialize nuts and bolts onto objects. If the nut and bolt get separated, the affected object falls apart as if it was always held together by the nuts and bolts. The bolts can also be used to either restore an object, or put two different objects together.

    Chisa Yukizome

Chisa Yukizome

Stand: All Star

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yukizome_despair.png

The Former Ultimate Housekeeper and the teacher of Class 77-B.

Her Stand, All Star, is named after a song by Smash Mouth. It has the ability to adapt to any situation within a matter of seconds, as well as being capable of manifesting any item Chisa needs as long as it is both a real world object and something that already exists. Along with this, Chisa's mood can affect the Stand's usefulness, like increased durability when Chisa is cheerful, increased power from anger, etc.

  • Adaptational Heroism: She stays the same loving teacher without falling into Despair, which honestly never becomes a factor despite this being a Danganronpa story.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Don't underestimate her just because she stays a cheerful hero in this story. All Star is a very potent Stand and Chisa does not mess around if her students are in peril.
  • Everyone Can See It: She and Kyosuke try to be coy about their relationship, but their friends have all figured it out rather easily.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: When Chisa is enjoying some of Teruteru's nikujaga (which was enchanted by his Stand) she's exclaiming how she can see all the ingredients cooking... Along with Hiyoko dumping a soup laced with aphrodisiacs into the cooking pot.
  • Gondor Calls for Aid: Subverted. After the murder of Natsumi, Chisa starts to feel overwhelmed and tries calling Josefumi for help. Unfortunately, at the time she called he was starting a major surgical operation that would take several days. And after he finishes, he gets swamped by family obligations. As such, he isn't able to arrive until after the situation has been resolved.
  • Hammerspace: All Star can conjure items from seemingly nowhere at Chisa's command.
  • Official Couple: She and Kyosuke are very much a couple.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: She never winds up killing herself from despair, since there are no Killing Games in this story.
  • Straw Feminist: Defied. She sees nothing wrong with being a strong woman that just happens to enjoy doing traditionally feminine activities such as cleaning and housekeeping.

    Juzo Sakakura

Juzo Sakakura

Stand: Back To Rise

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sakakura_future.png

The Former Ultimate Boxer and a security guard for Hope's Peak Academy.

His Stand, Back to Rise, is named after the song "I'm Back (To Rise)" by Mick Gordon and Omega Sparx. Taking the form of rocket-powered gauntlets, Back to Rise increases the speed and punching power of Juzo's boxing skills.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: It may be just because Hajime is now a Main Course student at Hope's Peak, but Juzo is much more cordial with him here.
  • Expy: His Stand is meant to be one to the Rexcelsior. On both hands!
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Subverted. He did step aside from Kyosuke's relationship with Chisa, but it's made clear he hasn't yet gotten over it.
  • Meaningful Name: I'm Back (To Rise) is the most well-known Image Song of Killer Instinct regular T.J. Combo, who also happens to be a professional boxer.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon he barely survived the Final Killing Game in spite of triggering his NG Code (directly punching another participant) by cutting off his hand above the wrist, only to die shortly afterward due to bleedout. Here he never has to go through all that, surviving well past the end of the story.
  • Straight Gay: Still confirmed to be this, having had a crush on Munakata and also having good chemistry with Mamezuku.

    Kyosuke Munakata

Kyosuke Munakata

Stand: Shiroyama

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/munakata_future.png

The Former Ultimate Student Council President.

His Stand, Shiroyama, is named after a song by Sabaton. Infused into Kyosuke's prized katana, it grants him exceptional blade skills equal to the samurai of old. Along with this, if he manually activates his Stand, he can turn one sword swipe into dozens of attacks, capable of being used for both offense and defense.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: He's less antagonistic to those around him. Justified, since his girlfriend never falls to Despair in this story.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: He always wears professional attire, and is not afraid to get a little blood on it if necessary.
  • Blade Spam: Subverted. He only swings his sword once, but then his Stand kicks in and turns that one swing into multiple slashes.
  • Official Couple: He and Chisa have been dating for some time. They tried to keep it secret, but their school friends quickly figured it out.
  • Samurai: He comes off as this during combat, in a cliched sort of way.

    Trixie Lulamoon

Trixie Lulamoon

Stand: Tricks Up My Sleeve

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trixie_8.png

Joshu's girlfriend and the Former Ultimate Magician.

Her Stand, Tricks Up My Sleeve, is named after a song by Kathleen Barr. Befitting a magician such as Trixie, this Stand gives her control over spatial perception, essentially giving her illusions the perception of real magic. This can range from things like using a steel wire mesh to turn her cape into a shield or spear, or making things appear from or disappear into her hat.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Unlike her pony counterpart, she's never an antagonist of any kind.
  • Adaptational Species Change: The story's requisite MLP crossover character, going from unicorn to human Stand user.
  • Doppleganger Attack: She has several stagehands disguised as her and self-hypnotized to act as her, letting her "duplicate" herself if someone tries to cut her into pieces.
  • Irony: She's probably got more real power than her MLP counterpart, yet never once does she refer to herself as "The Great and Powerful Trixie". Then again, she probably saves that for the stage.
  • Official Couple: She and Joshu are a couple, having been together since before their days at Hope's Peak.
  • Stage Magician: Natch. Heck, her Stand lets her do this anywhere.

    Rai Mamezuku

Rai Mamezuku

Stand: Doggy Style

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rai_infobox.jpg

The Former Ultimate Businessman and a friend of Josefumi and Joshu.

His Stand, Doggy Style, is named after an album by Snoop Dogg. It lets him peel himself into prehensile bandage-like string, allowing for many practical uses such as using his own arm as a bow to launch projectiles.

  • Adaptational Heroism: He was a Nominal Hero in canon, while here he's a more traditional hero.
  • Body Horror: His Stand lets him disassemble his own body and reshape it into whatever he might need.
  • Expy: Since he's bankrolling the Noah's Ark Circus under Joshu's leadership, the two are kinda like P.T. Barnum and his most notable business partner James Bailey.
  • Ship Tease: He has a crush on Juzo, and is hoping he'll eventually get over Kyosuke.
  • Straight Gay: He's a confirmed homosexual and has a crush on Juzo, yet he never acts in a stereotypically flamboyant manner.

    Seiko Kimura

Seiko Kimura

Stand: Sister Morphine

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kimura_future.png

A student of Class 76 and the Ultimate Pharmacist.

Her Stand, Sister Morphine, is named after a song by The Rolling Stones. With this Stand, Seiko can inject herself and others with a variety of chemicals, either enhancing or harming someone based on the dosage, and on top of this, the syringes can make for some effective claws in battle.

  • Awesome Backpack: The chemicals her Stand uses come from a special backpack strapped to her body.
  • Creepy Good: Her appearance is unsettling to say the least and her Stand's talons just up the creep factor, yet she's actually one of the sweeter characters in the story.
  • Combat Medic: More based in actual medicine, but Seiko is capable of making any sort of medicine, either on her own or with the help of her Stand.
  • Cool Mask: Her Stand's physical form includes a gas mask over her normal face mask. It doesn't really do anything since her Stand is chemical and injection based, but it does add to the aesthetic.
  • Double Take: When Nagito first comes to meet her, she's shocked because she thought he already had come to see her. In reality, she had met with Oingo using his Stand to disguise himself as Nagito.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon, Kurami died when her NG Code was triggered by someone stepping in her shadow, causing her to get injected with deadly poison. But in this story, there are no Killing Games, so she continues to live.
  • Support Party Member: Seiko can create any sort of chemical medicine from the claws her Stand takes the form of. This allows her to enhance herself and her allies as well as harm her enemies.
  • Wolverine Claws: Her Stand gives her special gauntlets with razor-sharp talons, perfect for injecting various chemicals into a target.

    Ruruka Ando

Ruruka Ando

Stand: Candy Shop

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ando_future.png

A student of Class 76 and the Ultimate Confectioner.

Her Stand, Candy Shop, is named after a song by 50 Cent. It creates a mist of sugar mixed with any other ingredients for confectioneries capable of producing a wide variety of effects.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Apparently she had talked things out with Seiko under Hajime's supervision, so they returned to being friends.
  • Berserk Button: Anyone messing with her sweets, even indirectly. She also finds one in people trying to ruin the true bastion of hope Hope's Peak Academy had become.
  • Food-Based Superpowers: Her Stand allows her to create a sugar mist mixed with other confectionary-based ingredients to produce all sorts of crazy effects.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She flips out when she learns that she nearly gave the proctors for the practical exam a laxative by accident.
  • Official Couple: With Izayoi, who also gleefully downs her sweets.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon she fell victim to despair and committed suicide as a result, despite trying to use her own brainwashing sweets to prevent it. Here the video she was shown doesn't even exist, so she doesn't die.

    Sonosuke Izayoi

Sonosuke Izayoi

Stand: Iron Head

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/izayoi_future.png

A student of Class 76 and the Ultimate Blacksmith.

His Stand, Iron Head, is named after a song by Rob Zombie and Ozzy Osbourne. Taking the appearance of an infinite mass of molten metal, Sonosuke can draw from and shape it into whatever tools he needs at any given point in time.

  • The Blacksmith: Not only is it his Ultimate talent, but it's also the primary function of his Stand, which allows him to shape the infinite mass of metal his Stand takes the form of to create any tool he needs.
  • Matter Replicator: His Stand can allow him to instantly create any metal object he wants.
  • Official Couple: His girlfriend is Ruruka, whom he finds as sweet as her confections.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon Sonosuke died by willingly eating some of Ruruka's sweets, which triggered his NG Code and killed him by poison. But in this story the Killing Games and Tragedy don't exist, so he stays among the living.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Just like in canon, his favorite treat is Ruruka's sweets.

    Daisaku Bandai

Daisaku Bandai

Stand: Coming in Hot

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daisaku_bandai.png

The Former Ultimate Farmer and graduate of Hope's Peak Academy's 66th Class.

His Stand, Coming in Hot, is named after the song "Coming' in Hot" by Hollywood Undead. It is an aura that allows Daisaku the ability to manipulate the ambient temperature in a wide area.

  • Ice-Cream Koan: He spouts out random sayings that seem to make no sense. He even admits they have no actual meaning.
  • Martial Pacifist: He prefers not to fight, but is willing to help stop Sato's plans however he can.
  • Required Secondary Powers: He can control the temperature around him to such a degree that he can even control who isn't affected by it, including himself.
  • Vocal Dissonance: He's a big guy, but his voice sounds like that of a young girl.

    The Great Gozu

The Great Gozu

Stand: Immortals

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/great_gozu.png

The Former Ultimate Wrestler and graduate of Hope's Peak's 68th Class.

His Stand, Immortals, is named after a song by Fall Out Boy. Appearing as a minotaur, it possesses full knowledge of wrestling and can act as a tag-team partner for Gozu.

  • Adaptational Skimpiness: During the confrontation against Riliane he only wears his wrestling outfit, which exposes his ripped body.
  • Animal Motifs: Bulls as per canon. Even his Stand takes the form of a minotaur.
  • Boring, but Practical: All his Stand really does is act as the perfect tag-team partner for wrestling. But that simplicity makes it very effective even agasint crowd fights.
  • Fights Like a Normal: In the ring he never uses his Stand, since it would dishonor wrestling tradition. Even outside the ring his Stand simply acts as a tag-team partner, without giving him any additional combat skills.

    Hiroko Hagakure

Hiroko Hagakure

Stand: The Second Son

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hiroko_hagakure.png

Yasuhiro's mother. She's the Former Ultimate Stencil Artist and graduate of Hope's Peak's 55th class.

Her Stand, The Second Son, is named after a song by JT Music. With it, Hiroko can manipulate the four factors that are common to the urban jungle, granting her pyrokinetic abilities as well as being able to phase through solid objects as pure ash (smoke), precision laser strikes and the ability to move at superhuman speeds (neon), turn herself invisible to even computer scanners and create hard-light constructs (video), as well as minor terrakinetic control over concrete.

  • Adaptational Badass: Not only is she an alumni of Hope's Peak (something that wasn't confirmed in canon), but she has a powerful Stand of her own.
  • Adaptational Origin Connection: In this story she was a classmate of Taichi's and even had a crush on him. The most she knew of him in canon was the "Demon Hunting" game.
  • Expy: She's got a similar powerset to Delsin Rowe. Then again, her Stand is named after a rap tribute to that video game.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: One of her powers is control over concrete.
  • Hard Light: She can control digital energy, or "video", to turn invisible or create constructs.
  • Light 'em Up: Using neon energy she can fire laser blasts or run at superhuman speeds.
  • Playing with Fire: Her smoke manipulation gives her pyrokinetic abilities.
  • Ship Tease: She apparently dated Taichi during their time at Hope's Peak, but at some point they split off and married different people. That said, she shows interest in restarting that relationship.

    Taichi Fujisaki

Taichi Fujisaki

Stand: Pentiums

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taichi_fujisaki.png

Chihiro's father. He's the Former Ultimate Programmer and graduate of Hope's Peak's 55th class.

His Stand, Pentiums, is named after the song "It's All About the Pentiums" by "Weird Al" Yankovic. This Stand allows him to use digital code and turn it into hard light constructs.

  • Adaptational Badass: Not only was he Chihiro's predecessor as the Ultimate Programmer at Hope's Peak, but he has a Stand of his own.
  • Adaptational Origin Connection: In canon he never even met Hiroko, but in this story the two were classmates.
  • Boring, but Practical: As awesome as creating constructs from digital energy sounds, Taichi can really only make simple tools. But they're always practical, and can always get the job done.
  • Ship Tease: He doesn't shrug off Hiroko's flirting, and they did apparently date at one point during their high school years.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: He doesn't wind up mauled by a Monokuma robot this time around.

    Miaya Gekkogahara

Miaya Gekkogahara

Stand: Stronger

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gekkogahara.png

The Former Ultimate Therapist and graduate of Hope's Peak's 76th class.

Her Stand, Stronger, is named after a song by Kanye West. It takes the form of a cybernetic hoverchair. Whenever Miaya takes a seat in it, she gets transported into a digital form that allows her access to any system. While she's in this state, her physical form is replaced with a mechanical doll duplicate of herself.

  • Adaptational Origin Connection: It's not known if she even had the chance to graduate Hope's Peak academy before the Tragedy hit. Here she's a classmate of Seiko, Ruruka, and Sonosuke.
  • Body Uploading: When her Stand activates, Miaya turns into a digital avatar that is fully conscious but can't interact with the physical world, only cyberspace.
  • Mythology Gag: Her Stand's physical form is that of her wheelchair from canon. It even comes with a robotic version of her sitting in it.
  • Robot Girl: When Stronger turns Miaya into data, a robotic duplicate of her sits in the chair and helps her interact with reality.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon she was actually killed prior to the Final Killing Game. Here we see the real deal throughout the whole story.

Willamette Survivors

    Frank West

Frank West

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/frank_west.png

A photojournalist working for the Speedwagon Foundation. He's covered wars, y'know!

  • Abled in the Adaptation: He never gets hit by the zombie virus. And yes, there still is one.
  • Demoted to Extra: Unlike canon, he's not front and center in the Willamette Incident.
  • Lampshade Hanging: When he first says his Character Catchphrase, Chiaki notes how it sounds like a perfect video game line.
  • Seen It All: Working for Speedwagon, Frank has already covered more than wars. He's covered vampire attacks, villainous Stand users, and all kinds of supernatural tomfoolery. By this point a sudden zombie outbreak is barely a feather in his cap.

    Carlito Keyes

Carlito Keyes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carlito_6.jpg

A survivor from a zombie outbreak incident in Santa Cabeza.

  • Adaptation Origin Connection: He learns that the ones who caused the outbreak in Santa Cabeza were researchers working for DIO. The rest of the company was completely innocent and tried to run damage control, giving him a different perception of America.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Unlike canon, he's not responsible for the outbreak in Willamette. If anything, he's trying to stop it.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Subverted. He does show concern for Isabella's safety, but he also knows she's capable of handling herself.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Inverted. He was made aware of the importance of Willamette, an otherwise average city that holds a big secret.

    Brad Garrison

Brad Garrison

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brad_garrison.png

A Speedwagon operative heading up the operation in Willamette.

  • Adaptational Origin Connection: In Dead Rising he was a member of Homeland Security. Here he works for the Speedwagon Foundation.
  • Badass Normal: He proves more than capable of dealing with zombies and slashers alike during the Willamette incident.
  • Genre Savvy: He makes sure Ghost Face is dead by Double Tap, noting that he's seen enough horror movies to know such an act is necessary.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon he falls victim to the horde of zombies. Luckily, he's got more powerful backup this time around.

    Jessica McCarney

Jessica McCarney

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jessie11.jpg

A rookie in Speedwagon who was partnered with Brad.

  • Adaptational Origin Connection: In canon she's part of Homeland Security. Here she's an agent of the Speedwagon Foundation.
  • Lampshade Hanging: She points out how Trixie's last name, Lulamoon, is a bit bizarre, though Trixie does clarify that it's actually a stage name she adopted.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Just like in the game, Frank taking a sexy shot of her is more than enough to impress rival photojournalist Kent Swanson.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Her canonical fate is to wind up zombified by the infection. Here Barnaby is successfully cured before he can turn, setting up a domino chain that results in Jessie's survival.

    Otis Washington

Otis Washington

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dead_rising_otis.png

Willamette Mall's elderly janitor.

  • Anti Poop-Socking: He recommends the group take shifts since there's so many of them, ensuring that everyone will at least get some much-needed sleep.
  • Cool Old Guy: He seems to get along well with the teenaged Stand users helping to round up survivors in Willamette.
  • Mission Control: He makes use of the security room's monitors to help find people still trapped in the mall.
  • Non-Action Guy: He's a bit too old to be out in the mall, so instead he helps around the security room tending to the survivors and helping find more of them.

    Dr. Russel Barnaby

Dr. Russel Barnaby

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dead_rising_barnaby.png

A scientist who had been trying to create a method of mass producing cattle. Instead, a dangerous byproduct was unleashed.

  • Absurd Phobia: He seems to have an issue with being photographed or videotaped, likely tying into his paranoia. He has no issue with being audio recorded, however, as it's easier to remain anonymous that way.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Here he wasn't responsible for the Santa Cabeza incident. In fact, the parasitic zombie virus was actually created by another source (still Phenotrans, but Barnaby isn't part of that company in this story).
  • Properly Paranoid: While he does trust the Speedwagon Foundation and Hope's Peak students, he does know someone's out to get him, and so won't leave his current safe zone until a secure transport can be guaranteed.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Josefumi's surgical skills prevents Barnaby's canon fate of getting zombified.

    Isabella Keyes

Isabella Keyes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/isabela_portrait.png

Carlito's younger sister and another survivor of Santa Cabeza.

  • Action Girl: She at one point tried to take on Rome Eron herself. Not out of the question since his Stand can't really protect him, which is what puts her in this trope.
  • Action Survivor: She's done well keeping herself alive in spite of both zombies and slashers in the Willamette mall. It wasn't until well into the second day that she caught some bad luck and needed help.
  • Adaptational Heroism: She turned Anti-Villain in Dead Rising 3, starting the outbreak in Los Perdidos in order to set things up for spreading the cure to the zombie virus. Here that never becomes necessary.

Sin Stand Users

    Sateriasis Venomania

Sateriasis Venomania

Stand: Rebel Yell

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sateriasis_4130.jpg

A duke from the 11th Century, and the Sin Stand User of Lust.

His Stand, Rebel Yell, is named after a song by Billy Idol. At its full power, it allows Sateriasis the ability to compel anyone he wants into aiding him, outside of Stand users, resulting in a community that acts and functions like a pseudo-hive mind. Along with this, Rebel Yell also grants him the ability to change his form into whatever he desires.

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: His "deformity" in this universe is simply a bit of scarring on his face caused by scraping against his mother's pelvis as he was pushed out of the womb.
  • Adaptational Origin Connection: His backstory is largely changed from his canon story, such as not having a half-brother or "Sateriasis" being his real name rather than one he took on.
  • Back from the Dead: Like the rest of the Sin Stand users, Sateriasis was resurrected by Sato as part of her scheme.
  • Harem Seeker: In his madness, he used his Stand to hypnotize an entire harem of women to love him.
  • Logical Weakness: Normally only Stand users can shake off Rebel Yell's power, but in its weakened state any man, Stand user or not, is immune. This combined with Sateriasis' lust leaves him open when Karchess Crim sneaks into his home dressed as a woman, armed with a poisoned blade.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: His Stand is held back by extreme lust, but once he's able to focus on his beloved Gumina, and thus balance his lust with chastity, he unlocks his Stand's full potential.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifter: His Stand is supposed to allow him to do this, but in its weakened state all it can do is repair his facial scars.

    Banica Conchita

Banica Conchita

Stand: Hungry For Another One

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/banica_9057.jpg

A young duchess from the 13th Century, and the Sin Stand user of Gluttony.

Her Stand, Hungry For Another One, is named after a song by JT Music. At its full potential, it grants Banica superhuman strength in her jaw area, as well as increasing her metabolism and letting her eat anything without any side effects. She can also control the level of her appetite, so long as she can balance gluttony and temperance.

  • Adaptational Origin Connection: Several bits of her backstory are changed, among which is that the fictional Gula disease that caused her rampant hunger is replaced by Prader Willi Syndrome (a genetic defect that prevents the hypothalamus of the brain from receiving signals from the stomach that it's full and the body can stop eating).
  • An Arm and a Leg: Rather than her whole body, her death in this story comes from her cutting her legs and one arm off to eat. She only leaves one arm intact so she has something to cut with and hold her "food".
  • Back from the Dead: She's resurrected by Sato in order to have slaves to aid in her goal.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: In canon she somehow consumes her entire body in her endless hunger. In this story she merely cuts off three of her limbs to eat, and in her weakened state is killed by a local soldier to end her suffering.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Even in her rampant hunger, she refused to eat her only child, instead turning to her own body to sate her hunger.
  • Everyone Has Standards: It turns out there are some things not even Banica can stomach. When she shows up in Cruel Angel's Thesis and devours the heavily mutated kraken, she's disgusted by it and calls it the worst calamari she's ever had.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Her Stand lets her eat literally anything without consequence.
  • Logical Weakness: She can safely ingest any poison without dying, but being injected with poison is another story since doing so bypasses her digestive system.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Once she discovered that her hunger made her eat both her servants and her lover, she realized she was going too far.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Her Stand actually lets her shut off her hunger, at least once she learns to fully awaken it.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Hers is gluttony, which hampers the true benefits her Stand could give her. Once she starts to learn temperance, her Stand's true power starts to awaken.

    Riliane Lucifen d'Autriche

Riliane Lucifen d'Autriche

Stand: Viva La Vida

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/riliane_3474.jpg

A young princess from the late 14th Centure, and the Sin Stand user of Pride.

Her Stand, Viva La Vida, is named after a song by Cold Play. Once fully awakened, it allows her the ability to enhance and revive those who are loyal to her.

  • Back from the Dead: She's resurrected by Sato in order to carry out her scheme. She herself can use her Stand to affect this on anyone with absolute loyalty to her.
  • Death by Adaptation: In canon she's the only main character who didn't die from her sin (in fact, she learned to overcome it). Here she was distraught when her brother was executed in her place and offered her life to her fiancee as penance for destroying the country of a girl he fancied.
  • Redemption Equals Death: Her ex-fiancee saw how truly remorseful she was in her final moments, and offered her forgiveness before ending her life. Subverted in that she's resurrected centuries later, now able to truly atone for her past.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Pride as per usual. But the funny thing is she was close to achieving the humility needed to fully unlock her Stand's true potential, only to backpedal when forced into servitude by Sato. Luckily, the heroes are able to put her back on the right path, letting her awaken her Stand's true power.
  • The Wrongful Heir to the Throne: She was never a right fit for the throne due to her spoiled nature and not having any expectation of ruling the nation (her brother was supposed to be ruler instead). Justified in that it wasn't her choice, she was forced onto the throne by villainous ministers hoping to use her as a puppet ruler.

    Margarita Blankenheim

Margarita Blankenheim

Stand: Never Wake Again

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/margyavatar_2521.png

A marchioness from the late 15th century, and the Sin Stand user of Sloth.

Her Stand, Never Wake Again, is named after a song by JT Music. It allows Margarita the ability to temporarily force people in a certain radius around her to sleep and then draw energy from the nightmares of those affected and create subservient monster constructs out of them, but only once she finds balance between sloth and diligence.

  • Adaptational Origin Connection: One of the biggest in the story, since the Margarita we're following is the actual Margarita, rather than the spirit of Eve Moonlit possessing a doll.
  • Back from the Dead: Like the rest of the Sin Stand users, Sato resurrected her in order to accomplish her goals.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Since this is the real Margarita, she didn't die shortly after her birth. Instead she's killed when an officer accidentally breaks her neck trying to apprehend her for her crimes.
  • Genre Savvy: When Kirumi offers her and the other Sin Stand users a wish to bring back someone from their past, she immediately dismisses the idea of bringing back her husband, having realized their marriage was never a happy one and she'd only slip back into old habits if he was around.
  • Mook Maker: When her Stand is at full power, she can drain the nightmares of those under her sleep spell and create powerful monsters from them.
  • Obliviously Evil: Unlike canon, she didn't want to send everyone into an eternal sleep. So when that's pretty much what she did using her Stand, she was confused and kept wondering when everyone would wake up again.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Sloth as per canon, specifically laziness. But when Margarita is forced to actually show diligence, she's able to unleash the full power of her Stand.

    Kayo Sudo

Kayo Sudo

Stand: Tailor Swift

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_img1.jpg

A Japanese tailor from the early 18th Century, and the Sin Stand user of Envy.

Her Stand, Tailor Swift, is named after the American singer Taylor Swift. Through balancing her envy with kindness, Kayo is able to copy the powers of those that she can see, as well as mend and combine them in any way she sees fit.

  • Back from the Dead: She's resurrected by Sato in order to fulfill her schemes.
  • Due to the Dead: Because she plead guilty to her murders, the local fuedal lord had her placed in slumber before her execution, then had her buried honorably rather than put on display as a warning.
  • Logical Weakness: While her Stand lets her copy anything from anyone her scissors strike, this means she has to get in close and leave herself open to attack. Averted when she balances her envy with kindness, as she can now copy powers using line of sight.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When she finally sees the man who killed her husband for what he is, not the hallucination she had been under, she's horrified that she had killed the man's innocent wife and daughters out of envy.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Hers is envy, though once she's able to reconnect with her natural kindness, she's able to fully awaken her Stand.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: She was able to save the life of her infant son during the fire that destroyed her life.
  • Vengeance Feels Empty: She's able to take revenge for her husband's death by killing the man who caused the fire, but in the process she killed three innocent women due to hallucinating the man as her husband. Realizing this, she breaks down and submits herself to execution.

    Gallerian Marlon

Gallerian Marlon

Stand: Tried and Convicted

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_img1_3.jpg

A corrupt judge who was confronted by George Joestar I, and the Sin Stand user of Greed.

His Stand, Tried and Convicted is named after a song by Bobby Womack. In essence, Tried and Convicted is a Stand of judgement, allowing Gallerian the ability to determine the guilt or innocence of a person through a mere glance based on a number of factors. Along with this, it is capable of unleashing a torrent of flames that will burn a person depending on how much guilt they bear. However, this is only open to him if he is able to balance his greed with charity.

  • Arch Nemesis Dad: To his daughter Nemesis. And she has every reason to hate him.
  • Baby-Doll Baby: The death of his daughter Michelle broke him, and he came to believe a doll was his daughter.
  • Back from the Dead: He's resurrected by Sato as part of her scheme to remake the world.
  • Hanging Judge: He would send anyone to the gallows just because they couldn't pay him enough money.
  • Irony: He spent so much time fixated on providing a dead daughter with a future, only to be killed by his still-living daughter. For further irony, Nemesis had killed her half-sister by mistake.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Greed as per canon. His Stand is weakened as a result and is only restored to its true power when he balances it out with charity.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: His Stand is on full blast, but it's supposed to weaken in the face of those that are not as guilty. The reason for this is that Gallerian can only determine guilt or innocence depending on how much he's paid.

    Nemesis Sudo

Nemesis Sudo

Stand: One Step Closer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nemesis1_3645.png

A young assassin who used to fight alongside George Joestar I and Nathaniel Twilight. She's the Sin Stand user of Wrath.

Her Stand, One Step Closer, is named after a song by Linkin Park. This Stand produces four mechanical arms that can act independently of each other, as well as shoot fire energy blasts. However, unless Nemesis can balance her wrath with patience, the arms are merely made from flesh, and each set of three acts as one.

Her Stand's secondary ability, Reanimation, is named after an album by Linkin Park. This ability pushes her wrath so far that it ends up coming full circle, allowing her to enter into a state of calm focus, increasing her perception and allowing her the ability to conjure powerful energy cyclones.

  • Back from the Dead: Sato had her resurrected using the Vessels of Sin to make use of her ability.
  • Bounty Hunter: She takes up this profession in the 21st Century.
  • Driven to Suicide: She tried to kill herself when her boyfriend died. It didn't work.
  • Eye Scream: The result of the aforementioned suicide attempt.
  • Face–Heel Turn: She used to be an ally to George and Night Light, but was tricked into trying to take the Vessels of Sin from them to prevent herself from falling victim.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Her reaction when she accidentally killed her half-sister while trying to take out her actual target.
  • Oh, Crap!: Her reaction when Night Light scratches her with the key relic (just after she'd scratched him). This caused her Stand to awaken, making her realize she'd been marked by fate.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She represents wrath, but soon learns how to balance it out with patience in order to fully awaken her Stand.

Villains

    Honami Sato

Honami Sato

Stand: Seven Crimes and Punishments

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sato_0.png

Mahiru's best friend and a student in the Reserve Course until she committed a brutal murder. Transformed into the Ultimate Hope by the Steering Committee, she manipulated them to obtain The Book of The Law, a tome written by Aleister Crowley that could allow its reader to change the course of history.

Her Stand, Seven Crimes and Punishments, is named after a song by Vocaloid. Brought upon Sato after completing a ritual involving the Original Sin stone tablet, this Stand manifests as seven chains that can emerge from any part of her body, and allow her to control the Sin Stand Users, so long as their respective powers are incomplete. Even after they're freed from her control, Sato gains a copy of their respective Stands that she can use for herself.

  • Adaptational Badass: She gets placed into the Kamakura Project to become the "Ultimate Hope", giving her plenty of Ultimate skills. She also manages to gain a Stand in the final arc.
  • All Your Powers Combined: Freeing her captives only makes her stronger, as she gets to use a copy of their Stands for herself.
  • Big Bad: She's ultimately this for the entire story.
  • The Chessmaster: While she had nothing to do with the mystery in the first arc, the second and third arcs were part of her schemes.
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": She doesn't appreciate the Steering Committee referring to her as "Izuru Kamukura", preferring to be called by her actual name.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: She shows deep concern for Mahiru when she hears the 77th Class headed for the Canopy Kingdom at a time when the Skullgirl was rampaging.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: She wasn't much of anything back in the Reserve Course. But by the end of the story, she's gained incredible power and a terrifying intellect to use it with.
  • Meaningful Name: Well, when you consider that Sato used her Stand to control alternate versions of the main villains of the Evillious Chronicles.
  • Meaningless Villain Victory: She does make it to The Book of The Law first... Only to find that "changing the course of history" means changing the world's perception of it. The Book of The Law is actually a Stand archive, showing every person throughout history who was a Stand user, including several notable historical figures.
  • Named by the Adaptation: We actually get to know her first name here.
  • Shock and Awe: She can keep her slaves under control by electrocuting the chains binding them to her.
  • Shown Their Work: One of the things she's arrested for is carrying a blade that's too long, which is a real law in Japan.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: She doesn't get killed by Peko or Fuyuhiko in this story. Not that that's a good thing...
  • Took a Level in Badass: She starts out as just a Reserve Course student. Then the Steering Committee makes her into the Ultimate Hope, having lost Hajime. And then she finds a set of relics that gives her a particular Stand.
  • Villainous Breakdown: When she learns that she can't have her perfect world with Mahiru, she starts to rage.
  • Yandere: Everything she does is for the sake of being with Koizumi, whether she wants it or not.

    The Steering Committee

Ichigo, Niito, Sanfodo, and Yonejirou

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/steering_committee_dr0.png

A secular sector that has been controlling how Hope's Peak Academy runs from behind the scenes before Kakyoin takes over.

    Double

Double

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/double.jpg

A shapeshifting creature who has been instigating conflicts in New Meridian.

  • But Now I Must Go: She departs for the heavens with Eliza's death, content that the Trinity has been avenged and appeased.
  • Didn't See That Coming: She's shocked that all her efforts to avoid Stand users proved ineffective when Josefumi first encounters her with Big Band.
  • Eldritch Abomination: She has no true form, and can change her shape at will. This winds up being a weakness when she's hit by Josefumi's Stand (he thought it was an illusion and was intending to steal her ability to mimic).
  • Heel Realization: Once it's spelled out that Eliza is an Unreliable Narrator, she realized how foolish it was to base her judgment of humanity on the actions of one person.
  • Knight Templar: She's not evil in the strictest sense, just trying to carry out the will of the Trinity. When she and the Trinity realize their folly, they quickly stop antagonizing the heroes.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: According to her, the reason the Skull Heart will only respond to a woman's wish is because the Trinity identifies as female, implying this trope.
  • No Biological Sex: She may identify as female, as do the Trinity, but in truth she doesn't really have a gender due to her eldritch body.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Her form is malleable, allowing her to pull this off. Her Shapeshifter Default Form is that of a nun.

    Brain Drain

Brian Drawn

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bd_3.png

The head of Anti-Skullgirls Lab Zero. He is responsible for the inhumane experiments done on Carol.

  • Actually Pretty Funny: When he learns Valentine used her measurements as the door code to his lab, it actually brings a chuckle out of him.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: The reason he left the Speedwagon Foundation, thinking them too soft-hearted in actually caring about other people.
  • Face–Heel Turn: He was once a member of the Speedwagon Foundation, though if Josefumi's comments on it are any indication, he was a bit unhinged even then.
  • Genre Blindness: He ignored vital intel from Valentine just because she wound up siding with the Skullgirl, which Josefumi points out is just idiotic.
  • A Million Is a Statistic: He sees no problem sacrificing countless innocent lives if it means removing or solving a problem.
  • Named by the Adaptation: We don't even know if he had a real name in canon. He has one here though.

    Eliza

Eliza

Stand: Blood Teller

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eliza_2_tv_tropes_4767.png

An immortal woman who moonlights as a songstress in New Meridian. She is the main antagonist of the Skullgirls Arc.

Her Stand, Blood Teller, is named after a song by Faylan. With it, Eliza is able to control blood from any source.

  • Adaptational Karma: She never got any sort of comeuppance in canon. This story changed all that.
  • Arc Villain: She's the only villain in the story who has nothing to do with Sato's plans. Heck, Sato probably never even heard of her.
  • Connected All Along: She may not have had anything to do with Sato, but she does have a connection to DIO. Back in the 1880s, she was friends with Enya Giel, and actually told her about the Stand arrow Twilight used to get her powers. She also told DIO how he could allow Enya to ingest his blood and become The Ageless without turning into a vampire.
    • She's also the one responsible for the creation of the Stand arrows, having led their original crafter to the Cape York meteorite thousands of years ago. She even kept what was left and passed out fragments that were made into other relics. This likely includes the Stands Ticket to Ride and The Book of Love, both of which are maintained through the meteorite's ore, and certainly includes the sword that held the Stand Anubis and the eight Vessels of Sin.
  • Death by Adaptation: She's Killed Off for Real when Marie sucks Eliza's brain into her special vacuum cleaner.
  • Didn't See That Coming: She's surprised at how effective Nekomaru's Stand is.
  • Didn't Think This Through: She deliberately let Lorenzo Medici think her stealing from her own charity blood drive was a big secret so that she could spite the Trinity by helping the Medicis rise to power in New Meridian. Unfortunately, Lorenzo still had that connection in his back pocket, which came to bite Eliza in the butt when Cerebella alone wasn't enough to retrieve the Life Gem from Miss Fortune.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: She might be able to see the true strength of humanity, but it never once occurred to her that humans might be okay serving under benevolent deities without question.
  • Humans Are Special: The reason she killed the Trinity is that she firmly believes humans are more than capable of grasping their own destinies.
  • Logical Weakness: Since her body is largely made of blood, she's extremely vulnerable to electric shocks or anti-coagulants. Also, she still has her central nervous system, so if that's destroyed, she dies for good.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Instead of taking fresh blood from random civilians that could create an investigation leading right to her, she created a charity blood drive and takes a portion of the collected blood for herself. She also makes sure the public thinks she has an actual medical need for the blood, and that the rest goes to hospitals that might need it. That way people don't go snooping around and causing more incidents that could lead directly to her.

    Fukua

Fukua

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7345bb936dc68c4f47977f20a6b92d3d.jpg

A copy of Filia that was created by Brain Drain.

  • Adaptational Origin Connection: Her creation in this story was purely the work of Brain Drain, not Aeon.
  • Adaptational Villainy: The story was written long before Fukua became part of Skullgirls canon, so instead of being a messenger of the Trinity sent to warn people about the coming apocalypse, she's a clone of sorts that serves Brain Drain.
  • Ass Kicks You: A variation. Hiyoko's first attack against her is to knock her across the room with her boobs.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Nagito accidentally kills her by shutting down her connection to the Life Gem powering her body, just as she was about to hit her second wind.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: She's defeated quickly by Hiyoko, but it turns out her body was created using a Life Gem, which Miss Fortune is able to use to convince Cerebella to stop hounding her.
  • The Voiceless: She doesn't actually speak, something Hiyoko notes before fighting her.

    Robo-Fortune

Robo-Fortune

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/60bbf1f05eb68138c3c6d5d0bef746ff.jpg

A robotic version of Miss Fortune created by Brain Drain.

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Most of her attempts at humor only elicit groans, but she does have a few good zingers in there.
  • Death by Irony: She's destroyed by Painwheel, another of Brain Drain's creations that turned rogue on him thanks to the heroes' help.
  • Evil Has a Bad Sense of Humor: Her self-imposed prime directive is to master comedic timing. But as Brain Drain notes, it's hit or miss.
  • Foreshadowing: Brain Drain mentions creating her by reverse engineering the Strong AI of a certain Dr. Idabashi. Sure enough, K1-B0 shows up during the third arc.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: She barely gets in a few lines of dialogue before being reduced to scrap.
  • Zero-Effort Boss: She never even gets a chance to properly attack, as before she can make the first move, she's brutalized by Painwheel.

    Rome Eron

Rome Eron

Stand: Dead or Alive

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rome_3.jpg

A man wanted by the Speedwagon Foundation for causing literal zombie outbreaks with his Stand.

His Stand, Dead or Alive, is named after the British pop band Dead or Alive. With this Stand, Rome is able to create an entire zombie horde out of a thick smoke emanating from his body.

  • The Bait: He's been wanted by the Speedwagon Foundation for a while and Sato knows it, so he's sent in to get their attention and hold it while Brock searches for the artifacts Sato needs for her plan.
  • Character Name Alias: Rome Eron isn't his real name, but rather one based on George A. Romero.
  • Fog of Doom: The zombies his Stand creates come from such mist, and they can manifest in the tens of thousands.
  • Original Character: He has no canon counterpart from any of the media used in the series. He was made purely for the story.
  • Our Zombies Are Different: The zombies summoned by Dead or Alive can't make more zombies by biting someone, so normally Rome has to summon an extreme amount of them to cause chaos. During the Willamette Incident, he's aided by a certain type of insect queen.
  • Required Secondary Powers: The zombies created by his Stand never target him for whatever reason. It's not because he can control them, as he explains that the horde is purely autonomous.

    Brock Mason

Brock Mason

Stand: Freakshow

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brock_9.jpg

A former member of the Special Forces working with Sato and the Steering Committee to instigate the Willamette Incident.

His Stand, Freakshow, is named after a song by Skillet. With it, Brock is able to control the minds of any criminal that he has personally detained, granting them supernatural powers based on their crimes.

  • Adaptational Villainy: While he may have been antagonistic to Frank West during his home game, he was ultimately Just Following Orders. Here he goes out of his way to be a villain.
  • Adaptational Wimp: The slashers created by his Stand's influence are much easier to kill than canon, though several characters do Double Tap them just to be sure.
  • Fights Like a Normal: He is a soldier, after all, so he doesn't need his Stand to defend himself. Though this doesn't really matter against other Stand users with more capable offensive abilities.
  • More than Mind Control: Freakshow can only work on murderers that Brock has personally detained, meaning they're more than happy to keep on killing at his command.
  • Personality Powers: Any criminal Brock uses his Stand on will gain supernatural powers based around the killings they've committed.
  • Stock Slasher: Freakshow takes relatively normal killers and turns them into inhuman slashers, all based on Dead by Daylight (though only up to Ghost Face).

Supporting Characters

    Jin Kirigiri

Jin Kirigiri

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jin_kirigiri_illustration.png

The headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy.

  • I Will Find You: He'd been searching for his daughter Kyoko for years, even when he became headmaster at Hope's Peak. He's amazed when Koichi is able to find her without issue.
  • Number Two: He's below Kakyoin in the pecking order at Hope's Peak due to being the headmaster while Kakyoin is the owner.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Thanks to the different circumstances regarding the destruction of the practical exam building, he finds himself in a position where he can pardon Ruruka, Sonosuke, and Kimura, allowing them to properly graduate.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Originally launched in a rocket, the G-force of which reduced him to a skeleton by the time of reentry, here he survives due to the lack of a Killing Game.

    Koichi Kizakura

Koichi Kizakura

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kizakura_future.png

The former teacher of Class 77-B, and the primary scouting agent for Hope's Peak.

  • The Alcoholic: He's regularly seen being plastered. His former students even comment on it.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Given the odd quirk of fate that all Ultimate Students possess a Stand, it's unknown if Kizakura has some sort of Stand power or other supernatural affinity of his own. Or he could just be that good at picking out the most talented high school students.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Since this world lacks Killing Games, he doesn't get poisoned to death just for opening his left hand.
  • Unishment: He doesn't see his suspension from teaching as a serious issue, as he wasn't very popular with the students anyway, and it would give him more time to focus on finding quality Ultimates for the academy.

    Natsumi Kuzuryu

Natsumi Kuzuryu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/natsu.jpg

Fuyuhiko's younger sister and a student in the Reserve Course.

  • Didn't Think This Through: She admits her scheme to force Mahiru out of the Main Course to take her place was half-baked at best.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Her brother Fuyuhiko notes she only learned the worst aspects of being a yakuza, leaving him and his family fearful that she'd piss off the wrong people. Yet her interactions with Hajime prove she can be reasonable and even friendly under the right circumstances.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: She's only around for one chapter before she's murdered, yet the arrest of her murderer actually leads up to the main plot of Jojolion.
  • The Stations of the Canon: Her death is one of the few things from Danganronpa that was kept, although the circumstances surrounding it were changed.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: With Hajime's guidance, she was on her way to possibly getting into the Main Course at Hope's Peak. Then Sato went and murdered her...

    Komaru Naegi

Komaru Naegi

Stand: Love is War

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7d0e5334fb671e5b7e05c50e2d65c59a.png

Makoto's younger sister, who often helps him when he's taking down random criminals on the street.

Her Stand, Love is War, is named after a song by Hatsune Miku. Taking the appearance of a megaphone, it can manipulate machines via electromagnetic signal bursts. Along with this, she is able to reveal invisible marks such as blood or fingerprints, as well as blast living beings with an electric shock.

  • Meaningful Name: Komaru's Stand takes the form of a megaphone. The music video for "Love is War" has probably one of the most iconic Miku Hatsune images out there... Her angrily screaming into a megaphone.
  • Mythology Gag: At one point, Komaru is shown dealing with a certain robotic bear at Twilight City (a stand-in for Towa City). She even calls them "monokumas".
  • Sensor Character: The electromagnetic energy Love is War projects can be used to spot forensic details, such as fingerprints.

    Aleister Crowley

Aleister Crowley

Stand: The Book of Love

The famous British occultist of the early 20th Century. Supposedly his famous work, The Book of The Law, would change the course of history forever.

His Stand, The Book of Love, is named after a song by The Monotones. This Stand acts as an archive of Stand users, possessing knowledge of those who came before Crowley, as well as those who appeared during his life, automatically writing down who these users are once they appear. And thanks to Crowley using ink containing ore dust from the Cape York meteorite, the book is able to remain long after his death.

  • Cypher Language: The Book of Love keeps its text hidden with dummy codes so that no one can understand it. No one except a Stand user that is...
  • Exact Words: He said his book would change the course of history. He never meant that literally, as The Book of Love would show whoever read it which famous historical figures were Stand users, which would change people's perception of history.
  • Historical Domain Character: As a real person, Crowley would naturally fall under this trope, though the man himself never actually appears and is only named.
  • Historical Domain Superperson: It turns out Crowley was a Stand user, and his Stand, known as The Book of Love, is actually a documentation of every Stand user that ever existed.
  • Posthumous Character: He's naturally long dead at the time of the story, having died in 1947. His legacy, however, persists.
  • Reality-Writing Book: Of the Automatic Data Recorder kind. Since The Book of Love uses ink infused with ore from the Cape York Meteorite, it continues to write entries for each new Stand user that awakens their power.

    Night Light

Nathaniel Twilight

Twilight's father, and George Joestar I's best friend.

  • Badass Normal: He and George don't have any supernatural abilities, yet they're able to take on two Stand users and hold their own.
  • Deliberately Bad Example: We were only told what could happen to those who get infected with the Stand virus while lacking Stand potential. Night Light shows how dangerous that can be.
  • Genre Savvy: While it's unknown if George knew the true danger of the stone mask, he and Night Light certainly did know the Vessels of Sin were dangerous, and tried to keep them separated.
  • Posthumous Character: At the start of the series, he's already died. We don't see how that happened until Jojolion.
