openCan you list fan-games under "canon" videogame pages? Videogame
Oo boy. Long story short: There was once an MMO, and when it shut down, the creator made it open-source to allow fans to create their own spin-offsnote read: fan-games of the original. And there are tons, and tons of spin-offs based on it.
I want to put them in a list on the main page or create some sort of series index, but not sure where or how to.
Is it okay to list them (either as subfolders or bullet points) on the same page as the original? Or must they remain as their own separate pages without links?
Edited by INeveropenDoes the Scrappy need a waiting period?
Base-Breaking Character requires a 6 month wait to see how the audience perceives the divisiveness of a character. So does that apply to The Scrappy as well?
openEditWar Live Action TV
The troper buihuuduyet has re-added an example to the Ymmv page of https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=YMMV.GameOfThronesS8E5TheBells&more=t For Internet Backdraft that he added but got deleted. Even ignoring that the whole defending a character torching a populated area is just odd. There's no way that should be in Internet Backdraft as I have not found anyone defending this on the internet. They'll agree it was badly written but way out of line.
openHelp with a redirect
I need to know how to take the existing Radar/ProWrestling page so that it redirects to Radar/ProfessionalWrestling instead of the other way around. What is the best way to do this? Thank you.
openI have a problem with Draco leather pants
So, Draco in Leather Pants. From what I understand is when fans sugarcoat the villain actions because of multiple reasons, and is the opposite of Ron the Death Eater. Fair enough.
But to make sure of it, I went and took a quick look at the examples of Ron where it hosts multiple sources for its examples with fan works, but I found none with Draco. In fact, I added an entry of Raditz from Dragon Ball Z as a draco and put three examples that tried to present him in a good light but couldn't say the same for the other examples.
I think Draco's trope should be worked so it includes specific examples in fan works other than the vague "some works potray him as complex and innocent".
openPointless subpage? Anime
fsdfsdfsd created a subpage of Anime And Manga for Yu Gi Oh Arc V. There are very few legit entries on here so the inclusion of the page feels pointless. Can we have it removed and its additions readded to the main page?
Edited by keyblade333openProblematic Troper
Yes, another one.
Amiranda 3883 has poor grammar (notably, they don't capitalize names much of the time, such as saying "the avengers finally captures thanos".) They also don't use namespaces. This is evident throughout their history, but the edit that caught my eye was, of course, their edit to Villains Never Lie.
I sent two notifiers, one for grammar and one for namespacing, so we'll see if they improve— but some help with cleanup would be appreciated, since their edits date back to February, and it seems like they've been flying under the radar long enough to have many of their edits untouched.
openPointless Negativity Film
Wercury made a Justifying Edit on Avengers: Endgame about Black Widow's sacrifice after I already removed one explaining my reasoning in the Discussion page. As well as a pointlessly nasty comment in the Explanation section claiming the only people bothered by it were cheap outrage peddlers and that anyone who agreed with them was an idiot for falling for their bullshit. As someone who was ultimately OK with the decision I can see why people had a problem with it too for lots of reasons that aren't outright sexist. It's a lose-lose situation regardless of who leapt.
openUnintentionally Unsympathetic Live Action TV
Would Unintentionally Unsympathetic apply to an entire populace? The trope is being used to defend a character's choice to mass slaughter its civilian population, owing to the crappy acts some of its citizens have pulled. The example itself is on the YMMV page as the last bullet point under Unintentionally Unsympathetic. There is currently a discussion going on here and it seems to be at a stand-still.

Can we delete people's added Haikus if they aren't...well, haikus? This one was added to American Kirby Is Hardcore, and...
Japanese:he's cute (5)
American:WTF? he's super ugly (12)
European:same but not in the wii game (11)

Edited by WarJay77open This Sonic Character Who Keeps Getting Popped Up Anime
I've seen a lot of these all over the place on the Internet talking about this character named Chris Thorndyke. https://www.thetoptens.com/worst-sonic-characters/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEopDzaZzrU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8sLrHzl2og I'm somewhat of a Sonic fan, but I haven't really seen any of the cartoons because they haven't really caught my eye, and I already have tons of shows that I'm currently watching that I can't really check them out. According to TV Tropes, he's hated because he's a Creator's Pet, but all these websites state that he's a spoiled brat who obsesses over Sonic more than Amy, and he's a gay furry lover who has a crush on Sonic. Does that sound like an example of Ron the Death Eater?
openIs there a way to search a thread/forum?
Is there a way to possibly search a thread or forum for specific keywords or phrases? For example, if I wanted to see if Cinder Fall has been discussed on the Complete Monster thread, is there a way to search the thread for the words "Cinder Fall" and find matches?
open You know this subtrope when...
... A House Divided ensues specifically because the previous leader, who had enough skill, charisma, strength and whatever else it takes, dies or goes missing, and the ones remaining are, at least immediately afterwards, Inadequate Inheritors? Basically this trope plus You Are in Command Now.
Example: A Song of Ice and Fire where both Ned Stark and Tywin Lannister are strong patriarchs who have maintained or elevated the reputations of their houses; after their respective deaths, their houses fall into disarray because none of their children was prepared to be everything their father was and they either couldn't work together or... well, be together.
Is that even different enough to be a subtrope?
Edited by NhazUlopenRedirects
"The Jeeves" seems to have the Trope-Namer Syndrome, and I thought that "Perfect British Butler" would be a better and more intuitive name, but it's also linked from 478 pages. Is it possible to discuss it, or do we leave it at that name to avoid fixing that number of links? And if we do the second, is the name a valid proposal for a redirect? Where do I propose it?
openIs there anywhere where you can request a page to be Spoilers Off?
I was wondering if there was a dedicated forum or page that could let you request a page be made Spoilers Off.
open Does This Violate ROCEJ?
I've never brought up before but the Pro Jared thing brought it to mind again. Nearly every page related to the now infamous psyguy has a huge disclaimer in special font warning about him being a sex offender:
Considering I've never seen this for any other creator (not even John K, who is still active and interacting with underage fans on instagram) that was outted as a predator I was wondering if this was something that was approved as a special case or the user that went around doing it just kind of went rogue.
openCan we just add a long running series as a franchise?
I wonder how we can add a certain series as a franchise, because they don't have such a page.
I'd like to make a Franchise page to these two medias:
- Cardfight!! Vanguard, because it has 3 anime series, a cardgame and a few videogames, two mangas and a 4koma manga/anime that began in 2011.
- Video Game/Medabots, because it has an anime series with two seasons and multiple video games and spin offs even though only the anime and three video games came to the west.
openCrowners on Trope Repair Shop and Image Pickin
It seems all of the crowners I have seen today have "test Bibble Bobble phlebotinum Looks like we've got redlinking working!" in all of the options on the crowners. Is this a spammer or something like that?
I found a broken spoiler on Watch_Dogs 2 that I just cannot fix because I'm not sure how to make spoiler tags and potholes work together.
It's in Wrench's folder.
