openInfamous series page Videogame
My inFAMOUS page got deleted for misused namespace: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/Infamous
I don't know what that means exactly, (I guess I didn't categorize it right) though I didn't think the page was necessary to delete the page.
I mean it talked about the series as a whole and such a page didn't exist before. For example it mentioned how being the chosen one isn't easy so it was pretty useful.
I was wondering if I could put the page back up.
openPossible shipping agenda Anime
About Naruto, no less. As if the Shipping Wars of old weren't enough....
Anyway. bunbun666 is new to the site and their edits so far are additions to ShipTease.Naruto and cleansing Characters.Naruto Sakura Haruno of "negative" tropes.
I smell a shipping agenda.
Edit: Fixed the links; they should be working now. Edited by RoundRobin
openEdit war
shivang915 keeps repeatedly removing information without explanation from Recap.Elena Of Avalor S 3 E 28 Coronation Day despite being asked multiple times why and to stop.
Edited by CommanderVisoropenPossible problem troper Film
I was just renovating the description for Film.Dark Waters and noticed that the history contained this paragraph, added to the top of the page by Nasty Interesting Man in May:
It was subsequently deleted by Melinda, who also corrected many of the spelling/grammar issues that Nasty was complaining about.
Nasty's edit history is very short and sporadic, and this appears to be the last time they contributed to the wiki since May, but I feel it's recent enough to warrant action of some kind.
Edited by Dirtyblue929openZero-context problem
I mentioned the troper Vincentthe Freak in this post - https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/query.php?parent_id=90684&type=att - a while ago because he kept adding zero-context examples despite notifiers and messages. A mod replied that they would send him a personalized notifier as a warning.
However, this doesn't seem to have had any effect. He's still adding plenty of ZCE's. Most of them do have text, but they don't have context - for example, writing "Tomboy and Girly Girl: X is the tomboy to Y's girly girl" without explaining what makes them a tomboy and girly girl respectively. A few of them don't have any text at all.
Examples of the zero-context examples I'm talking about: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Characters.ParappaTheRapper https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Characters.CharliesAngel
openRudeness in Fate/Stay Night review sections Videogame
Someone might want to tell Chillpool to knock it off with the fan attacking comments in the Fate/stay night reviews he's bumped.
openIllegal custom title.
The fanfic with the acronym title "Fanfic/SOE2LoneHeirOfKrypton" has the irregular custom title of "Superwomen of Eva 2: Lone Heir of Krypton".
This is a misuse of the custom title system, and cause a few problems with alphabetization.
The immediate solution would be to move the whole to its proper title (without an acronym), but not that as fanfics go, this one has lots of subpages and wicks (350).
openWeird cut rejection, without Discussion reason...
Weird cut rejection, without Discussion reason...
FanFic.Wreck-ItRalph2 had its cut rejected... It's got bad capitalization, it's a low use redirect. It has a hyphen in it...
Why keep it? Or was it a mistake rejection?
Edited by MaladyopenWhy is there no way to search within threads in the forum?
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I think it would be a good idea since some threads are thousands of pages long.
open Adorkable cleanup
Adorkable is in the Trope Repair Shop. It's been decided how to best fix the trope: It's now an Audience Reaction (listing fans' reactions to cute dorky characters on YMMV tabs) and there's a new in-universe trope Endearingly Dorky.
The page has over 11 thousand wicks, so we need volunteers who feel like helping with the cleanup. Every little bit helps. Zero-context examples and misuse are to be removed. Sinkholes (meaningless, contextless potholes) should be dewicked. Valid in-universe examples should be changed to Endearingly Dorky and cross-wicked on the newly launched page. Examples that are fans' reaction should be moved to YMMV (and ideally, moved to Adorkable subpages; there are lots of them; but considering the huge number of wicks, there is no way every instance is cross-wicked).

Please don't reply to this post. This post should only bring awareness to the TRS thread and the cleanup project.
Thank you!
openTLP Page Isn't Updating for Me
I've tried to edit a TLP that I adopted today, and they don't seem to be updating when I click Save. Is there something wrong with the system, or my account?
openRude Troper
Insert Witty Username has some edit reasons in their history that are unnecessarily rude, including their most recent one, on this page: "Uh...no? The sexual harassment scenes are supposed to show them as misogynist creeps. Plus, if it took a Twitter hashtag to show you sexual harassment was wrong... well... no comment..."
On this page: "Uh... wtf? No,no, she just adds spicy pepper/tobacco to it, and it doesn’t kill the dog, the lady says ‘dying’ not ‘dead’, and it’s clearly not dying either, the joke is it’s an overreaction! Wtf this is kinda fucked up. This is Fawlty Towers, not Peep Show! You can’t just have the characters murder a dog casually!"
Most obvious is this one: "This is the most unimaginably dense thing I've read in a long while."
openEdit War on Characters/FireEmblemThreeHousesEdelgard
Edit page history link for Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Edelgard.
RedHunter543 deleted the Dark Messiah entry on Edelgard's character page for the following reason: "Edelgard does not fit the criteria to be a dark messiah."
Mei-may restored the entry for the following reason: "Didn't cite which criteria she lacks to be not be this trope. And a DM is a villain with savior-delusions, has a utopian vision of peace and prospect, knight templar tendencies, has pet the dog moments but ruthless enough to sacrifice the dog, has loyal followers and generally acts/has good intentions, etc. Which all fit Edelgard."
Redhunter 543 deleted the entry again, making this into an Edit War for the following reason: "Edelgard does not present herself to be a holy savior to be a Dark Messiah, she's more knight templar than this trope. Additionally, she does not inspire fanatism in people aside from Hubert. The rest of the Eagles can turn on her for example"
I read the page for Dark Messiah and agree with Mei-may that Edelgard qualifies, but more voices should be heard to determine if Edelgard is indeed a DM.
openIs this correct or not? Film
On The Batman (2021) it has "Adaptational Name Change: Riddler's civilian surname has been changed from Nygma to Nashton."
I'm positive there's at least one incarnation where Nashton was his legal last name before he changed it after leaving home. So does this actually count as Adaptational Name Change or no?
Edited by AkibaPurpleopenAmerican Hate Tingle
In YMMV.Uzaki Chan Wants To Hang Out has a Americans Hate Tingle that im certain is being misused since it deals with the issue with one characters body.
Particularly among certain Twitter circles, there's a subset of the Western audience that is very vocal in their dislike of Uzaki, particularly due to their belief that her body type makes her oversexualized as well as the misconception that she is a minor and therefore promoting pedophilia (despite the fact that Uzaki is 19).
Edited by WhirlRXopenSuperMillionaire
Super Millionaire made edits that reference non-existent tropes in Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak, Lady of War, and Tomboy with a Girly Streak.
- Gentlewoman Of War
- Girly Appearance Tomboyish Personality
- Ladies Of War Dont Have Love Interests
- Tomboyish Appearance Girly Personality
openJak 3 Videogame
For some reason, Jak 3 is labelled as Jak 3: Wastelander, even though that's purely a Fan Nickname and has never been an official title. The Trivia page even happily admits this fact. The most baffling part is the fact that Jak 3 isn't even a redirect. This can't be kosher, can it?
openIs this ItWasHisSled? Videogame
This example from Dream Within a Dream was unspoilered when I came across it:
- The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is All Just a Dream, and within that game there's an area called the Dream Shrine which you access by climbing into a bed and going to sleep.
I added the spoiler tags, but is the reason it was unspoilered because it was already a well-known twist, and thus, I had no reason to spoiler it?
So, this problem retains to character sheets for object shows. Me and Whaterva have decided on what to do last night, but I'm just going to ask right now. So Whaterva has been putting the trope "An Arm and a Leg" in sections for characters who lack legs. Now, the trope in question actually relates to the mutilation of limbs. If the character in question lost their legs to an injury, that's fine. However, to bring you a couple cases, Slurpy's lack of legs is an unknown case, and Nabla's case makes zero sense if you know that she was given Sudden Anatomy by Oodle. We've decided to just replace the trope with an inversion case of Armless Biped until a new trope launches for legless characters, but what do you guys think?
